List of Web Reports & corresponding Roles

Hi,
I'm looking for some table or something which can provide me the list of all Web Reports and corresponding Roles to which they are assigned.
Does anybody know how to find it?
Regards,
Vikrant.

Hi Danny,
I certainly can get the information from Metadata Repository, but the problem is we have close to 350 web reports. It would take lot of time to determine role for each.. one by one.

Vikrant.

  • How to Get List of Webi Reports in CMS which are scheduled?

    Dear Experts,
    I want to generate list of Web Intelligence Report which are scheduled.
    In addition to above, if I get destinations and in case BO Inbox of mail recipients, list of recipients we be an added advantage for me.
    is there any way, I can achieve this using SDK or sum of that matter?
    Any Clue / Suggestions will be a great help for me.
    Thanks you,
    Regards,
    Sachin Dalal

    You can use the following query:
    Select * from ci_infoobjects where si_name='<webi report name>' and si_instance=1
    This will return all scheduled instances in their default location for specified webi report.
    For each object you can retrieve:
    ((IProperties)((IProperties)oInfoObject.getSchedulingInfo().properties().getProperty("SI_DESTINATIONS").getValue()).getProperty("1").getValue()).getProperty("SI_PROGID).getValue().toString : returns managed for instances scheduled to enterprise user's inbox.
    ((IProperties)((IProperties)((IProperties)((IProperties)oInfoObject.getSchedulingInfo().properties().getProperty("SI_DESTINATIONS").getValue()).getProperty("1").getValue()).getProperty("SI_DESTSCHEDULEOPTIONS").getValue()).getProperty("SI_OUTPUT_FILES").getValue()).getProperty("1").getValue() -> returns the integer value of the SI_ID of the user where the report is scheduled in the user's inbox.
    Query for the instance in the query builder and you can see the structure for SI_DESTINATIONS property bag.
    Hope this help.

  • Procedure to Publish BI Web Reports in Portal Roles

    Hi,
    I've created close to 20 Web Reports and need to make those available for Users through Portal. There are different sets of Users, such that one set can access only half, rest can access remaining. I know this can be achieved by creating separate Reporting User Roles, but need help with below points:
    1. Our basis team are not familiar with BI7 Role maintenance, thus would anyone share the Reporting User Roles design (i.e. which authorization objects to assign).
    2. When I open a Web Template in WAD, the menu Publish -> "in Role" is disabled. Should this be enabled to publish a web report in role or is there any other way?
    Please let me know.

  • Query Builder - Find WEBI reports that are using a table

    I am trying to find list of WEBI reports using a specific table. This specific table is used in only 1 universe.
    Though I could successfully find list of reports that use this universe, I am unable to find drill down further and find the subset of reports using this table/object.
    SELECT si_name, SI_KIND, si_id, SI_PARENTID,SI_AUTHOR,SI_OWNER FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS, CI_APPOBJECTS
    WHERE PARENTS("SI_NAME='WEBI-UNIVERSE'","SI_NAME ='MyUniverse'")
    Is it possible to find the information I am looking for using query builder.
    Also, for a given WEBI report I am trying to find the list of report names and the folder they reside in:
    Select SI_NAME, SI_ID, SI_PATH, SI_KIND, SI_OWNER From CI_INFOOBJECTS, CI_APPOBJECTS WHERE
    PARENTS("SI_NAME='Folder Hierarchy'",
    "PARENTS('SI_NAME=''WEBI-UNIVERSE'' ', 'SI_NAME=''MyUniverse'' ')" )
    The above query just gives me the folder names. I am looking to find the report names as well the the folder (and preferably the path) in a single query. Is that possible.

    Sri,
    With respect to your 1st requirement:
    In BusinessObjects 6.5 it was possible. However, post BOXIR2 this information could not be retrieved from CMS via query builder.  I agree with Jorge Sosua's comment above.
    With respect to your 2nd requirement:
    The field 'SI_PATH' will retrieve Filestore path(physical path). If you were referring logical path(Public folder path or psuedo-reference path) will you please refer my respone to Kelly Stone at BusinessObjects Query builder queries - Part II , If this may assist you.

  • How to get the Objects which are used in the webi Report.

    Hi Expert,
    I am trying to get the list of  WebI reports and Objects which are present in the report at  BO 4.0.
    I can able to get details  for only the list of reports and universes.
    Could  any one help me to get those details.
    Regards,
    Murali S

    With 4.0, there is no longer a way to do this using just the .NET SDK because the ReportEngine SDK no longer exists for .NET.  Instead, you'll have to look at using the RESTful Web Services SDK for Webi which runs in the Web Application Container Server on your report server (NOT on the web server!)
    RESTful web services are platform-independent and don't require the installation of any SDK files.  Everything is done through standard HTTP Get, Put, and Post commands and the results are returned in either XML or JSON format.  You don't mention which service pack of 4.0 you're on, but the RESTful web services have evolved over the course of the 4.0 service packs, so more recent is definitely better.
    You can find the documentation for this in the "Development Information" section at help.sap.com/bobip40.  There is also a "space" on SCN for this at http://scn.sap.com/community/restful-sdk and there are some links on this page for various resources and sample code.

  • Roles & Authorizations for Web Reports...

    Hello Experts,
    We are newly implementing Web Reports in our organization. I need your great thoughts regarding implementing Authorizations for users to access the reports.
    We are using a report menu page that contain links to all the reports. The page opens by clicking on a link on the portal. The individual reports are basically accessed from this page by clicking on the corresponding button (links a URL ).
    I wonder if there is any way to look into the menu page (XHTML code of that web page/application) when ever the users click on the reports link and disable those buttons that the users are not allowed to access depending on the roles users are assigned to. Otherwise is there any better way to do it.
    And also how to call a function from web applications.
    This is a kind of urgent issue any quick ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    I apologize for the difficulty in reading this  I will repost.
    We have had no training or received any documenation on WAD.  The below was created from internet research.  Hence there may be WAD functionality that would allow easier maintenance, however; this is what we use.
    With our dashboard, I have a web template that contains hyperlinks for our reports.  I will call this HeaderTemplate1.  For each web page I have report templates.  These report templates have the HeaderTemplate1 mentioned above as well as the report tables, charts, text elements, tabs, etc.
    The JavaScript logic for accessing the urls of the specific report templates is contained within our HeaderTemplate1.
    Below is how our setup was tested.  Keep in mind, this was only for testing basic functionality.  If this is something we use I will most likely create a master data table that houses the user ID and an attribute for the header type.  Thus, any report menu changes can be altered quickly without changing the javascript of each report template.  Also this will accomodate the few thousand users we have.
    To add the functionality of different 'menus', I created another header template with the same hyperlinks of HeadertTemplate1 with the exception of one or two hyperlinks.  This, HeaderTemplate2, was added to each report template just below HeaderTemplate1.  Note that both HeaderTemplate1 and HeaderTemplate2 were set as visible on each report template.
    Also, on each report template I added a text element.  The 'List of Text Elements'property was set as such; Element Type = General Text Sympol,  Element ID = SYUSER.  This Text Element was linked to a query  or view from BEx via the dataprovider.  On the HTML side, I surrounded this Text Element with
    <Font ID="UserID",,,textelement....</Font>
    Each Report template has this javascript function, fnRepOnLoad, which is triggered at the OnLoad event.
    [<SCRIPT language = "JAVASCRIPT">
      function fnRepOnLoad()
        var user_ID=document.getElementById("UserID").innerHTML;
        if (user_ID=='USER123')
          document.all["HEADTMPLT1"].style.visibility = 'hidden';
          document.all["HEADTMPLT1"].style.position = 'absolute';
        else
          document.all["HEADTMPLT2"].style.visibility = 'hidden';
          document.all["HEADTMPLT2"].style.position = 'absolute';
    </script>
    The function results as this.  If the user is USER123, HeaderTemplate1 is hidden, leaving only HeaderTemplate2 visible.  Otherwise HeaderTemplate2 is invisible leaving on HeaderTemplate1 visible.
    We do not use buttons as our global leaders prefer hyperlinks but buttons can be enabled or disabled similarly.
    As mentioned before, if this method is implemented, I will create a reportable master data table.  Create a customer exit variable to retrieve the header template required for the user.  This header template variable value will then be pulled by a text element on each report template.  The script function will act as follows.  If many report headers are necessary I may use a case statement.
    Var User_template=document.getElementById("UserTmplt").innerHTML;
    If UserTmplt = HeaderTemplate1
    -->  make all header templates other than HeaderTemplate1 invisible
    else
    -->  make all header templates other than HeaderTemplate2 invisible
    etc...
    I hope this helps.  Please keep me posted with your solution.  I am very interested to learn what others are doing.
    Best Regards,
    Larry

  • How to schedule a WebI Report for the list of users that it contains in it

    I have a WebI Report in BOXIr2 which contains the list of Employees Details (Employee Name, Mail ID, Emp Code) who had missed their timesheet for the week, Please let me know Is their a way that i can send mail notification through BO report Scheduling to the list of Employees who are listed in the Report, Thanks in advance !

    Hi,
    in BO XI 3.1 you can do this using a publication object. Unfortunately in XI R2 this works only for DeskI documents. You may want to consider using the BOE SDK for this. I must admit that I do not have a specific solution for you a workflow may look like this:
    1) Schedule your WebI with the user list to be exported on a network drive
    2) Build a java program that reads in the file, connects to the BOBJ repository and schedules the report using the recepient list.

  • ProcessdpCommandEx error when adding or removing object from WebI report (based on BEX query) query panel object list

    Hi,
    We have WebI reports build on BEX using BAPI connectivity. When we are trying to add a object in query panel in a existing report we are getting this ProcessdpCommandEx error. But error does not appear when we add at the end of the list of objects already added.
    Can you calrify whether this could be some setting issue or it is a known bug?
    Can you share SAP Note No in case it is a known bug?

    Hi Avijit,
    This error occurs in case of any failure in the connectivity. It is like the data providers are not getting processed.
    You have mentioned that the issue does not come with newly created reports
    Are you creating new reports on migrated universe or a newly created universe?
    If issue only comes with migrated universe, please check if the connection has been migrated properly and required middleware and database connectors are in place.
    If connections are in place, try importing and exporting the universe once and check.
    In case, new report works fine with migrated universe, then you can simply try to re-point the universe by editing the query and can run it again and check.

  • List key figures in navigation panel of web report

    Hi,
    I have the standard navigation panel on the left side of my web report that shows a list of the characteristics in rows and a list of free characteristics. Under the heading columns I can see the point key figures.
    Is there any possibility to list all the key figures that are included in the report so that I can use the drag and drop function for adding / removing key figures?

    Philipp,
    Since Key figures is a structure, you cant see all the key figures under that area. What you can do is, you can restrict the keyfigures in the WAD report itself based upon your selection.
    Hope it helps,

  • Dynamically refresh a list box in a web report

    Dear All,
    I am having a serious issue with one of my web reports. I am using Oracle 9i PL/SQL Cartridges for developing my web reports. The problem is :
    I have a drop down box for department and also a list box for locations.
    I want to dynamically refresh the locations list box whenever the user selects a department.
    I know I have to refresh the page somehow to get the list box requery from the database.
    Can anyone please send me a sample code or suggest how to do it. I am new to PL/SQL cartridges.
    Thank You

    hello,
    althought his is not a PL/SQL cartridge forum i'll give it a shot.
    the basic behind the solution would be that your procedure need input values that would be used to create this cascading effect. so you would have e.g. input values for region and country for a form that should provide selection fro region country and city.
    when the procedure is called for the first time without any parameters, it would generate a drop down list for the first (region) parameter. when the user selects a value javascript would kick in that would submit the form that basically calls itself, but this time passing the value for the region parameter.
    now the procedure would create two drop down lists (region and country) because it had a value passed for region. both drop down lists would have a javaScript event that would submit the form. the only difference would be that the region list would need to clear the value of the country value before submitting so changing the region would produce a new country list.
    i hope that was clear enough. as for the code example. that is simple javaScript and you can find tons of examples on the Web. just look for "JavaScript" and "OnChange".

    philipp

  • How to extract list of object and formula used in variables as Excel for a particular Webi Report

    Hi,
    Is it possible to get the list of variables and objects, and variable formula used in a webi report extracted in excel or PDF in BO XI R3.1?
    Thanks In Advance,
    Shenbu

    Hi Shenbaga,
    You can try to get this information using the report engine sdks of BusinessObjects which is specific to webi reports.
    Please refer to the link to download the dev guide and api referrence for XI 3.1
    SAP BusinessObjects BI 3.x and Lower - Developer SDK Library
    Refer to the Report Engine Java SDK dev guide and api referrence.
    Go through the dev guide in detail and you would be able to use the report engine sdks as per your needs.
    Additional Note: There have been changes in report engine sdks from XI 3.1 to BI 4.0 and you would not be able to get all the features available in XI 3.1 report engine sdks in BI 4.0.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to add Tabs and List Boxes in Webi Report in Reporting Area(Not Report Filters & Input Controls)

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to use some components called List Box and Tabs in my WebI report for presenting the information by dynamic dimension and measure selection using list box and segregate information by using Tabs as in below image.
    Image was prepared in MSPaint not executable webi report.
    Is it possible to integrate the list box and tabs into Report Zone in BO Webi? as show in below image?
    Thanks in Advance
    Muralidhar Reddy N

    Hello Muralidhar Reddy,
    The exact tool for your requirement is SAP BO Dashboard or SAP BO Design studio. WebI is a tool for ad-hoc reporting tool and we have limited functionalities to make dashboards using webI. You can have all those chart options in WebI and you can use Input controls or drill filters for restricting data. But you cannot have these selection components in reporting area. Tabs as shown in above post, you can have in bottom of the report.
    find below a good example of dashboard using WebI

    hope it helps

    I guess you can do it from Acitivity universe or query Builder
    You can write below query in query builder:
    SI_KIND for CI_INFOOBJECTS includes 'Webi', 'Pdf', 'Excel', 'Folder', 'FullClient', 'FavoritesFolder', 'Inbox', 'PersonalCategory', 'Shortcut', 'MyInfoView', 'AFDashboardPage'
    I guess this link may help out better
