Lenovo X1 Carbon 2015 - OneLink Dock Pro

Guten Tag, ich habe ein ThinkPad X1 Carbon von 2015. Hierfür habe ich mir eine OneLink Docking-Station gekauft. An der Docking-Station sind zwei TFT-Monitore angeschlossen. Ziehe ich die Docking-Station im laufenden Betrieb ab, werden die Desktop-Symbole so extrem klein angezeigt, dass man kaum noch was erkennen kann. Das liegt ja an den verschiedenen Auflösungen zwischen TFT und Notebook-Display. Hier hilft nur ein Neustart, da das Notebook buw- Windows die Auflösung skalieren kann. Für ein 2.000 Euro Premium-Notebook ist das absolut inakzeptabel, dass hier ein Neustart benötigt wird. Ich muss mehrfach am Tag den Arbeitsplatz wechseln und da ist das absolut nervig! Wie kann ich das Problem lösen, dass das Notebook die Auflösung automatisch anpasst beim Abziehen und Anstecken der Docking-Station? Vielen Dank! PS: Über den Lenovo-Support bin ich nicht weiter gekommen. Gruß

Versuch mal bitte mit der Tastenkombination: STRG + ALT + F12 das Intel Control Panel für die Grafikkarte zu öffnen.
Sofern du Windows 8 oder 8.1 nutzt, wechsle bitte zuvor in den Desktop-Modus.
Wurde das Control Panel geöffnet kannst du in den Bereich "Anzeige" wechseln. Dort solltest du links den Bildschirm auswählen können und in der Mitte die jeweiligen Einstellungen.
Wenn du nun das System mit der Docking-Station betreibst und abziehst, wäre erstmal interessant ob sich die Einstellung dort ändern für den integrierten Bildschirm (müsstest also vorher und nacher vergleichen).
Was mich noch interessieren würde:
Nutzt du beim Betrieb mit der Docking-Station auch das integrierte Display oder klappst du das Gerät dann zu?

Hi,
I ordered an S431 (which only has one HDMI port for display output). I currently use two monitors from my laptop, and was wondering if the OneLink dock would allow me to continue to do so. Would I be able to connect to one monitor using the HDMI output from the dock and another from the laptop, or will using the dock disable the HDMI output on the laptop?

That sort of defeats the purpose. That is why I stick with the "classic" Lenovo USB 3.0 dock. There at least you can connect two (DVI) monitors to the dock. The Onelink concept is ruined by having to connect a second monitor to your laptop. Ideally, the Onlink dock would have 2(!) HDMI connectors on the dock itself, as well as an option to swap the Onelink cable for a USB 3.0 cable. The "classic" Lenovo USB 3.0 dock has this and therefore can also be used on Macbooks,which allows me to alternate between my MacBook Air and my X1 Carbon

Carbon X1, OneLink and non-working USB ports

I have a Carbon X1 (2014) and the ThinkPad OneLink Dock (4X10A06077). I have Windows 7 Pro installed. Sometimes when the system returns from sleep the OneLink taskbar icon displays "Detached!". Even though the icon says Detached!, the display attached to the dock is working, but the USB ports do not function. I lose mouse and keyboard; unplugging/plugging does not work. USB ports on the Carbon X1 do work. I have not verified whether or not Ethernet also fails as I am using WIFI at this time. The USB ports on the dock continue to not work after restarting the laptop. Power cable needs to be unplugged from the dock before the USB ports work again. I have updated all drivers. The BIOS is up to date. I've disabled all power management on the USB ports in the Windows Device Manager. However, the problem persists. Thanks

OK, first, let us know more specifically which of five flavors of Power Mac G5 you have. Find the serial number on the build plate on the inner bottom panel just below the CPUs and use this site to get the exact configuration:

In the meantime, assuming that you haven't replaced the PRAM battery in quite a while or ever, that would be a good thing to do.
Getting dust out of the system is a must. The power supply is especially prone to dust buildup. You might want to deal with that by taking the machine outside, as it can get pretty thick coming out.

ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2nd+OneLinkPro Dock = No IP Address During Imaging (OSD) via SCCM 2012 R2

I'm trying to image a second generatoin X1 Carbon that also has a OneLinkPro dock attached via SCCM 2012 R2.
The USB stick is plugged into the dock, as is Ethernet & power.
When I boot into the preinstallation environment, I don't have an IP address.
The USB stick is fine - works on all 26 other devices here
The network cable is fine - I'm able to get an IP & image from other systems
I tried two OneLinkPro docks, same problem on both
If I use the Ethernet adapter, it works fine
I'm convinced its a driver issue at this point.
I was directed to www.lenovo.com/onelinkdrivers to locate OneLink dock drivers, and I've downloaded the package.
The downloaded EXE (tp_onelink_dock.exe) extracts to C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\Dock by default
In C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\Dock you have another EXE Setup_OneLink_Dock_Lenovo_v10826.exe
This immediately launches an installshield setup (run from %temp%)
There no options to extract the drivers - it just installs the drivers, and none of the switches I've thrown at it have yielded any results.
I found a data1.cab file but I can't seem to extract anything with 7Zip or expand
How are folks with second gen X1 Carbons who use SCCM for OSD successfully imaging those machines with the OneLinkPro dock? (without the use of the Ethernet adapter of course.)

Fauxlution:
Install drivers on an x86 machine
Navigate to C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Onelinkdock (or something like that)
Grab the driver directories & save them elsewhere
Repeat process for x64 machine because the installer will only install drivers for the architecture of the system its run on. (x86 system = x86 drivers; x64 system = x64 drivers)
Clean up the drivers (extra non-essential files in there)
Import both sets of drivers into SCCM
Bake architecture specific Realtek drivers into boot image
Couldn't be simpler.

Onelink Dock , eine Frage

Hallo Leute,
hat jemand von Euch ein Onelink Dock (nicht das Pro) in Verbindung mit einem S540?
Ich möchte mein S540 nicht aufklappen, einfach nur das geschlossene, ausgeschaltete Notebook an das Dock anschliessen und mit dem Powerknopf am Onelink Dock einschalten. Ich kriegs nicht hin? Ist das so nicht gedacht, bin ich zu dämlich, muss ich was updaten am Dock oder am S540?
Sollte das so nicht gehen, macht das Dock keinen Sinn für mich.
Ich hab das manual mehrmals durchgearbeitet, aber für mich liest sich das immer so, als ob genau diese Funktion das Highlight wäre.
Kann mir jemand einen Tip geben

ThnikPad S440 und OneLink Dock Email Problem

Hallo,
ich habe ein Problem bei der Verbindung mit dem OneLink Dock und dem Verwenden von Outlook 2013.
Vorab:
Wenn ich das Netzwerklankabel an den S440 stecke funktioniert alles einwandfrei inkl. bei Betrieb der Antivirus Software Kaspersky.
Wenn ich nun den OneLink Dock anschliesse funktioniert auch alles super ausser dass ich keine Emails über über Outlook 2013 versenden kann. Auf der Arbeit soll das verwendet. Die Ports 993 und 465 sind für sowohl den Netzwerkadapter (identifiziert über die MAC Adresse) des S4440 als auch des OneLink Dock freigeschaltet.
Treiber Aktualisierungen habe ich alle vorgenommen. Ich bin auf dem letzen Stand.
Was übersehe ich? Gibt es mit dem OneLink Dock noch Einstellungen an die ich denken muss? Wenn ich wieder mehr als ein Kabel an den S440 hängen muss dann war das ein 100% iger FEHLKAUF!
Ich komme einfach nach Stundenlangem Lösung einfach nicht mehr weiter (

Habe es ohne USB Dongles getestet. Keine Änderung. Auch deinen zweiten Test habe ich durchgeführt und keine Veränderung am Ergebnis. Über Outlook werden einfach keine Emails versendet. ISP Einstellungen passen. Ports und MAC Adressen sind freigegeben. Auch habe ich nochmal den Treiber manuell aktualisiert direkt vom Hersteller AXIS. Kein Erfolg. Bin am verzweifeln!

X1 Carbon 2015 : Cracking sound speaker, especially with Dolby on (and other issues)

I just received my new X1 Carbon 2015. This is the first time I purchase a Lenovo Device after years with Dell.
Unfortunately, the sound quality is horrible, but I am not sure if this is by design of if the laptop is faulty..
The sound is very bad when it is coming from the speakers, especially the left speaker: the sound is cracking and saturating. This is especially true when the Dolby is on, and you clearly hear the problem with standard Windows event sounds (for example the sound you can hear when you adjust the volume with the slide on the sound icon next to the clock), or any warning sound.
No problem if I use an headset.
Am I alone with that issue?
Even if the device looks great, I have to say that I am overall disappointed by the laptop quality, especially regarding the cost of that device (this is the Core i7 with QHD touchscreen and 512GB PciE SSD):
- When I received it last week, the left button from the trackpad was stuck (impossible to use). I had to gently scratch the side of the trackpad button to release the button. Probably some remains of the manufacturing blocking the button.
- Then I noticed that sound issue.
- And finally yesterday, I discovered a spot on the bottom right of the screen. Not a dead pixel, but a clear spot behind the pixels, 1 square millimeter, reflecting the backlight.

Just had the IBM service tech at my house to replace the left speaker (I had purchased on-site service contract). He replaced it with a new one, and it now sounds normal - the distorted cracking & buzzing is gone. There appeared to be some tiny nicks or cracks on the original speaker element, which may have caused the problem.
The process was fairly painless. Lenovo had the part in stock, shipped it to a local tech, who scheduled the service call within a day.
The sound quality of course still isn't great without external speakers or headphones - these are just tiny little ultrabook speakers, after all. But at least now the sound from the built-in speakers meets my expectations, and doesn't make me cringe when I hear it. Once again enjoying my new Carbon X1...

ThinkPad OneLink Dock USB Probleme

Hallo Forum,
ich habe bei meinem OneLink Dock das Problem, dass ich an keinem der USB-Ports Drucker installieren kann...
Ich habe das Gerät bereits einmal austauschen lassen; doch auch beim neuen Gerät leider kein Erfolg.
Schließe ich den Drucker am USB-Port vom Notebook selbst an, lässt sich dieser problemlos installieren.
Jedes Mal, wenn ich den Drucker über einen der Ports am Dock anschließe, sehe ich sofort im Geräte-Manager ein "Unknown Device". Diesem lässt sich jedoch kein Treiber o.ä zuweisen. Ich habe lediglich die Information, dass ein unbekanntes Gerät angeschlossen ist, welches "einwandfrei funktioniert".
Gibt es ähnliche Erfahrungen und Tipps für Abhilfe?

will hier mal ein Update eintragen.
Habe das Gerät nun zum Support (zumindest nennt sich diese katastrophale Einrichtung so) gesendet.
Habe zusätzlich noch angegeben, dass das Tochpad nicht sauber reagiert als zweiter Fehler. Hätte mich so nicht unbedingt gestört - aber wenn es eh eingeschickt werden muss...
Zum ersten hat die Abholung nicht geklappt. Der Fahrer von Ups kam 2,5 Stunden nach der vereinbarten Zeitpsanne. Gut kann passieren.
Gerät eingeschickt. Nach einer Woche telefonisch nachgefragt - Antwort per Mail - kein Fehler gefunden. Sofort Antwort per Mail zurück, ob das Dock mit Ethernet und Bildschirm getestet wurde und nicht nur mit Maus. Der Fehler tritt nur in Kombination auf - das hatte ich aber bei der Störungsmeldung bereits angegeben. Was stellen die sich vor - um eine Maus anzuschließen bauche ich kein Dock !! Darum gebeten, dass mich der Techniker direkt anrufen soll. Das war letzten Freitag.
Heute Anruf von Lenovo. Das Gerät befindet sich vermutlich schon auf dem Rückweg. Mein Hinsweis in den Mails wurde nicht beachtet, der Techniker könne mich auch nicht anrufen da er kein Deutsch spricht !!!!. Die Dame vom Support hat nun nochmal meine Hinweise auf den Anschluss von Ethernet und Bildschirm zusammen mit der Maus aufgenommen und schaut ob Versand noch gestoppt werden kann.....
Das Tochpad sei im übrigen auch in Ordnung - was ich so nicht bestätigen kann.
Das alles bei einem hochpreisigen Laptop für 1500 Euro.
Das schlimme ist - ich komme mir hier irgendwie hilflos vor - was kann man noch tun ?
Sowas hätte ich von Lenovo nie erwartet.
Bind mal gespannt wie es jetzt weiter geht - Das Gerät ist nun schon 1,5 Wochen weg.

I have a new iMac at home and a new Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop for work. I want to use the ThinkPad USB 3.0 Dock that was provided with my laptop to connect to my iMac so I can use the bigger display while working at home. Is this possible and if so what extra hardware or software do I need?

I was wondering if it is safe to use a 90W adapter through a OnelinkDock. The specified input is 3.25A at 20V, but my laptop powered through the dock still sees a 90W adapter connected.

go to Device Manager and remove the device there.
Then go to "Uninstall or change program" and uninstall the "ThinkPad OneLink Dock" by Lenovo.
Restart the computer and download the driver again from this link:

How to dual boot from usb thumb drive in lenovo x1 carbon

How can I boot Lenovo x1 carbon 2014 from an USB thumb drive? It has Windows 8.1. And I have tried disabling secure boot in bios setting. And set usb drive to boot order 1. But that still does not work.

I use the
Windows USB/DVD Download Tool too to create the usb thumb drive. And I use the tool to copy the iso file there.
And when I use that drive on an older laptop runs windows 7. it works.

How to undock Thinkpad Yoga from Onelink Docking station?

I cannot find any option to undock and just ripping of the onelink cable doesn't feel to be quite safe ?!?

Even if it were physically possible, you wouldn't be able to use both Ethernet ports at the same time, because the motherboard doesn't support more than one connection at the time.

Lenovo X1 Carbon Mobile Broadband Greyed out

Hello all,
My Mobile Broadband seems to be Greyed out inside of Access connections. I can not switch off from Wifi to anything else
I have put a fresh windows 7 64 bit image onto the system, installed all drivers, followed by Lenovo System Update and all of those updates. I do not see any missing devices in device manager.
I have 5 devices listed under "Network Adapters" inside of device manager
Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advances-N 6205
Lenovo USB2.0 Ethernet adapter
PANGP Virtual Ethernet Adapter
If i "show hidden devices" in device manager, i can see the WAN Miniport (IKEv2, IP, IPv6, L2TP, Network Monitor, PPPOE, PPTP, SSTP)
I have tried downloading the driver for the mobile broadband card directly and installing, which happens, but nothing changes. I have also switched out the AT&T card inside the device, thinking it might have been a bad SIM, but nothing changes. Still unable to switch to Mobile Broadband
Has anyone else experienced such an issue or have any idea on what else to try?

Except for the SIM card, everything you are seeing is consistent with there not being a mobile broadband (wireless WAN) card in the system, and the Lenovo support site backs that up - there is no WWAN card in the 3444-FEU .
You can verify that by looking under the keyboard, as described in the hardware maintenance manual:

Is it possible to load the new Apple OS on a Lenovo X1 Carbon?

I've been working with Lenovo's for a while and looking on doing a massive trip in Latin America and need a really durable system but don't want to get a mac notebook when I know how tough Lenovo's are.
So I have a hook up at Lenovo and thinking about the Lenovo x1 Carbon, but I've invested so much in the Mac OS on my home iMac.
I was wondering if I could get the best of both worlds? Can you guys give advice on this?
