Electronic statement

We have SAP R/3 4.6c. Everything works just fine, but we have problem when our customer pays in his bank. We cannot post his bill automatically. We have 30 banks in our country, but we have problem with two of them. We cannot find the reason why is this happening. SAP should post payment eventhough our customer doesn't write invoice number (not clearing)? Bank account in customer master data is identical with customer bank account at account statement.
Please help,
thanks

this is ok. but, when i look list in feba_bank_statement I have only

  • How to upload electronic statement?

    Hi:
I nee to upload automatically electronic statement bank from bank portal to SAP. It that possible. There are any method to do that without people management?
    Thank in advance.

    Hi Paco,
SAP support some formats. In the most situations you do a down-load from the file and a upload in SAP.
To set this up you have to do some config:
    Set-up bank acounts
Set up bank codes and assign to rules

  • Electronic bank statement customer payment and invoice(s) clearing

    Hi there,
I am configuring electronic bank statements and wanting to "increase the hit rate" of automatic clearing. For this, I have configured postings, posting rules, etc. and I am testing on a bank statement we receive from the bank (this is ABN Amro in Germany) and all works fine. I see it with FEBA and the line items are posted to GL ok. I then configured the define search string for electronic statements to search in the note to payee our invoice numbers, which also are our document numbers, that the customers pay. I linked the search string use to algo 20 Document number search. I also changed the external transaction type assignment so that the appropriate posting rule refers to algo 20 too. When I use the simulation prog FEBSTS, it shows me all the documents found in the note to payee of all the items, and displays the document numbers found that match the note to payee for the few cases I have set-up for testing. All this look to me very good.
My question is as follows. Despite the above, when I get to FEBA to post/clear the posting area 2 of the matching cases, SAP links to FB05 and asks me to select line items first of all, expecting that I enter either the customer id, or the document numbers. I don't understand this, and I don't understand why it does not get automatically to the matched documents and clear them automatically. I very probably am missing something, but I don't know what and I am somwhat stuck.
I would very much appreciate some hints as to what to do to make this work.
    I thank you in advance.

Thks Ramesh for the hint but this did not change, although I changed this table so that it looks for BELNR only for all account type D.
When I hit save on the FEBA_bank statement line item to clear (in Posting Area 2)SAP brings me to the FB05 screen asking for either customer id or document no (invoice). If I feed this then it would clear the invoices I have prepared. What I would like is that SAP finds out these invoices by itself using the search I have configured which seems to work ok from the simulation transaction FEBSTS. Well when I say it works ok, this is because I see the invoice numbers that have been mapped, have been found. I also see in the Cat column the field BELNR, I see however that the column Partner remains empty (should that be filled with the customer number ?), and lastly I see that the last column Partner Type is a D for customer which looks OK.
If by any chance you have another path to drive me that would be great. Many thks

  • Electronic bank statement upload to SAP....?

    HI experts,
plz can any body pass some inputs on electronic bank statement.
we have received the electronic statement from bank recently and want to upload it to SAP.
we try to use the TCODE: FF_5 to import the statement.
but in that tcode need to specify the statement file and line item files.
actually whatu2019s that files mean ..Where we have to generate those two files from the existed electronic bank statement wt we received fromt the bank.
and those file should be in which format...?
plz advise i have not worked on the electronic bank statement before....
i have done all the related configuration settings in the system... i have assigned the external transaction type MC ( multi cash format) to My bank Key in the config.
if u have any documentation and file formats please send i to me to sandhya.rani at issconsulting.net
    thank you very much...
    Sandhya Reddy.

    Hi Sandhya,
For this you need to do a lot off customizing and testing, perhaps to imlement an user exit.
When you have activated EA-FIN you have more options.
The setup is different by country, bank, record format,.
Have a look in customing and click on help. There are some examples available.
SPRO: Financial Accounting /Bank Accounting/ Business Transactions /Payment Transactions /Manual Bank Statement
The first step is to look to your bank statements from the last year and write down all possible cases and how you post it. (Like customer invoice, bank transaction code XXX in the text you will found the invoice number, bank costs, interest, slaery payments,......)
Based on this you can set-up the rule's (customizing - User exit)

  • Bank statement balances is not clearde automatically through BDC.

    Dear Friends,
We are using Manual BRS in our client. For this Our client has requested to update the statement automatically.
For this we did a BDC progrm to update the statement. BDC program working fine. Because subledger account and main account gets updated.
But subledger account balances is not getting clear autamatiaclly.
Ex: when we pass the check to the vendos by using f-53, systom will generate the accounting entry is....
    Vendor account Dr
       To Check issued accout.
If check has been clear by bank, systom automaticallu pass the entry........
Check issued account Dr (ff67 or BDC)
       To Main bank account.
But while updating the statement through BDC, Systom is upadteing the amounts but those balances is not cleared.
If it is cleared by subledger, we can easyly find out unrecosiled item by subledger account wise.
    Please give me possible sollution.
    Regards,
    Dudekula.

    Hi Bramhiaah,
You could add the Intepretation Algorithm .i.e rule for clearing in IMG in the same T-code that you create Manual Statement transactions.
Bank Accounting-> Payment Transactions->Manual bank Statement -> Create/ Assign Business Transactions
Select the Int Algrthm that you want to use for each transaction.
In FF67 the same CHECT_KF field can be used to match different fields on the customer document. example the Bank Reference field or CHECT_KF  field can match with check number on the customer document or with the Payorder number depending on the Int Algorthm used for that transaction.
Please refer to the following link from SAP help site. This gives details of how the Int Algorthm works. Although this documentation is in reference to Electronic Statements, it will help you analyse which Int Algo and how to use it for manual Bank statement. The Int alogrhtms are the same for Electronic as well as manual. The reference field XBLNR is used in several algorthms eg: 001, 021, 026 etc. You can read the documentation and find out the one most suitable.
On the following link, on the left pane, click on ' Electronic Account Statement (FI-BL)->Using Electronic account statement-> Importing the account statement->Interpreting the Note to payee fields->Interpretation algorithms '
    Link:[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/43/0bd87b43de11d1896f0000e8322d00/frameset.htm]
    Hope this helps.

  • Bank statements

    Hi
Have a question regarding bank statements. Customer is not able to get them in SAP recommended multi-cash format from their bank. They only get paper statements, not even a soft copy (pdf for eg).
This being the case, electronic bank statements is ruled out.
The other option left for them is doing a manual bank statement - transaction FF67. This means entering values and transaction details for individual line items. They do not want to do this either.
This means that they cannot go in for automatic reconciliation.
What is the impact of them not having bank statements in SAP (either manual or electronic)? My opinion is that the bank clearing accounts will not have a zero balance at the end of the day.
Am I missing out on something here? Please do let me know your opinion.
    Thanks and regards,
    Purnima

Depending on the volume of transactions, I would recommend to the client that they change ot a bank that can provide electronic statements.  The labour saving plus fraud and dishonoured payments controls will pay fo rany cost incurred.  I cannot believe in this day and age that they cannot get electronic statements.
If the volume is not high, then using the manual statement input is highly recommended - as a consultant I would pressur ehte client to go for it as the SAP banking functionality provides a high degree of control, and makes banking simple to manage.

  • BEST BUY CREDIT CARD DEBT PROTECTION SCAM!! BEWARE

I, like several other BB account holders that have written regarding this same exact issue, have been scammed by the debt protection service - for over $1000.
Upon signing up the the best buy card, I was somehow enrolled in the debt protection service. I certainly did not sign on for this service with any knowledge of doing so, and wasn't "asked" by a rep if I wanted the service.
Very long story short, I had been charged for this service without my knowledge, to the point where I now have paid over $1000 for it. As others have pointed out, I am to blame for not being more diligent in regards to analyzing my electronic statements - but for my extremely busy lifestyle, that is the purpose of auto-pay. I know what my payment is supposed to be, and I trust that is what I will be paying.
Once I realized that I had been charged for this service every billing cycle - I began calling Best Buy regarding this issue. My experience was identical to others who have experienced this debt protection scam. They pass me on to several different departments until I am beyond frustrated and exhausted from talking with all of these people and re-explaining my story over and over. Then in the end they always say that the issue will be looked into and resolved within 30 days. I've gone through many of these 30 day cycles. At an escalated level, they conveniently pass all blame onto Citibank as the single entity that controls the debt protection - so all responsibility is ignored by Best Buy.
I've had a horrible experience dealing with this, and despite all of the calls and promises of it being taken care of, I am nearing the end of my time with Best Buy. They are not going to work with me, and I am going to pay for this service and be done with Best Buy for good.
I'll probably receive a scripted response from a Best Buy "Social Media Specialist" as all of these identical complaints have received - stating in the message body "Citibank, N.A. is the issuer of your My Best Buy credit card account. Due to this, we don’t have access to their accounts". Again conveniently deflecting all call for action to Citibank. And I promise that Citibank and/or Best Buy will do nothing to resolve, or even try and help.
You can say that I'm at fault and have to deal with the consequenses of unknowingly signing up for this service and not analyzing my statements more thoroughly - BUT isn't it interesting that so many others have had this same exact problem with Best Buy Debt Protection? Is it all just a coincidence - and are we all just ignorant people who can't manage their accounts? I believe this Debt Protection is set up in a way to do exactly what it has done to me. To take money from people. Upon doing all of the electronic sign-up for the account, it's convenient to sign up for paperless statements - and if you don't watch closely, they will slip and extra charge in there for you.
For all new account holders - or if you are considering becoming an account holder - BE CAREFUL! Once they take your money they will have no sympathy for your situation, regardless of what it is.

    Hello edgars-
Credit cards can definitely be a double-edged sword.  While at times they allow for greater economic freedoms, they also can cause untold headaches as well.  I’m sorry to hear that in this instance, the account protection service on your Best Buy credit card is the cause.
Depending on how long ago you applied for your Best Buy credit card, the option to opt out or in for account protection would either have been a check box on the application or a sign off on the keypad in the store.  It’s disappointing to hear that at the time you applied, this particular section was not pointed out to you to make you aware of what you were agreeing to with the card.
As you’ve stated, while the Best Buy logo is on the card, Citibank, N.A. is the issuer of the card and we don’t have access to your account to make any changes or refunds to it.  However, it is our goal to try assisting our customers with concerns regarding the Best Buy credit card.  If you can send me a Private Message with your full name, phone number, and mailing address, I will communicate this concern to them for review.  Generally they should contact you within 3-5 business days of when I submit this information to them.   Please keep in mind that I cannot guarantee any particular outcome from that review.
You can send me a Private Message by logging into the forum and clicking on the button across from my name on this post.

  • Customer-check

    Experts:-
When comes to the check from the customer, (for invoice clearing purpose) How that amount comes in to in our Bank,(How do we know this information), have any tool.(This is the my client interview question)

Customers can directly deposit their due towards our invoices in to our Lockbox account specifically created with our banks, that can be accessed at different locations nearer to the customers.
This account is dedicated to collect receivables from customers. Everyday the bank remits an electronic statement of collections during the day to the company. When we process this lockbox statement, the customer accounts are cleared, as the statement includes information relating to the customer account and our invoice reference.

  • Safari keeps trying to use Adobe Reader to view PDFs

I had to download adobe reader because my banks electronic statements can only be read by it. Even tho it is not my default reader Safari always tried to use it to read a pdf. I can't find any way to tell Safari to use Preview again without uninstalling Adobe Reader.
    Thanks

I had the same problem with bank and some government (FAA) sites.
Without Adobe Reader installed, they either would not download or would download a blank pdf page.
With Aobe Reader installed, you can download to view in Safari, but cannot save on your Mac as a .pdf.
[When Adobe Reader is default .pdf reader it hijacks the Export PDF option, including using printer driver to print to file as .pdf]
Deleting AdobePDFVewer.plugin from /Library/Internet will work, but there are a couple of easier fixes than deleting and reinstalling the plugins:
You can switch the default viewer back and forth (including Safari's default viewer) by:
Right click on a .pdf file and from the context menu select Get Info > Open With: (select Adobe Reader or Preview) > Change All and close the popup to set selected app as default.
If you have to use Adobe Reader to view a .pdf on the picky site and decide to save it - don't try to use Adobe Reader to do so (via Safari).
      Instead either:
    1. Option click on the site's link to the .pdf to download to your default download folder.
    - or-
    2. Right click on the site's link to the .pdf and select either "download linked file..." or "Save linked file as.." and save to desired folder.
I am not sure if this will work in all cases, but so far it has worked OK for those I normally use.

  • Configuration setting for bank reconciliation staement

    Hi
pl. provide the configuration setting required for BRS with TC
    Thanks
    shivaji

    Hi,
    Electronic Bank Statement
Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement
You should carry out Customizing for the electronic bank statement as follows: In Customizing for Bank Accounting, choose Business Transactions  Payment Transactions  Electronic Bank Statement  Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement.
    Create Account Symbols:
In this step, you create account symbols. You will need these symbols at a later stage to define the posting specifications. Before the posting rules are used, the individual account symbols are replaced by the account to which items are to be posted.
    Account Text
    AUSG-UEBERW-AUS Foreign out. transf.
    AUSG-UEBERW-INL Domestic out. transf

    TREASURYAUSGANG Treasury outg. trans
    TREASURYEINGANG Treasury inc. trans.
    ZINSAUFWAND Interest paid
    ZINSERTRAG Interest received
    Assign Accounts to Account Symbol:
In this step, you define how accounts are determined for a particular account symbol. To avoid you having to define a separate account symbol for each individual house bank account (each with a different G/L account and separate bank clearing accounts), the G/L Acct field can contain a masked output.
Act Symbol Acct Mod. Currency G/L Acct

    SONSTIGE + + ++++++++19
    SPESEN + + 479000
    Create Keys for Posting Rules:
In this step, you create the descriptions for the required posting rules. Each posting rule represents the business transaction on the bank statement in the SAP system, such as a cheque received, a credit memo, or debit memo.
    Posting Rule Text
001+ Cash inflow via interim account
002 + Cheque credit memo through bank
    003- Cashed Cheque
    004- Domestic transfer
    005- Foreign transfer
    006- Other disbursements
    007+ Other receipts
    008- Cash payment

    011- Returns collection/direct debit
    012- Bank fee
    013+ Interest received
    014- Interest paid
    015+ Payment by credit card
    016- Vendor direct debit
    017+ Treasury receipts
    018- Treasury disbursements
    Define Posting Rules/Posting Specifications:
In this step, you create posting specifications for each posting rule. The posting specifications enable you to define how a particular business transaction (such as a credit memo) is to be posted.
Posting specifications comprise one or two posting records Debit  Credit. The first posting record is called posting area 1 and usually involves a G/L account posting (BANK ACCOUNT  CASH RECEIPT, for example). The second posting record, which is optional, is called posting area 2 (CASH RECEIPT  CUSTOMER, for example).
Depending on whether a posting transaction affects bank accounting only, or affects both bank accounting and subledger accounting, you define posting rules either for the first posting area only, or for both the first and second posting areas.

Returns collections/direct debits are posted to the account for other interim postings, since they need to be postprocessed.

In this step, you create the names and descriptions for the various transaction types required. House banks that use identical lists of business transaction codes (external transactions) can later be assigned to the same transaction type.
    Trans. Type Name

Assign External Transaction Types to Posting Rules:
In this step, you assign (external) business transaction codes to a posting rule (internal), which enables you to use the same posting specifications for different business transaction codes.

To enable the bank statement to find the item to be cleared in the vendor direct debit transaction, the bank details must be maintained in the vendor master record. The bank statement finds the vendor using the bank details and the item using the value (if unique).
For algorithm 012, the number interval of the document numbers must be entered in the import report. For algorithm 026, the number interval of the reference document numbers must be entered (SD number assignment = XBLNR in the FI document). For further information on searching for the reference document number, refer to SAP Note 0107592.
The UNALLOCATED transaction results in the bank statement being imported, even if the external transaction code has not been created in Customizing. The transaction is posted to the interim account +++++5 (bank subaccount, depending on bank). Take a look at this interim account after the bank statement has been imported and post the items to the correct accounts where necessary. To ensure that the transaction is contained in the system the next time the statement is imported, define the new external transaction code in Customizing and assign an appropriate posting rule.
Assign Bank Accounts to Transaction Types:
In this step, you assign each of your bank accounts to a transaction type.

Define Posting Keys and Posting Rules for Manual Bank Statement
The posting keys and rules have already been set up for the electronic bank statement. The posting keys and rules for the manual bank statement are the same as those used for the electronic bank statement.
    5.5.4 Cheque Management
    Create and Assign Business Transactions
In this step, you define transaction codes for cheque deposits and assign them to a posting rule. You have to specify these transaction codes in the Tran (Transaction) field on the initial screen for cheque deposits.
Tran +- Post. Rule Acct Mod Text
    CD01 + CD01 + Direct cheque deposit
    CD02 + CD02 + Cheque deposit via interim account
Define Posting Rules and Posting Keys for Cheque Deposit
Two posting rules have been created: Direct cheque deposit and Cheque deposit via interim account. These rules represent two ways of posting cheques in the system. If you only want to post the bank accounting item in the first step and then clear the open customer items, use the Cheque deposit via interim account transaction. This is of particular importance when you have a lot of cheques and you have to ensure that all the cheques in Bank Accounting are posted by 10:30 a.m., for example. Otherwise, you use the Direct cheque deposit transaction in which the customers are cleared immediately provided that clearing information is available.
    Procedure
    Create Account Symbols:
In this step, you create account symbols. You will need these symbols at a later stage to define the posting specifications. Before the posting rules are used, the individual account symbols are replaced by the account to which items are to be posted.

    Assign Accounts to Account Symbol:
In this step, you define how accounts are determined for a particular account symbol. To avoid you having to define a separate account symbol for each individual house bank account (each with a different G/L account and separate bank clearing accounts), the G/L Acct field can contain a masked output.

    Create Keys for Posting Rules:
In this step, you define a posting rule for cheque deposits. The key determines the posting rules for general ledger and subledger accounting. The posting rule represents the typical business transactions involved in cheque deposits.

    Define Posting Rules:
In this step, you define the posting rules for cheque deposits and prepare account determination. Depending on whether a posting transaction affects general ledger accounting only, or affects both general ledger and subledger accounting, you define posting rules either for one or two posting areas. You only need one posting area if you post items directly “Bank to incoming cheques” rather than using clearing accounts, for example.

    Report RFEBKAP0 is only for electronic statements(statement "CHECK FEBKO-EFART = 'E'." in RFEKAP00 included in RFEBKAP0).
I have done a copy for manual bank statements; this version works for both manual and electronic statements; I made it because even with electronic statements, missing statements (due to problems at bank) are replaced by manual statements.
    - copy RFEBKAP0 to ZRFEBKAP0.
    - copy the include RFEKAP00 to ZRFEKAP00.
    - IN ZRFEKAP00, PUT IN COMMENT "CHECK FEBKO-EFART = 'E'."
    - IN ZRFEKAP00,
    replace
IF NOT FEBEP-VGEXT IS INITIAL.                               "882174
    by
        IF NOT FEBEP-VGMAN IS INITIAL.
          GVC = FEBEP-VGMAN.
        ELSEIF NOT FEBEP-VGEXT IS INITIAL.
    - in ZRFEBKAP0 replace "INCLUDE RFEKAP00" by "INCLUDE ZRFEKAP00".

    Hi,
    5.5.2 Electronic Bank Statement
Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement
You should carry out Customizing for the electronic bank statement as follows: In Customizing for Bank Accounting, choose Business Transactions  Payment Transactions  Electronic Bank Statement  Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement.
    Create Account Symbols:
In this step, you create account symbols. You will need these symbols at a later stage to define the posting specifications. Before the posting rules are used, the individual account symbols are replaced by the account to which items are to be posted.

    Assign Accounts to Account Symbol:
In this step, you define how accounts are determined for a particular account symbol. To avoid you having to define a separate account symbol for each individual house bank account (each with a different G/L account and separate bank clearing accounts), the G/L Acct field can contain a masked output.

    SONSTIGE     +     +     ++++++++19
    SPESEN     +     +     479000
    Create Keys for Posting Rules:
In this step, you create the descriptions for the required posting rules. Each posting rule represents the business transaction on the bank statement in the SAP system, such as a cheque received, a credit memo, or debit memo.
    Posting Rule     Text
001+     Cash inflow via interim account
002 +     Cheque credit memo through bank

    Create Transaction Type:
In this step, you create the names and descriptions for the various transaction types required. House banks that use identical lists of business transaction codes (external transactions) can later be assigned to the same transaction type.
    Trans. Type     Name
    MC     MultiCash

  • Bank sub accounts concept

    Hi All,
Where do we define Bank Sub accounts in img and what is the use of it.
I would appreciate if somebody could explain me in detail.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Bank Subaccounts are used for Bank Reconciliation through EBS or Manual Bank statement. Hope you can understand with the following explanation.
Configuring the Electronic Bank Statement and Manual Bank Statement
Electronic bank statement – It is an electronic document sent by the bank which gives details of the transactions done by the account holder in electronic form. The electronic document can be remitted by the bank in the following formats SWIFT, Multicash BAI etc., (http://www.bai.org/operations/reportingcodes.asp)This statement is used in SAP to do an automatic reconciliation. The statement is uploaded in SAP and it clears the various Bank clearing accounts such as the Chk out, Chk in account to the main bank account.
In our scenario we have following bank GL codes (Sub accounts) for our Bank:-
111410     ICICI Bank – Main Account
111411     ICICI – Check Issued Out
    111412     ICICI – Outgoing w/tfr
111415     ICICI – Other interim posting
    111419     ICICI – Check Received
Checks issued out to vendors will be credited to G/L code 111411 - ICICI Check Issued out Which is a clearing account.
Similarly Checks received from customers are debited to GL Code 111419 – ICICI Check received which is a clearing account.
When the bank statement is uploaded in SAP the following will happen:-
For Checks issued out – based on checks cleared in the bank account the following entry will be passed automatically.
    GL Code          Account Description               Debit/Credit
111411          ICICI – Check Issued Out          Debit
111410          ICICI Bank – Main Account          Credit
For checks received in – based on checks cleared in the bank account the following entry will be passed automatically.
    GL Code          Account Description               Debit/Credit
111419          ICICI – Check Received          Credit
111410          ICICI Bank – Main Account           Debit
Thus after uploading the bank statement in the system, the main bank account i.e. GL code 111410 - ICICI Bank – Main Account will exactly match with the balance shown in the bank. All the clearing accounts having open line items will be the reconciliation items.
Manual bank statement – In case the bank is not able to give an electronic statement then the statement can be manually entered in the manual bank statement and uploaded.
