How to setup a VLAN on a Cisco Stack

I have 3 3750's in a stack config. I can see Gi1/0/1 - Gi3/0/48 in the console and through the web interface. If I do show vlan it shows VLAN1 and shows included ports on all three switches 1/0/1 - 3/0/48. I try to setup a vlan331 on Switch 1 port 17 - Switch 3 port 48
config t
int vlan331
interface range Gi1/0/17-3/0/48 OR interface range Gi1/0/17-Gi3/0/48 --barks at the 3/0/48. It does let me do a test like interface range Gi1/0/17-18. That works..
How can I include the other ports on the other two switches which are stacked into this one VLAN331?

The first. Sorry my english =)
I want tald you how to change guest network name in cisco (what have different name)
What we need.
1. Cisco Connect for Mac OSX (i use snow leopard and Cisco Connect for E3000)
2. Terminal
Okay. Let's go.
1. Install Cisco Connect for OSX
2. After setup - slighty setup your cisco router (give something name and password), then, when cisco connect say you "You now connected the internet" and going to main screen - exit from cisco connect
3. Open Terminal (Or you can use Finder (go to Application, show package content Cisco Connect))
4. Go to /Application/Cisco Connect.app/Contents/Resources/lcid/<your setup language, for english - go 1033>/

13. Setup Wifi manual and change SSID for diferent names. I change 5Gh to 'Grizlly Bear Hi-Speed Network' and 2.4GHz to 'Grizlly Bear Main Network'
14. Setup your hostname for all services (fileserver, media server, etc)
Woala!
We have three diferent names network!
Questions?

In order to enable Guest networking, the AirPort Extreme must be configured as your "main" Internet router. In this configuration, Connection Sharing = Share a Public IP address. The Extreme would be connected directly to the Internet modem and NOT downstream of another router with NAT enabled.
In this configuration, the Guest network would provide access ONLY to the Internet and NOT to your LAN.

• WRV210 How to setup 5 VLAN?

Hi,
I have a WRV210 router and the manual says it can have 5 VLAN. I can also see the SSID or Ethernet Port can be assigned to a particular VLAN via the Web Admin page.
However, I don't know how to setup the extra 4 VLAN from the Web Admin page.
Currently, only one LAN I can setup is the default LAN (192.168.1.1) by default.
Thanks for anyone who can show me how to add more VLAN to this router.
Best regards,
Marcos

davcbr wrote:
Oh yeh; then throw out the other four routers.
Actually he can use the routers as AP's...you just need to assign them a specific IP then cascade them so they would act like switches...
Router A connects to the Internet and is set to DHCP ON (LAN IP 192.168.1.1)
Router B DHCP OFF (LAN IP 192.168.1.2)
Router C DHCP OFF (LAN IP 192.168.1.3)
Router D DHCP OFF (LAN IP 192.168.1.4)
Router E DHCP OFF (LAN IP 192.168.1.5)
You must connect from router A's regular port to a regular port also on the other routers....you can also connect the other routers (345) on the regular ports of the
first routers...just as long as you have them connected on port 1 2 3 or 4 it will act like a switch...

• How to setup Private VLAN in Small business switch SF200-24

Dear All,
According release notes 1.4 , private vlan is supported. I've upgraded my SF200-24 with firmware 1.4.0.88 and boot 1.3.5.06. The system information show firmware version 1.4.0.88 and boot version 1.3.5.06 after reboot. I can't find private vlan setup command on GUI. Please help me to setup private vlan. Thanks.

Hi,
Unfortunately PVLAN is not supported on 200 series. However you might be able to overcome this using general port concept.
for example:
isolated port - general 10P (PVID), 30U, drop tagged traffic
community - 20UP, 30U, drop tagged traffic
promiscuous - 30UP, 10U, 20U
Note: primary vlan 30
does it address your requirements?

• How to setup an IPSec VPN Tunnel Cisco 2320 Vs RVS4000

Hello all.
This forum has always helped me in all my investigations about VPN and now I'm gonna help everyone with this post.
I have succesfully config an IPSec VPN Tunnel by using a Router Scientific Atlanta Cisco 2320 and a RVS4000 4-Port Gigabit Security Router with VPN.
On the site of Router Scientific Atlanta Cisco 2320 this is some info:
WAN IP: A.A.A.A
Router Local IP: 192.168.5.1
Subnet: 192.168.5.X
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
On the site of RVS4000 4-Port Gigabit Security Router with VPN this is some info:
WAN IP: B.B.B.B
Router Local IP: 192.168.0.10
Subnet: 192.168.0.X
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Remember that you can not be on the same range of IP, I mean, you can not have 192.168.0.X if the remote network is on 192.168.0.X, you have to change some of the Routers.
I show the configuration on Router Scientific Atlanta Cisco 2320:
I show the configuration on RVS4000 4-Port Gigabit Security Router with VPN:
If all is correctly configured, you should see on Router Scientific Atlanta Cisco 2320 the Status Connected:
If all is correctly configured, you should see on RVS4000 4-Port Gigabit Security Router with VPN the Status Up:
As you can see, I'm connected to the remote Router (RVS4000 4-Port Gigabit Security Router with VPN) by my own web browser accesing by the local IP 192.168.0.10
I have used Authentication MD5, maybe is not the best one but I had no time to test SHA1, I will when I will have time.
I wish that this help to anyone that need to do this.
Best regards!

Hey,
Thanks a ton for posting this out here. I am sure it will be helpful for people trying this out.

• How to setup a static multicast ARP entry with Cisco SF300-08?

We're running a cluster in multicast mode as a loadbalancer.
We have Cisco SF300-08 and when we adding a static ARP entry results in an error message telling the user that the hardware address needs to be a valid unicast MAC address.
So how to setup a static multicast in Cisco SF300 or maybe someone know other solution to setup multicastes mode in Cisco SF300.

Hi, Tom!
We have two watchguard xtm505(cluster active-active) in our network. Watchguard interfaces have one ip and one mac adresses. IP 192.168.111.1(Unicast) and MAC 01:00:5e:02:02:03(multicast). Cisco SF300 is router to outside networks(to internet). Cisco IP adresss is 192.168.111.254. There are another some hosts in this network.
Ping from hosts to 192.168.111.254 works well. Ping from hosts to 192.168.111.1 works well too. But there is no ping from watchguard cluster(192.168.111.1) to Cisco(192.168.111.254). And there is no routing to internet
This is well-known situation. We need to do following(example for cisco 3750):
1. Start the Cisco 3750 command line interface.
2. Add a static ARP entry for the multicast MAC address of the FireCluster interface.
Type this command:
arp arpa
For this example, type:
arp 192.168.111.1 01:00:5e:02:02:03 arpa
3. Add an entry to the MAC address table.
Type this command:
mac-address-table static vlan interface <#>
For this example, type:
mac-address-table static 01:00:5e:02:02:03 vlan 1 interface gi1/0/11
But we can't add arp entry on Cisco SF300. CLI tells us "MAC address illegal"!
We tried enable igmp snooping, but is not helps.
Could you tell more detailed about MAC groups?

• How to interconnect wireless VLAN client and wired VLAN with Cisco 800

Hello
PLease send a sample config in order to interconnect one Wireless PC (@IP 10.0.0.1/24) that belongs to VLAN 1 (thru Cisco 837) to an external Internet Router that is connected to port Fastethernet 4 of the Cisco 837 (@IP 172.18.124.111/16).
PS:
My Cisco 837 config works fine when connecting 2 Wireless PC in 2 different VLAN
Warm Regards

Configure a default static route on 837 router pointing to the External router[ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 . Make sure the Nating is done for PC on VLAN 1.

• How to setup a Class B network with WRT54GX ver. 2

Hi all,
I bought a WRT54GX ver. 2 router. I wanna know how to setup the IP address say 128.1.50.136 with subnet mask 255.255.0.0 (Class B network)? By the way, 128.1.0.0 is my network zone.
If the router can't change, what should I do? Any other router support Class B network?
Thanks!

bcow wrote:
I did but it doesn't work. It seems don't have 255.255.0.0 to select.
would you state more clear of how to do it? Thanks!
It does not have that because it does not support it... the router runs on CLASS C only because it was designed and made for SOHO only... bussiness lines of Linksys or Cisco can do that....but not this router...

• How to setup remote access with E4200?

Hi,
I am new to this and I need help from you all on how to setup the E4200 so that I can access the media server when I am in office? Is there a guide or step by step procedure on this? I was browsing on the Cisco website and unable to find it.

The purpose of using DDNS is it substitutes the public/WAN ip address provided by your ISP.We all know that the ip address provided by our ISP(if we are not subscribe to a premium static ip address) is basically public and will always change from time to time.So it will be difficult for us to know what's the ip address our ISP has provided us and this will lead us problems accessing our router or ftp server remotely. Thus by using DDNS' it will now allow us to access the router remotely without knowing what's the WAN ip address.

• How to setup QoS for IP/Mac Address WRVS4400N

I need some help setting up QoS for two Cisco/Linksys devivces on my network.
Network devices are Comcast SB6120 modem into WRVS4400n (v2.0.2.1 firmware) that divides into one 24 port gigabit Netgear unmanaged switch, 1 port into AT&T Cisco Microcell, 1 port to HP Officejet 7700 wired printer. Unmanaged switch has approx 10 devices attached (including another 8 port unmanaged gigabit switch). 3 static leases are defined for the network for three devices (HP OJ 7700 printer, Cisco/Linksys PAP2 VOIP adapter, windows home server v1. DHCP is handled by WRVS4400n. Comcast service provides 12mbps of service upstream, 4mbps downstream.
Need to setup QoS for AT&T Microcell and PAP2 VOIP adapter. The real issue that I can't figure out how to configure is IP based priority access. I can do rate control for an IP address but can't figure out how to specify priority control for an IP.
Here are my the current config questions:
1. Bandwidth management page: For the microcell device plugged into port 1, do i set the default CoS to 4 or 1?
2. Bandwidth management page: Should the bandwidth management type be set to priority? I assume yes since I need to define the UDP/TCP ports for priority. The major issues here are
a) one of the ports the Microcell uses is secure https (TCP 443) which is could also be used by any other internet device.
b) can't specify priority for the PAP2, since it's behind the unmanaged 24 port switch
3. QoS setup page: Do I need just 2 queues (one for the port ID for the Microcell and one for the IP address of the Linksys adapter)?
4. QoS setup page: I assume I need to define DSCP for the unmanaged switch but not sure how to tie a queue to an IP address
4. QoS setup page: Shoud priority 0 be set for the most important queue (microcell) and the priority 1 CoS be for the VOIP adapter? Again, not sure about how to define priority by IP address.
5. DSCP setup page: As far as I can find, there's no documentation on how to setup this page.

That's what I do. I keep it simple, one calendar, one set of contacts.
iCloud is really the simplest way to go, as it will sync your (eventual) single Contacts and Calendar across all your devices.
I would:
Figure out which single calendar (in Calendar.app) and contacts (in Contacts.app) that you want to keep.
I'd make a backup of each one. For example,
in Contacts, File > Export... > Contacts Archive...
in Calendar, File > Export... > Calendar Archive...
Make a backup of the other calendar events and contacts that you want to save.
delete all the contacts and calendars from your phones and your iPad.
add the contacts and events from the backups to the single calendar in Calendar.app and your contacts in Contacts.app on your iMac. There is probably some way to export the contacts and events you are adding, and then combine them, but you could also just add them manually.
Then when you configure all your devices for iCloud, they will be all synced automatically.

• How to create wrielesss vlan with diffrence configuration

how to create wireless vlans with different configuration in network?
device use only :
laptop = 30
desktop = 40
linksys wirelesss router = 1
switch 2960 = 1
router 1841 = 1

vlan 20 = student(29 laptop & 39 desktop)
Posted by WebUser ???? ?????????? from Cisco Support Community App

in this case we don't have enough budget t get WLC device....mybe use the autonomous ap....i use the linksys wireless routes as AP that connect to switch and create the VLANs 10 and VLANs 20 in the switch 2960, the switch connect to router 1841 that will ensure vlan connect each other.

• How to setup IIS to play sound ? How to created .raw? Where Doccument?

I programming with IPPhone for 3 ys, but so surprised, there is less more less about how to setup the IIS to test RTP (or something like streaming). Please anyone can help to provide information about this. My customer want to Broadcast a wav file to announce some thing, how can I do it? I search all cisco doc but no any infomr

There are 3rd party software out there which can do a much better job at broadcasting wave file, send live page, text notification, weather alerts, etc.
If you want to develop yourself, you need to use RTPTx, RTPRx and CiscoIPPhoneExecute objects from SDK. To broadcast audio to a multicast, there is also sample code available. The problem is managing the phone list and groups and providing an intuitive interface for users and sys admins. I do have some sample code that we used in PhoneTop Messenger product, but it is all in Java and needs a Windows box to host it.

• How to arrive Password expiration situation in Cisco Router

Hi,
i have to test something on cisco router so i have to achieve this following scenario :-
I am trying to login using ssh username & passoword. so i need to expire this username & password on router.
Anybody tell me how to get this situation in my cisco router.
Thanks,
Pranay

Pranay,
Here is a guide on configuring the SSH username and password on your Cisco device:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security-vpn/secure-shell-ssh/4145-ssh.html
You will need to setup the VTY lines, as well as setup a password in order for this to work.
Judging from the screen shot, you will need to run the commands listed in Global Configuration mode. (configure terminal)
Example:
Router#config t
Router(config)# username Pranay priviledge 15 secret 0 yourpassword
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

• VLAN between two Cisco 300 switches

Is it possible to share a VLAN between two Cisco 300 series switches?

Make sure that your port 27 is NOT configured as an access port - it should be a trunk (that's the default). I believe the setting is under VLAN Management > Interface settings.
Also ensure you are setup to tag frames (under the "Port to VLAN" settings).
