Could use facetime on ipad 2 in UAE, then updated to IOS6, now everytime I try ft it can't connect! I have tried resetting everything but still it seems a lost cause.

Same problem with me on my Ipad 2, intially on my UAE ID even Imessage was not working, got the error wrong password, after changing my Apple account which I had in USA Imessage works but Facetime calls but gets stuck in connecting for several minutes and than stops. ? Please help, most likely an issue with Etisalat but its unfair on us apple customers..a very important reason for buying Ipad was facetime

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.

My Wi-Fi connection failed while I was updating to IOS6.1... I can't use my phone and itunes indicate "the iphone software update server could not be contacted"... HELP!

Unfortunately, the drive is pretty much restricted without hacking it. That is, you can't stream its content via standardized protocols like UPnP, SMB, FTP and the like. After the latest update we've had to iOS 6, I was not able to use FaceTime, it kept giving me an error that I was supposed to wait for an activation code which never arrived, after that I read many solutions which included resetting the networks, which I did to try and fix my problem. What this actually did was to break my network settings an now it doesn't recognize any wifi signal unless I have the router next to me and even the it is difficult.
Now I don't have FaceTime or access to wifi with my iPhone!

Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

I'm having similar issues with my phone. I got my first iPhone recently, only had an iPod touch gen4 for a little over a year. Updated to 6.0.2 when we got the phone (iPhone 5) a few days before Christmas. When I got home on the evening of January 11, my phone would not connect the router anymore. I was able to get it to connect after resetting the phone and the router, updating the router, and manually connecting. That laste for a few minutes and then wouldn't work anymore. I live in an area with very limited service, we have a network extender installed to help, and I am barely getting a 3G signal at times.
My wife's iPad 4, my touchiPod 4, and all of our laptops are working just fine on the router. When I dropped my kid off at school today, I noticed that I am not even seeing the school network anymore from the parking lot where before I got 3 or 4 bars and could connect to their wifi when I was there. Today my phone goes back and forth between seeing my home network but not connecting, to not even seeing the network at all even from the same room that the router is in.
Hope Apple fixes this problem soon..............

i updated my Ipad2 3G to IOS6, as they mentioned that i will be able to use facetime over cellular network,
however everytime i try it over the network, it says i must connect through Wifi. any help!!

I am using an HP DV9 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium and the latest iTunes software.
I regularly synch my iphone 4S with my laptop & Outlook.
I recently got the message that an IOS6 upgrade is available & so I scheduled to apply the update.
Everything was running normally when, after the download of the update, backup of my iphone, & applying the update began when
suddenly, iTunes returned with an ERROR MESSAGE as follows:
The iPhone "Ramon's iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (1602)
Now, my iphone is stuck with the iTunes icon and the USB image with an arrow pointing to the iTunes
icon.
WHAT DO I DO NOW?????!!!!!

I actually tried the steps below due to the error -5000 I had encountered during the previous tries updating my IOS to 5.1.1
"Perform a normal sync and check your iTunes to make sure everything was synced in the right places like the tabs at the top of your "summary" when you plug in your iPhone to iTunes. If everything is there and all the right boxes are checked for the stuff you want to save, then put your phone into recovery mode by keeping it plugged into your computer with iTunes still up and running. U will see your normal power off slider screen, then a black screen, then a black screen with an apple logo, then finally a screen with the iTunes logo and a picture of a sync cable below it. Once you see this screen LET BOTH BUTTONS GO but not before you see this screen. Your computer will tell you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode, say ok. Then hit the restore button on your iTunes summary screen, it should then ask you if you want to restore from a backup and update, say yes.... And at the end of its restoring and uploading you should have iOS 5!!"
Then it proceeded to a reactivation process... =(

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.
