SHORT OF 12 MONTHS, I CAN NO LONGER USE MY HP PAVILION DV 2500. WHAT DID HP SERVICE CENTER SAY AFTER TWO WEEKS WITH THEM? REPLACE THE MOTHERBOARD! IT WILL COST ME $350 PLUS TO REPLACE IT. A BIG RIP OFF! I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER HP! AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANY OF OUR STAFF.

We can hear you. Yes, HP has had enormous issues with that series, but the dv2500 is older than 12 months.

Weak wi-fi or factory defect @ ipod 5th generation?

The wi fi connection only works if my ipod 5th is literally next to the router. !!!!!. As soon as I move 1 cm it looks on, but it is not working as you cannot access to safari, or skype or netflix. I have read all the forums , I have reset several times the network, as the factory settings, and it is not working. Even when I am next to the router, AIR Play is not working. I compared it with my ipod 4th and ipad and my mac...in all the other devices is working great, so It should not be the router.

IMac Factory Defect

We purchased our iMac 27" last 2011, and while using it last week the screen suddenly turned white. We went to the independent iMac blog and there were discussions about some of the people who purchased the iMac who experienced the same defect that we experienced on our iMac. Some of them even brought their iMac to Apple and was replaced but how about in the Philippines.
We brought the iMac to Senco Link Technologies Inc. last June 16, 2013 and the company is the Apple's Authorized Service Center in the Philippines and they are charging us Php 20,000.00 to repair the unit. I think this is not what we expect from one of the biggest technology company in the whole world. We are are all using all your products from iMac, iPhones, iTouch, iPads and iPod and we don't expect that this is a biggest factory defect in your technology. As one of your loyal customers, we deserve to be one to be treated with your good customer support if in case there is really a factory defect for our iMac.
I hope and pray that Apple will reconsider to look into this matter.

Were you under warranty when you took the iMac in for service? Unless there is a recall, companies normally do not repair or replace products free of charge after the warranty expires.

HP Pavilion dv7-1000ea - Never full volume/No Bass

Hello, after lashing out over 800 pounds of hard earned student loan money on my HP Pavilion dv7-1000ea I have come across some faults in this expensive yet unreliable laptop.
Sound problem is as follows:
Non functional subwoofer after 3 months of purchase - this includes any kind of sound between 31Hz and 250Hz (bass) is not coming out of my speakers, I tested this with equalizers. Basically the whole of the left side of the equalizer spectrum is not working. This means my laptop speakers are only producing limited sound hence very low volume at 100% compared to fully functional performance on the day of purchase.
First email to HP support = re-install drivers
Second email to HP support = re-install more drivers
Third email to HP support = ignored
Fourth email to HP support = ignored
P.S. -
Other emails that were ignored included dust gathering behind the screen cover of my expensive laptop... dust guys.. £850 and I have dust inside my screen, this isn't a £300 Toshiba... actually it's unfair on the Toshiba they make excellent laptops, never saw dust inside their screens.

Pavilion g7 hard drive full, can't free up space

I have a Pavilion g7 1167 dx laptop with a 500GB hard drive. A couple of months ago I started getting error messages that the computer is low on disk space. This is for both the C and D drives. I haven't installed or added anything that would take up a lot of space so the messages baffle me. I have deleted as many files as I can and freed up a lot of disk space, but every time I do that the space mysteriously disappears within days of sometimes hours.
Another topic here suggested clearing old system restore points, which I did a couple of hours ago. This did not solve the problem at all. Now I'm at my wit's end -- I no longer have restore points, cannot create any others and the system is still critically low on disk space. Help is desperately needed.

Removing the battery and holding down the power button will not affect any of the files but if you run the system recovery it will erase everything. If you run the system recovery, you will have the option to back everything up on the computer.
By what you are explaining, I’m thinking that you have a virus.

The audio meters in software shows fine and displays that audio is being played, even the mute-unmute is displayed as working fine but the mute button above the function keys is always stuck on blue, along with the volume up and volume down keys. The worst part of all this is that I do not have any audio output, from the speakers or from the headphone jack.
I have tried system restore, BIOS update, uninstalling and re-installing audio drivers, both the original drivers via recovery manager and latest ones via hp support, uninstalled QLB and also tried to install the latest drivers via audio's driver details.
Windows Home Premium is installed in hp tx 2531. Whenever I uninstall the Realtek HD Audio drivers, I am not able to update the drivers via installation through sp******.exe that I download from hp support. The installation of the exe files goes fine but the drivers are not listed in the device manager for the Audio. Instead, after restarting windows, Vista automatically installs the original drivers, which does not help. There is no audio output though all the software shows that its all fine.
This is very annoying as I am not being able to get any sound from this Entertainment PC, rendering music and video play useless.

I'm sorry, we are users here just like you. If you have a problem with the phone that you believe is a warranty issue, take it back to where you purchased it or an Apple Store and they will look at it and if it is determined to be a warranty item, they will replace the phone.

I am Charged amount of $591 on my bill for a defective device which has already been returned to verizon. I had contacted customer service but they were not able to help me, I got very confusing solutions from all the four guys that I have spoken to.
Here is the situation. I had a defective samsung fascinate, I called techinical support, after trouble shooting they decided to swap me a motorola droid X instead. I recieved the device and returned the samsung fascinate, I do have the tracking number for the return. Now it seems the warehouse guys are searching for a MOTOROLA DROID X DEFECTIVE PHONE according to fist CS I spoke to. He told me that he is going to put a work order and It will take him 5 business days to retify the situvation. He would give me a call back. I spoke to secound CS as my credit of $-450 was used for this device payment and not my bill?? He told me that is not the case, he put me on hold for 31 minutes( yes, I kept a track of time!) and finally hung up!!!
I called back from landline, spoke to a nice lady. she told me" Yes, sir I see that we have already received the device, it is waiting to be cataloged in the system". The she told me it is going to take upto 2 billing cycles to see the credit. The incidence was on jan11th. I am already into my third billing cycle!!! She told me she has to put some notes into computer and I should see the credit shortly.
I called back as my account is set on autopay, which had to be stopped for preventing this overageous transaction. The guy that I spoke to told me I can pay the amount and a balance of -591 dollars will be applied to my account once the device is cataloged.
My Question to any VZ employee or Tech support is how long will this process take. More so I am worried I will never see my Money Back now!( I am already down by 700 dollars!!). I have returned the device within the 10 business days, the system shows the device recieved, yet I am charger because warehouse is confused about the model being a fascinate and Not a DROID X.
Someone Please help me regarding this. I am really worried with this event. I am loyal VZ customer for last 7 years.

No, I got iphone with my two year contract renewal. How Can I get numbers to higher authorities? I have tried CS but they just tell me to wait and wait. Last one I spoke to said they have update my account and I will recieve the said amount by my third cycle? I dont know wheather i should wait for one more month to see If this shows up? My worry is since I have already paid the amount, they will not refund it back, but make excuses to post pone the case.
Any VZ employee please help me resolve this issue. I have already contacted Fedex and they have verified both the delivery confirmations to verizon warehouse. They also told me that they can provide signature confirmations for them if required by VZ.

Pavilion dv7-4060us Color Printing Problems...

I just bought a new Pavilion dv7-4060us Notebook and am having problems printing in color. I have a Xerox Phaser 8550DP PS Printer that I'm trying to connect to through a wireless network connection. I can find the printer on the network and install the "Xerox Phaser 8550DP PS" driver online just fine. But, after all that, when I try to print, it will only print in Black and White. For some reason it just will not print in color. I've looked through all my "printer properties" and it doesn't even show color options! It's like my computer just doesn't even recognize that the printer can print colors. Like maybe that printer's driver is for some reason not recognizing it as that actual printer?!
I tried deleting the printer and the driver off my computer and installing it using the printer's original CD, but it says it's not compatible with Windows 7 OS. But installing the driver via online and using the CD should basically be the same thing shouldn't it? So that can't be the problem. The "HP printer help website" doesn't really help at all because it's a Xerox printer and not an HP. After reading through some forum posts I figured maybe it was a firewall problem, but wouldn't the firewall stop me from printing all together...not just prevent me from printing color?
Has anyone seen this happen before or heard of anything like this happening? Right when I got the computer I kind of went through and deleted a few things I thought were Crapware, so the only thing I can think of right now is that maybe I accidentally deleted some kind of software program that lets me print color?! Which doesn't really make any sense, so I don't think that's it.
Also, I know it's not a Windows 7 OS problem or my wireless connection because my brother's computer uses Windows 7 and connects through wireless as well, but his can print color just fine. He set his computer up like a year ago so he can't remember how he set it all up or what he did, so he's kind of useless.
As of right now the only thing I can think of to do is try posting on this HP help forum and post on the Xerox Printer help forum and see if anyone has any advice for me. If you have any ideas I'm up for trying anything because I pretty much NEED to be able to print from this computer!! Any information can help out a lot so just let me know. Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem with my dv7-4171us, my husband has the same printer and it print fine on my Xerox but mine only prints in black and white, its very frustrating. I called HP and after 2 hours on the phone they couldnt fix it either.
I'm thinking of doing a full "f11" factory restore. If anyone knows how to fix the color printing problem please let me know.

Notification of Storage Full on iPhone problem Help!

Whenever I get the notification that my storage is almost full it takes me into General > Usage where I will delete some apps that have accumulated data (with the plan of re-installing them). Every time I do this I get stuck in Settings and it will not let me return to the home screen. Both the Home button and Power button become unresponsive and I am forced to reset (it will let me manoeuvre within Settings which is odd). This would be fine if it only happened occasionally but I get this notification weekly when I have only used up 13 of the 16gb on my phone. Is this a factory defect or is there a way to fix it apart from removing more gigs (I'm really down to the bare minimum and would like to not have to delete even more stuff)?

The lcd screen of my 15-inch Macbook Pro (mid 2009) is separating from the case. The glue failed due to the heat. How can I get Apple to fix this factory flaw?

The heat vented from the back of the laptop caused the glue to fail and now the screen is separating from back of the lcd case near the hinges. I know for a fact that this issue is known by Apple as I have seen the issue reported at least a dozen times. This laptop was considerably more expensive than any comparable laptop at the time I bought it. I bought it believing that I was buying a quality product from a quality company. I've owned many laptops and I have never seen anything like this. My laptop is out of warranty but this is really besides the point. This is clearly a factory defect that Apple should remedy. What do I need to do to get Apple to fix this design flaw?

In apple store they refer to some articles. One of them says
'Apple does not respond for internal damage caused by accident'
It is known that apple chage lcds in case of burn in. The guy from store said that because of crack
they will not change the screen that from the beginning was factory defect.
So if i bring that laptop with burn in defect but without crack they would change it, in case of crack

I hear what you're saying about a Nexus acting as an FCF, but I am not sure whether you're saying that a Nexus in NPV mode is considered a hop.
Anyway, I have heard this debate before on the blogosphere. Whether a device is considered a hop or not seems to be a point of contention. I am also reading INCITS BB5 in its totality, yet I dont see any definition of what is considered a hop. Albeit, I havent finished reading it yet.
In my humble opinion, it makes sense to me to think of an FCoE hop as being any DCB switch that is passing FCoE traffic and acting on a level higher than the PHY and MAC layers. For example, a hop would be a device that is aggregating FCoE traffic/FLOGIs from all the blades in the chassis, or performing FIP snooping, or changing the VN-port to VF-port constructs between the CNAs and the ToR FCF forwarder switch port – basically, a device that is acting on the FCoE traffic and changing the manner in which it is presented to the ToR switch port would make the device a “hop,” just like a Nexus in NPV mode.

Warranty -Problems From the Factory-

My recently purchased Yoga 2 (2 months old)has required re-installation of Window 3 times and finally would not let me install any software at all. This problem began 3 weeks after the purchase of the unit and now Lenovo Support will NOT REPLACE THIS FACTORY DEFECTIVE MACHINE!!! Do not buy this computer, Lenovo does not stand by their work!!

If it were me, I'd take it in to the nearest Apple Store and have the experts look at it. It won't cost you anything, you just purchased it so it is still under warranty. I wouldn't waste any time before doing it either.

How do i reset my time capsule without a password?

I just bought my Time Capsule. I started it up and registered it and so on.
Then I used the network to backup my computer, but because of the power got shut off during the night
it stopped backing up my computer.
Now I wanna backup my computer, but it wont let me because it wants a password.
I didnt give it a password, but just to make sure I tried every password I could think of, but nothing.
No I would like to ask:
How do I reset/format my Time Capsule with out using a password?
I tried in disc utilities but it doesnt come up (im using an ethernet cable) and nothing.
Please help me!

That is strange.
The default password is public.. just try that.
If not a soft reset, and it should reset just the passwords.
Otherwise do a full or factory reset.. it will not erase the disk.

You can do that from inside the airport utility .. not from disk utility.. but use vs 5.6 if you are on Lion OS.
