ClassCastException inside WorkManager on every doWork() call
With every call to WorkManager.doWork() from a ResourceAdapter, a ClassCastException is being thrown as shown in the following call stack:

The ClassCastException is never propogated back up the stack so it's presumably handled internally and does not prevent the Work from completing. However a performance analysis shows that the process of constructing this Exception and filling in the stack trace etc is accounting for 10% of the overall load.
Any ideas on what this might be? I'm using the single parameter doWork(Work) method.
You are trying to re-invent Oracle Grid Control.
Even if it would be technically possible, the proposed approach would be
- resource consuming
- unscalable
- unstable and error prone
You should only implement it, if you want to go job hunting.

Call Audio On and Off with every other call
My wife both have the Samsung Intensity 3. We like the phones but every since getting them the call sound only comes on every other call whether going out or receiving. Even just yesterday I was stuck in the desert with limited reception and had to call 911 and the call sound wasn't on which was awful when I would only have sporatic 30 second windows of service.
This is my second new Samsung Intensity II after they replaced it 2 weeks ago and I don't know what the problem is. As I said, my wife has the exact same issue. And it happens everywhere we go not just at home.
I don't know what to do other than get another phone model.No the sound comes back on. On the second attempt at calling the sound would be on. My previous device did not have this issue.
Since this problem was constant and we couldn’t any longer to resolve the issue we opted to get a different device. We switched to the LG Extravert and now the issue does not occur at all. The phone works exactly like it should.
So I don’t know why the Samsung Intensity III was having so many issues, especially after getting another new Intensity after the first one did the same thing. -
Webservice initialized on every method-call.

I have written two webservices. One containing a EJB and a SOAP-Webservice and one with just a SOAP-Webservice.
If I call the EJB-Version the webservice gets inizialized by glassfish on the first call and then stays running (Constructor is not called any more) but if I call the SOAP-only service constructor is called on every method-call.
Therefore I have a deployment-problem with the EJB-Version: I use SQL-Server-JDBC-Libs in my Netbeans-Project. The get deployed to the server but are not used by the application. Instead I have to copy them to the servers lib-directory. If I deploy them with my Soap-only-service they work...For the Webservice-only I create a web-application in Netbeans (File - New Project - Java Web - Web Application) and run this code:

my iphone 4 is getting horrible service in Mendota, IL. I drop every single call and have to call back people 3 or 4 times just to finish a conversation. How can i fix this? Its getting really annoying and I cant upgrade to an iphone 5 until January.

2 mo. old Galaxy Nexus drops every single call and it will be replaced with used one?
Well, I am trying to get in touch with Verizon c/s, and this is where the tech support person sent me.
My less than 2 month old Samsung Nexus drops every single call - not 1, not 2, always. Been to Verizon stores who told me to call c/s and tech support. Sooooo - they are sending me a "basically new" "reconditioned " (read: used) piece of equipment. I am willing to spend $$ to get a NEW phone and/or upgrade. I use the phone for work and can't live with every call being dropped. It's now a joke when I am on company conference calls as to how long before I cut out. It's also not funny in that it is threatening my work quality by impeding communications. All I want is to get a new phone to replace it - not a reconditioned one. And I will pay. Just not the $600+ they quoted me which is what "Verizon fronts" for me for the 2 year plan. The C/S rep was nice - not his fault. It's a policy issue. But the C/S manager needs some help in his customer response skills.
Very disappointed with Verizon and I have been with them since the inception of cell phones. Too bad loyalty doesn't seem to matter. And I understand Verizon continues to sell this phone even though they know of this issue (they admitted it) and won't have a fix available until who-knows-when (I was told the fix is in beta mode and no one knows when it will be ready for market). Isn't it a bad practice to sell something that doesn't work to a customer? I think it is, and am surpised at Verizon and their lack of responsiveness to resolve my issue.Nomasvz,
I have had this phone since December and have been trying to get the dropped calls and terrible call quality issues resolved since. Been on the phone with Verizon and Samsung countless times. Was promised way back in March that an update was coming and if I was patient the phone would work properly. The update came three months later and it made my phone worse. My phone is like using a cheap walkie talkie. So they offered me a CLNR which I wasn't happy about but had to try something. Each one I was sent looked brand new but each had the issues of my original plus more issues. End up sending them all back and keeping the original. I think my issues are related poor signal strength and it isn't a tower issue. Very disappointing. There are others with the same issues. Verizon has not handled this well and yes, it also frosts me that Verizon continues to sell these phones. It has been a rather unbelievable and very dissatisfying experience. I was offered a CLNR Razr (not a maxx) or Droid Bionic as a replacement. That just isn't acceptable in my opinion. -
My Iphone 4 is now dropping EVERY phone call after 1-2 min. I just updated it, and it still drops. Any suggestions?

I'm using iphone 5s with ios 7.1.2 & I am facing a new problem after every missed call. i phone gets freezed on its lock screen. It seems that its main screen touch is not working properly. It should be bug introduced by apple . This problem occurs after each and every missed call .There is no patch announcement for this issue yet. There are few workaround to fix this issue: Reboot your iphone. But its irritating to reboot the phone frequently after each issue....

Automatic Passing of parameters with every RMI Call
We need the ability to automatically pass a couple of objects, both Strings in this case, with every RMI call we make from our clients (multiple clients) to the servers (multiple servers). Currently I'm using some code that Rickard �berg wrote a while ago that uses UnicastRef.marshalCustomCallData() and UnicastServerRef.unmarshalCustomCallData() so do this. I extended these 2 classes and rolled my own UnicastRemoteObject. This has worked out great but now I need to also use Custom Socket Factories, to get through the firewalls that our customer has. So I thought I could just extend UnicastRef2 and UnicastServerRef2 but when I do the servers never get
bound to the RmiRegistry.
We don't want to explicitly add these arguments to all our remote interfaces because we have a bunch of remote object classes and don't want to rely on the programmer sending the correct values or when writing new remote methods making sure that they these arguments are included.
We're using 1.4.1, but this also fails with 1.3.1.

Is there a better way to accomplish this than extending sun.rmi.server classes (which was really easy)? I can supply the source for my classes if it helps, though my UnicastServerRef2 and UnicastRef2 classes are pretty simple.
Mark.First, did you really bind the servers?
Second, does it work with the socket factories but without your custom Ref classes? I would suspect the socket factories here. Do they have a reasonable override for the Object.equals() method?

I got a blackberry curve 9360 at the beginning of May and now for some reason every phone call I make or receive is getting cut off. Internet works fine, I can still text but I am now having to pre-warn people when I get on the phone that it will be cut off at some point. The longest it has gone in the last week before the 'Call Failed' sign appears is 11 minutes and today it cut off as I was on the phone to my husband after 12 seconds. There is also frequent interference which usually comes right before the phone cuts off.
I did a blackberry software update on friday which lasted for 4 hours and for that whole time I was unable to use my phone, the day before I had gone into the O2 store to speak to them about it and received a new sim which seemed to work for a few hours but that's it. People on the other end can barely hear me and when I try to call people back the 'SOS' sign sometimes appears.
I think the ability to make phone calls is the most basic requirement of any phone and currently the service I'm receiving is both unacceptable and disappointing. I am also aware that blackberry has been experiencing some problems this week which they may not be able to help but it would be nice to hear from them in some way or to have available information on the homepage of the website like Natwest did when they had their system failure.If that's the case, i think the area you reside doesn't have proper GMS signals at all. Are you living in an apartment, or is your roof covered in concrete? if so try coming out of and try calling in a bare land area. Even if this din't work out, what is suggest is to reload the phone software. Watch for some youtube videos. You can do it alone, and if you messed up there, remember we are here to help.

C7280 caller id log prints afer every phone call can't turn it off in setup?
I had to reset my fax options yesterday. Now after every incoming phone call a caller id page prints out. Very annoying and wasting paper and ink. Tried to turn it off in setup but it won't allow me to. Everytime I select last transaction log or caller id report it just prints so I tried selecting help for each. Gives me a message that no help is available for either caller id report and/or last transaction log.
It used to print a page when there were like 30 numbers, now prints everytime I receive an incoming call.
Please help.
Thank youI can't actually find a setting that would control that. The firmware might have a glitch in it that's causing this. A hard reset should clear out the glitch. If it doesn't, a partial reset definitely will. The partial reset will clear all user settings and return the printer to a factory state, so it's up to you if you want to do it. I think it would help though. Let me know what happens.
To do a hard reset:
1. Make sure the printer is on.
2. Pull the power cord from the printer.
3. Pull the power cord from the wall.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. Plug the printer in and turn it on.
To do a partial reset:
1. Make sure the printer is on.
2. Pull the power cord from the printer.
3. Pull the power cord from the wall.
4. Wait 30 seconds.
5. Plug the power cord into the wall, but do not plug in the printer.
6. Hold down the 3 and # buttons.
7. While holding the buttons, plug in the printer.
8. When the lights come on, let go of the buttons.

Windows authentication on every ajax call MVC
I've created an MVC project with windows authentication.
From my views, I use Jquery to retrieve data from the controller asynchronously in order to provide a better user experience and reduce loading times.
These functions look like

Why is every phone call messed up with speaker or mute buttons?
Every time I get a phone call on my white iPhone 4, I hit with my cheek the mute or speaker button. Can anyone help me before I return this phone?
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
