HT203167 RINGTONES PURCHASED

I purchased more than 20 ringtones since 2008. I recently changed my pc to imac and I also purchase iphone 5 at the same time. Now on my itunes account I have a proof of payment for my ringtones but when I looked at my purchased items they are not there. I tried to contact itunes support however they sent me an email that they cannot reimburse me the purchased ringtones. I DONT WANT TO BE REIMBURSE. All I want is my purchased ringtones to be able to work or to be able to be transffered to my itunes account. Thanks for help.

I don't believe ringtones would be placed in the iOS device backup. If purchased on the device they ought to have transfered into the media library. If that was backed up you're all good, otherwise they are gone. Purchased ringtones, like audiobooks, come as a one time only download.

  • TS4036 How do I get my ringtones & purchases back from Icloud??

I don't know how to use Icloud at all, but I went in to At&t and they got me a different iphone then said they backed up all my ringtones & purchases to icloud, how do I get it back? When I go to icloud.com I can't even sign in anywhere... Help!

If the AT&T store backed up your old phone to iCloud, you have to restore your phone to your backup to recover data such as messages, email accounts, camera roll photos, app data and ringtones, as well as your settings.  This has to be done during the initial phone setup.  If your phone is already set up, you'll have to go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  Then go back through the setup screens on the phone again, and when given the option choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below).  Be sure you phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.

Where are my ringtone purchase iPhone 5?

  • HT4859 How do I re download ringtone purchases

I can't find the area in my phone to redownload my ringtone purchases from iCloud?

I believe iTunes store policy does not provide the ability to re-download ringtones as you can with other purchased media.  Try contacting iTunes store support and perhaps they will make an exception and allow you to do so: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html.

  • Ringtones purchased on iPhone via iTunes app do not show up in settings

I bought ringtones via the iTunes app on my iPhone instead of buying ringtones through my PC.
But the 100 ringtones from a collection I bought do not show up in my settings for sound, or are listed in Contacts for assigning a ringtone to individuals.
I wanted to emphasize these are NOT custom ringtones, these are legitimate ring tones purchased from iTunes.
How can I assign the purchased ringtones to contacts and as the default ringtone when they are not listed?
On a related note, how can I delete some of the standard ringtones?

How to create custom ringtones ...
    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Find the song that you want to make into a ringtone.
    3. Listen to the song and find the part of it you want to use. The chorus may be a good place to start.
    4. Write down the start and stop times of the clip.
    5. Right-click the song and select "Get Info."
    6. Click the "Options" tab.
    7. Type in the start time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Start Time" in the minutes:seconds (i.e., 2:01) format.
    8. Type in the end time of your ringtone in the text box next to "Stop Time." Make sure the ringtone is no more than 30 seconds long.
    9. Click "OK."
    10. Right-click your song again and select "Convert Selection to AAC." Wait for iTunes to convert your song. It will create a duplicate version.
    11. Right-click the ringtone and select "Delete."
    12. Click on the "Keep Files" button.
    13. Find the file. It's usually in your User folder under "Music > iTunes > iTunes Music" and under the band's name. It will have an extension of m4a.
    14. Replace the m4a extension of your ringtone with m4r. You can either double-click slowly to rename your file, or right-click and select "Get Info" on a Mac or "Rename" on a Windows PC.
    15. Click "Use .m4r" or the PC equivalent when the system warns you that the change may affect the use of your file.
    16. Double-click the ringtone file. ITunes will automatically add it to your ringtones folder in your iTunes Music Library.
    17. Connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.
Oh, also to change a file extension. (not sure on Mac), but in Windows you need to go to "control panel" select "folder options". You need to uncheck the box "hide file extension for known file types". This will allow you to view and change the files extensions.
    Hope this is useful ...

  • Trying to open ringtone purchased - Droid Razr M

I purchased a ringtone through the VW site, and I can't seem to access it to save it and choose it as my ringtone.  When I go to my text messages, it shows "Unsupported multimedia message."  When I select it and view message details, it says "congratulations!  you have successfully purchased your Verizon Wireless ringtone."  The instructions i got said to press and hold on the message, and a menu/option would come up to save the ringtone.  Then I would go to my settings and find the ringtone in sounds and voila! New ringtone would be there, choose, etc.....
I can't seem to get to where I press and hold on the message to save the ringtone.  Can someone help me with this, or do I need to go to the VW store and get them to take care of this or credit me the charge for the ringtone?  I was surprised that the phone didn't already come preloaded with just a simple telephone ringtone, so I am trying to download one.
    Thanks for any help.

I went to the Verizon store, and the rep couldn't help with it.  It wouldn't open for her, either.  She downloaded a ringtone app for me, from which I chose the one I wanted, and advised me to call VW and request a credit for the charge for the ringtone I got off the site.  They are crediting the 2.99 back to me on my next bill.  I just won't try to buy a ringtone off the VW site anymore.

Sync your Ringtones from Tones library over.
Connect your device to computer.  Select your iPhone under 'Devices' on iTunes left Pane, then on right Pane, go to Tones tab and make sure SYNC TONES box is checked and click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right Window

    Hi,
I have an i-pod nano purchased 1 year ago & I have just got a new iPhone 3GS purchased last week. Everything has been great so far.
The problem is with a ringtone I purchased through iTunes on my iPhone. It was fine but when I synced the iPhone to my iTunes on my lap top it has stolen the ringtone & iTunes says that I do not have permission to put it back on my iPhone.
It's really annoying, can someone please assist at all?! Please.
    Cheers,

    1) Connect you iPhone so it shows in iTunes
    2) Select the iPhone under devices
    3) Click on the Ringtone tab
    4) Check (tick) "Sync ringtones"
    5) Clear "All ringtones" and check (tick) "Selected ringtones" - check (tick) each ringtone individually
    6) Click the "Sync" button

  • Ringtone purchased, no where to be found

I know this is an ongoing problem, however I have read through others problems on this for almost and hour and tried every suggested fix.
I purchase a ringtone on Verizon Tones, today - was told it couldn't download because not enough storage (or something, do not have the exact wording).
    Samsung S4.
Do not want to buy it again to just go through the same stuff.
It is not in downloads, music, etc. under files
    Thanks

  • Ringtones purchased not appear in sounds on my iPhone 6

I've been notice that my purchased ringtones not appear on the next day on my iPhone 6.
Because of that, how do I claim my money from apple for this matter?
I do not have Mac OS for iTune store to transfer the ringtone files for the next purchase.

There has been a issue with ringtones and apple knows about it and is working on fixing it.
Apple is advising customers not to repurchase ringtones and if you did, just give them a ring and they will refund you.
Until then don't purchase any more ringtones at least until the next update.
You can request a refund by going to the Account section within iTunes on a Mac or PC, or you can get help by chat, or contact Apple Care.

  • Ringtones purchased from iTunes not showing up under Text Tones in iOS 5

I just upgraded to IOS 5 on my 3Gs and i am glad to see there are new Tone options but i can not find the ringtones i purchased earlier this year under text tones. I can find the ones i made but not the ones i purchased from itunes.

I had the same issue.  Try this:  go into iTunes, select your iPhone, go to Ringtones tab, check the Sync seclected Ringtones, deselect the ringtones that you pruchansed from iTunes Store.  Now Apply/Sync the phone.  When it's done, Go back to the Ringtones tab and select Sync all Ringtones.  Apply/Sync the phone again.  Now go to a contact and set a ringtone, you should see all the purchased ringtones.  Good luck.

  • How to Sync the Ringtone Purchased not from Itunes store to Iphone?

I purchased the ringtone from Amazon but after it was downloaded to the Itunes Library I could not transfer it to the Ringtone Icon in order to Sync it to the Iphone. Any ideas or advices. Thanks,

Have you converted the ringtone to .m4r format?

  • ITunes ringtone purchases a rip-off?

New iPhone user here. I read up the docs about getting ringtones at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1491 as well as various forum posts explaining the (tedious) steps for getting custom ringtones for free. So I decided to avoid the hassle, and purchase some ringtones. Found an album of the ones I liked, and downloaded them to the phone. They now are findable under iPod app, under Albums.
The big problem is that the purchased ringtones are NOT available under Settings -> Sounds -> Ringtone, as the KB article above leads one to believe (see the section under Purchasing Content, then Ringtones).
Could someone please explain whether I just got "taken" by Apple for $3.99?

As I recall, I just used the search feature, then previewed a few tracks and grabbed the album. I suppose that means I purchased "songs", and not "ringtones"?
Would be nice to see a disclaimer in the iTunes album description? Otherwise the whole experience wreaks of the old-school eBay scams where people would buy a "box" of some item, and not the item itself.
