Fixed Payment Terms & February

We have configured fixed payment terms for each day of the month to allo our pre-authorized payment customers the flexibility to pay on the date they prefer.  We've created our payment terms to ensure that if the billing takes place after the fixed due date, and the bill assumes a due date of the fixed date + 1 month.
Example: Portion 17 = ZF26 (Fixed Date of the 26th of the month)
It will bill Jan 27, and the bill will automatically withdrawn on Feb 26th
We have now come across an issue with February.  Portion 17 bills on the 24th of the month - because February is a short month and the payment term does not add a month when the due date is prior to the bill date.  So, when it bills on the 24th, the invoice assumes a due date of February 26th, and our customer will no whave two bill amounts coming out of their account on the 26th of February (the Jan 27 bill and Feb 24 bill).
We can't just always add 1 month to the due date because we have customers billed in portion 2 on the 3rd of the month who can have payment terms of ZF26 and that should be the same month as the bill, not the following month.
Does anyone have any experience in configuring fixed payment terms for February?
Thanks  ...

You are describing the challenge that standard proxy payment terms addresses.  The idea behind proxy terms is as follows:
If invoice is created before 15th of current month, then it is due 25th of current month.
If invoice is created after 15th of current month, then it is due  25th of following month.
You can define 3 staggered dates eg up to 10th, 11th thru 20th, 21st and up.
This is all done in standard FI terms configuration.

bill.

    Hi
Goto VD02 and open the customer master record. In the Billing tab - payment terms field, give the payment terms value and save the changes. Now if you create a sales order for this customer, the payment terms will be defaulted automatically.

    Hi
This can be acheived using the Field selction control.
Check the field selction key for the PO document type.
    SPRO-> Materials Management-> Purchasing-> Purchase Order-> Define Document Types.
Now maintain the filed selction key in
SPRO-> Materials Management-> Purchasing-> Purchase Order-> Define Screen Layout at Document Level
In the filed selction group Terms of delivery and payment, maintain the field selection option as display for the fields

  • Invoice Reduction Invoice Payment Terms - Due Date

    Hi gurus,
At the time we apply invoice reduction in MIRO screen, both invoices (regular and reduction) take vendor payemnt terms (for ex Due in 30 dyas). Is it possible to assign the invoice reduction invoice a fix payment term "Due Immediately" via configuration?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi there,
Im afraid there is no setting that will have the system post different payment terms in the invoice reduction
than what is in the invoice. In MIRO, if you use PO reference to create the IV document, the payment terms are copied from the PO and not from the vendor master. The business reason is, that the PO represents the contract between vendor and customer including the terms of payment. Also check out note 322430 as this gives a good description of the proposal logic for the terms of payment.
    I hope this helps,
    Best regards,
    Adam.

    Hi octavio,
    Thanks for your valuable input.
You are right and also I found from metalink...
Subject: 11.5-AR-How Can You Enter Payment Terms For Credit Memos
    Doc ID: 249547.1 Type: HOWTO
    Modified Date: 16-DEC-2003 Status: PUBLISHED
goal: How can you enter payment terms for Credit memos
    fact: Oracle Receivables 11.5
    fix:
Payment terms cannot be used in Credit memos. This is standard functionality.
The trx_date/gl_date of the credit memo transaction is the date which is
considered as the due date of the credit memos. This is the current
    functionality.

  • Payment terms using a fixed amount.

Is there a way to create a payment terms for a fixed amount instead of a percent discount.  We have a term where the customer can take a 10.00 discount if paid within 30 days.  All i can see is a percent of discount.  This wont work cause the invoices will vary.  Any Ideas?
    Thanks

    Hi Chad
I am not sure if what I propose may be of use - but try and see if you can utilise this:
In the Payment Term T Code OBB8 - there is a check box for Installment payments - you may have to create multiple payterms and assign acordingly - (FI settinsg in IMG)
    what i would do is:
Term z10 = for 10 days to be used with a identified amount
Term z9 = for 10 days without any amount
and then use this installment utility - you may need to experiment on this to make it work as per your calculations -
    cheers

  • Payment Terms (Fixed Due Date)

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where in I need to set up a new Payment term 123 as an installement payment term.
The payment term is divided as follows:
Payment Term A: 25% (Due Immediately)
Payment Term B: 25% (Payable on May 30)
Payment Term C: 25% (Payable on June 30 => Baseline date calculation: Fixed day: 30 additional months:1)
Payment Term D: 25% (Payable on October 30 => Baseline date calculation: Fixed day: 30 additional months: 5)
Now the above can we achieved by creating a condition type (VK11) and adding the Main Payment Term 123 in that condition type with a fixed due date.
Then corresponding payment terms B,C and D can be set according to the fixed due date(mentioned in condition type) in OBB8
But how do I capture the payment term A since it will be on the basis of Billing date and not fixed due date mentioned in condition type.
Also, please suggest an alternate approach in setting up the above payment term 123 and if any ABAP effort is also required.
    Thanks,
    Aruna

    HI,
You can use the custom development for it:-
    (A) For FI Documents:-
Use FI Substitution in OBBH with exit.
For field day1 (BSEG-ZBD1T) and baseline date (BSEG-ZFBDT). Here check the baseline date for October?
    Your ABAPer can code this.
    (B)For SD Documents:-
    Use user exit EXIT_SAPLV60B_008.
This exit has table ACCIT which also has same fields Day1 and Baseline date. Follow same logic mentioned above.

  • Fixed Date for Payment term

    Hi,
We have a customer with three fixed date of payment depending on the invoice date, but we do not know how to customize payment terms with fixed date. It seems it is not possible with OBB8...
    Thank you very much,
    Ariana

    Hi Ariana,
Yes it is very much possible using OBB8 to have fixed date of payment. You have to make use of the field Day Limit (which is just below the payment tem field) and Fixed Day and Additional month (Which you will find in the tab for baseline date calculation) in OBB8
Lets say the you want the TOP (Terms of Payment) like
    1) For invoicing up to 10th of the month the baseline date is 30th of the current month
    2) For invoicing up to 20th of the month the baseline date is 15th of the next month
    3) For invoicing up to 30st of the month the baseline date is 30th of the next month
Hence when lets say u create a TOP say TEST in OBB8 you will make the configuration as below
    1) Payment Term: TEST, Day Limit: 10, Fixed Day:30, Additional Month: 0
    2) Payment Term: TEST, Day Limit: 20, Fixed Day:15, Additional Month: 1
    3) Payment Term: TEST, Day Limit: 30, Fixed Day:30, Additional Month: 1
    Hope this helps you

  • Payment Term - Fixed date

    Hello Friends,
Can any one please explain me how does the field "Fixed date" for the following payment term behaves?
    Best Regards,
    Jeetendar

    Hi,
Can you do a test on this? I have tested and got 25th March as due date.
If fixed date is not mentioned, system simply calculates due date based on number of day/months mentioned. If fixed date is mentioned, Due date dayis always fixed to that date. This may behave differently if you mention cash discount percentage in first row. If a % is mentioned, this means, user can get mentioned % of cash discount till the calculated date based on fixed day and additional months. In second row, if you don't mention any %, these settings are used for due date calculation.
After due date, item becomes overdue.
In you case say you mention 1% in first row and no % in second row with additional months 1.
    This means,
You can get 1% cash discount till 25th March and no cash discount between 25th March to 25th April.
Item is over due after 25th April.
Hope it is clear. I suggest to play around by changing these settings and posting invoices.
    Thanks,
    V V

  • FIX DATE in Payment terms

    HI All,
we have a requirement where the due date should be a fix date, say 31st march 2007, irrespective of invoice date.
Please let me know if this can be configured & how?

    Hi
Sorry Suryu , But here we want specific date along with the month (15/10/2008) as a baseline date , We can obviously set specific day but month for due date depends upon posting date or document date
For instance today is 11/09/2008 if I want my payment term baseline to be set at 15th of october 08 then I can make a fix day 15th and also additional month 1 so it will make baseline date 15/10/2008 for only those transaction which is been done on september, but again in october it will add another month so it will become 15/11/2008
Please let me know if you have solution about this

  • Payment term with fixed date

    Dear all,
I want to create a payment term as follows:
    100%, 90 Days on the 10th and 25th.
I created a payment term like this:
    first entry: 'day limit' - 10 days,  'fixed day' field in the "Base line date calculation" column - 10 days  and  'nº of days' - 90 days  second entry (for that same payment term): 'day limit' - 25 days,  'fixed day' field in the "Base line date calculation" column - 25 days and 'nº of days - 90 days;
    third entry (for that same condition term) 'day limit' - 31 days,  'fixed day' field in the "Base line date calculation" column - 10 days and additional month - 1 and 'nº of days - 90 days;
The system is not giving the expected result. For instance, for a customer with that payment term when document date is 30.09.2012 i should obtain payment date like 10.01.2012 but i obtain 08.01.2012.
I need a field wher to fix day of month for payment. Does it exist?
I hope you can help me.
    best regards
    Joana Trigo

    Dear Trigo,
Unfortunatelly the System do not manage week day it only manage dates
in specific, but there are some options that maybe helpful:-
    1. Using the field FIXED DATE:
Fixed calendar date as part of the date on which the first or second
cash discount period ends and/or the date on which the due date for
date net payment (date on which payment of an open item is due net, that
is with cash no discount deduction) is reached.
    2. Could be into Default for baseline date area, not set the indicator
"No default" with this you then have to enter the base date manually
    into your document.
    3.  You have the option "DAY LIMIT":
Day of the month up until which the correspondig terms are valid.
For terms of payment which depend on whether or not the baseline date is
after or before the 15th of the month, you can define a two-part payment
term under the same terms of payment key. The terms of payment key is
expanded by the day limit entered here. Thus there are two
entries in which different terms can be specified.
    For Example:
The following terms of payment require you to enter a day limit:
Documents with an invoice date on or before the 15th of the month
are payable on the last day of the next month.
Documents with an invoice date after the 15th of the month are
payable on the 15th of the month after the next month.
