I need to get a clean copy of Firefox. Mine is corrupted.

I want to dump my current version of Firefox and start fresh. I have been using Firefox since it first came out and I have updated regularly. I currently have Version 7.0.1 which I had been using for quite a while without problems and which supposedly is being updated automatically.
Nonetheless, when I hit help, I am told that my Firefox is out of date. However, I can't update it, probably because it is already up-to-date but is corrupted. I want a new copy that works. Please tell me how to replace my current corrupted copy.
I really, really, really do not want to use Chromee or Internet Explorer, but I can't do anything on Firefox anymore (no online banking, no eBay, no signing into my favorite website and being treated as though I am signed in.)

Also, so long as you are here, I am getting these little squares with 4 corners, each of which has a strange symbol and will give a definition or other information if I hover over it. I don't want to do this if I am being tracked. Also, sometimes the squares block what I am reading and I don't know how to move them. Is there a FAQ that can help me?

Do you have a certificate installed on your web server, so you can use a secure connection?
You only need to upload the file(s) to a server that supports a secure connection and send the link to such a file to others that you want to be able to download the file.
Firefox will never auto run the file and always offer to save the file, so if they use Firefox then this wouldn't be an issue.
Best would be if the server is configured to send the file as application/octet-stream as that will always force a download action.

Why didn't you also close Firefox? The error message makes no mention of Safari. Have you checked the Force Quit window to determine if Firefox is running? Tried shutting down or restarting your computer?

Need to install a fresh copy of firefox

after I uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security webpages stopped loading. I'm getting Unable to connect message. This issue affected 3 out of 4 browsers that I use. All browsers work in safe mode, but Safari is the only one that works in normal mode. IE Chrome, and Firefox will not work. I thought I need to make a fresh install of the browser to work. First I've tried to reset Firefox to to default settings - this didn't solve issue. So question: how do I install a truly fresh copy of the browser?

Sorry, I cannot duplicate the error that you are seeing to be able to figure out how to find a solution. One of my Time Capsules has been full for months, but it always makes room for any new backups.
If you really don't need all the old backups from months ago, the simplest and fastest thing to do is erase the Time Capsule drive and start all over with a new backup and move forward from there.
Otherwise, you can manually delete backups, but the process is very time consumming because it takes a long time to delete individual files. I do not recommend this, but will provide you with some links of instructions for "how to's" on this if you want to give it a try. You will be on your own if you do this.
If you want to preserve all of your current backups, then you will need to add another Time Capsule and start backups to that new device. Buy the largest drive capacity that you can afford. I have yet to meet the first person who ever regretted buying too large of a hard drive.

What do I need to get better sound from my Mac mini

The sound from my external speakers is very poor. I am hard of hearing(50% in one ear) and I find it very difficult to follow a conversation etc.

I saw some similar issues posted for earlier versions, but our tech support group will not make changes and say Firefox is not a supported browser environment. So, I need to get an earlier version of Firefox until the interaction problem is fixed.

If you subscribed to iTunes match the songs are kept in icloud. If you didn't but you did save the actual iTunes library folder which should include the music, video, etc. you should be able to just drag this file back to your machine in the same place and when you open iTunes it will give you a chance to identify the iTunes library folder.
You can test this to find out if you saved the media files or not and don't need to attach your nano to do it.
You are correct that once you connect the nano it will clear the existing files from it and sync it with the new iTunes library.
If you don't have the media files i'm not sure if/how to get them back on a windows ipod. I have everything backed up regularly because of the horror stories I have seen & heard.

Yes you can make a USB stick of Lion or Mt Lion. Use Lion Disk Maker after you download OS X from the internet.
For Lion you have to point the download to an external drive and watch when it completes and reboots the system to start the install disconnect the external. If you bought Mt Lion from the Mac App Store then you can download it from there and just cancel the install when it comes up on the desktop.
If you are downloading from the Recovery HD or from the Online Internet Recovery system, slightly different then the built in Recovery HD, then again you need to point it to an external drive and discoonect that drive when the system reboots to start the real install.
Then use Lion disk maker to create either a DVD disc or USB thumb of the install files.

probably you have 3 shortcuts on your desktop, if it is shortcuts they will have a small arrow on the firefox icon (see the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screenshot screenshot]). Right click on each shortcut you want to delete and select delete(don't be afraid, you delete only the shortcut, not the program, the program you can find it in windows start > all programs).
