You are right. When we are in support it depends on how we have setup for communicating with the client when there are some issues(tickets etc..).
you may have to talk them very frequently if your SOW has many task to do on confirmation with your client and sometimes you may have to do request loads may be in Quality or development and for this also you need to communicate for getting more clarity and confirmation before you take any action.
you may also propose certain performance improving actions based on the existing process..forthis you need to talk to client/IT manager etc..and things like this have to take care off..

    Does the end user of an interactive pdf form able to change the font style, i.e.: make something bold or underline a word in a text field?
    I am making a form with text fields and the end user would like the ability to make something bold or underline it.. I do not see anywhere in acrobat that allows styles to be changed.
    I have created the form in Indesign > saved it as an interactive pdf and brought it into Acrobat.

    Can any one guide me the minimum system requirement at client PC so that they can use
    Adobe interactive forms. i.e. what should be the lowest Adobe reader version and any other
    software needed to use interactive form as end user?

    Hi Rohan,
    SAP Interactive forms requires Adobe Reader 7.0.9 or above for it to display/work correctly which is also clearly mentioned in SAP Note 834573 (for your reference).
    Also, in case you are using the displayType property of the Interactive form as Activex then you may need to install ACF (Active Component Framework ) also on the client's machine in order to preview the form correctly. You should use the property as native which is available in latest versions.
    Also, Please make sure that the settings in adobe reader as: Open Adobe Reader->Edit->Preferences->Internet->Display PDF in Broeser option is checked, in case you are diplaying your form in browser.
    It seems, if you check the above things your PDF should work properly on client's environment as well.

  • End users are not able to save interactive pdf form created with designer

    I am new to using LiveCycle Designer and have created a pdf form but my end users are not able to save edited form. Does this have something to do with whether the form is static or dynamic. If so, I am not exactly sure how to use the restorestate option to convert it back to static. I also tried to enable the "user rights access in adobe reader" under the advance menu and had no luck.
    My end users have acrobat reader 9 - do I need them to download anything else, maybe professional.

    In my Adobe Pro I don't see the option Reader Extend rather I enabled "Enabled Usage Rights in Adobe Reader" amd I figured this was somewhat the same. So if I enabled this option in Adobe Pro already and they are still not able to edit the fillable text slots or save it what other option do I have in figuring this out.

    A) SAP BW end user are the users who are going to generate the reports which you create it in Query Designer.
    It depends on the requirement and implementation.

    A) BW end users play a very important role in the requirement phase as they are the one who interact with the BW consultants for initial documentation. And they will be responsible for the final sign off as well...

    A) Again it depends on who are going to view your reports... It might be business analyst, managers, CEO's etc.,

    A). I guess not, they are responsible only for generating the reports based on their manager's requirements... Everything is done thru process chains...

    End user training document could also include materials which users will need for working with SAP, whether it is a task-based User Guide, Online Help, or simple Quick Reference Cards.
    The training document could also include tutorial interactive simulation. It simulate the user's working environment exactly, thus enabling the employees to easily familiarize themselves with new programs and processes without affecting a productive system.

  • What Plug Ins enable you to interface with End Users through TFS?

    Hello. Currently I am operating off two systems; Managed Service Desk (IT Help Desk tickets) and TFS for more of our development projects. In order for me to get rid of the first application I need to find a plug in that will interact with TFS and allow
    me to make responses to my end audience without them needing a license for TFS. This solution (plug in) will allow my end users who are stakeholders to put in requests, bugs, user stories and allow me to respond to them through the plug in.

    first of all we need to look at what is catalog management before proceding with product and product catalog.
    You use this business scenario to create a centralized product catalog that contains product descriptions, multimedia objects, pricing, and associated literature. The catalog enables quick and easy customer access to timely and personalized product information, structured in such a way that most meets your customers needs.
    Product catalogs are implemented in sales processes and are of particular importance in CRM Web Channel for presenting your products in the Web shop.
    difference between the product and product catalog
    this is not the thing that product and product catalog are completely different entity.
    Product catalog :   A grouping together of products from your product master data, in a structured hierarchy.
    You use product catalogs to group together products to present them in the Web shop, Interaction Center, or in other forms of media, for example printed format or CD-ROM.
    You can create various catalogs for your products in the product master and use them according to a validity date. For example, you could use certain products for the summer season, and other products for the winter season.
    You can also tailor your product catalog to meet other needs by creating catalog variants. For example, you can create a catalog in English with the prices displayed in US Dollars.
    so by above definition it is very much clear that products are actually assign to the catalog,i will give you an analogy that museum is a kind of catalog and you add different pictures to the museum,in the same way you add product to the product catalog according to the acatlog variant.
    Now how you assign product to product catalog
    Product Assignment
    You assign products manually or automatically to a catalog area, depending on the catalog type. The product ID, product description, and status of all products is displayed, as is the information as to whether the item contains accessories or if it is a configurable product.
    Prerequisites
    You have created products in your product master in SAP CRM under Accounts and Products
    Process
    You select a catalog area in your product catalog, and edit the item list by assigning products to the area.
    Manual Assignment
    You can assign products manually on an individual basis or by copying a catalog area. You tend to choose manual product assignment for marketing-oriented catalogs that are subjected to editorial controls.
          Individual assignment
          In this case you select the catalog area in which the product should be assigned, manually search for the product in the product master, and assign it to the area.
          Copying items from catalog areas
          You select an area or subarea from another catalog and copy it to your new catalog. The system copies all products from the copied area to the new catalog, as long as they belong to the distribution chain assigned to the target catalog variant. From these products, you can then manually determine which products from the copied area you want to keep and which items you wish to delete.
    The following is true for manually assigned products:
          You can activate or deactivate items on an individual basis.
          You can edit the list of accessories for manually assigned products. The system determines which accessories are maintained for the product in the product master and displays them in the item area of the catalog. You select which accessories should be displayed for the product in the catalog and activate them.
          Manually assigned products can be included or removed from catalog views on an individual basis.
    Automatic Assignment
    You can assign products automatically to a catalog by transferring product hierarchies from your product master to the catalog areas. The categories, items, attributes, and documents contained in the product hierarchy are copied to the new catalog.
    You use automatic product assignment mainly for functional catalogs, where products can be copied with very few changes, from the product categories of the product master. It enables a standardized characterization of your products in the catalog.
    The following is true for products assigned to the catalog using product hierarchy transfer:
          Product categories which make up the hierarchies become catalog areas in the catalog.
          Product categories in the product hierarchy must be assigned to the distribution chain to which the target catalog variant is assigned. Otherwise the category is not transferred. The same applies to the items, texts, and documents assigned to the category.
          Items are always active and cannot be individually activated or deactivated.
          Accessories maintained for transferred product in the product master are automatically included and displayed in the catalog.
          Transferred items cannot be individually included in catalog views or removed from them. Instead all items of the hierarchy are always contained in the view.
          Lists of characteristics for transferred categories and items can be automatically created when transferring product hierarchies. The transferred values are included in the item overview of the product catalog.

    your query regarding the products you have uploaded from the R3,now as above i said how you maintain and create the product catalog ,you just assign the products uploaded from the R3 to the product cataloag created in CRM.

    Can anyone give me tips? what basic / important questions?

    For starters,
    DO:
    Ask them to discuss what they want to do with the application
    Try to understand their level of computer literacy
    Keep your conversation non-technical
    Continue to interact with the users during the design and
    development process
    Try to identify a "champion" with whom you can interface as the
    project progresses
    DON'T:
    Use technical terms or discuss technical issues
    Talk down to them
    Promise delivery dates until you have documented their
    requirements and they have approved them

  • How to run eCATT in dialog mode(foreground) without user interaction(Enter)

    Hi,
        As part of performance testing using eCATT we want to execute a test script in dialog mode(foreground) without user interaction like pressing enter at end of each screen. The reason behind this is we want to run a test script 1000 times in dialog mode to analyze the performance of that particular transaction code. Hence its not practical to keep pressing enter at end of each screen. We do not want to execute this in background as that does not simulate the real time transaction processing and give the exact performance analysis.
    We have a test script with VA01 recording and are able to execute it perfectly in background as well as foreground (by pressing enter at end of each screen).
    I would like to know if there are any settings to be made to execute the test script in dialog mode without pressing enter. I have referred the below link which has not solved my purpose.

    I never used this transaction before, but my approach would be as below. You may want to try and let me know how it works.
    Before running this script from ST30, first try to run from SECATT for one iteration to make sure the script and target system RFCs are working. Then try again in ST30. Still if you have the issue, ask your basis to take a look when you kick off from ST30 in the target system whether ST30 were able to successfully make the RFC call to that system.

  • Privacy issues for end user

    The interactive form I have designed will be completed by people who are very conscious of their privacy. I imagine that most of them will not be happy to email their data, as this leaves easily found "breadcrumbs" on their computer.
    Is there any way this data can be sent without going through the email process? Would submitting to a URL overcome this problem, or are there other "privacy issues" for the end user which may come into play?

    Thanks Danmaster - after investigation I find I have been using SOAP for some time now. I've just never been conscious of its acronym. So if I have been communicating between applications using a communication protocol I have been using SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol).
    I am starting to think I'm really clever now.
    Just because I have been submitting forms through http and then using CGI scripting on the server to convert and email me the results, I never thought that SOAP was such a vital component.
    So perhaps the LiveCycle Designer will just allow me to create automatically what I have been hard-coding for years.
    I really should have asked that "if the client submits via http through the LiveCycle form, will they be shown any hints that the data has been submitted".

    Advance Analysis is only for micorsoft excel. You can check with your contact at SAP (TQM / Sales Representative) to check other solutions to have analysis on Web.
    For the Analysis Office the only way to have informations at the web is like described at the latest reply.

  • Applescript keeps stopping for user interaction

    I use this great applescript for turning my indesign layers into photoshop layers:

    It asks for a folder to put a temporary pdf, then asks some preferences (indesing pdf export preset, color mode, pagenumber, resolution and anti-alias on or off). Then the script should run fine untill all indesign layers are nicely turned into rasterized photoshop layers.
    This used to work perfectly untill today i had to use the script again. For some reason the script keeps stopping for user interaction.
    Photoshop gives me the "Open" dialog box, then the "Import PDF" dialog box (not using the settings that the script asked for), the same "Open" and "Import PDF" dialog boxes for the next layer, then a dialog box to name a duplicated layer, the "Close document" dialog box, the "Preferences" dialog box, "Canvas Size" dialog box... you get the point.
    All stuff the script should do automatically.
    I'm not into scripting myself but it used to run fine without presenting me all these dialog boxes. Any help appreciated!

    Try putting this statement first
    tell application "Adobe Photoshop"
    set display dialogs to never
    end tell
    and then add the same at the end but say
    set display dialogs to always
