IView to show Portal Role User Assignments

Is there a Standard iView which can show what users are assigned to a portal role?
Thanks.

You can use delegated user administration to control the access
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/ConfiguringDelegatedUser+Administration
If you want only read-only access
1. Copy the standard User Admin role from Portal Content - Content Provided by SAP - Admin Content - User Administrators
2. Paste it in one your own custom folders
3. Adjust the name and ID and remove unwanted areas in the custom role (like Import and Activity Reports)
4. Go To User Administration and search and select the newly created role.
5. Select the Assigned Actions Tab and remove all the actions and just add the UME action - Read_All
6. Save your role and assign it to a test user (without the user admin standard role) to verify.

  • Pass parameter to all iViews in a portal role

    Hi,
we have a portal role containing several iViews for ABAP Web Dynpro applications. Now we want to assign the parameter sap-wd-lightspeed=X to all these applications. Is it possible to do this in the portal application and can the customer set it off if they want to?
One idea is to define a dummy iView with this parameter set in property Application Parameters, and define all iViews as delta-links of this dummy iView. But we have some iViews which need their one Application Parameters.
    Thanks & regards,
    Carlo

    Hi Bies,
I hope you are calling the Webdynpro ABAP applications using AppIntegrator iview (com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.WebDynpro).
    Application Name : ABAP application
    Application Parameters:sap-wd-lightspeed=X

  • Portal role user removal

    Hello,
Is there a quick way of removing all users that are assigned directly to to a portal role (not in a group) other than by removing them one by one ? If not, is there a way to disable them without removing them from the role.
        Regards,
           Phil.

user admin > identity management > search the role > click on assigned users tab > search all the users by using * > click on modify > now click on select all button > click on remove.
I think this is the way we can remove all the users can be deleted at a time assigned to a particular role

  • Show in a Iview all documents of an user of the whole portal

    Hello everybody,
I want to show in an Iview all documents of an user of the whole portal, not only the documents under his folder /userhome/Personal Documents
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Guillermo.

... and of course I have to add that this can be done with very few programming (but with that - with much more possibilities) by using a redirect "proxy iView", which is described in detail (and is taking just this scenario as one use case among others) on the slides of my TechEd presentation "Implementing Dynamic iView Properties", at least available for TechEd visitors now.
On the other hand, searching for "proxy iView" on SDN will return different results where at least I have described the basic idea.
    Hope it helps, too,

  • Portal Roles added to the LDAP group is not showing up for users

    Hello expert,
I have implemented SSO for Enterprise Portal and MS LDAP.  It is working fine but when I assigned roles to the LDAP group instead of UME group, they are not taking effect when I refresh the browser.  My service account that I set up in the keytab file is a read only account for the LDAP.  Is there some permission issue that I have to do to be able to add Portal roles or groups to LDAP groups?

    Hi,
By default the LDAP integration configuration file is readonly.
In this case, is not possible to modify data in LDAP.
You must to connect in read-write mode; and I think that, furthermore, you need to configure SSL between Portal and LDAP in order to use read-write mode.

  • How to change the portal role presentation based on users BW authorization?

    Hello,
I have created 3 BW Roles, each one contains an iView with a certain report.
For simplicity let's name the Roles A,B,C and assume that in order to see the proper report the user needs to be assigned to the matching group (A,B,C) at the BW side.
I have imported these 3 roles to the portal as worksets, created new pcd role, placed these 3 worksets inside the new role and assigned this role to a certain group of users in the portal (these users are ABAP users so they are the same at the BW side as well).
What I would like to do is this: I would like that each user that I have assigned this new role to will see only the worksets that he/she allowed to see based on it's BW authorization. Meaning, if I have been assigned roles A and B at the BW I will see only worksets A and B inside the role.
The problem is this: From the portal I cannot assign the users to the BW groups and from BW I cannot control pcd roles so this kind of change requires me to make two modifications: One for authorization from the BW and one for presentation from the portal. I would like to manage it just from one place, either from the BW or from the portal, I don't care.
    How can I achieve this?

I think I have found a solution: Export it as a role instead of a workset and do one to one assignments with the BW groups.

  • Role iView doesnt show up

    Hi!
I have a peculiar problem...I created an iView, a page for the iView and a workset for the page. Then I created a role, assigned the workset to the role and finally assigned the role to a user.
However when I log in as the user, I dont see the page/iView. In fact I see nothing at all. Giving the user "eu_role" brings up the normal "Home" workset but assigning him to my role shows absolutely nothing. I see the portal desktop and stuff (everything default). The only role I want to assign to him is my role but the page/iView doesnt show up.
    Any ideas?

    Balu,
Well this issue has been discussed many a times in forums. You would have to point your data source to ABAP system.
Check this thread in [here|J2EE Failed to start  , after changing UME datasource;.
    Good Luck!

  • Abap+java stack, users not mapping to portal role.

We have the ABAP+java add-on install.
The UME is by default ABAP engine.
    From Portal:
1 I create a portal user, it ALWAYS creates ABAP user in ABAP stack of WAS.
    2. I create a portal role, it creates a role in the Portal.
    3. When I assign the user this portal role,
    having worksets and pages,
I get no pages or worksets shown in the portal page as soon
    user logs in.
Can you help configure this so that I could see the pages and iviews inside this workset when user logs in.
    Thanks  a lot.
PS:  posted this in webdynpro-ABAP.  no reply came.  Sorry to double post.

    Hi Mike,
can you check into your WorkSet (or Pages) if you have setting up the <b>Entry Point</b> flag?
PS: Award points for good answers.

there are two radio buttons yes and no select the yes one,
you can see your pages afte rlogin with the new user.

  • Show Portal Sub-Role on Second Level Navigation

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement, to embed some of our portal roles within some master roles.
    Issue
I have a role called Parent_Role on the portal
Then I have two other child roles:
    Child1_Role
    Child2_Role
Now if I add Child1_Role and Child2_Role as sub roles to the Parent_Role, and then assign the Parent_Role to my User ID,  I see both Child1_Role and Child2_Role on the first level of Top Level Navigation. However, I don't see Parent_Role on TLN.
What I need to do is, have Child1_Role and Child2_Role show up on the second level of navigation, and have Parent_Role show up on the first level of navigation.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks!
    Max

    HI Max,
Ideally this is what happens what you have requested for , Can you check whether the entry point is yes for you Parent Role.
1.) Create a Parent Role and make entry point "yes".
    2) Assign the child roles to the Parent Role.
    3) Assign the Parent role to the User.
    This should work fine.
    Thanks

  • Newly Added Iview now showing in MSS role

    Hi Experts,
I have a strange issue which is bugging me since yesterday.
I have a customized MSS role in my portal where i have added one WebDynpro Java Iview to this role. I can see the iview in the MSS role when open the role as object. But ! when i see the same role by assigning to me, i couldn't see the newly added iview in the same role.
I have added the same iview in several places (worksets) but still couldn't see that iview in the role. I don't understand why it behaves all of the sudden.
Is it cache problem? if so, i have waited 10 hours and couldn't see the iview still. Should i do something else to show that newly added iview ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi JYOTHI,
As it is custom role , check with your Hr Team for dependency of portal display on backend .
Gneerally for standard business packages, home page framewokr configuration in backend provides navigation in portal. For your custom role , there might be siimilar configuration whcih hr consultants in your organization knows.

  • Transporting role with user assignments

    Hi Guru's,
When we transport a role with user assignments then in the target system, the role will wipe out all the existing assignment and show the the users in the original released request.
    eg. D->Q
    In dev:
    role-A has userA, userB
    In Qas;
    Role-A has UserA and userC
    ......after import of request:
the roleA will have userA and userB
What I have noticed is even if userB does not exist in Qas, the assignment will be reflected in AGR_USERS. A PFUD or user compare in a role does not remove the ghost entries. Is there any way to remove these inconsistencies ?
I saw note 534010, which is applicable for UST04.
    Thank you
    Abhishek

    Hi Matt,
Yes, I do agree this is not a best practice. However, for a particular requirement, we thought this was the best way to solve the problem. Infact, this was the first time I ever did this
We have a role that needs to ONLY be assigned to every person in a particular team. With more than 30 systems present( out of the production landscape, just the testing systems), we thought this would be the only fast way out than going in each system and assigning this role. This would also ensure unassignment of this role to any other person too
    Any other alternative?
    Thank you
    Abhishek
