Issue with installation of a printer hp office jet 4620.

I was installing a hp officejet 4620 printer and messed with the printer drives, and now it don't work properly, i need to restore my drives for this printer in macintosh HD/Library/Printers/PPDS/Contents/Resources ? maybe? I really don't what to do.

In System Preferences>Fax & Print, Right click or Control+click on the Printers list Sidebar, choose Reset Printing System.
if you hold option and click the "-" tab it resets the printing system.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions.
Any devices that previously appeared in your Printer List and Fax List will need to be added again after resetting the printing system.

I have an issue with some PDF documents & some MS Office documents, notably MS Word when received in eMail as attachments not displaying properly on iPhones, iPad 2s & new iPads?
PDF docs - areas of the doc only show as grey splotches regardles of viewer
MS Word Docs -
inserted graphics don't display at all,
tables & lists especially with borders are broken &
tables & lists missing the borders &
tables & lists missing the 1st 1-2 lines of the lists/tables.
This is replicated on iPhone 4s, iPhone 4Ss, iPad 2s, iPad new (x2)
It certainly happens in iOS 5.1.1 & iOS 5.1
We believe it all worked aok in iOS 5.0.1(?) & prior
There is no problems reading/seeing these PDF & Word docs on anything other than iDevices.
This is rather critical for us & if not quickly fixed/rectified will prevent us from further purchases of these devices
Rolling back to iOS 5.0.1 or prior I believe isn't possible because of the BaseBand update(?) & isn't much of an option because of the quite noticeable Battery/Charging/WiFi improvements in 5.1 & 5.1.1

I logged a call with AppleCare & have since had explained why this occurs (some time ago)
I'll try to explain what was indicated to me.
iOS has a limited Font Set & this affects what PDFs can display. You need to use iOS supported fonts in your PDFs to see/read them properly

Regards MS office docs, iOS doesn't have much of an API to work with MS Office documents at all so is stuck with 3rd Party Apps to try to do it.
Unfortunately Mail in/on iOS uses the API to attempt to open/use MS Office attachments unless you tell it to use an App to open the attachment.
I have had success opening & reading MS office docs now with CloudOn, but find it slow & very awkward to use.
Not too sure if this helps others, but at least it explains why this is occurring

Office jet 4620 on network, will not print

I have an Office Jet 4620 on my wireless network at home.
It has worked well until I installed a new router. The network sees the printer, I have entered my network password into the printer software.
When I try to print the printer makes a little noise then locks up. The only way to get the printer to turn off is to pull the power cord.
Any ideas?

Please follow this entire HP document on Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. Also, I would recommend following this HP document on Sleep Mode Issues. Your printer could be going into a sleep mode, this is why you're experiencing this kind of issue.

Office jet 4620 power cuts off

Hello Folks.....Please help!!
I have an Office Jet 4620. I have tried numerous times today to get the power to stay on. The power button on the printer does not work and I've had to switch it on/off at the wall switch to power up again. The printer will start up, briefly show the menu screeen, the blue wireless button lights up and then it immediately shuts down by it self! Same result in any socket in the house.
I have quite a few docs to scan and print today, does anybody know what is causing this? Am I looking at a repair (it's out of warranty by 3 months) or do I need a new printer? :-(
Any advice greatly received.

Hello,
It's not advisable to direct switch on/off from the power souce. Dirty or hard power cycling may hurt your power or eletrical devices.
In your case, there's chance for your internal power adapter is having problem.

Wireless printing issue. Lonovo Think Pad v. Office jet pro 8600

I went through all 7 of the trouble shooting steps but still can't get my wireless printing to work with my Lonovo laptop T430 and my HP office jet Pro 8600 ..last resort was to join the forum so here I am. all connections appear to be on line and as they should be until I try to print a document. The print window tells me printer is offline but the printer network test tells me it passed all tests and is connected and ready. Using windows 7 operating system.

llbbsis, if everything passes my initial concern is that you might not be connected to the same network on your printer as your computer is connected to. So the first thing i would check is being sure that the SSID on both is the same and not something like "NetworkName" and "NetworkName -Guest."
Next, have you used the Print and Scan Doctor from HP? It is a good tool to diagnose and treat some of the smaller issues with printing:

Paper Type issue with Adobe Standard X printing from browser

I work in IT and have two users who suddenly started having a problem printing PDFs from a browser (IE9). We cannot upgrade the borwser to 10 or 11 because it becomes incompatible with a few of our in house websites. I uninstalled standard and installed Adobe Reader XI and did not experience the same problem, but they are in need of Standard X in order to do their job.
What happens is when the PDF opens in the browser and they go to printer, the default for paper type is High Gloss paper instead of plain or unspecified. This doesn't happen if we open a pdf from the desktop and print and the default for the driver is plain. Yes, we could save the document and then print it, but they feel that takes more time and I have to find out why this is happening. Any help would be very appreciated.

Probable issue with the Firefox is that in the documentation it is poorly worded poorly, JIDS only support FF 17.
What is the issue with IE if that does fix the FF issue?

HT5243 Issue with Java operation on printer operation using Shipping software.

We are running a shipping system from APC couriers using the online booking system, there system runs using Java for the printing but it will not print normally due to a Java issue so has to be printed from another screen, our system has the latest version of Java any suggestions

4 x 146.8Gb local disks RAID 5 mirrored using the hardware raid controller HP Smart Array 5i+.
2 Emulex LP10000 HBA cards dual path connected to EMC Symmetrix and IBM DS4800 SAN Storage. There's your problem right there.
In almost every situation I've encountered as a DBA, RAID5 is slow. Slower than single disk. If you have 4 drives, you're better off doing a RAID10 so that your hardware doesn't have to compute the parity bit. You'll lose 145GB, but you're MUCH better off in terms of performance. RAID5 was meant for file servers and low-load webservers, not high-end databases.
The only time I've ever seen RAID5 perform acceptably was when we had redo, rollback and the default tablespaces on a different set of disks, and the main data tablespaces on a RAID5. There were very few updates/inserts to the main tablespaces and mostly reads. That's the only time you can use RAID5. But I'd still suggest doing RAID10 and just putting everything on it.
In general, I also have NOT seen good performance with a SAN. The only time you should use a SAN is when you can't get the capacity you need onto a SCSI channel (or, again, you don't need it to be fast). Otherwise go internal disks on a RAID10 and forget about the SAN. SANs have the disadvantage of having to be shared with a large number of hosts to be cost-effective and shared IO isn't something you want on a high-end database.

Vertically installed super slim DVD drives are not as reliable as a plain desktop burner. I've had one fail in two of three iMacs and have always had an external which I use most of the time. Other than that, the brand new iMacs do not have a Super Drive, so if that is what you are inquiring about, the point is moot. You need to buy an external anyway. As far as speed, I have never used a burner at high speed - unless you have a professional model, you can easily get burn errors when burning at a fast speed; sometimes consumer models do well burning with high speeds , other times not.

Font Issue with Report Generation Toolkit for Microsoft Office

I have been using this toolkit for only a few days now, but I just have to get this issue off my back. When developing a toolkit it would be a good idea to use the same cluster to represent fonts in ALL places. If you look at "Excel Set Graph Font" vs. "Excel Easy Table" they take two completely different clusters. Why? I don't know, but it is *very* annoying.
How could something like this slip through the cracks? Is there some reason why there is this discrepancy? From my perspective as a software engineer I see no excuse, but maybe someone else can justify this oversight for me. I just hope that I don't find any more issues with the toolkit...

what you said is true when dealing with same kind of objects, but in this circumstance, different cluster defines the font of a differnt object. For example, you may not want the user have as many options with defining the font for the X Y axis title as that for defining the text in the table. This is ture when you want your generated report to have similiar styles.
But this is certainly something we will think about, thanks for your constructive suggestion,

Hi All,
I was trying to install Oracle 10g over my laptop which has Vista Home Basic Edition.
After the installation got completed, i got a prompt for Configuration of Net Services without which i was unable to connect to any of the database through the
sql prompt.
Can you just guide me through the steps for configuring the Net services so that i am able to login through sql prompt and connect to a database.
When ever i try loggin in, i am getting back an error as " No TNS listeners could be found."
Please guide me through the steps so that i am able to connect to the database.

Did you created the database with installation? If not then first try to create database with database configuration assistant.

Unable to print hp office jet 8500A plus to i mac

Cannot get printer to print wirelessly from imac. Printer is HP officejet 8500A plus and o/s is Mavericks (10.9.3). Everything looks normal on imac but printer does not print when commanded.
