Make a raw material sellable

Hi All,
At creation time a ROH material will not be sellable. In some cases we need to be able to sell a ROH material. Therfore we create the Material Master with sales view.
If the material is imported for self production & in some cased we need to sell  raw material so in this case what is teh process we need to follow? How excise capture will be made for it in india?
Thanks in advance,
sapuser

hi
i think when u import the raw material u follows the process of paying duty
means you are paid the duty while imports
now while selling u will be selling the material at higher price than import price (just acting as first stage dealer )
now when u sale the raw material u have to provide the actual import duty copy to the customer so that he will able to take the credit of the duty (if applicable)
so it will be normal imports
then sales with bed (with physical BOE copy to customer)
better to consult your client or Fi guy how the scenario will be
any other views on this most wellcome

  • Excess Raw Material  issue & FG reciept in Make to order Production

In MTO Scenario I have created sales order for 10EA.After MRP run planned order of 10EA was created.I converted to Production Order.GI of raw material & GR for FG happens during order confirmation. If for that customer during Production physically 11Ea was produced. How i will show that extra FG (1EA) production & raw material booking against the order..

Can you clarify, does it  mean you have consumed raw material for 11 EA FG, or you consumed only equivalent of 10 EA and due to production efficiency increase you gtot 11 EA output.
In any case you can post this as a normal production order output. For additional 1 EA you can add this in Tolerance.

  • Excice invoice captured as capital goods, but material is raw material

    All SAP Gurus,
We have wrongly captured (and posted) the excise invoice as Capital goods (RG 23C), but material is Raw material (RG 23A).
Material document can not be reversed as material is already issued and consumed for production activities.
To get the effect in Rg 23 A, we have passed the Excise JV (J1IH - Other Adj.).
Due to this Excise JV, we are getting entry in RG 23A, but the same entry is also displayed in RG 23C.
Is there a way to delete/remove/reverse this entry from RG 23C.
    Please suggest,

  • Diff stock GL account for raw material

    Hi,
We have raw material under 2 different location, one is under raw material warehouse, another one is under staging area which belongs to production. From time to time, we will issue stock from RM warehouse to staging area.
The stock GL account (either debit or credit) for the raw material is RM Stock (140001) when we do any movement.
But we do not want like this. We want that when there is any movement from raw material warehouse location, it will charge to GL account 140001 (RM Stock). And when the movement is from starging area location, it will charge to another GL account (140002 - production stock).
We want to seperate out the GL account for the raw material if they are under different storage location.
    Can this be done?
    Kindly please advise. Thank you.

    Hi Sim
Valuation of Stock is done at Plant level and not Storage Location Level. Within a Plant, you can differentiate the G/L accounts based on the Valuation Class assigned in the Accounting view in Material Master.
The above settings enable automatic account determination at the time of GR. If you want different G/L accounts for different areas, there are 2 options:
    1. Configure and Activate Split Valuation. This will enable you to give different Valuation Classes for different Storage Locations in Matl Master.
    2. The better option is to make the 2 locations as 2 different plants and extend the materials to both these plants.
However, pls mention your purpose of differentiating the G/L accounts. If it is only to view the stocks in the 2 areas, there are many reports like MB52, etc.
    Hope this clarifies.
    Thanks

  • QM for raw material 103 mv. type

    Hello QM Gurus,
Please help me in following senario,
When I am doing GR for the raw material, I am posting the stock to blocked stock through 103 mov. type.
In system the inspection lot is being created but it is not in released status, although inspection plan is properly defined, hence I cannot do the result recording for the lot.
If anybody can suggest where the problem is.
    Your king suggestion are expected.
    Regards,
    Amit Shirsath.

I'm listing out some common mistakes because of which the Lot wont be in REL status.
First in MM03 QM view -check for the inspection type(01) and 05 for other GR to be active. This should be fine in ur case since your are saying the lot is created.Make sure the check mark Automatic assignment to be checked ,Check characs and also Insp with task list.
Second-Make sure the inspection Plan(QP01 display) was created with the same Key date as the Insepction lot or even earlier .The key date can be checked under qa03 to display Insp lot.
Third-make sure the Usage is the same as in the Inspection lot.The usage is the one which links the Plan to the Lot .It should be 5 for GR from PO and 53 for other GR in the insp plan. You can check the Inscpetion lot usage by going to QA03.
Check all these, ur problem should be solved. Please let me know if there is any furthur problem. And also reward if helpful and close the thread.

  • Raw material Moving Avg. Price (MAP) should include overhead cost.

We receive a raw material that has unit price of USD 10, the material is used in BOM. We incur some additional cost on that material and want to include that additional cost as a part of raw material cost. Say additional cost is USD 1 per unit. We want the system to include USD 1 in material MAP making is USD 11 per unit (i.e. 10 + 1).
Please help how can we achieve this.
    regards

    Hi
Your scenario would be better represented by Price Control S and using BOM/Routing/Prod order in PP... I dont know why your PP guys should be against it.... You should do it if you wanna capture the Loss of 13 kg in the system
Anotjer option is to create a condition type and assign an accrual key to the cond type so that the Offset for this cond type does not post to GR/IR account.. Else, your vendor would get paid extra

  • Cost Estimates taking raw material in CK40N

    Dear Experts,
We are running Costing run using CK40n by selecting site & article
    type:ZMTG. (Only Finished Product)
But Standard cost is displaying for ROH/VERP in CK13n/MM43.
We only want to carry out std cost run for only ZMTG article.
In Costing varinat Priority is set for "Valuation Price according to price control" so the value give is correct. But the standard price field is getting updated in material master for Raw Material.
I want to know usually whether it used to take like this, if not where i need to make changes so that it should not take while costing the finished product.
    Please reply asap.

    Dear Abhisek,
It does not matter if the standard field updates with cost estimate, coz it does not effect financial results at all, reason behind the price control which is moving average  for RAW materials.
Secodndly, it is helpful for you to find out the price of material when cost estimate was exucuted, coz it will not change until your further cost estimate run.
Raw Materials are part of BOM, so system always calculate their prices to reach at price of finish product, but system does not post any price change document for raw materials.
Further u can confirm using tcode CKMPCD

  • How MRP Run exclude QI Stock Type of a Raw Material SLOC?

    Dear all
    Fact:
All of our raw materials must be subject to quarantinee upon GR. We have Storage Location of Raw Material: RMSL
In Material Master of that Raw Material
We are using the "SLOC of EP" (MRP View 2) to put the defaulted GR SLOC. And we also make use of the "Post to QI Stock" in View: Purchasing.
    Upon GR:
During GR, the Raw Mat SLOC (RMSL) will be copied from "SLOC of EP" of the material master data, and it will be posted to the stock type "QI STOCK".
    Problem:
However, when the MRP Controller run MRP, it will take the QI Stock Type of Raw Material SLOC into account.
Is there anyway we can exclude the QI Stock Type of Raw Material SLOC from MRP Run?
I have read from some threads to suggest to post it to the Quarantinee SLOC. We prefer not to create another Quarantinee SLOC (QISL) which will be filled in SLOC of EP and then after passing QC, we perform Transfer Posting from SLOC: QISL to SLOC: RMSL. We have a few Raw Material SLOCS and we do not want the Warehouse guy to get confused which Raw MAterial SLOC to choose upon GR. Rather, we prefer it to be defaulted in the "SLOC of EP" in the material master.
    Please advise.

    Hi,
Generally MRP consider stock from all the storage location when run the MRP for Plant level for material.
However we can exclude the particular storage location from MRP Run, for those following settings to be done.
Go to MRP-2 View of material master and select the storage location to be excluded from MRP. (Press Shift +f1 ex .sloc2) As per your case it should be RMSL
In that MRP view go to Storage location MRP Tab.
And assign u201CSLoc MRP indicator = 1 (Storage location stock excluded from MRP)u201Dand save.
Now run the MRP, stock from sloc2 will not be considered to create-planned order.
Please try this and revert back.

  • Raw material costing - Valuation strategy with info-rec. "L" - Consignment

    Hi all,
I want to implement raw material costing for all our raw material.
I created a new costing variant which use strategy "L"  (price from purchasing info-record).  My sub-strategy is 9 - Effective Price from PO followed by 5 - Effective price from info-record.
Everything works well except for consignment with vendor.
I have a raw that is procured from a vendor. The price for the raw is stored in the purchasing info-record and has condition types associated with it. This PIR is of CONSIGNMENT type. However, When costing the raw in CK11N the price for this consignment material is not pulled into the estimate.
I have seen in note 552486 that "For the valuation with a price from the info record, the system can basically only consider info records with category 'N' (normal) and 'L' (subcontracting). "
Have any of you come accross this situation? if yes, how did you resolve it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
any other idea about this ?  I want to use strategy "L" but want to know if I can make it work with consignment.

  • Raw material issue for inspection from inspection lot

    Hello friends,
My sample size is fixed i.e.75 gm for all  raw material quality testing. I have defined sampling procedure with sampling type "fixed sample". I want that this amount should be decreased from total lot quantity when i am posting it to unrestricted use. i.e. for 10 kg inspection lot quantity, 9.925 kg quantity should be posted .Now, system propose whole quantity for stock transfer from quality to unrestricted after usage decision.
    Waiting for reply!
    Thanks in advance!!

    Dear Kiran
    1)  System doesnot take decimal in samples. if your basic unit is KG and you procure 10kg material system will consider sample amount as 1 kg. it will not take 0.075kg as the sample.
    2) Other option is make the procurement in GMs but that  will be difficult for purchaser to handle
    3) or esle make use of this exit and do the posting based on that

  • Raw material as Traded material

    Dear All,
I am working for a client which is into manufacturing of Generators.
One of the raw material which is used to manufacture the Generators, is also sold to vendor.
For FG material, it is Make to Order scenario.
For the raw material, its Make to Stock.
Is it advisable to create a new material type HAWA and create a new material master of the same raw material  or to extend the sale view of the raw material itself.
When PGI is done without  with the same material type ROH, system is asking for a Cost object.
Pls advise me on how to map this scenario.
    Thanks.

    Dear Ajay,
    1. I have tested the scenario with the requirement Class Y40 and Req type YKE.
In the Req Class: I have maintained account assingment category M, Valuation  as A and also Settlement profile as Sale order LIne item becomes cost object.
As u said Consumption posting field is E.
Wiith the above settings I have tested the selling of Raw material directly to vendor, where in at PGI it does not asked any /cost object as i think Sale order item will b cost obect to which the consumption entry will be posted to.
Now on Settlement of the Sale order, Cost of the trading material is settled to COPA.
    This has fullfilled the requirement.
But still I have a doubt whether the above said process is correct thought it has full filled my requirement.
    2. I have used another requirement class 31: order requirement which doent have any AAC, and also consumption posting field is blank, when tried with this requirement class and req type, it has stilll asked cost object. I think the reason could be as the consumption account is a cost element.
Pls can u advise on this.
    Thanks

  • Raw material -scrap-against production order

    Hi all,
I withdrawn 10 qty of raw material for production order using mvt type :261. Due to some wrong machine Operation  2 qties of the Raw material is become unusable(scrap).
I want to return this 2 qty of raw material to warehouse.
what is the movement type can i use?
    Please advise me in this....

    Hi Kumar,
    Please make your question clearer.
Have you made a confirmation against a PrdORd? I mean:
    1. confirmed 10 pcs of FGs
    2. withdrawn 10 pcs of raw materials
    3. Later you recognized that 2 pcs of FGs were not good because of the wrong quality of raw material.
In this case you can cancel your confirmation in CO13 (and do it again only for 8 pcs of FGs and scrap the 2 pcs of wrong raw materials) or you can ask for 2 pcs of raw materials from WH and produce the missing 2 pcs of FGs (physically). In this case you can scrap (MB1A 551) the latter 2 pcs of raw materials.
Other option is that after getting 2 pcs of raw material and producing the 2 pcs of finished goods you book an excess consumption in MB1A + MVT 261 + PrdOrd reference. It based on your concept...(in which way you want to handle the scrap).

  • Linking a Raw Material Vendor to Specific Customer

    Hi,
How to link raw material vendor to a specific customer in SAP. In make to order cycle, PR generated has reference of the Sales Order. So when this PR is converted to PO, the system should only allow the user to create the purchase order for the vendor specified by the customer.
Edited by: Matt on Sep 28, 2010 9:51 AM - Please don't post in ALL CAPITALS

    Hi,
vendor can be linked to customer , in vendor master customer number can be maintained .
Same customer you can maintain master data whereas if you want to link the vendor with PO then at the time of creation of PR
create source with vendor and material combination .
And assign this source determination at PR.

  • MRP for FG not looking at Raw Material

    HI all,
I'm running MRP for finished goods material against my production plan (created in MD61).   The material has a BOM component but when I run MRP for the FG its not looking at BOM component to consider raw material) availability and thus proposing dates solely based on the Production Plan and not any other requirements.
It simple creates the planned orders based on the production plan entered into MD61.  The dates for the planned orders don't take into consideration that on the suggested Production date there is not enough raw material to actual produce the product.
The Production plan does drive requirements to purchase the raw material but the dates are not neccessarily correct to get product to the warehouse on time for production run.

How do I get the MRP for the FG to not only create the planned orders from the production plan but also take into consideration raw material availability?   Thanks for your help!!

    VC,
I need to the PlndOrd date for FG to take into consideration raw material availability...otherwise it's pretty useless to the site.
I guess you are unfamiliar with the workings of standard MRP.  MRP in ECC as delivered by SAP will not support this requirement.
There are a couple of assemble to order strategies that may be suitable for you, if all of your RM materials exist in the FGs BOM.  Strat 81 and 82, which are intimately linked to the Sales order ATP check.  These strategies are not compatible with FGs forecasts.
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/EN/41/19206a45fd11d188ff0000e8322f96/frameset.htm
In SAP ERP, MRP just does not check the availability of components during the MRP run.  The Net Requirements calculation of a component part (which is the closest concept within MRP to an Availability check) takes place ONLY after all parent parts are completely planned, and all parent part planned orders have been already been generated and saved.  In effect, when MRP is running, information is neither gathered nor considered as to what the planning situation will be for the components.
APO has several solutions that, depending upon the detailed requirements, might provide a solution.  A common one is to first run an MRP type heuristic, to create planned orders for all the shortages, and subsequently run a 'Bottom-up' scheduling heuristic to bring supply and demand dates into alignment, based upon pegging information.  ERP does not have this functionality.
Of course, SAP ERP is infinitely modifiable.  If you have enough time and money, you can write custom code that will torture ERP into filling any Business Requirement.
