Garageband Storage Error

I was in garageband and i have 18GB of storage but when I try to download the undownloaded loops it says "There is not enough free space on your computer to download and install the content. Create some more free space, then try downloading again."

Hey dcoutsider,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues downloading GarageBand. The following resource may provide a solution:

I am having an issue on hub transport servers running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU6.
Where some journaled meeting request related messages (acceptances, etc.) get stuck in the Submission queue.
    The error is:
400 4.4.7 The server responded with: 550 5.6.0 M2MCVT.StorageError; storage error in content conversion. The failure was replaced by a retry response because the message was marked for retry if rejected.
I raised the issue with our mail archiving vendor and they indicated this was an Exchange Server problem which should have been fixed in Exchange 2010 SP3 RU3, however we are running SP3 RU6 and the issue continues to occur.
I realize that we could just delete the stuck messages from queue but has anyone run in to this before and know how to prevent it from happening?
    Thank You.

    Hi Mike,
If you temporary disable\bypass third party Archiving , then what happens in the Queue.

  • Imac G5 (pre isight). Mass Storage Error

I have an imac G5 (pre-isight). Using Tiger. Recently it has been playing up. Two main problems: starting up and waking after sleep mode.
    *Starting up issues*
There doesnt seem to be a consistent problem here. Sometimes it hangs on the grey apple screen, sometimes grey probitory sign screen. Sometimes it hangs on a black screen with white writing. On about the 10th to 20th time of rebooting, it seems to startup and work fine.
    *Sleep issues*
If I leave the computer to go into sleep mode, it tends to freeze in whatever application is open. Especially Safari.
I have tried numerous fixes. I've reset PRAM, done the SMU thing. Repaired and verified disk many times. Repaired and verified permissions. I've archived and installed and archived and erased. There's barely any software on here apart from the operating software and MS Office (legal). I'm using an apple keyboard (wired) and a wired mouse. There's no important info on here so am happy to wipe everything.
Finally i did a hardware test and received a "mass storage error" (only appeared for the extended test)...
    2STF/8/3: S-ATA Bus 0 –Master
Having looked up several forums i replaced the hard drive. (Made sure it was compatible, similar size and same specs as original). Reinstalled software and got all the latest updates. Seemed to be working quite well for a day or so, although there was a few 'permissions' error which seemed easily fixed.
Today i awoke the imac and it had frozen. Back to it's old tricks. Tried restarting and got grey screens, black screens etc. Repaired permissions. Ran another hardware test and getting the same error message about mass storage!
So if it's not the hard drive, what's wrong for my imac? Is it time to just dispose it?
Thanks in advance for any ideas you may have.

The recall ended many moons ago, and it's a capacitor problem, they all need replacing, those in the power supply as well, probably.
If you are handy with a soldering gun, have steady hands and are good at repairing electronics, you can do it yourself. Look at [welovemacs.com] or [synaptech.com] for parts and advice.

  • Netflix application storage error N8011

    Greetings,
I have been searching for information on an issue my daughter is experiencing with Netflix on her MacBook Pro c2009. I have read many things in this issue, but have not found a true fix. Perhaps you can help.
When she starts a movie, instead of the movie playing she receives the following error: Application Storage Error N8011. It tells her that Private Browsing is enabled and instructs her to turn it off or call Netflix. However, Private Browsing in not enabled. I have played around with Private Browsing and am fairly sure this is not the issue.
The few things I have found in discussions on the net (suggestions that Netflix is not compatible with Safari 5, instructions to reinstall Silverlight, and making a new user account) have not provided a solution.
The suggestion that Netflix is not compatible with Safari 5 might have been relevant some time ago, but it clearly is not "the" issue because I am able to use Netflix on the same computer using a different account.
I have removed Silverlight and reinstalled it without any noticeable effect. Again, Netflix works with my account on the same computer. And Silverlight is a shared plugin, it does not need to be installed by each user.
The "fix" that I found repeated a few times is to create a new user account (named "test"). This does work, but it is a work around. It is NOT a "fix".
I believe the issue is related to an account permission or perhaps a Safari user configuration, but I have not been able to uncover anything in this light.
The new account I created as a work around does not have Admin privileges, but Netflix does work with that account. This reduces the range of possible causes.
If you have had a similar experience and have found the solution, please share it.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for your reply Klaus1.
The link you sent does not work: Error 404 - Not Found
I think the url you meant was:
    http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/07/how-to-re-enable-netflix-in-safari-5/
I had seen this page and tried it, but reverting to version 4 did not help the affected user account. Besides, Netflix is working with version 5 on a different user account on the same computer. For these reasons I'm pretty sure the version 5 thing has been resolved.
By the way, the info in the above link is really cool. I had no idea there was a way to revert Safari to prior versions. Apparently this is a feature for developers to test their web pages in different versions of several browsers - Cool!
Back the to point, I'm curious how many people have experienced this N8011 issue with Netflix. By the dearth of info on the web addressing this problem, I'm guessing it is not very common. But it is real, no the less.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • MSExchangeTransport critical storage error and recovery

    Hi All,
Yesterday, I received the following error on one of my Hub Transport servers and I'm not sure if there is any action I need to take from this point:
"MSExchangeTransport has detected a critical storage error and has taken an automated recovery action.
This recovery action will not be repeated until the target folders are renamed or deleted. Directory path:D:\Transport Queue is moved to directory path:D:\Transport Queue\Queue.old, and directory path:E:\Tranport Queue Logs is moved to directory path:E:\Tranport
    Queue Logs\Queue.log.old."
At this time, I also received a few alerts that Forefront had timed out while scanning some messages and that resources on the machine were limited.
Did I lose any data when this automated recovery occured? What does the message mean by: "This recovery action will not be repeated until the target folders are renamed or deleted"
What is considered the Target folder? The "old" location or the new location? I am currently running Exchange 2010 SP1 RU2.
    Thanks for your thoughts!

    Hi
I just find this eventid – 17102 relevant to this.
If the Queue.old directory already exists and a recovery is attempted then the following error is reported in the Windows Application log:
    EventID: 17102
Description: MSExchangeTransport has detected a critical storage error and has taken an automated recovery action.
This recovery action will not be repeated until the target folders are renamed or deleted. %2 Where %1 is the database instance name, %2 is a list of the path changes
To resolve this issue simply delete or rename the contents of the Queue.old directory and restart the MSExchangeTransport service. Please finish recovery process. I can’t say whether you lose data.
Please check it by yourself. But I don’t know why you meet this kind of error.

  • "mass storage" error

Suddenly began to have problems with my powerbook 2 days ago. Strange fluctuations in screen brightness with corresponding audible surges from the speakers. I reset the power management unit and the problem seemed to have been solved. Now, the system locked up giving me all kinds of odd errors: for example, while using iWeb I could not publish because the disk was full despite there being plenty of free space on my hard drive and on iDisk; trying to save in pages or iWeb gives an error with a strange number that I failed to note.
My worst fear being the loss of data, I quickly decided to hook up the powerbook in Target Disk mode to my girlfriend's iMac to transfer critical data for safe keeping. However, the iMac won't recognize the disk though in system profile it's listed under the "firewire" tab. I then ran the Apple Hardware Test and got the following error for "mass Storage"
    "Error*Code... 2STF/8/3:ATA-100ata-6-MASTER"
Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on here?
One thing to note, believe it or not my dog (got to love her) ate through my DVD collection which included my Tiger install DVD. So, booting from that DVD is not an option. Any ideas, thoughts, hints, spectulations, or intuitions would be much appreciated.

If you ever see an error with the Apple Hardware Test, you will have to take your Mac in for service to repair it. That appears to indicate a physical/hardware problem with your hard drive. It will probably need to be replaced. It could be an issue with your logic board and the ATA bus itself, but that's a little less likely.
If you send the PowerBook in for hard drive service, it may come back with a new hard drive and the same version of Mac OS X installed that came with your PowerBook when you bought it. AppleCare support will send you a new set of install disks, but they may charge you around $60 to replace them. If your PowerBook came with Mac OS X 10.4, you may not be able to use a retail copy of Tiger to re-install.

  • PGS & ORA-06500:PL-SQL : storage error

How do I tune PGA when I get an ORA-06500:PL-SQL : storage error. Works in 8i but not 9i. 9i is auto, 8i is not. Is this it?
    Tx.

Different servers? Unix? If so, check OS (ulimit -a) first and then post the results. If separate machines then it might not be PGA at all.
I would strongly suggest checking that and then posting a new, more detailed problem statement to the Database: General forum rather than posting to the Oracle Text forum (since it isn't related). Toss in info about the server type(s), memory settings that you've checked, the full error, what you're doing when you get it, etc.
    Thanks,

  • Garageband "Registry Error" coming up three times after Icon Clicked.

I have had my Macbook Pro since last september, so I'm still kinda new to a Mac. I had to get a new HD because it started failing. I restored it from my Time Machine External Hard Drive. The Only thing that is wrong is my Garageband. I have iLife 11 and Everytime I click on Garageband, an Error pops up saying "Registry Error" as the Header and "Please ensure this product has been installed properly" under the Header. This pops up multiple times and I can't use Garageband at all. I am running Mac OS 10.6.7 and Garageband is version 6.0.2. I Reinstalled it multiple times. Lost all my JamPacks and I'm afraid If I delete iLife, I will lose all 123 garageband songs I made. What do I do? HELP PLEASEEE!!!!!

    HELP PLEASEEE!!!!!
    Hi Dacheezypuffs
You could try a *complete* uninstall of GB before reinstalling it:
    • trash GB receipts (at the hard drive level)
    • trash your Caches folder (at the user level)
Select the hard drive your system is installed on (from the "devices" category on the left of a finder window). Then -> Library -> Receipts -> Garageband receipts.
    Username -> Library - Caches {folder}.
    • trash all GB preferences (at the user level)
    • trash the GB application.
Then, reinstall GB from scratch using your iLife installation disk.
    Lost all my JamPacks
If they're there, you can get them back in GB by rebuilding your index, or if not, you can reinstall them.
I'm afraid If I delete iLife, I will lose all 123 garageband songs I made. What do I do?
You shouldn't lose your songs, but you should back them up anyway. Just in case.
I have had my Macbook Pro since last september, so I'm still kinda new to a Mac.
Since the issue should still be covered by AppleCare (the drive failed) you could always call a tech rep if you were still having problems. Or if you were near a store, you could always make an appointment with one of the genii.

  • Hardware Test Error Message - Mass Storage Error code ata 1/6/8 HD: 2,0

I have an imac 15" flat Panel, 700 MHz . after getting the flashing question mark, running or trying to run all the standard tests, (pram, Software Restore, disk repair, reinstall, kernel repairs) I never see the hard drive or volume. I saw it was a maxtor HD with 0 bytes at one point.
I now ran the Apple Hardware Test think I lost the Hard Drive...this is the feed back:
    Airport- Passed
    Logic Board - Passed
    Mass Storage - Error Detected
Memory - Has Not been Run yet
    Modem - Device Found
Video RAM - Has not been run yet
Error Code ata 1/6/8 HD: 2,0
Could anyone help me diagnose the issue? I think I can replace the HArd Drive myself, if I knew this was the problem and what I need to buy to replace.
    Thanks,

I have a different take to a brody having replaced my hard disk and opened my iMac G4 up several times. Many people find that Apple Authorized Service Providers tend to give extortionate quotes for such repairs. Feel free to get a quote yourself. I'll provide the same advice I've given to many many other Apple Discussions users who have successfully replaced their hard disk themselves.
The iMac uses a standard desktop PC hard drive. It is 3.5" wide and in the iMac G4 uses the IDE connection. The iMac 700MHz 15" has an ATA66 bus so can use ATA66, ATA100 or ATA133 drives but not ATA33 or SATA. You should buy a 7,200rpm drive with a cache of 8Mb or higher as this also increases the speed over the original 5,400rpm drive installed so you should get a performance increase.
Here is a list of suitable hard drives.
It's pretty fiddly to work inside an iMac G4 so you must be very cautious. Always take anti-static precautions. Here are three options for guiding you through the procedure:
    MacWorld
    xlr8yourmac
    Service Manuals
I've also taken a fair few photos which you can find here.
I'd advise reading the reports on the xlr8yourmac's drive database so get other people's experiences first.
You must replace the Thermal Paste when you close the iMac up or it will overheat.
It's probably worth replacing the PRAM Battery whilst you're in there as these have a finite life (once they fail to re-charge you may start to run in to snags - it's only a $5 part).
The hard disk should be set to Master (link).
Some iMac G4 700MHz users have reported that they are unable to address hard drives larger that 128GB, there is an application called SpeedTools that can be used to overcome this addressing limitation.
You might also give consideration to installing a 512MB PC133 DIMM or an 18x DVD±RW Dual Layer burner whilst you do this update; both of which will have to be removed during the process.
You must be very careful around the video connector in the iMac; it really is very fragile. In fact there is no need to touch it at all in my experience.
It is possible that the ATA controller on the iMac's logic board has failed rather than the hard disk. Given the cost of the logic-board it would not be cost-effective for an iMac G4 700MHz.
Let us know how you get on.

  • AFPTCP won't start - Storage Error

Trying to get AFP working on some existing volumes with appropriate namespaces already assigned. When I try and start AFP from the iManager screen, I get a screen flash up quickly and then I'm sent back to main iManager menu. I was finally able to screen capture what was flashing on the screen and it has a "Storage Error" box with "Could not start the Server" just below it. No other errors are logged. In fact, nothing is logged in the log file. I've followed several threads that indicate that if rcnovell-afptcpd is in a status of "unused" then it is a problem with xregd. But, xregd seems to working fine.
    By the way, OES2, SP3.
    Ideas?

    Is this OES2 SP3 on SLES10 SP3 or SP4?
    32- or 64-bit?
How up-to-date is server re patches?
Which versions of iManager and AFP plug-in?
Please post the output from "cat /etc/release" which will answer

  • Virtual Storage Error Count report large number

    Hi,
I've win 2012 std with hyperv role on it.
i've setup a virtual machine with 1 IDE disk and 1 SCSI disk all VHD on local disk.
when i monitor the server with veeam one it report that the Virtual Storage Error Count in large (9) on the SCSI driver even if this drive is not loaded at all.
    why is that?

    Hi,
I've win 2012 std with hyperv role on it.
i've setup a virtual machine with 1 IDE disk and 1 SCSI disk all VHD on local disk.
when i monitor the server with veeam one it report that the Virtual Storage Error Count in large (9) on the SCSI driver even if this drive is not loaded at all.
    why is that?
I've seen this particular issue on several occasions as well as from various monitoring tools. Here is another thread concerning this same alert for a Virtual Storage Device Error Count with a value of 9, however, the source of the alert in this case is
the Hyper V Management Pack for System Center Operations Manager:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanagermgmtpacks/thread/6f4248aa-ed66-4ae1-b767-8238efc2e162/
In each of these instances of the issue, there are a few environmental variables that generally seem to remain the same -
The affected VM's are Server 2012 or Windows 8 guests running on a Server 2012 Hyper V host.
The VHD's reporting the high Virtual Storage Device Error Count are using a SCSI controller.
    The disks are not pass-through disks ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2624495 )
In most cases the same value of 9 is reported for the error count metric.
The same error count value can be observed within Perfmon.exe on the host containing the affected VM(s) by adding the following performance counter for the affected VHD(s):
Hyper-V Virtual Storage Device > Error Count
The metric value for the affected VHD(s) can be reset by powering off the VM and rebooting the host server, however, this is often not possible in a production environment. Additionally, the error count value climbs to and halts at 9 immediately after the VM
is powered back on. I've observed this behavior in Perfmon.exe while testing ways to reset the counter and, in turn, clear the alarms from any monitoring tools. There do not seem to be any correlating events logged in the Event Viewer or cluster
events that would indicate that there actually is an issue occurring with the Virtual Storage Device.
Overriding the alert completely would not be ideal as this would cause no alerts to trigger in the event of an actual problem with the device, thus I would like to find a way to reset only this particular performance counter while both the host and the VM(s)
are powered on. Additionally, any information in regards to the root cause of this issue would be appreciated!

  • PSE8 not enough storage error

I keep getting the same error over an over again.  Everytime I try to add Texture to document I get the "not enough storage error".  If I close out PSE and reopen it then it will work again for a little while.  Then it errors again.  I have plenty of storage capacity so I am not sure what is causing the error. Any ideas as to how to fix this?

In PSE8 editor under Edit->Preferences: check Performance settings:
*taking the cursor/mouse on each option words will display the description of that option:
Modify the default settings as per your needs:
    1) Set the total % PSE can use of available RAM.
    2) reduce the number of history states (Undo states)
    3) Under scratch disks area in case you have more than 1 drive do check so it can use memory from more than 1 drives of your machine.
After making this changes close PSE and launch again.
I am sure memory performance should improve. Let me know if you have any comments.
