Connection lost in the middle of a download

i'm new to this...itunes store downloading...i've only imported from cds until today...in the middle of a download from the itunes music store i apparently lost my connection and although the song is paid for and shows up in my music library i cannot play it! i've read some stuff posted and i don't see anything hopefull...if anyone knows how i can fix this problem PLEASE HELP!
ps i already completed downloading from the itunes store after my connection was up again, but still cannot hear my songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you actually authorize your purchases by playing them for a few seconds on your computer?

Been having similar problems intermittently for some time . . . NOTE intermittently - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't error message as before (connection was lost in the middle of transmission)
Changing from port 25 to port 587 does not help. No obvious correlation with time of day or anything else that I have noticed so far.
Any suggestions gratefully received

My info regarding using the yahoo servers was actually for btinternet email addresses
I use Thunderbird without problem,
1. What you need to do is to look at the main account settings (click on the account and choose the gear wheel (View settings ....).
2. Look at the item at the bottom on the right hand side of the displayed window "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" and see what is in the box next to it.
3. In the left hand side of this section, go to the bottom of the area using the scroll bar if necessary and click on "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" - same name as before, different section.
4. You will see a section appear, and remembering what is seen in [2], choose that item from the list (if more than one) and click edit.
5. The Server Name should be mail.btinternet.com, port is 25 - tick the box next to "Use name and password" and in the "User Name" field enter your btinternet email address associated with this particular sending account.
6. Nothing else is needed here, so click "OK" out of any of the displayed extra windows.
When you send emails for the first time, you should get a password box up - enter the password for the email address and tick the "save password" box (or whatever it's called).
Added: Of course, if you have more than one Thunderbird account, and use the default for something else, then you need to add another SMTP server with the correct settings as I've described above, and then point at this in [2].

Broken connection in the middle of large download

I recently purchased a HP laptop, Windows 7. I added it my wireless system BEFWS4 V4. It works just fine with downloading most things. But the connection is interrupted in the middle of large downloads such as a movie. HP checked things out remotely and claims that the router must be the problem. Is that reasonable, and if another router is required. Can you suggest something that will be relatively easy to install. By the way my home computer is running XP.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

It depends on what you mean when you say "lost in the middle of writing."
The only possible way to recover typed text requries Shaking the phone up and down... you'll see a prompt that should say "Undo Typing" with "Redo Typing" beneath it.
If you can possbily recover the text, the Redo Typing will show up. If it's not displayed, then you'll have to type the message again.

HT4550 I get a "network connection was lost" at the end of a download. filesize seems to be complete.

Trying to download a couple of documents from an iTunesU course. The file seems to download properly, then at the very end says that the "network connection was lost" and the file in finder has a .download filename suffix, e.g. Lecture 1_1.pdf.download. There are 2 files in the list that are doing this. The rest came down properly.
Is this a problem with safari or the download page I am using?
Any ideas about what to do next?

The downloads disappear when firefox shuts down in the middle of a download

In the previous versions of firefox, I could stop my downloads in the middle, shut down my computer, restart and continue my downloads from that point on... but that doesnt seem to be the case with 3.6... I have to restart my downloads from the very beginning ... can you help me with this problem?

Does it help if you remember Downloads: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember download history" ?
Also make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the download history

Firefox crashes during the middle of a download.

when I download a file the browser and Library screen sometimes shuts down and closes in the middle of the download... I have to reload the browser and then restart the download... I have Firefox version 26.0 ... I just updated to this version about a week ago and that is when my problems started with the browser and library screen shuting down and closing during the download...

To downgrade you have to uninstall your current firefox version, and then install the new version.

Wireless keyboard: "Connection Lost" all the time. Super annoying.

I have one of the fancy new bluetooth wireless aluminum keyboards (MB167LL/A) and it throws up the ghostly "Connection lost" popup every ten minutes, sometimes more frequently. The new MBP that it's connected to is about 3 feet away.
Is there a way to stop this? It's driving me nuts.

I have bought my macbook in April 2008 ad since then I have been desperately looking for a support "email" like [email protected] While I am sure the phone service is Great, I live in Mauritius, a tiny island in the middle of the Indian Ocean and calling over can be quite complicated We do have an Apple reseller here. But last time I asked them about the Apple Care Protection Plan, half of them did not know about it and the other half confirmed it would be applicable in the island. But it's not sold here. I bought the Mac in South Africa. Apple stores do not ship over here. Why not???

Why does Mac App Store log me out in the middle of a download of Lion and "resume" won't work?

I have previously purchased a copy of OS Lion and have been loading it onto each of three Macs in our home network. This worked fine for an iMac G7 and iMac G5, but is failing for a White Macbook (running Snow Leopard 10.6.8). Other apps have been successfully downloaded on the Macbook, so the problem seems to be only associated with Lion (which is a 3-4hr dowload).
When I log onto my Mac App Store account and select "Purchases", my prior purchase of Lion is there as it should be. I then select "Install" and it starts to download as expected. Then about 10 minutes into the download, it pops-up that it is going to log out and offers me the option to click "cancel" (within so many seconds) to elect not to log out. If I select "cancel", it continues to download normally until about an hour later when the same thing occurs, and so on. If I do not select "cencel", then it logs out and when I log back in "Resume" doesn't work in App Store. It shows that zero GB have been downloaded when at least 1GB have already been downloaded.
So, unless I sit there vigilantly watching the download for 4 hours to select "cancel" whenever it pops up. I just can't download the software this way. With a capped data plan, this has the potential to be very expensive.
Btw, I have tried the simple thing of switching from a WIFI connection to cable, but this had no impact on the problem.

Internet connection lost when the phone is used

Have had BT internet for well over a year with no problems, but over the last few days I have experienced problems with losing the internet connection. I have now pinpointed it to the fact that as soon as the phone is used (receiving or making a call) the internet connection is lost. Once the phone call is finished, it can take up to a minute before the internet connection comes back (ie. the Broadband sign on the hub is yellow while there is a problem, but after a minute or so after the call is finished it turns blue again). Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? There has been no recent changes to hardware or equipment that could be the cause of this.

Probably a line fault, however you need to check that the fault is still present when you plug everything into the master socket, just to prove there is no problem on your internal wiring.
