Kp26 Vs Kp06

Hello all,
Just wondering is there any specific difference between transcation code kp26 & kp06 ? They use the same program though !!

Moderator: Please, avoid asking basic questions

HI,
Kp06 is for entering the planned cost for the cost center for the cost elements for a particular activity type and period.
Kp26 is to calculate the planned activity price by entering the planned activity quantity.
Eg: If the total cost for cost center Dept A is given as Rs.1000, this will be mentioned in Kp06.
In kp26 we give the planned time (hours)/ planned quantity (machine hours) taken to incurr the expenses in KP06. Eg;100 hours.
Hence the planned fixed price per hour would be total cost/total hours
I.,e ; 1000/100=Rs 10 is the fixed planned price arrived per hour.
Thus hourly rates can be calculated.
Thanks,
Shilpa.

  • KP26 Planned Actvity

    Dear All,
Can you let me know what is the use of Planned activity / Capacity in KP26  and also Price(fixed) and Variable, etc and how it influence while executing the transaction( Cost Extimation).
How the system makes the calculation. explain with an example.
Also let me know the difference between KP26 & KP06 , I am bit confussed between KP26 and KP06.
    Regards,

    Dear Ranjan,
    Thanks for the reply.
Can you let me know the below mentioned points.
I have a Cost Center : Labour Cost  and Activity as Labour.
I have asigned the cost center and Activity in KP26 with a plan price indicator 1
In Plan activity column i have given 15000 and in variable price column i have given 2500 for 100 units.
When i am executing kspi, the system is displaying Activity Qnty :80000 Total price :2425 and variable price 2425 for 100 units for the current period(also to all previous periods).
Now what is this 80000 units, from where it has updated and why the price is changed to 2425 from 2500(given in KP26).
Also let me know how can i find the cost element for KP06 from KP26 details.
When i am providing the the above combination along with the cost element (which is in KP26) to KP06 system is prompting an error as "Cost element xxxxxxxx can only be used for activity input".
    Kindly suggest.

  • Difference type of activity

    Dear Sir/Madam,
What is the difference between Kp26 And Kp06 And kb21n
Tell me if i'm wrong !!
KP06 is for cost center(production / Non prdn) cost element planning
KP26 is for production cost center with activity planning
KB21N  is for which rate / ratio  from one cost center to other cost center  rate is given / moving.
    Regards,
    Sahoo

    Hi Sahoo,
You are right KP06 is used to do planning for Cost center and KP26 is used to planning of activity for cost center.

    Hi,
KP26 - is being used to maintain the labour hour / activitiy rate in combination with work center and cost center yearly as per the decision of the management. and it is distributed according to the distributtion key maintained(0, 1, 2, 3 etc)
KP06 - is being used for planning the activity on cost element and the same is also a combination of activity type, cost center and cost element.
In both the cases the distribution key is used and if distribution key 1 is used the system will divide the cost according to the the period which you have maintained on the selection screen.

  • Machine Hours

    Hi Guruu2019s,
Currently in one of our plants in Czech Rep we are costing material in local currency (CZK) but the activity types/ machine costs are set up in USD.
So when GR for finished goods are produced, the absorption is using the machine hour costs in USD and the conversion / exchange rate used is kinda weird.
We are now trying to set up the MACHC in SAP in CZK (because all the budget calculation leading to MACHC for the year are also done in CZK). This will be more transparent for any analysis and for absorption too and would avoid any eventual discrepancies coming from any exchange rates.
We use the transaction KP26 to input the total capacities for the production lines in hours and to put MACHRC per hour for every production line.
In KP26 if you go to settings - set planner profile. We are currently using planner profile SAPALL. I noticed a couple of profiles were set for local currency. So I tried to use both of the layouts.
I first changed in KP26 the machine hour costs for Cost Center XXXX from 1315,35 USD to 100000 CZK.
As example I can used a product YYYYYYY, which is a pebble product produced on Cost Center XXXX.  The Machrc calculated in the Std price for this product before I made the change were 458,64 CZK / 100 Eas.
After this change took place the cost for Activity type in KP26 this increased the Machc calculated in the Std price for this product  to 573,34 CZK / 100 EAs.
I thought that the calculation should be: (Machrcosts for 1 hour for the CC) * (routing for 100 EAs) = (Machcosts for 100 EAs)
Before I changed the layout example :
    1315,35 USD  * 1,058 MIN = 458,64 CZK/100 EAs
(don`t know which exchange rate is taken from here u2013 because when I take 23530,48 CZK displayed in KP27 as converted value for 1315,35USD the result should be 414,92 CZK/100 EAs)
After the change I am getting:
    100000 CZK * 1,058 MIN = 1763,33 CZK/100 EAs
But if i gt to that material YYYYYY and look at the cost tab the calculation is 573,34 CZK/100 EAs.
Do you have any idea, what could be the issue? Maybe some additional changes must be done in KP26 and KP27 after changing the layout not just the overwriting of the value Machrcosts?
Thank you in advance for your time and help.
    Best regards

    Hi Thess,
Just to make a point, I suggest you to do planning KP26 and KP06 and run KSPI to get the activity prices. If you do this, it not only serves your purpose of maintaing activity prices, but also, helps you in getting the variance reports and cost center level.
Now, if the activity prices of depreciation and other overheads need to get multiplied by the no. of machine hours, (obviously there must have been one activity "machine hours" to capture the production cost), you can create seperate operations (dummy operations with dummy work centers and dummy activities assigned to them) for these overheads. (even you can use all the activity types in the same work center in the same operation).
Once the user confirms the activity "machine hrs" (with 5 hrs for example) for operation in CO11N, the same number of hours can be defaulted for other operations also...(like depreciation etc in your case).
Pls talk to your PP Consultant to do this.

  • Kp06 - kp26

    hi gurus,
i had a confusion in this area.  please let me know the difference.  as per as my knowledge in KP06 u have to give ur COST ELEMENT and COST CENTER,  in KP26 we have to give ATY TYPE and COST CENTER.
in above senario, we have to do planning of SALARY (COST ELEMENT) for DEPTH (COST CENTER)  in KP06.
here we have to do planning for COST ELEMENT or COST CENTER?
in the second senario, whe have to do planning of ACTIVITY TYPE(HOURS) and DEPTH(COST CENTER) in KP26.
means here planning for activity or cost center.
and if we done KP06 and KP26, then what is the uses of KSPI
    thanqu
    raj

    Hi,
When you do your planning in CO, it's done on two levels(dimensions). If you plan, for example, salaries for certain department, you do it for cost element 'Salary' with the combination of cost centre, let's say, 'R&D'. Cost centres are representing organization units, while cost elements are nature of costs. The same attitude stands for activity type. So, your planning is done to the combination of both.

  • KP06 & KP26 - Proceedure

    hai,
In KP06 we are planning input based on primary cost element. Sametime in KP26 we are planning the capacity based on secondary cost element. After assigning the same in project, the system displays the detail based on the secondary cost element not on the primary cost element. why it is not showing the primary cost element breakup in Project system?
After the planning through KP06 & KP26, i am executing the KSPI, this takes some calculation internally for price per unit. What base sstem is calculating the Price per unit?
Can any one have a explanation on this.
    govind.

    Dear Govind,
The activity rate will be calculated only based on your secondary element. While creating an Activity type you will be assigning a secondary cost element in the master data, which will capture the cost during confirmation of order. Hence the planning cost by logic will also captured from the secondary cost elements only.
Reward points if it helped you
    Thanks

  • Difference between KP06 and KP26

    Hi,
Could anyone explain me when to use KP06 and when to use KP26 and the basic technical difference between these two transaction codes.
    Regards,
    DSK

    Hi,
KP06 is used to plan the primary costs (cost elements). You can do it activity dependent or independent. KP26 is used to enter prices to activity types which will then cause cost allocation via secondary cost elements while psoting figures on those activity types.

  • Activity Price thru KP26 & KP06

I want a clarification regarding activity price calculation:
    - I know that we can manually enter the activity quantity and variable/fixed rates in kP26.  If that is the case, what is the purpose of quantity that is entered in KP26 ?
    - Other way, we can plan the cost element in the cost centre and later on maintain the quantity in KP26 and do the KSPI (plan run) and the system will calculate the prices.  In this case, I hope, system will be calculating the fixed price only.  What about the variable price then ?

    hi nikitha..
I am really confused to see the various comments on this issue. Basic requirement is to calculate fixed & variablr price after KSPI run
If you follow the steps below your purpose will serve:
KP06      1-101     Cost Centre Planning - element planning (Fixed value & Variable Value)
1-102     Activity Distribution to findout Fixed/Variable Price
if both are required paln Variable quanty
              otherwise Fixed qty
KP26      1-201     Activity Planning (Activity qty)
You have to use both the layout in KP06 & remember the total activity qty you have planned in KP26 that should match you activity distribution in KP06 (1-102 layout)
    thanks

  • I want to set EXIT for KP06, KP26, KP46

    Hi Experts.
    I'm in trouble.
I have to set EXIT that can control "CostCenter" or "CostCenter Group" in KP06, KP26, KP46.
    For Example in KP06,
if a user inputs cost-center value "100000" in cost center field,
then error message(error) display below screen (Ex> "It's not correct !!).
I tried again with Enhancement "COOMKPT4", "COOMKPLV".
    But It's not working.
    (I think it's not suitable for KP06, KP26, KP46. Is it right?)
And I tried with FIELD-EXIT, but the result is same.
(and I tried with GGB0, and the devil knows what, the result is same..)
    I'm in trouble.
    Please help me.
I must set EXIT (or any ways) for KP06, KP26, KP46.
(Properly speaking, for costcenter for above T-codes)
I want your detailed explanations to solve this trouble
    Thank you and best regards.
    Mr.Kim.

    Hi,
    i have the same problem,
    have you solved this problem?

  • Variable costs - KP06, KP26

    Hi,
We have an interesting situation here - it seems as if when the user runs the KSPI transaction, it adjusts the total variable costs on the KP06 screen, and not the price on the KP26 screen, when the volumes are changed.
Now I can see the advantage for being able to do things this way, but do not know where to do this.
Have anybody seen the system behave like this?

What happens, is that the adjustment to the total variable cost happens at the time of KPSI, not KSPI. So if a price has already been created, and changes in the volumes take place, then KPSI will adjust the total variable overheads, to reflect the new volumes.
However, I have found instances during testing, where the total variable costs change, even though there has been no change in the activity hours. One reason that suggest itself, is that because of change in the capacity resource utilisation, the activity takes place in a different month than previously, even though the total activity for the year is unchanged.
But we ar emaking use of average prices for activity price calculations, so this should not be causing the problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Piet

  • KP06/KP26 Plan Upload

We have around 40 cost centres for which plan figures need to be uploaded.  Is there any way where we can upload the cost element planning for all these cost centres at a stretch (i.e. rather than uploading the figures for the cost centres one by one for all the cost elements..).

Use the standard SAP feature for doing this,
Create a layout in transaction KP34, you can copy from an existing layout like SAP all, ensure to put the integrated excel check on, and while you see the layout the system will generate the file description for it, you can download the excel layout as your upload template, that is across all the cost centers.
Make a note of the file description and keep the upload file that you have downloaded handy, in kp06 from the menu use
    Extras-->excel Planning --> Upload
Select the file description tha toyu have made a note of, and upload the file with the filled data,
You should be able to upload it easily.
Please let me know if you neeed more clarity
    Thanks

  • Kp06 kpf6 kp26 layout

    Hi All,
I notice all the above when i use the same planner profile and same layout, they are displaying the same on initial screen.
So may I know why need to have so many tcode as they may create confusion so many planning tcode.
    Any advice?
    Thanks

    Hi,
These are the various screen layouts when you are planning on Cost center, intern orders and activities.
If you have noticed, each of these screen layouts have different columns data compared to the others.

  • KP26 & KP06 - version copying

    Dear All,
My client is asking one advice , it is as follows,
Can we copy the one version to a new version ( Eg V0 to Z1) with the exsisting labour rates & hours of version 0
I feel version will copy only the layout and not the values.... values are to be updated as per the updated run.
Please let me know the other opinions also ...
    I am new to controlling
    Thanks in advance'
    Arun R

    Hi Arun,
You can use transaction KP97 to do the copying. It copies the entire plan values including Activity prices , Hours , Statistical Key figures etc., On the initial screen of KP97 the details like the source plan data types are not visible. You will have to press the button "Selection" under the Plan data section. In that selection , you can select which all data you want to transfer from One version to the Other version.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

  • Activity prices in KP26 used for actual and plan in version 0

We plan activity prices via KP26 in version 0. We then plan activity consumption via KP06, and run the plan reconciliation via KPSI.
During the year, we need to update the activity prices used in actual activity allocation. This price also comes from version 0.
When we change the activity price, the planned amounts change also. We are looking for a way to maintain a separate price for actual activity allocation.

    Ajay,
Your answer definitely sent me down the right path...thank you!
For other's benefit, these are the steps I took to make this work:
    1) set the "Purely Iter. Price" indicator in plan version 0
    2) import planning layout 1-N01 from client 000 (OBKF)
    3) add planning area "Cctr: Manual actual prices" to planning layout SAPALL (KP34)
    4) add planning layout 1-N01 to planner profile SAPALL (KP34)
    5) create and run custom program from note 551309 to add cost element field to the input screen in KBK6 (SE38)
    6) transport planning layout for planning area "Cctr: Manual actual prices" (OKEX)
Now we can plan a price in KP26, and maintain a different price in KBK6 which is used in the actual activity allocation.
    Thanks again,
    Linda
