Lenovo G580 - Beep Code (Problem)

Hello.
I have problem with my laptop Lenovo G580.
I buy this laptop 3 months ago without systems. I have system Win 7 32-bit and 64-bit.
Now i ahve problems with laptops and warranty service.
Laptop turns on normally sometimes and sometimes not. ( If problems shows, i cut the power off, remove battery wait for few sec, and turn on, sometimes i must do it 3 times)
It often happens that the computer will not boot just beeps.

I thought that it is the fault of the firmware so I reinstalled Windows from 64-bit to 32-bit. It did not work. Flashing window appeared even when installing on a clean drive( second link, window blink on the beginning video), so I think it is rather not the fault of the firmware just the laptop PC hardware.
I sent the laptop with cinematics to warranty service and wrote back to me that "after many hour tests, there was no problem" reset bios, swapped RAM and sent him back to me.
Already two times I sent the laptop to them. Can you advise me what the problem is? What i can do to solve problem? Sorry for language mistakes. If need more information ples write in this topic.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
From the first video, it looks like there's a problem with the Windows Loader or a system file that's needed to load but fails. Since you already re-installed Windows, this is most likely not an OS issue.
- Windows 7 Boot Process
From the second video, the flickering can be with the display (LCD) or wit hthe GPU / GPU driver. It's a bit early to tell without running some tests.
If you manage to boot Windows, can you try the following:
1. Install Lenovo Solutions Center and run a full hardware scan on the PC.
2.. Alternatively, you can also manually install the following and run a quick test on the unit.
- Lenovo Video Quick Test
- Lenovo Motherboard Bus Quick Test
- Lenovo Memory Test
- Lenovo Storage Quick Test

Lenovo C30 beep code

lenovo C30 motherboard send beep code
2 long - 3 short - 2 short

Need more details on your configuration, including whether BIOS is set up in legacy mode or UEFI mode and what cards you have installed in the system. From the info you gave, my guess is the following:
- you're running in UEFI mode
- the system is not able to load a compatible OPROM, likely video (this would be the 2 long + 3 short sequence)
- the system is then logging some sort of POST error (this would be the 2 short sequence at the end)
If this is right, you can try flipping BIOS to legacy mode to see if you can get it to POST correctly.

Kt4v beep code problem, not listed.

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my MSI Via kt4v motherboard. A friend recently dropped one of the speakers from the table onto the case >:( (not a large drop but it killed it) and now whenever I turn it on all i get is three long beeps, then a 5 second break and it goes again. I can't seem to find the beep code anywhere. The screen doesn't come up with anything now so i can't even tell what bios its running, but I think it was award. I'm guessing its the ram or vid card but any help would be appreciated.

Have you opened up the system to check if anything was knocked loose? Remove and reinstall the memory and vid card for starters.

Lenovo G580 Performance problem

Hi everyone,i think i have performance problems with my Lenovo IdeaPad G580 Dark Metal
-Intel Core i7 3632QM Ivy Bridge
-RAM 4GB
-NVIDIA GeForce GT635M 2GB
-Windows 8
And fps in Far Cry 3 is only about 30 on low settings
Need for speed The Run is about 35 on medium settings
So, it is normal or i really have performance probs ?

Lenovo H330 Beep Code: 1 long 3 short and blank screen

I have an issue with startup, every now and again my startup initiates what sounds like 2 long beeps followed by 3 short ones - 'beep-beep' + 'beep+beep+beep' - but from what I've seen, throughout online discussion, it is only 1 long beep followed by 3 short ones. After this tune is played my screen remains blank, and on another attempt of start up the PC runs fine. Any ideas?

Since the computer's behavior changed after re-seating the memory I would double check the memory slots. Remove the memory and shine a flashlight into the slot to see that there is no debris in the slot and that the contacts look fairly shiny. Also look at your memory module contacts. You can lightly rub these contacts with a pencil eraser to insure they are clean. Just be sure there is no eraser residue left on them before re-inserting them into the computer and avoid touching the contacts with your fingers.
If the above doesn't offer any help then try booting the computer with just one memory module installed. I assume you have two in there. Then see how it boots. If it boots Ok then swap the module for the other one. If both of them boot Ok by themselves then move the memory module over to the other slot and try booting up the computer.

Lenovo G580 BIOS update problem - Error 255

Hi!
I read a lot of these problems, but there were no solutions, not even a feedback from Lenovo...
So I have the same problem.
- I download this update: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/62cn40ww_64.exe
- I try to run it as Administrator and I got the error message: Error 255 - TDK library initialization failed
What could be the solution? I tried the advices from other forum posts, but I still have the problem. I have Win7 x64. My laptop is G580 (20150 model).

Lenovo g580 Wifi new problem broadcom bcm943142hm

So week like week ago my wifi problem started the signal strat to be very low (0) or full but for like a second.
I have tried change plugs(black goes first then white?) /new drivers/change to simple broadcom to network adapter I even tried to unplug a whole card and replug it. I also tried things like Broadcom 802.11 Multiband Network Adapter but still no luck. I forgot to mention that it connects with phones with no problems and other devices connect with router without any problem so as my Lenovo not so long ago

If I understand correcly - you are getting low WiFi signal strength from your wireless adapter. Have you attempted connections with other WiFi hot spots or access points to eleminate issues with your own wireless equipment?
If you have a local wireless hotspot (internet cafe) that you can try, do so. If your wireless remains with very low (one or two bars) at all WiFi spots you try, then it would sound like your WiFi card is begining to fail. If you decide to replace the WiFi card, make sure you use one that is Lenovo branded or it will not work.

Lenovo G580 Video Card problem

I have bought new Lenovo 580G .I install Windows 7 64bit, but when I`m istalling Intel video drivers and restart system after loading and shows desktop system restart. Sometimes will load system, after that I `m istalling Gforce GT630 drivers, after restart it is the same. I tried with drivers from CD , and drivers from support lenovo. I tried with Windows 7 Ultimate, x64, and Home Premium x64 . I can`t find driver for Windows XP .

Sorry to hear about the issues your facing. Hope i can assist. Base from you post you may need to go to the BIOS and Check if the Graphics has been set correctly. The Bios is able to set the machine to using the HD GPU or the NVDIA GPU or both simultaneously.
Also please try the latest drivers available on Support site, Please give them a try

Startup Repair Offline: Unable to fix problem and beep codes

Hi,
I have an issue with my PC startup and boot,
My PC Model: Lenovo H330, Windows 7, i5 Intel processor.
Basically on the first attempt at booting, my pc plays a beep code which sounds like = 'beep-beep' + 'beep-beep-beep' followed by a blank screen, on a second attempt the pc boots fine.
I believe this is 1 long and 3 short, the code does not seem to be in the Lenovo Bios support guide to beep codes, not only this but when I attempt Startup Repair in order to fix the problem it states it has
failed to fix the problem, details below:
Problem Event Name: Startup repair offline

PS2: 6.1.7600.16385
PS3: unknown
PS4: 268
PS5: Autofailure
PS6: 1
PS7 No Root Cause
Local ID: 1033
Further Information:
- Information on the failure to repair states error code 0x490
- Before the issue started, AVG Free Antivirus 2015 lost active components and I was unable to update or turn components back on; at the same time it proved to be very difficult to uninstall.

I agree with ZigZag ,you may need to resolve the beeps code first .The machine may suffer a hardware issue .

First of all ,follow Parvesh_s`s answer ,check the BIOS settings .We may need to reset the BIOS settings to have a check.
If the issue persists ,take the KrisM771`s method to repair with an installation media.
If the auto repair will not work ,take the alebcay`s suggestion .Repair it with the command .

USB3 problem in Lenovo G580 (2689)

Hello.
I have Lenovo G580. It has one USB2 port and two USB3 ports. I connect internet using mobile with USB cable. The connection works quite well in USB2 port and in one USB3 port. But when i try to connect through the other USB3 port, windows doesnt recognize the device. I have installed the driver for the same. here i attach an image of the error message. Please help me solve the problem.

Lenovo g580 2189 driver install problem

I have a lenovo g580 with windows 8
when i try to install drivers i get some errors,any driver with other error:
smart audio hd with dolby- failure with non reason'
tuchpad ealn....-"ask for dspint package"
i download all the drivers from lenovo official web and i have energy mangement for windows 8
one more problem is in "fn" function,i dont see any fn function in the screen (no wifi,bluetooth,tuchpad,camera....)
only music. when i touch fn+f5 to turn off/on wifi the system shows on "airplane mode".

finally did it!!!! i had the same problem and now it works!
you first install the driver, and will tell no driver found ..., then go in C:\drivers\Bluetooth Driver (CyberTan, Liteon)\Broadcom\Win64 and execute Inst.exe and let it install all what it needs, don't press anything. if it still not works try install the same exe after activating bt with fn+f5.
win64 is for the one who have 64bit and I think that win32 will work for the one who have 32bit.
le: I have win7, i think it works the same for win8.. try it..
le2: and something else, I disabled UEFI from bios. I don't know if this is important, but it works for me with UEFI disabled.

LENOVO G580 2189 PROBLEM WIRELESS ON WIN 7 64BIT

Hello!
I bought lenovo g580 with preinstaled windows8
I changed them with windows 7 ultimate 64bit
After finding that my laptop is 2189 (because lenovo wants us to find out with the hard way instead making clear which one is 2189 and which one 2689 and ofcourse have separate drivers for the two versions and make our lives easy)
i installed all drivers and the wifi isn't working
i see by fn+f5 that wifi is on but nothing at all
if i unplug lan cable nothing...
i tried all the drivers available in section
still nothing
wifi seems on and activated but actually network controller never been installed with those drivers!!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Lenovo G580 - WIndows 8 - Resizing OS partition & problems with system recovery

Hello Everybody,
Just bought a Lenovo G580 notebook with pre installed Windows 8 (500gb harddisk, 4 gb RAM, Intel B960).I have been using Easeus partition manager with Windows 7 & its been working very well.So I wanted to partition my new HDD with it.Upon creating the a new 100gb partition (most importantly from OS partition that was about 428 gb) a very strange thing happened.The Refresh/Reset functions of WIndows 8 stopped working saying required recovery files are missing, also Lenovo One Key recovery program does not work with the message that required service partition is currently unavailable.At the same time, apparently partition called Windows recovery (1000 mb, hidden) still exists.One more peculiar thing I noticed & that is there is a new 1mb unallocated partition before the Windows recovery partition.While partitioning I did not receive any message about deleting of any data.One last piece of information (not sure if relevant) is before doing partition I had created a system image that I am unable to restore, Windows 8 repair function recognises the image bit is unable to restore it.
Any ideas how to restore the System Recovery functions or how to restore the system image.

Was Bios v. 2.03 and Windows 8 x64 - cool worked!
After update to bios v. 9.01, i installed windows 8.1 x64 - and
In bios disappeared support UEFI for HDD and DVD - **bleep**?
My motherboard is defined as LENOVO INVALID (tested in AIDA64) - **bleep**?
Moreover, the laptop began to brake hard in games and programs.
Pls give me instructions for recovery and bios firmware v.2.03.
