Competitor Pricing

Hi Experts
I am trying to set up competitor pricing in SAP Retail but for some reason it is not getting activated and am not sure what I am missing. For your record, I have done the following.
1. Configuration: (SPRO > Logistics (General) > Competitor Pricing
2. I ensured that the List Field VORPR (suggested price) is available in a List Variant that I assigned to the article for which I am trying to define a Competitor Price
3. I created a competitor customer and created corresponding competitor prices in under condition type (VKPM) - this condition is not even getting determined in the standard pricing procedure (VKP003) that I am using?
Please advise if you have better ideas of how to setup competitor pricing.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi,
Have u created competitor group and assigned the same in Store against merchandise category.
after this u need to capture competitor prices in price entry.
T Code: CL01 Competitor class can be created.
T Code: CL24N for assigning competitor to competitor group.
T  Code: WMB1 for capturing comp prices.
Hope this will help u.

  • Business Catalyst Pricing

Hi Adobe .. First, let me say that I L-O-V-E Business Catalyst and Muse. As a 21-year graphic design professional that was forced into learning code (yuk), Muse has set my creativity free and I now absolutely love designing web sites. I have a Creative Cloud subscription, and I like that I have five sites I can host through Business Catalyst. That's great ... BUT ...
This morning, I decided to use BC hosting for the first time (instead of GoDaddy), and was shocked that none of the sites that come with my Creative Cloud/Business Catalyst subscription includes email. NOT ONE EMAIL ADDRESS IS INCLUDED??! In order to include email in any of the five sites hosted through Business Catalyst, I have to pay an additional $12.21 a month.
Surely, Adobe is smart enought to recognize that Muse designers will want to use Business Catalyst as the hosting hub for all their clients, but Adobe is NOT smart enought to recognize that you have priced yourself out of the market entirely??? GoDaddy offers hosting for $5.99 a month, and the monthly charge has been on sale for $2.99. This GoDaddy hosting plan includes as many email addresses as you want. Why would I go with Business Catalyst and pay four times as much?
Sriously Adobe, please research your competitors pricing, and make your prices competitive!! I would love to use Muse and Business Catalyst exclusively for all my clients and hosting, but I'm not going to pay 4 times more than I need to. Why would I?

    Hey cloudnine--
While Liam's post was generally condescending in it's tone, I think he has a valid point.  From a web professional's point of view, Muse is a great starting point for graphic designers coming to the web.  It's a great tool for a creative department to quickly generate working prototypes that are close to a professional website.
However, there's A LOT more that goes into designing and developing for the web that you need to know about for production-quality websites. Namely, advanced CSS authoring, cross-browser restraints and semantic HTML markup for the benefit of search engines.  Not to mention responsive design, image optimization, code minification and other skills required for the "mobile-first" approach which places a heavy focus on reducing network connections and bandwidth. "Mobile-first", responsive design for all screen sizes is the future.
I, too, have seen very impressive Muse sites but many of them feature 1mb, full-color, full sized PNG images all over the place-- slowing the site to a crawl. Sometimes, if people continue to use Muse and Dreamweaver's authoring techniques they miss out on the bigger picture of how to appropriately use stylesheets and write markup that search engines will eat up.
Using Muse and Dreamweaver are great for designers who are wanting to learn to code but I too would recommend getting outside of both those programs on occasion to flex your muscles.  You can create a great website with Notepad, an FTP client and a graphics program like  Photoshop, Fireworks or even the free GIMP.
A great tool I show people so they can play with markup and styles is http://scratchpad.io.  Peep it.
I believe there is a place for us all to coexist and some designer's code authoring levels are different.  BC and Muse are a great place for graphic designers publish websites using the Adobe authoring tools but to produce a standards-compliant, feature-rich website you'll eventually need to learn the best practices for HTML/CSS/Javascript.
You're right how most of us web professionals have crappy websites. Mine is too but that's usually because our paying work takes precedence.
Finally, don't get discouraged on this board.  There are lots of opinions and Liam is mostly harmless.  I think he just types too fast and his head moves faster than his fingers so sometimes his grammar is off but he means well and is one of the most active forum users here for BC.
    Best,
    Chris

  • Getting started with a new Integration project

    Good day all!
I am just in the beginnings stage of a development project for an enhancement to the CRM OD system. This project is related to the Opportunity and Product Revenue (PR) objects.
In a nutshell, here is what I need to do. We have a custom object called 'Competitor Pricing' (called CP from here on) which is a listing of all our primary competitors and associated pricing for related items. Due to the nature of our business, this CP is region specific, so indexing is on: competitor, product type and region.
Our sales people will quote multiple items to a customer, some of which they will win, some they may not. I cannot just call an opportunity a Win or Loose because, for example, if there are 5 items on an opportunity and we win 3 of the 5, then the opportunity is a partial win.
For the 2 that we did not win, if the customer purchased them from a competitor, we need to annotate that at the PR object level. This is the crux of my problem.
From what I have read, there is no way to associate a custom object to a child object PR is a child object). If I can get this association to work, I can get the rest of my requirements completed. I just cannot determine how to get the CP associated to the PR. Can anyone help or give guidance?

For most people, this would not be possible. But with integration, I think you might be able to get there. You can definitely store the associations in custom fields using integration. What you would not be able to do is use an OOTB link to navigate from the child object to the custom object. But, you should be able to create a weblink field that would link the user to the CP record, and either popup the information in a new window, or navigate the user to the CP object.
The link would need need to be based on the row ID of the CP record, and you would have to use integration to populate the values, but since you are already talking about integration, this isn't significantly more complicated to complete.
Good Luck and let me know how it goes for you. My email is in my profile.

    PRICING ELEMENTS
The standard system includes condition types for basic pricing elements, such as material prices, customer and material discounts, and surcharges such as freight and sales taxes. In the case of each element, you can use the standard version, modify the standard version, or create entirely new definitions to suit your own business needs. The sequence of activities is generally as follows:
Define condition types for each of the price elements (prices, discounts, and surcharges) that occur in your daily business transactions.
Define the condition tables that enable you to store and retrieve condition records for each of the different condition types.
Define the access sequences that enable the system to find valid condition records.
Group condition types and establish their sequence in pricing procedures.

  • Why is iTunes pricing so much more than Amazon

I am curious as to why iTunes pricing is way more expensive than Amazon for both music and movies??

I'm not sure why I even bothered to ask this question if I get simpleton answers like the ones from rominggnome and Mike Johnson12. Limos is the only one that answered the question with some form of intelligence.
Thanks for you input Limos - I understand that there is a difference in quality but I can't seem to justify the price difference which is sometimes up to 50% on many albums that I've seen, and movies on average are 30% more expensive. The format alone should not be the reason for the price difference, this should be advantageous to sell way more material than the competitors.
There are advantages and disadvanteges to streaming such as reducing storage space on your device; but actually you can download movies from Amazon and watch it offline using Amazon's free Video Player called Unbox, however it is not compatible with Mac or Linux and it is not transferable to iPod devices.
There is a difference between competitive pricing and gouging. I would also like Apple's perspective on this.

  • Folio fulfilment pricing

Adobe DPS could be losing much of it's iPhone business to competitors.
It costs  19p to deliver my 2gb ipad DPS magazine to my readership. That's competitively priced!
My iPhone DPS magazine is only 20mb in size. It still costs 19p per fulfilment. That's not competitively priced
Magplus base their folio fulfilment  at 17p per gigabyte delivered.
Sooo… I can deliver 50 magplus iPhone mags for the price of devliering just one DPS iPhone mag. Where am I going to place my business?
Please offer a reduced tarrif to deliver iPhone folios to subscribers. I'd quite like to stay with Adobe DPS!
    Thanks,
    Renny

Ah now I've been thinking this for some time, I have a range of kids education apps coming out on iPad etc and they are all around 25mb so not that fair to have to pay the same as a 500mb (or more) folio. I think it would be a fair assumption that Adobe did their sums based on comparatively large magazine folios and not small 20-25mb versions.
    Let's hope so
    Cheers

  • Adobe Unfair Pricing

One of the main reasons Adobe charge customers outside the US more for their software, is because they think they can get away with it. They know that as much as some of us grumble, most of us think there is little we can do about it.
In the 21st century it makes no sense to me that I can't download Adobe product for the same price as their customers in the US and while individually there probably isn't much I can do, I wonder if collectively we could organise ourselves to get Adobe to take notice of us?
For this reason there is a new Google Groups email list at http://groups.google.com/group/adobepricing the idea behind the group is to discuss ways to get Adobes attention and ultimately change what is an antiquated pricing policy.
If there are enough of us we may be able to use our numbers to get Adobe's attention by organising disruptive events such as calling Adobe support or sending an email to complain, although this would need a large number of us to be effective.
If you think paying more for Adobe Software because you're not living in the US is grossly unfair in a globalised world, please consider joining our group.
    Tony

All the products you mention I can find competitors products that do pretty much the same thing, in some cases good opensource solutions, this is not the case with some of Adobes product.
And is it Adobe's fault that this isn't the case? Couldn't it just be that competitors are lamers and don't half as much understand their customers as they would like?  I'm sorry sorry to say so, but you are losing yourself in vague accusations and cannot back any of your claims with hard facts that would hold up in a legal court. I mean, how would you prove e.g. a monopoly on Photoshop, when it has grown over two decades with no competitor in sight and people will happily pay for the genuine article because there simpyl are no viable alternatives? At that point, all your complaining becomes a circular argument.
My particular gripe is with downloadable Adobe product and when taxes and duties are taken in to account Adobe still charge 50-100% more for customers downloading product outside the US.
Ha, didn't I know it? You're mixing up the facts. When you buy outside the US, you do not buy from Adobe Inc., but its local subsidiaries who pay local taxes and other fees. If you buy in the UK, you buy from Adobe Systems UK Ltd., in Germany you buy from Adobe Systems GmbH. Not to think of resellers. All of those need to/ want to make a cut and pay a part of their turnover and revenues to the "big" Adobe. So based on that, how do you think anyone could find a way to force them to give you US pricing when they can clearly prove having extra cost for regional distribution? You'd have to sue or file complaints with market control authorities in 20 countreies in Europe alone. Again, none of what you say makes any sense. I mean, what's your point, anyway? Would you sue Apple for selling an iPad here in Gemrany for 699 Euros when it costs 699 bucks in the US, which is about 30% less in price? Would you accuse them to make any revenue at all, beacuse the actual manufacturing cost is just about 270 bucks and they make a whole lotta dough with these things? I really think you have a fundamental misunderstanding about "free markets", "globalization" or even capitalism in genaral because that what it is...

  • Pricing procedure of free goods

Could anyone please tell me the effect of pricing procedure in free godds? And what is the difference between pricing procedure in free goods(IMG->Sales and Distribution->Basic Funcions->Free Goods) and pricing procedure in pricing(IMG->Sales and Distribution->Basic Funcions->Pricing)

    Hi Wei Zhang,
When there are more than 2 materials say material A which is of some price, and material B which is Free of cost, then the item category will be different for those. TAN for Mat A and TANN for materail B.
Pricing is depends upon the customer pricing procedure and document pricing procedure along with the Sales Area.
When there are free Goods, Again yu have two conditions
    1. Give 100 % discount on free goods.
    2. Or charge 0 value for that.
This pricing procedure you can do in free goods priocing procedure.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks,

  • New VMS/IPC boxes - speed and pricing

For the most part, I've been a very happy FiOS customer. The internet side has gone out exactly once in the year I've had the service, and it was restored within an hour. TV has dropped out twice, both times very late at night (I assume for head-end maintenance). Reliability is better than every other ISP I've ever had, combined.
    That said..
I wanted to snag another STB for the house - found out the local stores had all been closed (I can understand why from the financial aspect, but it was still a shock pulling up to my old store to pick up another STB.. and finding a "for lease" sign, when I'd been by there 2 months prior), so I looked at options online. The new VMS + IPC boxes looked promising, especially since they added the ability for the entire house to pause, rewind, schedule recordings, etc, from any TV - instead of only the DVR being able to do that (though the old boxes could stream recordings from the DVR).
My chief complaint so far - while the VMS box itself is responsive, the IPC boxes are painfully slow to respond to anything. Picture quality is fantastic, but using them feels, to put it in nerd terms, like using a Pentium 90 with Windows XP and 128MB RAM. They take 5+ to respond to anything more than a channel change (and even that takes up to 3 seconds), and frequently "lose" remote key presses if you try to, say, hit guide, hit page down, then try to arrow down to the channel that you know is on the next page. It literally feels like a throwback to the earliest digital set top boxes from Comcast/Time Warner - the first ones with built-in TV listings in the mid 1990s. The speed is right on par with them; the only thing faster right now is they don't shut down for 30 minutes a day to update the TV listings.
I've gone through the built-in diagnostics on the boxes to verify signal levels - they're decent (not perfect, but this is a 20 year old house with mostly original coax), but we have no pixelation or picture drop-out, so I would think they could carry the basic stuff between the IPC boxes and VMS pretty easily. The router certainly has no problem handling the 75/35 on the same coax (speedtest shows 85-90 down, 35-40 up, with a ~5ms ping, no matter which cable outlet it's plugged into)..
My other complaint - why did Verizon move to "rooms" for pricing? I thought I was getting a DVR plus 3 STBs (since I ordered 3 STBs and asked for a DVR), instead of a VMS + 2 STBs - and I'm paying much more than I did for the old DVR + 2 STBs.
With the griping out of the way - is there a reasonable chance that firmware updates will help with the speed of the IPC boxes? Or is there a chance it's a cabling issue? (I have no problem pulling new coax or cat5e, and I can provide signal levels if that'll help) If not, is there any chance of getting the old QIP7232 DVR + QIP7100 box back (and adding another 7100), and switching back to what I was paying before? I know they're a bit antiquated (especially the 7100s), but they were much more responsive, and didn't make me want to throw the STBs through the window. It just seems really rediculous that I'm paying such a large premium (plus the "upgrade fee") for equipment that, in terms of the user experience, is much worse.
Again.. been a happy customer for a long time, but the new terminals are super painful to use.
    Thanks.

If this is the case.  I think I will wait till the bugs are worked out
Question what were you paying before and after for the boxes.   So what was the old DVR + 2 STB's and the new DVR plus 2 stb's
Trying to get an idea of what you meant by way more.  Most people said same pricing and a small $20 or so upgrade fee

  • How to update  pricing in open sale order

    Hi all
in open sale order suppose my basic price has been changed .how Can i update all open sales order basic price in one shot.

    Dear Sachin,
    Please follow the point as given below;
    1. In VTFL for your item category maintain pricing type as B if it is delivery related billing and if it is order related billing VTFA maintain pricing type as B and one more thing maintained Billing Quantity as C if you using VTFA and Billing Quantity as D if you using VTFL.
    2. Create the new condition records in VK11 for your new price ( Do not change the existing  condition record in VK12) with proper validity dates
    3. Use update button in billing the system will pick the new record by accessing VK11 in billing.
    Try this, it will work.

  • Free Goods with pricing condition (Urgent)

    Hi MM Expert,
we have a probleme with free goods. because in PO item of free goods, there is no condition management (no Invoice entry) but we should manage some pricing condition for the item (spécifique condition relative to transport, ...).
so are the any way of managing the expenses annex condition(transport charge, customs clearance charges,…) for the free goods in an item of Purchase Order ??
    thank's in advance.

    Hi,
This is not possible to maintain the condition s for free goods because while creating the PO for free goods by selecting the free goods tad at item level, There is no Condition tab at Item detail .means you are not able to mainatin conditions.
If you want to maintain the conditions ,you have to treat as a Normal scenarios .

  • Free Goods Pricing Problem

In our pricing procedure we have R100 and NRAB condition types. In sales order we are giving free goods(Exclusive). Now in condition tab for the free goods line item the value is showing as followes
    PR00- Rs 150
    R100- Rs 150(-)
    Net Value - 0
    CST- 4.50
    Net Value with Tax 4.50
    Rounding Off   4.50(-)
    Total value - 0
So for this line item Net Value is coming Rs  4.50(-) and Tax is Rs 4.50.
In header this value is adding or subtracting from the value of main line item and showing the final value.
So how can i make the net value and tax 0 for the free goods item, so that it will not affect the total value of the document.
    Regards
    Jyoti

    Hi Jyoti,
In this scenario you can use below pricing procedure.
    Step 10- PR00.......................................................................100 Rs
    Step 20  Gross Price..............................................................100 Rs
Step 30  CST (calculate on Step 20) From 20 to 20....................   8 Rs
Step 40  Net Value( From 10 to 39)...........................................108 Rs
    Step 50- R100 (From 40 to 40)..................................................-(108) Rs
    Step 60  NRAB........................................................................
    Step 70  DIFF..........................................................................
    Total       .................................................................................   0 Rs.
I hope it will help. Please check and confirm

I have just tried on my system and managed to overwrite the existing price by passing the following parameters.
      <b>Import Paramters:</b>
         SALESDOCUMENT - Sales Document Number
         ORDER_HEADER_INX - UPDATEFLAG as <b>'U'</b>.
         LOGIC_SWITCH - Import Structure - Pass 'X' to LOGIC_SWITCH-COND_HANDL.

  • Manual Pricing for configured materials in Sales Order

We use variant config for our goods produced and the pricing results from what is configured. Thsi works fine.
However, occasionally there is a need to replace this pricing with a manual price entered into the Amount column on the order line. The PR00 condition comes in OK but we find that if changes are made then the configured prices are re-applied as well so the order line ends up with 2 types of pricing in effect.
How can I stop this happening i.e. to get SAP to use <b><i>only</i></b> the manual pricing if a price is entered into the Amount field?
    Thanks
    Jim

    Jim
Are you sure that you are using PR00 for configurable mat, Ideally it should be VA00
Leaving that aside, if you keep the condition type as Manual entry as priority or No restrictions, in the Manual entries, then when the automatic entries are overwritten by manual entries, only one record will exist and the automatically updated record will no more be in the screen. Please try it.
There is also a OSS note for this, though I dont knwo the number. You can try for it.

    Dear Venkat,
Price will get determine in the sales order based on two settings
    1.Pricing procedure determination
    2.Condition record maintanence.
This may happen for two reasons
1.Different pricing procedures are getting determined for sales order and scheduling agreement.
One pricing procedure may have variant condition type and other pricing procedure may not have the variant condition type.
So check same pricing procedure is getting determine in the both documents or not
2.Condition record may not maintained for the scheduling agreement document type in VK11
So check the condition record maintanence for the variant condition type through VK13 transaction.
I hope this will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.
