Issue in Subcontract Challan Creation

Dear All,
We just started subcontractor challan process in sap for tracking the material supplied to vendor and finding the stock which will be laying at more than 180 days at vendor end.
The issue we found is while creating subcontract challan excise group and other details not stored, since we are doing testing and it would be resolve before implementing.

    hi sap expert,
    when iam creating  subcontracting challan it is giving error message no 8i374.   For j_1i57fc   i have created number range in 2009 year  but it is taking 2008 year number range  problem is that when iam creating the subcontracting challan it is taking number range from 2008 year and iam not able to do reconiliation. because according to system the excise year is 2008.

    Please note that Since the fiscal year is from April - March.
    System will consider 2008 as the fiscal year for excise postings till you open new fiscal year.

  • Creation of subcontracting challan

    Hi all,
    I have done all the required customization settings,,,
    procedure i followed is:
    1. created two raw materials with material type ROH, - materials R1, R2
        cretated a semifinished material with material type HALB- material S1
    2.created a BOM for semifinished material S1 and assigned materials R1, R2      as components.
    3. Created a PO with item category 'L', material S1, quantity 1, exploded BOM for assigning rawmaterials R1, R2.
    4. Accessed t_code MB1B- movement type 541, with reference to purchase order for providing material to vendor.
    5. Now I run t_code J1IF01 for creating subcontracting challan,,, there i had given material document, year, excise group, service group and executed the t_code,
    and all the required fields in the transaction were filled and saved.
    so finally system giving me this message:
    Document  2007 10 created
    problem is ,,, its not creating a number for subcontracting challan,,,
    i had filled up all the excise data for the material,,,
    someone can me help me out in this issue,urgent.

    I had checked these number ranges viz. J_1IINTNUM, J_1IRG23A1,J_1IRG23A2, J_1I57FC all were maintained correctly,
    System creating the subcontracting challan,, but it is not picking up the number range, I have selected the print immediately option and got the print with no subcontracting challan number...
    as soon as I saved the Subcontracting challan, system gives this message
    Document 2007, 50 created,,, here 2007 is the fiscal year, and 50 is the series group.
    checked all the excise registers, excise group, material chapter id combination,,, everythings is ok,, kindly help me out in this issue.

    In our company we use one component and received two end product( one is final product and other one is scrap product)
    My problem is how to treat this scrap in challan process.

    Hi, Please use the exit to define how you want the system to consider Scrap in the subcontracting process.
    Refer below exit for your problem,
    1084323 USER-EXIT to update challan status if scrap is calculated
    1103537 Correction to note 1084323 for ECC 6.0 Release
    Please note the user exit will be accessed only if you were to write a code for it and you assigned/made 545 O as relevant to subcontracting
    subcontracting scrap will work if the scrap percentage is defined for the component which is sent to the job worker. If you have a completely new material for scrap then this is not going to work as the system will never be able to assign the qty (mismatch of material code between the scrap material & the challan material).

  • SUBCONTRACTING CHALLAN ISSUE

    Dear All ,
                                  user is making a " SUBCONTRACTING CHALLAN ", here user had entered 17 items as he wants to save it a warning msg comes 17 times that " ASSESABLE VALUE IS ZERO FOR THIS MATERIAL ." Pl help where to maintain this assesable value -
    i also watn to know that is this assesable value ia same as the net price given in P.O in item overview ,  is this assesable value automatically comes or it is to be filled manually .

    Hi,
    Check as below,
    You can print a subcontracting challan when you create it, or if you need to print it later on, in the change transaction.
    From the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Indirec Taxes ® Procurement ® Subcontracting ® Subcontracting Challans ® Change.
    On the Posting tab, select Print Immediately.
    Enter the number of the preprinted stationery, if necessary.
    This number will be saved for future reference.
    Save the challan.
    Although, a delivery note ( issue material document( mvmt type 541)) can also be used with challan number printed on it for this purpose.You have to develop a form for this purpose.

  • Excise Invoice Selection Vs assessable value in Subcontracting Challan

    Hi,
    I have maintained the Assessable Value for my subcontracting components and also there is Excise Invoice exists for this components. While creating Subcontracting challan, system is displaying information message that Material  XXXXXX has an assessable value, but I would like to refer the Excise Invoice.
    Hence, when I click the Excise Invoice selection, there is no effect. As per SAP message "The message is for information purpose only. Go ahead with the option selected" system should ignore this message and allow me to select Excise Invoices but it is not happening.
    Is this bug or any other config setting to be done to overcome this issue?.

    Hi,
    For every excisable material (whether you procure, manufacture or sale) has to be declared as excisable material in table J1ID with appropriate chapter ID, assessable value & CENVAT declaration.
    When you send the excisable material to the sub-contractor the material needs to be returned back to your plant within 180 days. If this is not done, then you will have to pay back the excise duty on the material with base value as assessable value. Hence it is required to maintain the assessable value.

  • Mismatch of qty in subcontracting challan reconcilliation

    Hi,
    When we issue the material using subsequent adjustment.During the reconciliation of subcontracting challan,
    1) Challan quantity is not getting updated,
    2) Material sent to item in subsequent adjustment  is getting added in GR quantity, in subcontracting challan
    E.g.
    Subcontract PO qty: 10
    Qty sent to vendor using subsequent adjustment: 5
    After reconciliation of subcontracting challan,challan qty remains same i.e. 10. 
    GR qty in the challan is 5.
    Please help.

  • MIGO Error -while refering the subcontracting challan

    Hi all
    1.)We purchsed material from vendor A & send these material to vendor B directly for Job work ( for this we have seperate PO with subcontractor)
    2.) In Material PO we tick SC vendor & give vendor B.
    3.) Then made GR(with only part 1)
    4.) MMBE report shows stock provide to vendor B.
    5.) After that we made subcontracting challan for vendor B with reference to GR number.
    6.)Then capture and post the Excise invoice no
    7.) Now when I am trying to the GRN of subcontracting PO and refering the subcontracting challan , system is throwing an error " Challan material is different from material document "
    Usualy in the normal scenario, while doing the 541 movement type , we use to refer the subcon PO(by making the PO no field mandatory/optional against the movement type 541 in customization ) , as during MIGO, system checks the PO no against  the material issued and PO against the GRN is being done, if it does't matches, then the above error comes.
    But in the above scenario, there is no way to give the reference of giving the subcon PO during 101 "o" . that is why , this error is coming.
    Please suggest the way out , how to deal this scenario.

        I have an issue in cancellation of a Subcontracting challan which is created in March 2009(fiscal year 2008).Our user forget to cancel the challan in last month(April 2009).When they try to cancel now(May 2008),it shows the following error
    "Return date is lapsed and reversal of modvat credit is pending"
    How to solve this?

  • Subcontracting challan Reconcilation

    Dear All,
    We have got a PO [subcontracting] of multiple line items . we make 57F4challan and issue the materials thru 541 mvt. we make GR for individual line items.
    when we make the GR for the first line item with reference to challan and reconcile the challan through J1IFQ it orks fine.
    But when we make the GR for the second  line item with reference to the same challan it throws an error message saying that the challan is aldready reconciled and it does not allow me to further refer that challan for GR.
    Plz help.

    HI,
    Because when u issue the materials to the subcontractor thro 57F4 u issue them all in a single challan.
    When the GR is done with respect to single item with reference to the same subcontracting challan it considers only 1 item ( as the Gr is done for the same item)
    You cannot give the same reference again for the second item.
    If you do the GR for all the items against the subcontracting challan then it may allow you to reconcile the challan further thus keeping it open till all the items are done.
    PLease check the same.

  • Re -Reconcillation of subcontracting challan against "102" mov type mat doc

    Dear All,
    While we are doing the reconcilliation of the Material document (mov type-"102" ) against the subcontracting challan (ALREADY fully reconcilled against 101 material document, but not compeleted), then system is NOT allowing us to do the reconcillation, requirement is to reduce the qty assignment  in already reconcilled challan, as we have reversed the material document
    1.) When we have assigned the 102 movement type to movement type group to 0001( Issue movement type group)
    then system is giving an error message : 8I567-Challan not valid, Material doc. is valid for another scenario during J1IFQ.
    2.) and when we are assigning the 102 movement type to movement type group 0002( Receipt movement type group) , then system gives error message : 8I574 -Material XXX is not assigned fully, short by YYY KG
    Please suggest the right way of doing it.

    If a challan is reconciled it should not be opened again. That is illegal. You need to do subsequent adjustment if you want to alter your consumption in subcontract. If you do 102 and reverse your consumed material,You need to include 544 movement type in your movement type grouping then You need to create a new 45a challan.

  • How to cancel subcontracting challan or 57F4?

    Dear All,
    My scenerrio is like we create subcontracting PO and Issue the all component with movement type 541 and reference of subcontract order. then create subcontract challan or 57F4 challan. then user want to cancel the challan or reverse the challan with material document reverse. Component are reverse with Movement type 542 but Challan is not reversed. I use T code Reverse/complete Tcode but message is displayed doucment is completed.
    Pls guide me how to cancel the challan before migo.

  • Problem while reconciling subcontracting challan

    hi friends,
    issue:  while reconciling a challan im getting a msg saying that some qty of the material is not assigned fully.
    but actually all the material was received.the only thing is in GR the mateerial was received in 2 batches so 2 line items. but while posting the GR itself i got a msg that po qty is deficit by the quantity i specified in the 2nd line item.but it was just warning . after posting the GR qty updation was for the whole 2 line items qty.
    but what i understand is system takes the the 1st lineitem qty in GR, while reconciling the challan and says that the 2nd lineitem qty is still to be assigned.
    any ideas to solve this pls

    hi, Raja just try reading this and do accordingly i think there should not be an error .
    Once a subcontractor has processed your materials and returned them to you, you match the items in the challan against those that have been returned.
    You have posted the goods receipt (or any other material document) for the returned goods.
    1.From the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Indirect Taxes -.>Procurement -> Subcontracting -> Subcontracting Challans -> Reconcile Quantity.
    2.Enter the following data:
    a)In the Material Doc. and Mat. Doc. Year fields, enter the number of the goods receipt document and the year in which it was created.
    b)In the table below, enter the challan numbers and the years in which they were created.
    If the material document is a goods receipt document with movement type 101, you can enter the challans that were not captured when the goods receipt was posted. However, if all the relevant challans were entered during goods receipt, they need not be entered here
    3.Choose   Reconcile.
    A new screen appears. At the top is the information about the goods receipt (or other document); at the bottom is the information from the challans that you have entered.
    4.Specify which challans the materials in the goods receipt originated from:
    a)If you have sent a subcontractor a number of different challans, all containing the same material, you can automatically specify that the materials should come from the oldest challans first, by choosing  .
    b)Otherwise, for each challan, enter manually the quantity of materials has been returned, and choose  to refresh the display.
    5.Once you have accounted for all the materials in the goods receipt, save the challan.
    Result
    The system changes the challans' status as follows:
    1.)If you have accounted for all of the materials in a challan, the system sets its status to Fully Reconciled. In this case, you can complete the challan.
    2.)If you have accounted for only some of the materials, it sets the status to Assigned. In this case, you must assign the remaining quantity of materials to another goods receipt later on.
    3.)Scrap generated is assigned to a challan only if the percentage component scrap is specified in the bill of material for the parent material and this bill of material is assigned to the subcontracting purchase order.

    As per excise registration, here two Subcontracting series groups are maintained. Number range maintained for the object - J_1i57FC for two series group is same.
    The number range is - 0000020001 to 0000029999.
    While day to day processing of subcontracting challan, challans are created with same number for two different series group. For example challan number 20001 is posted, Fully Reconcilled and completed for series group - 44.
    But again the challan number 20001 is created for series group 64 as per number range assigned to series group 64.
    When i am trying to refer the challan 20001 for different company and series group in Goods receipt, it issuing the message - Challan quantity has been fully reconcilled.
    If i will check status of subcontracting challan 20001 for series group 64, it shows status posted only.
    Please guide me, whether we cant assign the same number range for two different series groups or there is any mistake in Challan processing or any note is available on the issue.
