HT5312 My security questions do not have the "Forgot your answers" option at the bottom

My security questions do not have the "Forgot your answers" option at the bottom

The send reset link only appears if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If it's not showing then that implies that you don't have one, and you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions - you will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset).
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down this page to add a rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312

  • HT201485 my security question doesn't have the "forgot your answers? send reset security info to ...".

I recently bought a $15 itunes gift card and when I used it I didn't know I had to answer security questions which I forgot the answers to, so I tried to reset it on the MyApple ID but the "forgot your answers?" option was not there. Please Help.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

  • I do not have a "Activate new device" option in the Sync menu on my desktop browser.

I do not have a "Activate new device" option in the Sync menu on my desktop browser.
How do I get it to appear?
When I go to Options - Sync - Manage Account I see:
    View Quota
    Change Password
    My Sync Key
    Reset Sync
    Stop Using This Account

The "Add a device" link should appear right below the "Manage Account" button. If it is not there, make sure you have the latest version of the Firefox Sync add-on (or the latest version of Firefox 4 Beta).
Click on the image below for an illustration. For more details, see [[How do I add a device to Firefox Sync?]]

  • HT5312 My security questions are not what I submitted. Somehow they have changed themselves and I can't buy anything. Please help!

How can I change this? This isn't the first time this has happened and I have never showed anyone my password.

A login password for the computer is not the password used for your Apple ID. To change a forgotten or lost password:
    Forgot Your Account Password
For Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
        Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
instructions in the dialog window that will appear.

  • HT5312 reset security questions - i dont have a rescue email adress

I dont have a rescue email adress set up, my apple id is like3-4 years old and i dont remember had a rescue mail. i need to purchase some apps, i dont remember my security answers ! what do i do?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • HT5312 that forgot your answers link on the security questions reset, is no longer there. :(

    i need some help.

That option will only appear if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account. If it doesn't show then I assume that you don't have one, in which case see if the instructions on this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

  • Every time I am asked for my Apple password, I put it in and then it is not recognized.  When I answer the security question, I am told it is wrong.  I reset the password, try again, and we start all over again.  Not recognized.

How can I get Apple to recognize me? Every time I try to put in my Apple password, it doesn't recognize it.  I try answering the security question, will not recognize it.  I end up changing the password then try signing in again and it won't recognize it.  We start all over again.

Have you changed the email address associated with the Apple ID? I did, and learned the hard way that it caused a lot of problems. I had to delete that ID and create a new one, then it caused problems with iCloud because of my old email address. If that's not the case, you might need to set up a new Apple ID altogether. Sounds like a pain, but it's not too hard, and you only need to create a new email address. You can also set up new security questions for the new ID and it should be recognized when you enter the information in iTunes, the App Store, etc. If that doesn't work, I recommend calling Apple and explaining the situation. Here's the page for Apple support numbers depending on where you live:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/he57
    Hope this helps.

  • 6700 - turn off the Share Your Photos option on th...

    Hi,
I hope someone can help me with a 6700 Slide issue.
How do you turn off the 'Share Your Photos' option on the main screen ?
I've spent hours looking through all the menus but can't seem to find out how to do it.
I've managed to turn off all the other icons/menus on the main screen so I can see the Wallpaper image clearly.
This is the last item I need to remove.
    Thanks.
    Mark
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    That's awesome !!!
The 'Share Your Photos' option is finally gone :-)
    Thank you !
What a weird place to hide that setting in. I wonder why it isn't on the 'Personalisation'--'Standby mode' options screen like the other display related optins ?????
    Cheers, Mark

The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail
       1. Use Apple's Express Lane.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the
bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then
'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple
ID security questions' and click 'Continue'. Please be patient waiting for the return
phone call. It will come in time depending on how heavily the servers are being hit.

I want to change my icloud id on my iPhone, but it won't let me now that i have upgraded.  I no longer have the password and the problem is It is using an old id which the email isn't valid and the security question does not think my birthday is valid.  I cannnot delete the account because "find my iphone" wants the password linked to this old account.  But when i go into the find my iphone app it is using my corect Apple ID.  How do i fix this?

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  You can now go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your correct iCloud ID and password.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to have them reset the password so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You can either go to https://expresslane.apple.com, select "More Products and Services", then "Apple ID", then  on the next page select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Lost or forgotten Apple ID password" and click "Continue"; or you can contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).
