Does a LIVE person ever pick up for Prepaid Customer Service?

In 2013 I got a prepaid phone for my 84 year old mother and put $100 on the account. She passed away in late March 2014 and I have been trying to cancel the phone ever since. I went to my local Verizon store and was told nothing could be done until the account was 6 months old (June 2014). I went back last week and now they tell me I have to call Customer Service for Prepaid phones to handle the account. I CANNOT get a live person to answer the phone. The automatic customer service is horrible and it keeps hanging up on me. Can anyone tell me HOW to talk to a live person???

    First, I would like to give my condolences for your loss twinsmommary. I'm sorry you have not had an opportunity to speak to a live person about your account. You can try calling our 1-800-922-0204 number to speak to our post paid department and have them transfer you to a live person in the Prepaid department. Additionally, our store reps can call Prepaid to get a live person. Keep us posted.

    Can anyone tell me how I go about filing a complaint for poor customer service?  Funny when you speak to Verizon representatives they always want to know how the service was until you get someone on the phone who knows they done nothing to help.  Than they don't ask, don't care, won't put you through to someone else, won't call back, and leave you w/no answers. 

    Just hop on over to Google and try and find the names of some key players at VZW and search for their contact info.  It took me every bit of a minute to google and find the website people.  It has the name of some key folks and contact info...send them an email and voice your concerns.  Will it help...who knows...but at least you'll feel better knowing you tried...  Good luck with whatever issue you're having with VZW...

  • Does anyone else have this much trouble with Verizon Customer Service?

    I cannot get any Verizon Customer Service to answer me through email or correct their errors through their store or through the telephone customer service.  I have written to them three times with no reply back (although it says it will be answered within 48 hours), gone to the Verizon local store, and called them numerous times.
    Ever since I purchased three i-pads for my sons as Christmas gifts my life has been nothing but stress while dealing with Verizon and Best Buy while trying to get a jet pack added to our account through Best Buy and trying to straighten the mess out through Verizon. 
    My bill is so messed up, of course in their favor, and they cannot seem to figure out how to fix it or else they don't want to take the time to fix it.
    I own my own business and they should know that you NEVER just IGNORE the customer.  They eventually do go away (to another company).  When a company will not ANSWER complaints...there IS a problem!  I am taking the next channel up.

    This is what happened.  I bought the three i-pads at Best Buy because that is where we buy all of our computer products and it didn't occur to me to buy them at Verizon...Hence, that is why it went through a third party.  Later, I found out I would have paid a much higher price, according to a Verizon salesperson,  so I am glad that I didn't.  But anyway...I bought two jet packs with the three i-pads because I didn't think two of my kids had internet connection so of course, I wanted them to be able to use the i-pads when they opened their gift on Christmas.  I have a business account with three smart phones already with Verizon.  The Best Buy salesman attempted to put the two jet packs on my business account, but he said they would not transfer on that account because it was a business account, so he had to open a new individual account and that Verizon would transfer it over to my business account.  Right then, I could see dollar signs.  That is why I went to the Verizon store the next morning (Christmas Eve) to straighten it out before letting it go on any longer.  I explained everything to the sales person and he assured me that he fixed everything.  I explained to him that I wanted to add the two jet packs on to our account...and for them to share our 6 GB of DATA at the present time until we could see how much we used first.    Seems that one of my sons did have internet and he didn't need the jet pack.  I called Verizon and was told to return it to Best Buy and I would not be charged for it since there was NO USAGE of data on that jet pack. We returned that jet pack.  HOWEVER, the wrong jet pack was cancelled.  So the one that was taken back was not cancelled through Verizon (it remained active) and the jet pack that we kept had no service and was cancelled.  Was that Verizon's fault? Or was it Best Buy's fault?  I don't know...but it was not my fault!  My son lives out of town and he had to bring his jet pack in to Best Buy in order to get service on his jet pack reinstated.  So therefore, he went a week without service, yet we were still being charged for two jet packs...$ 50.00 PER jet pack plus they tagged on 5 GB PER jet pack, which is not what we signed up for.  The charge should be $ 20.00 per month to add the jet pack on to our business account.  We are aware that we can contact Verizon *611 to talk to an agent because we have talked to them approximately five times already.  I have emailed them three times with no reply.  I have never had a problem before this, but I never had any issues so never had a reason to contact them or deal with customer service before.  Jimfitzgerald...the reason people deal with a third party is that it saved us $300.00 from Verizon's price and we purchased these for 18 months with no interest.  Had I known that Best Buy and Verizon do not work well together, I might not have ever bought these at all...But we have one jet pack now that we added to our account and still are being over charged for the two jet packs @ 50.00 per jet pack @ 5 GB data each...totally ridiculous.  My son tried to straighten it out and was told by Verizon that we had one of the jet packs since 2011 and the other one since December 2012.  Finally, Verizon said they understood and would straighten it out...But our bill is still wrong.  How do you get them to answer your complaints?  How do you get them to understand?  If I don't pay our incorrect bill, they told me they will cut off our service and they are our business phones.  Suggestions?

  • Need a Forum For Poor Customer Service Issues, Like Yelp For Verizon.

    Has the customer service been getting worse since there has been less competition for Verizon and because they have the backing of Google?  Are they getting swollen heads that make it hard to have any sort of common courtesy?  I felt like I was dealing with comcast the other day, not Verizon.  I have ONLY been with Verizon because of the customer service.  If that starts to disappear, at&t might be in my near future.  My dad has them and he has no problems with customer service.  I've never had problems with verizon ever. Until now.  I would love to be able to get the persons name and customer rep number and report on a forum somewhere about  my experience.  Just to see if it was me or if this person needs to be fired.  Does something like that exist?   • Hp the worst brand ever! Worst support and customer service

    I bought the HP envy touchsmart 15-j001tx from Relaince Digital, Mangalore on 1st october 2013.
    When i reached home and opened the laptop i noticed a spot in the middle of the screen that was seen even when the laptop was switched off. It resembled some sort of liquid inside the screen. When i turned on the laptop it disappeared after a few minutes so i left it. On 2nd october when i opened the laptop in the morning i saw that the liquid spot had reappeared and it had spread and it was now covering the middle one third of the screen.. I turned on the laptop but this time it didnt disappear.
    I tried calling the seller and he told me to call customer care.. I called customer care but since it was gandhi jayanti they werent available. So i called them again on 3rd october and they registered my complaint and asked me to send pics and i did immediately! And they replied saying this damage is not covered under warranty. I called up the dealer again and he said bring it over.. So i headed to mangalore again (from manipal) and when i reached there they tell me that they wont replace the piece but if i take it to hp centre in mangalore they will give me a DOA certificate and then i can get a replacement. So i took it there but they too are dancing around the topic. Now i dont have a laptop and i dont have my 80,000 rupees that i spent trying to get this.
    I will fight to get either my money back or a new laptop but to anyone who is reading this... PLEASE keep in mind that HP has the worst customer service ever.. And Reliance digital will sell u faulty pieces and steal your money..

  • HP wins the award for worst customer service

    I placed an order for an HP laptop dv6t quad edition on the 22nd of march 2011. HP graciously charged my card and took the money out on the 24th of march. The tentative shipping date they gave me was for the 5th of April. I waited till the 6th and since there was no movement on the order status, I decided to call and guess what. The highly (in)competent customer service team couldnt answer why the order was delayed and since the phone line was so choppy I asked them to call me back. They however did not. I had to call them after 30 mins and again request the same information. After learning that nothing  was going to happen to the order for the next few days, I requested them to cancel. Now the fun starts, The claim that they can raise a cancellation request but cannot confirm it, There is a possibility that the product might be shipped soon and if it does, it becomes my responsibility to ship it back to HP. More over as per the customer service, it will take 24 to 48 hours for final cancellation and another 3 to 5 business days to refund my amount. Well that is not the end of it, I get another email that evening informing that the shipping is delayed by a week and it might take a maximum of 10 days and if I choose to cancel it, I need to call the customer service team and raise a request. This ticked me off and I called them again to confirm why my order hasnt been cancelled even after they knew that the product was not completed. They go on yapping for half an hour and finally I lost my patience and requested to speak with the manager. They would not let me speak and kept telling me that they will try and find the manager but they cannot confirm if the manager is available. Well after me standing on my ground the manager finally gets on the phone, Introduces herself and then gives me the whole attitude again. On top of everything the manager tells me that HP has not charged my card and its on hold with my bank, Fortunately I did check with my bank and they did inform me that the amount was deducted on the 24th and  it was not on hold. After I mentioned this to the manager her story changed and she agreed to expedite the cancellation but still it would take 24 to 48 hours. I seriously think HP should stop advertising for products that they cannot produce and ship on time. Unfortunately I did work with HP and its sad that this company is going down south, way down. Pathetic.. that is all I can say.

    I spoke with Microsoft Customer service, and the agent specifically said MS already pushed Cyan to Verizon, and he, as a WP owner on Verizon, was also frustrated that the updates haven't been rolled out by VZW.
    So bottom line question: Skipping Cyan? If so, what is the Denim date?

    Unfortunately the answer is unknown.  The majority of the Windows phone threads here are about this exact subject, and that says a lot about Verizon and their ability to communicate on a basic level.  You might get your update, you may not.  Verizon is in control and doesn't really care.

  • Paying the price for faulty customer service

    We were given faulty information by multiple customer service reps and store reps and now we have to pay almost $200. How is that fair? Our daughter got married and moved to an area where she could not get any data service and spotty talk service. She called Verizon a month before she moved to tell them of the poor coverage area she was moving to and was told that the cancellation fee would be waived if that was the case. During the next few weeks we were in two different Verizon retailers and asked about it and they said the same thing. We called customer service again the day before she switched carriers and were told that he could not waive any potential fee for us at that time and to wait until after she switched and that if a cancellation fee showed up on our bill we could call at that time and dispute it. NOW, a month later, we have the cancellation fee on our bill and I called in and was told that we should have called tech support to have them verify the spotty coverage before she changed carriers and now it is too late to do anything about it. NOTHING was said about that before and we were even told to wait and then dispute it. We have been Verizon customers for several years, have 4 lines with them and was about to add a fifth, but now we are rethinking our service with Verizon and will be checking into other alternatives.
