How do I successfully network my hp photosmart

I have a windows desktop and a new macbook pro. I'm able to share my printer thats attached to my pc by usb adaptor. However when I add it to my macbook, I can add it but it doesn't show my printer in the list. It does not show my type of printer in the printer model list. I know that there is an other option but I'm not sure where the drivers are located. I tried browsing the cd,but I didn't see a driver there either, I would appreciate any help in this matter.

As you already know, the process of adding a printer is to first install the printer driver(CD or Download), then open the printer utility and click add printer. The printer should then show up. Highlight it, click add, and it should go. The printer will not populate the list of printers, until you have selected it in the add printer dialog.
When I've added a Canon, the install asks to first restart. I haven't had to do that with all printers, and I have used the install CD with my HP Photosmart C 6180 without having to reboot.
Also, I believe one has to enable printer sharing on the mac and the PC in order to share a networked printer.

Can you connect to a wifi source on the device? Enable wifi in settings on the device itself. If you don't have wifi at home, there may be a local hotspot you can use for this.
The reason this happens is carriers don't want people downloading huge files that would slow their network as well as eat up your data plan.

Had hard drive failure on MacBook 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, so had to rebuild the OS on new drive. Was on Lion 10.7.5 prior to failure, but had to reinstall Snow Leopard 10.6.3 since that was most recent OS on media I had. After finally getting ethernet connection to router working, was able to get to internet and download / upgrade to 10.6.8. I assume I can probably buy the upgrade to Mountain Lion 10.8 from there.
Problem is this, Airport will not stop self-assigning IP address for my wireless connection, and unless I can get wireless back on this laptop, doesn't make a lot of sense to continue the rebuild and reinstall of all the software that was on it prior to HD failure. Only way to my home network and router is ethernet now. Everything else on my network (Apple MacBook Pro laptops, iPhones, desktops, and non-Apple printers and laptops) is hooking up to router wirelessly fine.
Any ideas how to resolve successfully so that the airport will stop self-assigning and allow the router to assign the IP address?

How to search a network/external hard drive in finder?

I use my Macbook at work where I am required to save all files I work on to a network hard drive on our server. I also have to be able to find and access files from the network drive for customers. In Snow Leapord I had the ability to type in the search bar in finder and it would search the entire network drive and find what I was looking for very quickly. Lots of people at work access the network drive, and every one of them has a different sense of organization. The ability to search is an absolute must in order to find anything. After upgrading to Lion, I discovered that the ability to search a networked or external hard drive has been removed. Lion only allows me to search my local hard drive in my Macbook. Does anyone know how to search a network hard drive in Lion? If not I am going to have to eat the 30 bucks and downgrade back to Snow Leopard. I have scoured through every little preference and option and have found nothing that even sounds remotely like it has anything to do with the search feature. Anyone please help, if not I am going to have to break out the time machine backups and remove this broken os from my computer.

system preferences, spotlight, privacy, add the network or external hard drive and then remove it from the privacy list. it should start to reindex this drive. You'll experience some slowness while this is happening and depending on how big your network is, it might take a really long time. But after that, you should be able to search in them as well. You can also organize what types of files show first so you can navigate to them easier.

Hello,
We can use an exporting parameter like single character field like 'S' for success and 'E' for error instead of a message.
Another option is you can use the Tables parameter and populate Return table with error or success message. Return table of type 'BAPIRET2'.

The computer (and driver) have to handshake with the printer, QED it has to be either online or physically connected and if it is physically connected it wont work on the network so yes it does.

How to Make Wirless Network SECURE

I am running my desktop hard line to a comcast modem which runs XP Pro. My Laptop which is running Vista is set up wireless via the WRT54GS Linksys Router.
The wireless network is running great but it is identified as UNSECURED!
After three 30 minute waits last night, 2 disconnects when I was not understanding them ( not a computer whiz but I do ok) and 1 live chat tech that copy and pasted the directions on how to set it up but not how to make it secure and then a quick disconnect .
Can anyone tell me exactly HOW TO MAKE THIS NETWORK SECURED and WHAT computer shall I use to perform this?

With some investigation I can find have found the following:
If I right click on my Network Icon in my tool bar and then click Connect to Network and then right click on the Network and right click Properties I get a box with the following:
Tab for connection and a tab for security with pull down bars which can be changed...
1) Security Types -No Authentication (open), shared, wpa2 personal, wpa personal, wpa2 enterprise, wpa enterprise and 802.1x
2) Encryption Types -WEP

Doesn't matter, once you change the security settings onthe router, you will be prompted for the settings to reconnect to it.

Define "secured". Wired, only physical connection have access.
Wireless, once you add WPA or WEP (WPA is better) it's secured.
