How to prevent the save message when program exit vi is used

I am using the Quit LabVIEW vi and am getting the Save/Don't Save/Cancel dialog each time the operator quits the program.  The reason is objects on the screen have been resized.  The vi properties for window appearance are scroll bars off.  This is a base development package so the program runs in the environment.  I would like to allow the operator to exit without seeing this message.  LV 8.5, Win XP
Thank you.

sfm,
The best way to do this is by incorporating a source code control depository.  Set your LabVIEW.ini options to configure the source code control and to treat read only vi's as locked.  Edits will only be allowed if the code is checked out of source code control and that prevents the operator moving or resizing the FP objects accidentally.  You should not allow your operators to make code changes!  Operators operate, developers edit code.  It is common to have operators who are also developers BUT, the functions must be kept separated.
What I mean is that the user is either trying to make the code do what it needs to do (developing - so code changes are desirable.) OR the user is trying to use the code to do its intended function (operating - so code change is not just undesirable, it is BAD!)
The pop-up is not just annoying, it indicates that code control does not exist! You need better logistics to prevent code maintenance headaches of biblical proportions.

  • How to block the 'save' function when the required fields are not filled?

    Hello, Everyone
    I am new for this scripting. My question is:
    How to block the 'save' function when the required fields are not filled?
    I designed a PDF file with some required fields and I do not want the user to save the document until all required fields are filled. My idea is to write some scripts in Willsave method like:
    if (this.getField("Family Name").value == ""){
    app.alert('You should fill the Family Name field firstly!');
    But I do not think it works as finally the document is saved after all.
    Please help me on that!
    So much thanks.

    Dear Randybearwang,
    I am a Rocky myself and I know how though it is to establish some good codes. Since I created some forms with validation options myself I might have a code for you. The code also creates an alert box (Yes/no option) if the user chooses yes the form will be validatet, if he chooses "no" the alert window will be closed.If  everything is filled out correctly the form will be saved otherwise the textbox will be higlighted and gets focus.
    If you need further assistance , please let me know
    Have fun with the code.
    P.s I don´t know how to upload the "PDF" document. I wrote you an email, please get back to me if you still need the file.

  • How to Customize the Error Message when a user enters a wrong password

    Hi Gurus
    Pls Help out me that
    How to Customize the Error Message when a user enters a  wrong password ?
    I need the Help to Customize the messege ?
    How  we can do
    Pls Tell me indetail

    Firstly many appologies I have given you slightly duff information here, I had been editing the file above for email notification texts not logon / password texts.
    The file you need is actually a portal .par file and can be found in the deployment/pcd directory.  The file you need is called com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par (with a .bak extension at this time).
    You need to copy this file to a local machine and unzip the contents.  The files you need to edit are contained in a further jar file which can be found in the \PORTAL-INF\lib directory - it is called umelogonbase.jar.  It too needs to be extracted and the file you need to edit is logonMessages_xx.properties (where the xx is the language code you are using).
    In this file you will find lines like:
    NUMERIC_REQUIRED=Invalid new password (must contain digits)
    You need to identify which texts you wish to modify and edit the text to the right of the equals sign.  Once complete rezip the umelogonbase.jar file and then the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par (this time name it without the .bak extension.  Then logon to the portal and upload the new par and you should see your new logon messages.

  • Prevent the Output Message when creating PO from inbound IDOC

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    In my project, I have to create PO from inbound IDOC (PORDCR) with a specific Document Type ('099').
    Requirement: These PO should not generate the output message while the others (Doc Type # '099') do.
    I have the Z fuction module which call BAPI_PO_CREATE for posting IDOC and it works fine.
    In the existing system, there are some set up that trigger the output message type for PO (output NEU) when using ME21 or ME22, as a result my PO created with output message.
    Can you please advise if there are some way (User Exit?) that prevent the output message in this scenario (specific PO Type) without touching the current Condition setup?
    I'm new in MM and really need help!
    Thanks,
    Elaine.

    Hi Vinod,
    I really appreciate your anwer. I'm going to explore this with my functional consultant.
    Just like to have more questions:
    1. Is it easier if we change the existing condition table instead of creating a new routine?
    2. There are two forms for routine 101 (FORM KOBEV_101 and FORM KOBED_101). Can you explain to me why we need 2 here for what purpose of each form.
    3. In the debug mode by using WE19 to post inbound IDOC, I change the SY-SUBRC = 4 and PO created without output message. Is it the right direction? Anything else I need to pay attention to?
    Thanks again.
    Regards,
    Elaine.

  • How to prevent the "save a copy" option

    using Acrobat Pro 7.0
    When I set the security to "don't allow editing", and open the pdf  with Acrobat reader, the save button is disabled, as expected.
    But when I place this same pdf on a webpage, using code shown below, when the pdf displays within the browser, a "Save a copy" button allows the file to be saved. How do I prevent my file from being saved when I show it in the webpage ?  I only want the user to view my pdf on a web page - not saving and  printing.
    <a href="test.pdf">test </a>
    Also, what is the best way to present a pdf in a website
          a) use a href link
          b) use the save as html option ? (this does not do a good job when the pdf has images)_
    thanks

  • How to prevent the 'Save [html] Report to File' from overwriting an existing file.

    Using LabVIEW 2011 on Windows XP, SP3.
    I am trying to use the Save Report to File vi, specifically a html report.
    It allows replace and create file.
    In my application, I would like to create or open the file. When I try to edit to include those options
    and save the vi something breaks as it appears to be an OOP vi.
    How can I perform this functionality?
    Thanks,
    Steve Scoppettuolo

    Wait, what do you mean you try to "edit to include those options"? Are you actually modifying a core LabVIEW VI? If you are STOP. NEVER modify VIs shipped with LabVIEW.
    Your question is fundamentally not clear. Why do you want to open the file if you're trying to save the report? Are you trying to append to an existing report? If so, the New Report VI has a "template" input. If you specify an existing report file it will be opened for editing. Please review the documentation on the report VIs.

  • How to get the displayed message when using FM:  ABAP4_CALL_TRANSACTION

    Hi,
    I am calling FM ABAP4_CALL_TRANSACTION from MS-Excel.  This FM works perfectly for me except the system messages that SAP returns are not always understandable or intituative.  My question is there another FM or Table that I can use to convert the data from MESS_TAB to a more meaningful message for the users?
    Examples listed below:

  • Wierd message when program exits

    every time I exit my program the consol outputs this phantom message:

    This message doesn't affect my program but I was just curious if anyone else has seen something like this or knows where it might be comming from.

    While using firefox I am using, private browsing and not remembering any passwords.
    When I login to Gmail, the login page shows option to type in my gmail id and then password, and at the bottom, it gives the option of checkbox to remember the password next time. NOW, the problem is that, THIS CHECK box is always TICKED (Checked). I don't want it to be checked at all.
    So How can I prevent firefox to Offer to save passwords and how to remove the tick checked when I log in to gmail?
    Thank you so much.

    Hi Imran_Afzal, if you know that setting the cookie has no effect after you close your private browsing session, is it really worth finding a hack to clear the checkbox?
    I believe in order to do that you would need to use an extension or userscript. However, I haven't searched for one.
    ''Note: When searching for a userscript on userscripts.org, be very cautious as many hacked scripts have been posted lately. Check reviews and check the code to make sure it only runs on your Google site before installing.''

  • How to prevent the program not to skip the process when exception is genera

    Hi, friends.
    How to prevent the program not to skip the process when exception is generated?
    For example, I am doing a process for 100 records. If the 15th record causes a Java Exception, I want to be able to skip it and continue processing the remaining 85 records.
    How it is possible with Java Exception handling? Any sample code?
    Thanks,
    Jaykishan

    while (there are more lines) {
      try {
        process the next line
      catch (...) {
        log the error
    }[http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/exceptions/]
    You'll want to be careful about which exceptions you catch though. For instance, if there's an unchecked exception, like NullPointerException, it's a sign of a bug in your code. Continuing to process as if that bug weren't there is often a worse approach than just failing. In this particular case, however, as long as you log the exception and then followup by fixing the bug that caused it, it may be acceptable to continue trying to process the rest of the file, even if some lines bring out a bug in your code.

  • When I try to update Firefox it repeatedly says Firefox must be closed to proceed with install. I even get the same message when I try to uninstall the existing version of firefox. How do I close Firefox???

    When I try to update Firefox it repeatedly says Firefox must be closed to proceed with install even tho Firefox is closed. I get the same message when I try to uninstall the existing version of Firefox. How do I close Firefox??? The same thing happens when I try to update other programs. When a program is off what else do I have to do to turn it off??

    If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or have other problems with updating to update then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
    Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded

    Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
    Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail icon. Tap the home button twice.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
