Dual screen : shutdown only one screen

Hi everybody !
First thing, please excuse me if my english isn't very good.
I've got an iMac Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz with 20" screen, and a videoprojector as a second monitor.
I would like to totally shutdown the iMac scree when, for example, I'm watching a movie on the videoprojector.
But I don't know how to do it... and I don't even know if it's possible.
With "DVD Player", there is an option to have the other screen all in black... but I can still see the iMac sreen isn't shutdown (it's not totally black).
I tried LightMe, but it shutdown both of the screens.
So, do you knwo what could I do ? Except put something on the iMac to hide its screen.

There is not a way to turn off the iMac monitor screen. This has been asked a number of times before and no one has figured it out yet. I just cover up my screen with an acmemade screen cover made specifically for the iMac. They put vents in the cover to prevent heat build up.

Dual Core yet only one is working win8.1

Since a couple of days ago i've learn a trick which consisted in going to msconfig , Boot , Advanced settings and selecting 2 processos which would make my computer faster.
I came to notice that my computer started getting slow , when i started "searching" for the cause i saw that my computer was working on 1 of the 2 cores that it has.
Since then my win 8.1 has been working nearly always at 100% cpu usage , how can i put the dual cores back to usage?

Dual speakers but only one at the bottom

Hi I have just purchased a tablet A7-50 A3500-F in the photos of this tablet it clearly shows that the speaker above the Lenovo sign is a mesh (holes in it) but on my device it has just got a blank plastic plate instead of mesh. is this faulty? I have taken a photo to show you what I mean. thanks

i noticed that in the quick start guide it points to this at the top as being a receiver but dont have any idea what it receives. i sent lenovo an email but all i got back is it might be a new bit to make it look sleeker. i was under the impression that it had dual speekers so im still none the wiser.

MDD G4 dual drives work, only one eject menu? No Show in toast/Disk utility

I just upgraded my MDD G4 with another DVD drive, (A much never DVD DL +/- RW drive, however it doesnt show a second eject menu, but if I double tap eject it does open the drive and single tap for the original.
It will read a CD/DVD shows up on the desktop and in system profiler, but it also doesnt show up in disk utility and toast titanium.
Is it because its not an "Apple supported drive" Its a Toshiba drive w/ lightscribe and HD (both of which I could care less just wanna be able to burn DL Dvds from this machine

I assume you are talking about OSX support? I am surprised that Toast doesn't recognize the drive, you might need a newer version. Try Patchburn.

Also, if you want ligthscribe support, maybe consider returning the drive and get one from OWC, they bundle lightscribe software with purchase of a drive, not sure if you can get the software separately, ask them.

How to darken only one screen in a dual screen setup ??

Hi All,
I have a dual screen set-up probably like many of you and sometimes I prefer to use LR only on 1 screen. That allows me to work on Photoshop or read my emails or whatever else I'd prefer to do on the other screen. My dilemma is when in Lightroom & I press the letter L to darken the screen around my image, for better viewing, it also darkens the other screen that I'm working with. Is there a way to prevent both screens from darkening?? Thanks Ron

Cisco Profile 52/55 Dual - displays video on only one screen after software upgrade 7.1.4

Hi,
I've upgraded the Profile 52/55 Dual system to TC 7.1.4 and it no longer shows video on both screens during a conference. It displays content on the second screen fine. It worked in version 6 so I wonder if something changed in the software or the endpoint requires some additional configuration.
I've checked settings under Configuration > System Configuration > Video > Monitors and it's set to Dual. I've changed it few times and set it back to Dual but this didn't resolve the issue. I can't see any dual screen option key added under system information but I assume it has a dual screen option hence it's a dual screen system.
Do I need to change any settings?

The system doesn’t have a remote control as such, it’s an MX700 so it has the 10inch touch panel, I had some engineers onsite attempting to bring the self-view image up using the panel but the only image that they managed to retrieve was a self-view PIP on the main image.
If I change the self-view settings in the configuration nothing appears to happen on the codec, the second monitor will only display the presentation, it’s as if the system is stuck in dual screen presentation only, even though when I set the system to dual screen, flick it back to single screen, set it to dual screen, back to the same situation no image unless there is a presentation being sent.
I have ensured that these settings are forced on the system

But no matter what I do I am unable to get the behaviour that I expect, this is why I have posted on this forum, I seem to think that the problem may be related to a software bug, however I am unable to downgrade as that would stop the control panel from working (this system doesn’t have a remote), and I see no mention of a second monitor issue reading the release notes, I have checked the online bugs and cannot find anything there either. so I am wondering if someone in Cisco has any idea as to what is happening here.
I thought about trying to use TC console to see if I could force a layout via this tool / or at least see what layouts are on the system, however the TC console version 6 will not connect to this system (I think this is more firewall related than system, as standard telnet and ssh attempts fail also).
Again I appreciate any and all assistance provided greatly, I am completely baffled as to what is happening here.

IE8 plugin opens only one screen

i'm having the next problem, i've got two citrix farms in one farm, when we start in ie8 we open a main application, it displays several links to pdf files. each file should open in a seperate window. On one citrix farm it's possible to do so, and on the other it isnot possible there adobe opens every pdf in the same window. the verions of IE are the same the only diffrence is that the working one is adobe 9.1 and the not working is 9.3.

I have never tried modding the Firefox window maximized to dual screen. But simply enough to let your Firefox displayed in both screen, you can minimize the Firefox window and just drag it across the next screen. Therefore you can let the browser displayed in both screen but not maximized.

How do I play a video in full-screen mode on one screen of a dual-screen Windows 7 system without blanking out the other screen? Not losing the other screen would be useful as I would like to, for example, monitor my emails whilst watching a video or to work on a project whilst watching an instructional video.
Note : Resizing a window to fill the screen is not acceptable as it still leaves unsightly borders.

How can I unsplit my mozilla screen? I want to see only one screen at a time!

When I open mozilla only one screen shows up. Then when I open another website from my bookmarks mozilla all of the sudden split the screen into one website and then icloud. Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

How to see only one of two displays in Snow Leopard Screen Sharing?

I am trying to set up screen sharing and find that since I have two monitors working on the machine that I want to connect to, two monitors show up on the client that I am connecting with. This causes a problem in that the scaled screen image that appears on my macbook pro is too hard to see and work on.
Is there a way to specify only one monitor image to appear in screen sharing?

On my Mac OS X Screen Sharing display, it has a display selection pop-up in the upper left side of the Screen Sharing display

My folders list on FF Bookmarks has expanded to cover the whole screen; folders titles are only one word, so excessive length is not the answer. length is

Two weeks ago I wrote that my bookmarks list had expanded to cover almost the whole screen; this was my mistake. I meant to say that it is the list of my '''folders''' under the FF Bookmarks menu which is now displayed on a much wider screen than they were originally. When opening a folder, the list of bookmarks is correspondingly wide. I have tried shortening the titles of bookmarks, to no avail. My folder tiles are only one word in length.
Navigation of this much wider folders list is also erratic and not smooth, as it was before this change occurred.

I want to thank Grospen for the solution to my problem. I started TB in the safe mode as he suggested and followed his instructions and behold I got the original start page back. I still have to add a few things but because I now know that I can get back to to the factory default settings I won't hesitate to try some of the options that are available. Thanks to all for a job well done.

Dual Screens - can you do it on the Essential All in One?

I have a standard Essential all in one.
I thought it would be handy to run dual screens for something I am working on but cannot see a way to do this on the machine.
