Common Cost - Asset allocation

Please help with the following:
Our requirement is:
1) We have common costs assigned at the task level.
2) Our assets are assigned to tasks
3) Assets for the project are placed into service at various dates.
4) When common cost is allocated at the time of asset creation, it should only allocate part of the common cost that goes into service. For assets that do not go into service, common cost should be available for allocation in future.
I tried to work with Asset Allocation client extension. It does not allow me to leave any common cost unassigned after partially assigning the common cost to the assets that are placed in service. How do we leave some of the common cost unassigned for assets that will be placed in service in future.
What can we do to achieve the desired objective.
Regards,
Nagarajan

Hi
You may consider Projects allocations.
You could allocate the cost incurred at the common task to the various task of the project. The cost allocation will offset the common cost task.
Any assets in other tasks that is placed in service will absorb the common cost you already allocated to that asset task.
Allocated costs in other assets task will remain in CIP until you capitalize the next assets of the other tasks.

  • Common cost allocation to assets in service at different times

    Hi,
My client constructs large assets that typically go into service over a period of several months. They track some asset costs on tasks assigned to a grouping level of specific assets, while other "general" costs are coded to a task assigned to a grouping level of "Common costs". The problem is that when one of the assets gets placed into service, all of the "common" costs get allocated to that assets. This is resulting in disproportionately larger asset costs for the first one placed in service and a smaller share of those costs allocated to the last asset placed into service.
What is the best method to get these general-type costs to allocate proportionately across all the assets even though they are placed in service across several different months?
    Thanks!

    Hi
The problem of equal prorating the common costs is that task may still incur costs after the first asset has been placed in service. The other assets will also incur additional costs.
You may consider holding the common cost till the end of the entire project. That task should not be assigned to common cost, but instead assigned it to a separate asset, with quantity of 100 units. When project is completed and all other assets are placed in service go and interface the "common" asset lines to FA.
In Mass Addition split that last asset into separate N assets, where N is the number of real assets generated from that project. Now add the cost of the last "common" assets to the other assets already in FA.

  • Data Source to upload plan data for CO_OM_CCA_: CC: Costs and Allocations

    Hi Guru's,
We have Data source that which upload Actual data for CCA (0CO_OM_CCA_1 - Cost Centers:cost and allocations).  Every time it is full upload before loading the data deletion of previous load request will be done.
One more information required that i have checked in the BW cube for plan data it is available in the info cube for one cost center and rest of the costcenter i don't have the data now the users are requesting to upload the plan data for rest of cost centers.
Now as per the business requirement the users are requesting to upload the plan data in to the same i am not sure whether it will pull the plan data with actuals in to BW cube. Is there any alternate with the same data source or else is there any specific data source for uploading Costs and Allocations plan data
Please suggest me how can i go a head with this requirement.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Ganni

You can use the same datasource to load plan/budget data to the cube for all the costcenters. And regarding the actuals, you can use 0CO_OM_CCA_9 datasource to load to actuals cube and create a multi on top of both plan and actuals cube for reporting purposes.

  • Third party gratis order and cost centre allocation

    Hi all
I have a problem with third party sales. When the sales order is gratis, the cost centre allocation is determined by our gratis order reason. This particular cost centre is locked for invoice receipt posting (as it is gratis), and so we cannot complete the 3rd party process.
Is there any way around this - I can see in the IMG that you can create requirement classes for costing but I cannot see where you assign these requirements to items.
Also, I am not sure about the implications of removing the lock on invoice receipt postings.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Steps for implementing PM Order Cost and allocation Report

    Hi experts,
I would like some of the experts to suggest prior steps involved in implementing PM Order Cost and allocation Report?
Is there any specific PM documentatio other then help.sap.com documentation?
    Thank you
    arun

    Hi,
the CO-Sources (and PM is similar there) deliver plan and actual costs in different rows separated with the characteristics 0VTYPE and 0VERSION (this one separating different versions of plan data) in your case you will get in your transactional data:
ServiceOrder   0VTYPE    SWG (i leave the rest of the keys and attributes out)
    SO1000          20             15.000 €   for your plan date
    SO1000          10             10.000 €   that are your actual data
so what wil happen if 0VTYPE is not a Key in your DSO is that first the plan record is updated in DSO and then the second actual record overwrites this value becaus both have the same key SO1000.
You have to define carefully what keys you use in DSO to avoid this. If you can try create a test-Cube on base of the DataSource fields and look how the data are displayed in there because a cube regards all fields as key's.

  • What's the idea from using one of the Tasks a common cost "Capitalization"?

    Hi,
I want to know What is the idea behind using on of the costs included in the work breakdown structure as a common cost as a group level?!!
and Shouldn't i include it in any transaction?!!!(i.e. don't use it in the PO, AP invoices....etc?).
    Please i need clarification,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
In any project there could be some type of shared cost, that may be associated with a project as a whole, but it would not be practical to allocate such common cost to each one of the individual tasks.
For example, a construction project will have a task for foundation, plumbing, electric wiring, etc. The project manager, and construction inspector are resources common to all those tasks, and it may be costly to try and allocate directly the hours of those resources to each one of the tasks.

  • Overhead cost template allocation

    Hi All,
Can anyone please provide overhead cost template allocation configuration steps with print screens.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
Templates are nothing but a tool for complex calculation of formulas .
Templates can be used for formula planning , activity allocation or overhead cost allocation . Enviornment of template tells you what you want to do with a template .
If you want OH Calculation to product instead of a Costing Sheet .. use enviornment "1" for Plan and "9" for actual.
You have lot of pre-defined SAP complex formulas available in the templates which you can use..
    Template Creation
Enviornment varies with requirement and config will also varry , considering you are using templtes with enviornment 1 and 9 ( for Cost Allocation to Product )
    Transaction CPT1 :-
    1. Enter the name of the template and environment 001 2. Inside the template Type = Cost Center / Activity Type
    3. Description = as you please
    4. Object =   Use  the sender object .. either cost enter or combination of CC and AA whatever you need :
    SenderCostCenter = 'XXXXXX' AND
    SenderActivityType = 'AAAA'
or you can use the screen in bottom right to input the formula
    5. Plan Quantity =  Use the screen bottom for formula or use your own one ..
    BomItemAlternativeQuantity( AlternativeQuantityUnit =
    MaterialBaseQuantityUnit, ConditionField = BomItemComponents,
    ComparisonValue = 'XXXXXX' )
    6. Plan Activation = ACTIVE
    7. Actual Quantity =  Use your own formula using predefined SAP formulas
    OrderMaterialQuantityConf( Material = 'XXXXX' )
    6. Actual Activation = ACTIVE
    Assignment of the Template
    1. Create a OH Key using SPRO > Controlling > Prod Cost Controlling > Product Cost Planing > Basic Settings for Material Costing > Overhead > Define OH Keys
    2. In Transaction OKZ2 Create OH group and assign that to the OH Key created in 1
    3. Create Cost Sheet (only code and name) in SPRO > Controlling > Prod Cost Controlling > Product Cost Planing > Basic Settings for Material Costing > Overhead > Define Costing Sheets
    4. In Transaction KTPF assign Controlling Area : Costing Sheet : OH Key : Template Environment : Template
    5. In material master costing 1 view assign the OH group to the material (standard cost estimate reads this)
    6. In the master data of the order assign the costing sheets and OH key etc so that the actual template allocation can happen.
    Execution
Plan template is not required to be executed. At the time when you run CK11N or CK40N it is taken care of.
Actual Template allocation can be done with transaction CPTA - Individual Processing and CPTD - Collective Processing
I hope you would find this useful and you can further explore templates for the various formulae that you can define using th bottom right hand side in the screen of CPT1 to create magic in allocation. What I told here is very basic.
    Thanks

  • Secondary Costs Manual Allocation but with a negative debit for the sender

    Hi,
We would like to do a manual allocation for secondary cost (the sender objet is a cost center and the receiver objet is other cost center). The only way we know to do this, is using transaction KB15N, but with this transaction, system credits a sender object (for example, a cost center) and debits a receiver object (for example, an new cost center). Is it possible to do this allocation but having a debit (a negative debit) for the sender object and a debit (a possitive debit) for the receiver objets? We do not want to have credits, because the credit does not work properly for the cost splitting.
    Thank you really very much,
    Ariana

    Hi,
If I put the receiving cost center in the sender side and the sending cost center on the receiving side with a negative value, the problem is that the credit is done for the receiving cost center. For the kss2 we have not problems because all of the costs are on the debit, but for the receiving cost center when we run the keu5 we have problems because keu5 transaction does not take properly costs on the credit (it does not consider costs on the credit as negative costs on the debit).
Does anybody know how can we solve this problema?
    Thank you really very much,
    Ariana

  • Difference between Actual Cost and Allocable costs in splitting KSS2

I have Cost splitting structure results with me(KSS2)
What is the difference between Actual Costs, Control Costs, Allocable Actual, Actual cost balance and which amount will system consider for calculating the rate with dividing the activity rates.

    Hi,
In Splitting Structure KSS2 There are two Costs One is Target Cost (Planned) and Control Cost (Actual Cost)
In Variance Calculation U will See Target Cost (Planned), Actual Cost, Allocated Actual Costs.
    Target Cost = Planned Cost
    Control Cost = Actual Cost
    Actual Cost = Actual Cost
Allocated Actual Cost = Actual Cost of the Output Qty. This is Actual Credits from Activity allocation. This is Actual Credits from delivery of Stock.
    Hope you are Clear.

  • Reversing the Cost Center Allocations

We Executed Cost Center Distribution Cycles using KSVB and distributed the values to four different secondary Cost Centers, now we want to reverse these entries so that the secondary Cost Center displays the zero value. Can any one suggest me how to achieve this.
    Thanks

    Hi Amarnath
If you execute again, the old allocation gets automatically reversed
However, if you just want to reverse and not execute right now, then use Menu Distribution > Reverse

  • ISH Cost center allocation NCOP

    Hi there,
Using transaction NCOP I have set up cost centers linked to organizational units.  I have a requirement to assign organizational units to different cost centres based on validity dates.  For example, org unit C5 is assigned to cost center C5 from 19990101 to 20100811.  As of 20100812, org unit C5 is assigned to cost center C5SG.  When billing using transaction NA30N when the patient has been discharged, I would expect that the revenue up to 20100811 would be assigned to cost center C5 and after that, it would be assigned to C5SG.  However, when I bill using a date of 20100830, I see that all revenue is going to C5SG instead of being split based on validity dates.  When interim bill using a date of August 11, the revenue up to that date is allocated to C5 correctly.  The entries in table NO2K have the correct validity date.  Any idea why revenue postings do not consider the validity date on the cost center config and why they seem to be dependant on billing date?
    Thanks,
    Shelley Braida

    Hi Shelley
I'm sorry, but the system takes the billing date for cost center determination ...
    See include LN090F01 - form FILL_FKOMP_GENERAL.
        PERFORM fill_costcenter USING p_fkomp-anfoe p_fkomp-anpoe
                                      p_fkomk-abdat  s_tn25a
                                CHANGING p_fkomp-kostl p_fkomp-kokrs
                                         p_fkomp-prctr p_fkomp-aufnr p_rc.
the p_fkomk-abdat is the Billing date and is the date used for cost center determination.
IF you need to do another determination, from service date for example, I recommed to do so in the SD exit USEREXIT_FILL_VBRK_VBRP from the include RV60AFZC.

  • Actual costing: "not allocated" differences in second currency

Dear colleagues, we need your advise on the following issue.
We have Material Ledger (ML) and Currency & Valuation profile activated with two intra-currencies:
    10 Company code currency
32 Group currency, profit center valuation
Both ML currencies are equal in exchange rates (1=1).
Actual costing run in ML is not working correctly for manufactured products, if raw materials were purchased for any extra-currency, e.g. USD or EUR. For example, three-level BOM:
    1) for Raw materials (purchased for USD) consumption differences are equal in both ML currencies;
    2) for Semi-finished product consumption differences are equal, but in second ML currency they are not included in upper-level consumption, and present as "not allocated";
    3) as a result, costs are different in intra-currencies on the Finished product level.
Note 908776 - "Not included/not allocated and not distributed" - doesn't give explanation of this case.
    Please, help!

    HI,
Single Level Price Determination and Multiple Level Price Determination are steps that you will need to carry out as part of Month end close for Material Ledger. This is also appropriate for calculation of the product cost.
If you don't include multiple level price determination, the product cost for your part being manufactured in company code B in your example will be incorrect. However, if your concern is related to inclusion of multiple level price difference in revaluation of inventory, then you may need to introduce some custom code for reclassification purpose. You can refer to tables CKMLCR and MLCD for multiple level price differences and quantities.

    Hi all,
we are working on ECC 6.0 and we have the suprise to find a grid (Integration of assets and equipment) in the tab Allocations. The screen is 1170 from the program SAPLAIST.
But we do not have this screen in an other system ECC6...
Do you know where we can found the customizing in order to hide this screen?
We do not find this in the variant screen...

    Hi,
DId you try transaction S_ALR_87099871? Check if no integration between AA and PM is switched for your asset classes.
