Cisco Unity Profile, Hunt Pilot

Hello,
I'm a bit unfamiliar with Cisco Unity but i was wondering if it is possible to make a unity profile for a hunt pilot.
The sitaution would be that customers would hit the pilot and when there is no one to answer the phone in the hunt it should go to voicemail.
Now i know that you can make a unity box with an extension known in CuCM so that you can dial the unity connection, but i've noticed the feedback is directly pincode and not extension.
Is there a way to configure this? So that the users in the hunt group can access the voicemailbox where the hunt group falls back when there is no pickup.
Thanks

Hi Yannick,
This type of set up can be accomplished in many ways. Here is one example
In this example we want the calls that route through the Hunt Pilot @ 5000
to ultimately end up in a new shared Group mailbox  @ 2355
We will also be adding 2355 to at least one of the group phones (spare line button)
so they can have a visual indication when a new message is left.
Hunt Pilot Configuration
Hunt Forward Settings
Forward Hunt No Answer - to Voicemail Pilot #
Forward Hunt Busy - to Voicemail Pilot #
**This is KEY make the Hunt Pilot DN an Alternate Extension on the desired mailbox.**
The  Hunt Pilot number is 5000 and the mailbox you want to use is  2355. Set  the Hunt Pilot to Forward (CFNA/CFB) to the Unity Connection Pilot #  with  the settings shown above.
Create a mailbox for 2355  (this number can be on multiple phones if you like) and add 5000 as an  Alternate Extension. When the call  routes through to Unity Connection  via the Hunt Pilot No Answer Unity Connection should see  the CLID of  5000 which will then be connected to the Mailbox on 2355.
If this is not what you want just let us know & we'll come up with plan B If you just wanted a mailbox on 5000
itself that will work as well but you won't have a visual. You can generally check these mailboxes by pressing
the message button and when the system asks for a PIN - Press * enter 5000# - enter PIN.
Cheers!

  • Asking Transfer to Hunt Pilot in Unity

    If i want to set transfer to hunt pilot in call handler caller input, are hunt pilot must be subscriber ? thanks

    Hi Helmi,
    In Unity, yes in Unity Connection no
    For unity;
    There are a couple of ways to do this. Internet Subscribers do not consume a
    license but can be dialed via AA
    Creating Internet Subscribers
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/networking/guide/ex/5xcunet040e.html
    You can also have a look at the following on how to set up the Call Handler (lock a key to the Caller System Transfer) in Unity to allow callers to Transfer to non-subscribers;
    Setting Up System Transfers
    In your organization, you may find that callers want to be able to dial numbers that are not typically listed in directory assistance. For example, subscribers and outsider callers may find it convenient to be able to call Cisco Unity and transfer from the Opening Greeting or another call handler to a lobby extension, conference room extension, or an extension assigned to someone in the organization who is not a Cisco Unity subscriber, such as an employee who is visiting from another site and is using a guest office.
    You can route callers to one of two "system transfer" conversations, both of which offer callers the ability to transfer to numbers that are not associated with Cisco Unity subscribers:
    You can route callers to either system transfer conversation in several ways, including: Caller System Transfer, This conversation prompts callers to enter the number that they want to transfer to.
    By offering a system transfer as a "one-key dialing" option. You can specify either system transfer (on the Caller Input page for any call handler or subscriber greeting) as the action that Cisco Unity performs when a caller presses a particular key during the greeting.
    For example, to allow all callers to transfer to a lobby phone, guest office, or a conference room from the Opening Greeting, you could specify that Cisco Unity will offer Caller System Transfers when callers press 3.
    Call Management > Call Handlers > Caller Input Page
    Action Indicate the action that Cisco Unity performs after a caller presses the corresponding key.
    Send Caller To - Cisco Unity sends the call to the destination that you select:
    Caller System Transfer - Sends the call to a conversation that allows callers to transfer to a number that they specify. For example, callers may want to dial a lobby or conference room phone that is not associated with a Cisco Unity subscriber. Cisco Unity performs the transfer only when the CS_Default_System_Transfer restriction table permits it.
    Cheers!

  • Support Line - Call Forward All through Hunt Pilot to cell phone

    I know I may be beating a dead horse, but I've found so much help in these forums that I figured I'd give it a shot.
    We have a Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition and we are running into a configuration issue. What we would like to do is to create an emergency support line for our IT staff. The way we would like this to function is that a caller dials a number, CM accepts the call and dials out to our IT staff's cell phone numbers in a round-robin fashion. To avoid the caller getting dumped into the IT staff's voice mail on their cells, we would like the staff member to have to dial a number to accept the call. If there is no answer, the call rolls to the next cell number. If no one is available, the caller should be directed to Unity Connection to leave a message. Unity then will send out text and email messages to the support staff.
    I know that we can use Unity to perform an assisted transfer, which will require the user to press "1" to accept the call, and we are able to get Unity to send out the notifications (text and email) when a voice message is left. The issue is with Call Manager making the outbound calls to the cell phones.
    What we have attempted is to setup DNs that call forward all to the users cell numbers. These DNs have been added to a Line Group, which has a Hunt Pilot attached to it. Any time this pilot is called, we get a reorder. Using the DNA, we see that "no device is associated with the DN", which is under the DN for the first users cell forward. If we add that DN as a second line to that users IP Phone (7940), then the call into the Hunt Pilot rings that line on the IP phone, not the CFA to the cell phone.
    After weeks of digging around, it seems as though CFA in a Hunt is just not possible. My boss wants official word from Cisco about this, but TAC doesn't seem to want to help due to service contract issues (which blows my mind, as we have opened several cases in the past two months for configuration related issues). Our Business Edition came with Contact Center Xpress, although we do not have the resources available to install it. If CCX will carry out this task, that might be enough to push management into getting another server to support this, but without being able to play around with it, I don't know.
    If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this work, I would GREATLY appreciate the help!
    Thanks in advance,
    -Geoff

    Hi Geoff,
    Always interesting isn't it :)
    Call Forward settings on individual Hunt member phones are ignored when presented a call via the Hunt feature. Here is a clip;
    The concept of hunting differs from that of call forwarding. Hunting allows Cisco CallManager to extend a call to one or more lists of numbers, where each such list can specify a hunting order that is chosen from a fixed set of algorithms. When a call extends to a hunt party from these lists and the party fails to answer or is busy, hunting resumes with the next hunt party. (The next hunt party varies depending on the current hunt algorithm.) Hunting thus ignores the Call Forward No Answer (CFNA) or Call Forward Busy (CFB) settings for the attempted party. This also applies to CFWD ALL settings.
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_administration_guide_chapter09186a00803edabe.html#wp107892
    So, any Forwarding settings have to be done on the Hunt Pilot itself. These Destination settings (on the Hunt Pilot) need to be configured to go to the Unity Voicemail Pilot # or perhaps this is where you Forward out to the Cell #;
    Hunt Forward Settings
    Forward Hunt No Answer - When the call that is distributed through the hunt list is not answered in a specific time, this field specifies how to forward the call.
    Destination This setting indicates the directory number to which calls are forwarded. (This can be the Directory Number of the Unity VM Pilot)
    Forward Hunt Busy - When the call that is distributed through the hunt list is busy in a specific time, this field specifies how to forward the call.
    Destination This setting indicates the directory number to which calls are forwarded. (This can be the Directory Number of the Unity VM Pilot)
    Maximum Hunt Timer - Enter a value (in seconds) that specifies the maximum time for hunting.(Used in conjunction with Forward Hunt Busy)
    Maybe you could leverage these Unity Connection configs to achieve your desired results. These will ensure that the Message is not left unattended;
    Cascading Message Notification
    Cascading message notification allows you to send notifications to a widening circle of recipients. Cisco Unity Connection continues to send notifications according to the devices you selected until the message has been saved or deleted by a recipient.
    For example, to create a cascade of message notifications for your Technical Support department,
    Chaining Message Notification
    Message notification can be set to "chain" to a series of notification devices if an attempt to send notification to the first selected device fails. The definition of failure to a notification device is based on the options you select for retrying a device that is not answered or is busy.

    Experts,
    I would like to set up hunt group (including 3 extensions) with no answer to the VM, so what I did after spending long time:

    2)Configured Line List
    3)Configured Hunt Pilot
    4)created CTI user with VM and in hunt pilot:Forward Hunt No Answer to CTI extension with VM CSS is right, Forward Hunt Busy same thing.  When I dial CTI user I have call redirected to the VM however when I use hunt pilot number all is ok phones ring but I get the final redirected to the main VM greeting "Hello Cisco Unity messaging system from the touch phone you might dill extension any time otherwise ...... "
    is there way to fix it or use other way to use hunt pilot with VM ?
    Thank You

    Hi there,
    Sorry for the delay :) This should be all you need to do under the existing mailbox (2355 in our example)
    To Add an Alternate Extension to an Individual User Account
    Step 1 In Cisco Unity Connection Administration, find the user account for which you want to add an alternate extension.
    Step 2 On the Edit menu, select Alternate Extensions.
    Step 3 On the Alternate Extensions page, select Add New.
    Step 4 On the New Alternate Extension page, in the Phone Type list, select the applicable phone.
    Step 5 In the Display Name field, enter a description of the alternate extension.
    Step 6 In the Phone Number field, enter the phone number of the alternate extension.
    Step 7 Select Save.

  • Unable to create a notification for a group (Cisco Unity Express 3.2)

    There is Cisco ISR 2821 with CME 7.1 and Cisco Unity Express 3.2.
    I am trying to create notifications for a group named AAA in CUE.
    I do following (GUI):
    1. Go to Configure -> Groups
    2. Click on the group name AAA.
    3. In Group Profile window 'Enable notification for this user/group' option is enabled.
    4. Go to Mailbox tab. There is an associated mailbox with ticks against Enabled and Fax Enabled.
    5. Go to Notification tab and see the warning:
    No Notification Devices found for User/Group
    Also, there are another several groups on this system and I am able to turn notification on for them. These groups have the same owners and members that AAA has. Moreover, if I create a new group and set it up absolutely the same as AAA, I can turn notifications on for it.
    The problem in this way is that we have our custom greetings and after I created a new group, for example BBB, with the same settings (as AAA, inluding Primary Extansion and Primary E.164 Number) and remove these numbers from AAA, then it works and users would receive notification about new voice messages. BUT, when I call BBB I listen to standart Cisco greeting promts.
    I don't undestand why it happens, because all these greetings are determined in Voicemail -> Auto Attendant section and I did not any changes here at all.
    How can I fix this 'notification' problem?
    Thanks.

    Process with success:
    unzip the packet in: C:\APEX
    1. Install:
    @apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/
    2. Change to password:
    @apxchpwd,
    3. Run apex_epg_config.sql
    On windows:
    @apex_epg_config.sql (page 30, the guide of intallation)
    Important:Replace SYSTEM_DRIVE:\TEMP by C:
    E.g.: @apex_epg_config C:
    After this, follow the next steps
    4. ALTER USER ANONYMOUS ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
    Finish! Just execute apxldimg.sql script if you is upgrading from a preview release.
    Now try the connect on the browser IE6 o later:

  • Hunt Pilot - range of numbers

                      HI,
    I have a simple question.
    I'm using call manager version 8.6. I have configured hunt pilot as range of numbers instead of specific number.
    eg: 898949X
    it wil work properly right. I want to confirm.
    I tested it is working fine.

    Yes, it is allowed to use special characters in Hunt Pilots and documented:-

  • Broken Cisco Unity / Unified Communications Manager association

    We have several Cisco Unity Connection users with the following status in their profiles:
    "This user's association to the co-resident Cisco Unified Communications Manager user has been broken.
    Please Click Here to reassociate the orphaned user."
    Clicking on the reassociation button does not show any of the users with broken associations, just a few resource users.
    Is there any way to reassociate these users with CUCM without having to delete them in Unity Connection along with their mailboxes?

    These are the steps I took to resolve the issue. I was particularly concerned about users losing saved messages in their voicemail. The posted solution did not give much detail on what to do.
    1) Create a new user in CUCM. For example, I have a user called 'John Doe' in the system. I created a new one called 'John Doe2'.
    2) After creating the user I associated 'John Doe2' to the phone in use by 'John Doe'. Then I set the Primary Extension as needed for that user. Hit the 'Save' button and verify that the 'Create Cisco Unity User' option shows up in the drop-down box in the right hand corner.
    3) Log into Cisco Unity Connection Administration, and select 'John Doe'. Click on the link to re-associate and select 'John Doe2'. This links the Unity user to the CUCM user.
    4) Log back into CUCM and select 'John Doe' from the user list. Remove all device associations from the user. Hit Save, then delete the user.
    5) Select 'John Doe2' and rename the user as 'John Doe'.
    These steps fixed my problem. I had to do it for all the users whose association was broken. One note to make is that the voicemail PIN is automatically reset to the default I believe, which is 0000. Other than that voicemail continues to work normally and users don't have to redo their greetings and such.

  • Setting up Greeting in Cisco Unity

    I need to setup as follow:
    When a caller call to DN(Extension) if it is busy or no answer the call should forward to greeting like "Sorry line is busy" for Busy and "Sorry I'm not here" for no answer. After that a call should forward/transfer to Hunt Pilot that DN(Extension) is belong to.
    Is it possible to setting like this ?
    Thanks

    1) something made my cisco called nac.
    Sure thats not NAT?
    2) When you connect directley to the LAN port provided by the doom, check your IP address.
    ipconfig /all
    3) If this address happens to be somthing like 192.168.1.x then the DEFAULT subnet on Linksys routers is the same subnet.  So, your WAN out on the Linksys is trying to nat your private addresses 192.168.1.x to public 192.168.1.x.
    4) Presumeing your connection out, the jack in the wall, is on DHCP, your router should be picking up everything from the campus (Doom) DHCP server, however, check the default gatway/DNS servers when dirctley connected to the doorm network, then check the same on the router when it is connectd to the dorm network.
     Need more information.  Report back with the IPCONFIG with a computer directley connected to the dorm network.

  • Hunt Pilot / Pickup Group

    I have a scenario that is giving me a problem with pickup groups and I need some assistance. I have 3 extensions (1410, 1411 & 1412) that are part of a pickup group. That pickup group works fine. However, we have an after hours line group with a hunt pilot of 1420 that rings phones 1410 & 1600(broadcast). When a call goes to 1420 it rings 1410 & 1600 just fine but users at 1411 & 1412 cannot pick up the call ringing on 1410. Says call is not available. Is there a different way to set that up so it can pick up that line? I thought maybe adding 1420 to the pickup group but that does not appear to be an option. We are running CM 5.1.
    Thanks

    Hi Chris,
    Hope all is well with you! You are on the right track with adding 1420 to the Pickup Group,but you are hitting this bug CSCsb12946 which prevents this feature from working (still applicable in 5.1);
    Set enterprise parameter (System->Enterprise Parameters->Cisco Support Use 1) Cisco Support Use 1 to CSCsb42763 (case sensitive)

  • MOH operation Hunt Pilot Que Question

    CUCM 9.1
    currently running 4 call manager servers
    All 4 servers are in the MRGL
    Call manager 2 is first in the list of selected media resources
    Selected Music file to play for hunt pilot que.
    What I found is that when I went to test my Hunt Pilot Que the music did not play.
    file was not found in call manager 2
    why did the system not look at the next server for the file and play it from there?
    I loaded the file on to server #2 and it worked fine. I assumed that since we have all 4 servers in the MRGL that if one failed(could not find the file) then it would move to the next.
    Am I missing something or is that how it works?
    Thanks
    Kevin

    That's not how it works, the order doesn't even really matter as the system tries to load balance the load between all available resources in the MRG, and it won't failover to the another MOH, unless it's out of resources (streams), not finding the file is not a reason to try another server.
    That's why you need to upload the files to ALL servers.

  • Cisco Unity Connection 8.6 problem with greeting upload

    Hello at all,
    i have a realy strange Problem.
    I want to upload a Greeting (*.wav-file) to a Call Handler, everything looks fine after uploading and i can also hear (Playback) the massage on the Computer and on my Phone. So i save the Config. After that i want to hear the massage after calling the Call Handler but i hear only "sorry, "CallHandlerName" is not Awailable".
    If i make some checks everything looks ok, i have 2 User with sysadmin-role - both can Playback the massage via the Webpage.
    But if i take the Phone and call the "Greetings Administrator" - there is no personal Greeting on this Call Handler - and thats my Problem.
    If i Record a new massage with the Phone (in the Greeting Admin) it is working - after Uploading a new File (Codec is ok) i can Playback the new file but after Calling the CH, i hear the Massage which i have recordet with the Phone - not the Uploadet. But on the Webpage i hear the Uploadet file.....
    Whats wrong????
    And yes, i have set this 2 Users as Call Handler Owner.
    What should i do??
    Please can anyone help me in this case.....
    kind regards

    permission java.net.SocketPermission "10.93.237.101:8443", "connect,resolve";
    If  get a permission error when trying to modify java.policy, then you may  need to set the permissions of the file to not inhearent permissions  from it's parent and not be read-only.  (aka by default the entire JRE  folder is read-only but you need to modify a file within it).

    I am looking for a way to reset a user's password automatically.

    Hi all,
    the goal should be to call an extension e.g. 1234 to hear a welcome message and after that the call should go to a hunt list. We have for this construct a cucm and a unity. I´ve have the following configuration: I´ve created one directory number on the cucm for exampla 1234. I´ve created a system call handler on the unity with the same extension. The system call handler includes the prompt which is playing when someboby dials the 1234. The translation rule contain the extension from the hunt pilot from the callmanager.
    Everything is working like that but the problem is that before and after the recorded file is a system message from a woman who said: is not available.
    How can i switch this system message off? anyone an idea? many thanks in advance.

    please share your knowledge, how to configure the hunt pilot which will forward a call to phone A in one time, then another time will forward to phone B
    thank you so much
    Regards,
    Acer

    Hi Acer,
    You need to configure ToD (Time of Day routing) to route calls to different numbers, depending on time.
    The following docs will assist you with the configuration.

  • Cisco Unity 7: Voice mail cann't get the name or Number phone of the caller

    Hi,
    I have installed Cisco Unity Messaging Unified version 7 and integrated with Exchange 2010.
    I have two scenario, and I want to know if are normal or not:
    1.       If the 2 IP phones are subscribed with Cisco Unity: the first IP phone call the other IP phone and let a voice mail. When the second IP phone check his message vocal it can get the name of the caller or his number phone (the message is: You have One message from XXXX) and he get e-mail as objet: Voice Mail from XXXX.
    2.       If one IP phone is not subscriber with cisco unity call other Ip phone subscribed with cisco unity and let him a voice mail. The second IP phone when check his message vocal it can’t get the name of the caller or his number phone: The message is: You have one voice mail xxxx; without indicate from!! and he get a e-mail as object: Voice mail from Unknown.
    Please, I want to know if the second scenario is normal ? if not, who to resolve this problem? I want that he indicate the number of caller same he isn't subscriber with cisco unity?
    Thanks a lot,
    Best regards,
    Omar YUNSI

    So for the 2nd scenerio you would want to check what your Message Subjects were set to.  For Unity 7 open Web SA, click Configuration and then Message Subjects.  Make sure that the Outside Caller Message has %CALLERID% in it somewhere.  The value %CALLERNAME% will return unknown if we do not receive a name from the PSTN.
    Try setting the Outside Caller Message to:
    %U% %P% Voice Message from %CALLERID%
    and that should get you your desired results.
    The default Message subject is:
    %U% %P% Voice Message from %CALLERNAME% (%CALLERID%).  So with that it would say Voice Message fom Unknown (xxxx) if it was not able to determine the name of the user which is usually normal from a PSTN call.
    Just to note, the From address is always going to say from Unity Messaging System, it will only be the subject that has the extension in it.
