I have ordered a movie from Apple TV and found it would take 10 hours and 27 minutes to down load. How do I stop it, and reverse my order????

The problem is generally due to a slow internet connection.
AppleTV files are fixed size.
For SD you need 2.5Mbps, 720p HD 6 Mbps and 1080p 8 Mbps sustained speeds to view immediately.
If your internet delivers these speeds you should be able to play within seconds.
If slower AppleTV works out how long it will take do download the rental of say 3.5GB for a 720p movie, then subtracts the running time of the movie and whatever that figure is is how long it'll take to start.
So if a movie is 2 hours long and you have a fast connection and it calculates the movie could download in under 2 hours it'll play withing seconds.
If it thinks it'll take 4 hours to download, it'll subtract the running time of 2 hours and allow you to play in 2 hours time.
While this may not seem ideal the reason is that if it didn't precahce on a slow connection you would not be able to play a movie through without stopping and starting to cache the next section.
Unfortunately this is compounded by using the AppleTV for other things as this can reset the clock by flushing any of the rental cached.

It sounds as though you have purchased it to me, does it actually say anything about 30 days.
Rentals will stay available for 30 days, but if you start watching them the 24/48 hour timer starts counting down. This is the standard rental model, there is no alternative.

Welcome to the Apple community.
A number of people have reported similar issues recently, many appear to have found a discrepancy of some kind in their account settings and making changes to these settings or simply resetting them has resolved the matter.
Check your account details are correct, check that you are using the correct details for Location, Region and Time Zone. You may want to change these settings and then change them back to see if that helps.
You might also try logging out of and then back into your iTunes account (Settings > iTunes Store > Apple ID’s > Sign Out) and restarting your router. (Some have reported that after doing this, they need to check for rentals even though it may report that there aren’t any, after which rentals once again appear in the ‘movies’ feature)
Rentals should appear under their own heading in the ‘Movies’ feature, you might also check at Settings > iTunes Store > Check For Rentals.

First you should try logging out of your iTunes Store account (settings > iTunes Store > accounts) and then back in again.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings). You should also try restarting your router.
If both of the above don't help, you should try a restore (Settings > General > Reset > Restore).

I got the same error and can't get it to work. So what is meant here is spend more money - wrong answer.
For that reason most people prefer to buy movies on DVD. They are easily shared, foolproof, and super easy to use. I love Apple TV and iTunes for music and TV shows, but I would never purchase a movie that was not on an optical disc.
When I head out-of-town I can grab a couple of DVDs to watch on my new MacBook Pro during the flight. Easy and uncomplicated.
DVDs offer another advantage. You can watch your movie without depending upon a complicated and delicate infrastructure. Also, movies are frequently censored for political correctness (Star Wars is a recent example). Despite public pressure for a release, the Disney movie “Song of the South” remains banned. Even cartoons like Johnny Quest are now censored. Only people who purchased physical copies years ago have them as they were originally produced.
When you possess a physical copy of the movie the PC patrol can't mess with it.

Yes, start the movie on your iPad and tap on the AirPlay icon and chose AppleTV from the list.
You can't "transfert" your rental to your AppleTV but you can stream it using AirPlay.

I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple in the past asking letting me know a purchase had been made and asking if I had made the purchase, but the item listed has alway been a purchase that I had made. Since I had received similar emails in the past, I didn't think anything of it. Because I had not purchased the item listed, I immediately clicked on the link in order to change my password, which has been suggested in authentic emails i had received from Apple in the past. The site I was redirected to was exactly the same as the Apple site where you go to change your password. I entered my userID and password and it stated a verification email would be sent, if it was not sent click "resend email." When I did not receive an email, after about 10 seconds I went to the Apple site and followed the SAME EXACT step on pages that were IDENTICAL to the FRAUDULENT website I apparently had just been at. When I clicked "Send verification email," I DID receive an email within seconds, which had a special link that brought me to a page where I could change my password, which I did. I later compared a legitimate email to the FRAUDULENT email and I DID FIND A DIFFERENCE, BUT IT WAS ALMOST UNNOTICEABLE unless you were really, really looking. I doubt it would be noticed by anyone if not comparing it closely to a real email. THE DIFFERENCE WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE AUTHENTIC EMAIL, THERE WERE THREE LINKS THAT COULD BE SELECTED - My Apple ID/Support/Privacy Policy. ON THE FRAUDULENT EMAIL THESE LINKS WERE NOT PRESENT!!! Just today I received an email from Apple stating my password had been changed today. I did not change my password today. When I changed after getting the fake email, I did not think about my SECURITY QUESTIONS!!! If you forget your Apple password, you are able to answer the security questions in place of your ID and you get a confirmation email. Even though I changed my password within a one minute when I did not get a confirmation email with a link to change my password right away and I went dierctly to Apple's site, apparently it was enough time to take all the information on my account - INCLUDING MY DEBIT CARD NUMBER, WHICH HAD BEEN REQUIRED WHEN I INITIALLY SET UP THE ACCOUNT!!! Today I received a call from VISA FRAUD PROTECTION asking about strange activity on my account and stating they were concerned and wanted to ensure I had used the account. I HAD NOT, AND ALL THE MONEY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT HAD BEEN STOLEN!!!!! I am writing this in hopes that many people will see it and NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM. Please pay close attention to any emails you supposedly receive from Apple - If the links "MY APPLE ID/SUPPORT/PRIVACY POLICY," PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME IT IS AN AUTHENTIC EMAIL FROM APPLE. I guess I assumed there had been something wrong with the link in the email directing me to where I could change my password, plus I had gone to the valid Apple website and changed my password for real, and I guess I was thinking that changing my password would prevent someone from being able to acces my account info. No need for alarm. There are several folks a day posting like threads. Most folks know these phishing attempts for what they are and merely delete with prejudice.
To the bottom line... if you wish - and I am sure Apple will take notice - you should FORWARD the email to [email protected] and delete.

While I am no fan of Best Buy and would not buy a lightbulb from them I doubt you issues have anything to do with your iMac and more to do with your lack of experience and simply getting bad advice. Judging by you post I suspect you have loaded your computer down with a lot of crapware and that has caused it's problems. For example running antivirus apps on a Mac not only is a waste of time, it's a waste of money, system resources and will eventually create more problems that it solves. Please begin educating yourself on the subject by reading Thomas Reeds articles on the subject, Thomas is a frequent and knowledgeable contributor to these forums. The good news is here are absolutely no, zero, zippo viruses for OS X. There are other types of malware available (for example trojans) however they differ greatly from viruses in that the use has to download and install them, whereas viruses do not work that way. OS X is not like MS Windows and is extremely secure.
My suggestion at this point would be to clean your computer of the crapware (including antivirus apps) however before doing so please download and install EtreCheck and post its report. Then we can see how your computer has been configured and begin to give you some advice on the next steps.
