Export-import roles of portal 7.01 to 7.4

Dear experts
We are working with SAP NW 701 and the client are in process of update portal to 7.4
My questions:
How can export the content that we have  (Roles, Workset, Pages, iViews) of the portal 701 to 7.4?
The client not want update the applications to WDA.
Keep using the “old” WDJ XSS services by upgrading them.
Upgrading to / Implementing Portal 7.3 – what to do with ESS/MSS?
What is the best practice? Anyone to update portal of 701 to 74 that can help me with this doubts?
Regards

We are workig with ERP 6.0 ehp 6
My question is:
If I export the content of Roles, Workset, Page, iview of the  source portal 701 to target portal 74 , this work?
In the source portal 701 we use in this moment the BP ESS 1.41 & BP MSS 1.41 and have worked  fine.
The note say that we should use this in the target portal 7.4
BP ESS 1.41
BP MSS 1.41
SAP_ESS 633
SAP PCUI_GP 633
SAP_MSS 630
The proccess is
Install SAP portal 7.4
Install (BP  ESS 1.41,BP MSS 1.41,SAP_ESS 633,SAP PCUI_GP 633,SAP_MSS 630)
Export  the content of Roles, Workset, Page, iview of the  source portal 701 to target portal 74??
Thanks

The recommended way is to export the User Manager configuration template out (using the AdminUI), import it into your new enviroment (again using the AdminUI - you have to type the password of the LDAP user in since it is not exported) and then initiating an LDAP Synch.

  • Export/import utility for portals: opeasst ; where to launch from?

    hi all
does this script opeasst.csh have to be run from infra home or the midtier home? i think for exports of pages and portlets from 904, the CH 10 on export/import requires us to launch export from the mid-tier.
however, if i set up the midtier as my home, and intend to use the opeasst.csh, i do not see this script sitting in the directory where it's been suggested to reside:
    ORACLE_HOME\portal\admin\plsql\wwu
instead it is in the ORACLE-infra home:
    ORACLE_HOME\portal\admin\plsql\wwu
    please help. it is URGENT.
I am using OracleAS 10g Portals 9.0.4 version.

I've been doing some runs and had typical DB export's at about 12 GB per hour (compressed to ~7GB file). Typical DB I/0 bottle neck loosened by using different file system/disk to point export at than where the DB data files reside (CPU ~80% of single CPU)
now the import is a bigger item.

  • Best practice metadata export/import  for WebCenter portal

    Hi
I'm using JDeveloper to build the WebCenter portal. When I let's say register a portlet producer along with my portal, the information about it is stored in the metadata. In case I want to move my portal from the integrated WLS which JDeveloper provides to another WebLogic server with WebCenter installation - steps which I need to do are:
    1) Export the metadata from JDeveloper
    2) Import metadata to my target Weblogic server
    3) deploy the application
    Am I missing something?
To export/import metadata from JDeveloper to another Weblogic (equipped with WebCenter) server I should use the WLST script, right?

  • Portal Export / Import Problems

I'm trying to export a Portal application from a solaris development machine running Portal 3.0.7 to a solaris production machine running 3.0.8 and I'm having problems.
As a starter I thought I'd try just the Login Server and the Security bits in that order.
Everything seems to go okay with both the export and import using ssoexp.csh/ssoimp.csh and secexp.csh/secimp.csh but when I navigate to the new production site and try to login with one of the usernames and passwords that should have been imported, I get an authentication failure.
    Any ideas ?

From the output you can see that there is data being imported for the Portal users but not OPDSTATS the user I wish to use, and have created on my development site.

The logon user OPDSTATS uses a schema called OPDUSER that is not created on the database after import of both Login Server and Security.
I can however logon as portal30 and have tried updating the table WWUTL_SSO_TX_PERSON$ with the portal30 encrypted password for the opdstats user, again this was unsuccessful.
    Any idea anyone ?

  • Weblogic 8.1.6-  how to export/import  visitors role

    Hi,
I am using weblogic 8.1.6. I have 2 web application in the same portal admin . one of the web application is fully configured and running. I want to use the same visitor role of the first web application in the second one .
so please guide me how to export visitor role from one web application and import into the another web application in the same environment/same portal admin.
    Thanks in Adnvance..... :)

    Hi All,
I did analysis on application code migration from 8.1 t o11g.
If Application developed using JPF framework of Weblogic 8.1 workshop then there is no direct migration to 11g. Since the JPF Beehive controls are deprecated in 11g and ADF or JSF is suggested to use. In this case we can migrate Weblogic 81. Application code to 10g using upgrade tool which is available in 10g(10.3.0).
    Weblogic 10g workshop -> Import -> Others -> Weblogic 8.1 workshop application.
Oracle is suggesting to migrate JPF applications into JSF or ADF framework but if application is big and you can migrate to 10g for sometime and then slowly you can migrate into other frameworks.
    Thanks,
    Ranganathan.

  • Export / import tablespace with all objects (datas, users, roles)

Hi, i have a problem or question to the topic export / import tablespace.
On the one hand, i have a database 10g (A) and on the other hand, a database 11g (B).
On A there is a tablespace called PRO.
    Furthermore 3 Users:
PRO_Main - contains the datas - Tablespace PRO
    PRO_Users1 with a role PRO_UROLE - Tablespace PRO
    PRO_Users2 with a role PRO_UROLE - Tablespace PRO
Now, i want to transfer the whole tablespace PRO (included users PRO_MAIN, PRO_USER1, PRO_User2 and the role PRO_UROLE) from A to B.
On B, I 've created the user PRO_Main and the tablespace PRO.
    On A , i execute following statement:
    expdp PRO_Main/XXX TABLESPACES=PRO DIRECTORY=backup_datapump DUMPFILE=TSpro.dmp LOGFILE=TSpro.log
    On B:
    impdp PRO_Main/XXX TABLESPACES=PRO DIRECTORY=backup_datapump DUMPFILE=TSpro.dmp LOGFILE=TSpro.log
    Result:
The User PRO_Main was imported with all the datas.
    But i 'm missing PRO_USER1, PRO_User2 and the role PRO_UROLE...
I assume, i 've used wrong parameters in my expd and / or impdp.
It would be nice, if anybody can give me a hint.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Frank

When you do a TABLESPACE mode export by specifying just the tablespaces, then all that gets exported are the tables and their dependent objects. The users, roles, and the tablespace definitions themselves don't get exported.
When you do a SCHEMA mode export by specifying the schemas, you will get the schema definitions (if the schema running the export is privied) and all of the objects that the schema owns. The schema does not own roles or tablespace definitions.
In your case, you want to move
    1. schemas - which you already created 1 on your target database
    2. roles
    3. everything in the tablespaces owned by multiple schemas.
There is no 1 export/import command that will do this. This is how i would do this:
1 - move the schema definitions
    a. you can either create these manually or
    b1. expdp schemas=<your list of schemas> include=user
b2 impdp the results from b1.
    2. move the roles
    expdp full=y include=role ...
remember, this will include all roles. If you want to limit what gets exported, then use:
    include=role:"in ('ROLE1', 'ROLE2', ETC.)
    impdo the roles just exported
    3. move the user information
    a. If you want to move all of the schema's objects like functions, packages, etc, then you need to use a schema mode
    export
    expdp user/password schemas=a,b,c ...
    b. If you want to move only the objects in those tablespaces, then use the tablespace export
    expdp user/password tablespaces=tbs1, tbs2, ...
    c. import the dumpfile generated in step 3
    impdp user/password ...
    Hope this helps.

  • Export/import portal favorites

Hi, we have NW2004 Portal SP16.  Is it possible to export/import portal favorites between users?  The reason I asked is that we are planning on using 2 LDAP data sources in production and some users will be migrated in Active Directory from companyA.com to companyB.com.  We noticed in our development environment that the favorites are gone.
    Thanks in advance

I asked OSS and they said :
you should be able to transport these as an
offline package using ICE. It should simply be a case of transporting
over the userhome directory. However, please insure that the user is
a system principal and has full control of all the userhome
directories otherwise you may experience problems with permissions.
Please see the link below regarding transporting Offline content in ICE

  • How to make export/import of an Enterprise portal application flexible?

    Hi,
I've created simple portal using Portal Content Studio. The portal contains lots of URL iViews that shows some parts of the UI of a third party product deployed on the same NetWeaver App server.
If the portal is exported and afterwards it is imported at Enterprise portal on another machine - all the URLs should be modified according to the new hostname and port of the Netweaver App.
Is there a way to pass the host name+port as parameters, so these should be defined only once, when importing at new location - not to modify the location for each URL iView?
    Thanks

    Sam,
You should use an AppIntegrator iView to do this. It references a System Definition (of type com.sap.portal.httpconnectivity.urlsystem) in the PCD and allows you to build the URL from the System Definition properties. You need a
To create an AppIntegrator iView create an iView from the PAR called 'com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap' and choose the 'Generic' template option
The iView property 'System' should contain the alias of the System Definition, and you can use the following syntax to generate the URL by setting the URL template property to something like this:
    <Protocol>://<HostAddress>:<Port>/some/path?user=<User.Name[UPR_CASE]>&
      url= <HomeServer.url<a href="ENCODE UPPERCASE">>

  • Portal Export Import with DB on different OS

    Hi All,
I have a quick question about exporting the OracleAS Portal Metadata Repository database. Our source DB is on a different OS to our target DB.
We are going to apply the 10.1.2.3 patch and associated portal export/import patches to both nodes (from note 263995.1).
Our understanding was that we would use the method described in Chapter 10 of the Portal 10.1.4 Admin Guide (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_18/portal.1014/b19305/cg_imex.htm).
However, according to metalink note#276620.1, because our source and target OS are different, we should use the database export/import methodology that is described in Chapter 11 of the Application Server 10.1.2 Admin Guide (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_18/core.1012/b13995/prodtest.htm).
Could anyone tell me which way is better, we would prefer to use the database export/import method, has anyone tried this and what are their experiences.
    Regards,
    Tim.

    Regards,
Tim.As far as your referred Metalink note is concerned, it gives you three options to move your repository with if you are working with 10.1.4 Portal.
It's a difference of can, should and must.
    - It only shows ability to use three options ( can );
    - on the whole, it does not give preferences for any method ( should );
    - nor does it put a requirement for any single option ( must ).
( the only requirement/prohibition is for the option 2 which is not supported ).
we have used the first three methods given on the note (yes, we also tried 2; this note came later). 1 is what we use regularly for transports between environments; and 3 we use for environment staging (as given in chap 11 of pt. 3). both can be messy with a large repository (we do so for about ~400 GB) repository. but following that supportability guide (Metalink Note 333867.1), method 1 works too.
    hope that helps!

  • Export /Import of Portal -Urgent -Attn Product Mgr Group

I m planning to move my current portal database to other box (Win2000-> HP)and keeping apache and portal tec stack on current box.
Which of following method is safe and tested.
    1. Export whole data base (8.1.7.3) and import it as a full data base on target box.
2.Or export it user wise. All users ,specially portal%.
Please advice how to clone or migrate from deployement to test server.Different documentaion says different things. In document named "Import export in portal', they say portal30 can not be exported. While in Document "Migration of Portal Across Datbases" they suggested to export all schemas related to portal. In portal forum some users mentioned that they migrated from deployment to test/development using full database export ,saying that oracle suggests this, but there is no recovery method for it.
My second objective is to seprate apache from database.Keeping existing apache on NT box (current instance) and data(portal schemas) on HP box.
Is there any thing else to be done except modifying DAD on current apache.
    Thanks

You can do the following to export your portal objects alone (I am talking wrt 30982) . Do it in that order please.
    1. Go to the WWU directory where you will find the scripts related to export/import.
    2. First run the SSOEXP utility for exporting all the users and groups. (The result is a dump say sso.dmp)
    2. Next, run the SECEXP utility for exporting all the previliges of all the users on different objects. (The result is sec.dmp)
    3. Then run the APPEXP utility for exporting your applications, you could give the "-security" option here as well (The result is app.dmp)
    4. Run the PAGEEXP utility for exporting your pages (This gives pages.dmp).
    5. Lastly run the CONTEXP utility for exporting your content areas (This results in contarea.dmp)
These five dumps can be supplied to the corresponding import utilities for importing your stuff.
But, if you are planning to export/import the entire database, then please enquire with the RDBMS migration experts about this.
    Hope this helps.
