MobileMe Sync Issue

Anyone else having problems publishing events/albums to MobileMe
I keep trying & its starting to really annoy me
I have tried publishing an event with 230 photo's in there most of which are RAW format
I have just become a dad & I want to publish all the photo's for the family to enjoy & download e mailing 230 of them to the family would take some time thats what one of the Iphoto & MobileMe advantages are
I have also tried creating an album from the photo's & publishing that all that happens is i get the spinning beach ball & iphoto freezes up I have to force quit the application
I have tried going the other way by uploading the photo's to MobileMe in Safari which does work till i sync with iphoto
This time in Iphoto when i open the album in the MobileMe tab apart from 5 photo's which it says are shared (they have the little fan/shared icon bottom left of photo) all the rest say pending again Iphoto freezes up with the beach ball I have to use the force quit option I have also tried leaving it a few hours but i still have to force quit the app but hers the thing it removes from the MobileMe album all the photo's where it says pending in the bottom left of the photo
It also removed the same photo's when i view MobileMe in safari thats the annoying part
Anyone else having this problem if so have you resolved it
Any help or ideas guys would be greatly appreciated
Thank You

Thanks for the suggestion captfred i'm afraid it didn't work
I tried a few times
After installing update i then uninstalled then reinstalled ran disc utility & restarted
Still having the same issue
would it say not responding while working i would imagine it would take some time to publish the event with the amount of photo's in there
I'm going to try leaving it overnight & see what happens

  • MobileMe Sync Issues after Snow Leopard Upgrade

After installing Snow Leopard, MobileMe has been acting up specifically with syncing.
I have tried to reset it via the instructions found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1497
I am hoping it will be corrected and stays corrected. If you have the same issues, please let us know.
    Thank you.

This solution has helped some with MobileMe syncing.
    1. Close all programs
    2. Logout from MobileMe in System Preferences > MobileMe.
    3. Run Disk Utility/Repair permissions from your startup drive.
    4. Restart computer.
    5. Login to MobileMe, and reset your sync choices.
    6. Try syncing.
The first sync may take a good while, and you may be ask if you want to merge, overwrite. etc.

  • Contacts mobileme sync issue

On my new iphone 4 I do not have synchro with mobileme.
I do have calendars, mail, bookmarks working, but not contacts.
Afer restore from my old iphone I got all the contact but no sync.
I delete the mobile account and re-install : same thing.
    Any ideas
    Thanks

    I have the same issue.
my 3G sync fine with mobileme the new iPhone 4 does not. I've deselected, restored and reset all with no effect. iPhone 4 does not sync the contacts up or down... mail, bookmarks works fine.
and I still have my 3G and it is still working fine .. can that be the issue? do I need to "terminate" my old iphone?
    any ideas?

  • Had to create new user to fix mobileme sync issue, can I use time machine?

I had to create a new user for myself. I want to associate the new username with time machine backups
that I currently have, and not start from scratch of course.
    1. Will using time machine at this point:
    1.1 create new backups?
1.2 delete whats on the disk and then create new backups?
Last time something like this happened (I dont remember the details) I lost all my backups.
At this point I d like to be able to use the current backups with my new username and not lose any data/backups.
    Thanks,
    Eric

Of the new user account, yes.

No. Time Machine will never delete anything from your system. But it will, eventually, delete it's copies of things that no longer exist on your system.
At this point I d like to be able to use the current backups with my new username and not lose any data/backups.
That's going to be difficult, since OSX in general (and Time Machine in particular) think those two accounts are for two different people, and neither should have much access to the others' files.
Why did you have to create a new account?
Is the old account still on your Mac?
Assuming the old account is still there, your best bet may be to sign on as the old account and grant permission to your files to the new account; then sign on as the new account and copy them. But until you're sure you don't need anything from the backups, don't delete the old account, so you can use it to restore anything you need.

  • MobileMe sync problem

After upgrading to Leopard on a Macbook can't seem to enable MobileMe syncing.
I have entered my account info into System Preferences->MobileMe and can see my Account Status info, iDisk usage, etc.
But if I check the "Synchronize with MobileMe" button in System Preferences->MobileMe->Sync, the schedule pulldown and the checkboxes below of Bookmarks/Calendars/Contacts remain grayed out. And if I click anywhere else in the window after checking the "Synchronize with MobileMe" button, the button becomes unchecked.
    ?

    Hi,
You may need to click the Advanced button and Reset Sync Data but proceed with caution unless you are confident either MobileMe or your Mac contains the latest data to sync from or to. It's worth keeping a back up of your current contacts, bookmarks, calendars and such before attempting to reset sync.
Alternatively, consider opening a live chat with support, go to http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/ click on Synching with Mobile Me > Troubleshooting MobileMe Sync issues > Chat Now.

  • "This password is different" Issue with MobileMe Syncing

    Hi all,
I am getting an issue on two of my Mac's at the moment, which are both MobileMe sync'd (Contacts, Calendar and recently, Bookmarks) which is that saved passwords are no longer being pre-filled and when i enter the password it states "This password is different. Would you like to replace the saved password with this one?" even though the password is correct and the one that is stored.
It's obviously something that has happened when i turned Bookmark sync on, but I don't know what, not how to undo it. Obviously I have taken Bookmark sync off now, but it hasn't rectified the issue.
    Any help welcome.
    Regards
    Bill

O.K., I'm not a computer guy so I don't know why this caused it, but I found out what my problem was and maybe this will help. I had loaded a plug in for a school site that the only way to get it to run was to do a "Get info" on the safari app and check "Open Using Rosetta." The plug in ran fine and I forgot about it. I finally went back and unchecked that box and now my passwords/usernames are working fine after about a week of frustration.

  • Contacts mobileme sync (mac) issue, sync removed contact numbers!

    Hi.
I have a iphone 3G and sync it with my mobileme account and back to my osx10.5.4 mac. Problem is that last night the Iphone mysteriously lost all fields of informations for all of my contacts leaving only behind obsecure fields and the notes fields on the iphone.
Upon investigation the mobileme account had all the contact details but somehow they have been removed from the phone... Is there a sync issue???
I fixed by going into mobileme settings on the mac and resetting all data on the mobileme account. This then after a couple of mins updated the iphone with all the contact information again.
If it wasnt a mobileme issue then my iphone was hacked, anyone had any suspicions/experience with this?

    Hi everyone,
My problem is a little different. I don't have a MobileME mail account. Here's how I lost all my contacts: My work uses an Exchange server, and I went in, put all the settings in, once I had it all set up and going, my contacts instantly disappeared. I just had a few in my work / Exchange account, and those are now on the phone, but ALL the contacts I had on there before are now gone!
I've tried removing the Exchange account, and even removed my personal GMail account, and still, nothing. Anyone have any ideas before I have to spend hours, if not days, searching for and adding all my contacts again???
I'm (obviously) quite frustrated by this. I have tried just about every solution - syncing with my computer again, turning the phone off for a few minutes, then back on, I looked all over for the addressbook.data file, but can't seem to locate that anywhere, so that's a no go.
Any input / suggestions would be very much appreciated... I'm hoping to resolve this without having to manually put everything back in, but I'm afraid that may not be possible.

  • Disappearing Contacts, Mobile Me Sync Issues, Calendar crash-Answers??

I'll try to keep this post brief but hopefully it will help provide some possible answers for frustrated users experiencing the random complete wipe out of all contacts and calendar data when syncing with mobile me using either push or fetch. After several weeks of experiencing these random sync issues and spending several hours over several days between tech support calls with iPhone then Mobile Me support and then finally a genius bar appointment where the genius said he didn't have a clue and simply offered to replace my phone.
The next morning, SAME PROBLEMS... and through it all NO ONE could tell me why my sync was so randomly unreliable. Every other day for no apparent reason, my phone would suddenly lose all contacts and/or calendar data. (A few thousand contacts and two years of calendar data). It was both frustrating and strange—even stranger that Apple techs had no clue why and seemed to think no one else was having this issue.
I tried everything - complete restores, resets, deleting and re-adding the mobileme account, etc., etc., etc. One tech support person finally said, "good luck..." The others kept handing me off the higher levels of support... until finally they just said "we don't know why this is happening." I was waiting for someone to just say, "Look, we have issues with mobile me, so hang in there and eventually it will work." I can be patient and I still think the iphone is the greatest invention in recent years. But everybody I talked with at Apple seemed to think this should be working flawlessly.
I also started having a crash on the calendar anytime I tried to see the list view for "all calendars." This was frustrating because that's the best feature of the calendar app!
I was prepared to just return to syncing with my computer and wait for the software to improve between the phone and mobile me. Finally, last night I tried a few things that seem to be working... and for the first full day, mobile me is actually useful to me today. (my fingers are crossed!)
    Here's what I did.
    1. I minimized the number of calendars I was syncing - I have no idea if this affected the sync, but I was syncing eight calendars, now I'm down to four. (You can easily export a calendar and import those events back into a different calendar.)
    2. I did a complete restore of the phone (not from a back up) and the VERY FIRST THING, I added mobile me and synced only the calendar (set to push.) This cleared up the random calendar crash in list view and also mobile me was pushing data rather reliably. After a few moments my entire calendar was on the phone and worked perfectly. New events were transferred quickly back and forth.
    3. I then chose to sync my contacts through the computer rather than over the air. I fear that the contact sync was somehow messing up the whole communication process between the phone and the cloud. Someone suggested that the number of "groups" in contacts might have an impact on the sync issues as well. I didn't need my contacts to sync with the urgency of "push" so this works for me. Plus I have a lot of contacts and it's just faster over the cable.
    4. I then GREATLY reduced the number of apps on my phone. I originally had about 27 and I only reinstalled 9 of them. I did this ONE AT A TIME - starting with the most necessary and useful... and after each install, I checked the functionality of the calendar and mobile me. No problems. Perhaps I was having an app conflict?
    5. Then I reinstalled the rest of my content - music, podcasts, photos. Still no problems.
ONE of these steps actually worked, and I'm not sure which one. My guess is that one or more of my apps was conflicting in some way. OR possibly something with the contact sync... but for the last 24 hours the mobile me calendar sync using push has been consistently reliable and useful. (for the record, mobile me email has always worked perfectly for me.)
No one with tech support ever suggested to me that I could be having an application conflict or any other problems with calendars or contact groups, etc. I've spent many hours on this the past few weeks... and for the first time, my iphone seems to be working with mobile me correctly.
In reading many of these posts, it seems a lot of others are having similar problems... so hopefully these suggestions might be helpful. If you have any thoughts as to which of these solutions was the correct one, I would be interested in hearing your opinion.
    Thanks!

Are your Address Book contacts and iCal calendars/calendar events on your Mac synced with your MobileMe online address book and calendar?
When you say this data is not synced with your iPhone, none of your MobileMe online data is transferred to your iPhone, or after the initial transfer of this data to your iPhone when you first turned contacts and calendars for over the air syncing with your MobileMe account on your iPhone, the data is not kept synchronized with the MobileMe "cloud"?

  • Endless syncing: issue with iCal (2.0.5) and iPod Touch 8GB (4.0.2)

    Hi,
A couple of days ago I upgraded my iPod's OS from 4 to 4.0.2. Also, around those days, I made massive changes on my iCal's calendars (in my MacBook's iCal, not in the iPod's iCal). Since then, when I connect my iPod to my MacBook, iTunes stays syncing calendars and never stops.
I re-installed iTunes (the new version), but it didn't work.
I've tried rebooting, then restoring the iPod, restoring MacBook's iCal (Erased all calendars and created a new & empty one, then I went to Library and erased what I thought it was erasable).
I need help... I've just returned to college and it's a drama not being able to sync. Is it because iPod's new OS and Tiger won't work together anymore...?
PS: I've read something about MobileMe. I don't have nor want an account.
Thanks for reading and sorry for my poor English.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Troubleshooting .Mac syncing issues, should be helpful.
Just follow the steps listed under: General troubleshooting steps.
Before you do anything, make sure that you use iCal>File>Back up iCal...

  • SNOW LEOPARD & MOBILEME SYNC

Does anyone know if this sync issue has been fixed? Apparently new upgrades were initially causing problems with mobileme calendar sync and some calendars were lost?

    I haven't had any issues on 10.6.2.

  • Sync Issue After Compressing MPEG-2

My source is a true 24fps file (NOT 23.98!) from Avid.
When I used compressor to create a 23.98 MPEG-2 file, I noticed that the picture would occasionally jitter. After looking in the Compressor manual, on page 190 I saw,
"NOTE: If your source video has a frame rate of 24.00 fps rather than 23.98 fps,
Compressor skips one out of every 1000 source frames. If the 24p source video is
23.98 fps, Compressor transcodes all source frames, without skipping (or repeating) any of them."
Oh great, that's expected behavior. So I open up the 24.00 fps QuickTime in Cinema Tools, conform it to 23.98, and put it back through Compressor.
    Bingo! No more skipped frames.
But now the audio is running at 47.952 kHz, and when I put it into DVDSP, it starts running at 48 kHz, throwing everything out of sync. This happens with both AIFF and AC3's.
Basically, the problem is that I'm slowing down the video by .1%, so now I have to slow the audio down, too.
I tried using both Avid and FCP to slow the audio down by .1%, then re-exporting at 48 kHz, and I also tried laying the audio off to tape, and then digitizing it into a 29.97 project. But when I'd export the audio and put it into DVDSP, it's still a few frames off by the end.
This makes me think that maybe Compressor or Cinema Tools is changing the frame rate to 23.98 instead of a true 23.976 fps. Can anyone confirm or deny?
I'm working on a 90 film, so the sync issues are quite noticeable by the end, and trying a bunch of different things is very time consuming. Any workflow advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for your help!

My iPad under 4.2.1 is working fine, but my iPhone 4 is messed up. After the upgrade, my MobileMe settings were just plain wrong (they were working prior to the upgrade). I had to delete and re-add MobileMe, and now my contacts are not updating on the iPhone. The Calendar was slow, but it did eventually update. I've tried rebooting the device, stopping and starting contact sync through MobileMe, with no luck so far.

  • Avoiding sync issues?

i seemed to have a lot of sync issues in MobileMe and have less but still reasonably frequent issues in iCloud. last week i discovered that i could trash the PLIST for bookmarks on a computer that had old and not recently sorted bookmarks so that when i took this computer off of bookmark sync i could check "Merge" which is the only option to check when re-syncing bookmarks. in the past i had a set of bookmarks on my laptop that were sorted (after spending two hours sorting them) and then after a number of days i found out they weren't syncing to my desktop. after trying all the solutions i would uncheck sync bookmarks on the desktop and then when i re-synced bookmarks my only option was to "Merge" or not re-sync the bookmarks. both options had unhappy results with "Merge" causing me to resort everything again.
long story i know but i am describing this in order to just see if there is anything i can do on my end to avoid these sorts of issues.
in the future i will be manually deleting PLIST files before re-syncing but ideally i would not have to do this at all.
is there anything i can do to avoid this?
currently i am running most recent iOS on the iPhone, Mavericks on the laptop and i can only get up to Mountain Lion on the desktop or i might upgrade to Mavericks on the desktop.
thansk in advance for any help.
i do BTW love my mac hardware and software after moving back from PC.

    Hi Haus,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
Thank you for your message. Regarding your inquiry, yes you can use to headphones in one room but with two different TVs. About the crossover, there is a possibility that the audio signals will cross with each other, that would be the job of the Channel switch on the headphones' transmitter. When you're going to use both headphones try changing the channels and find a better reception.

  • Is it possible to disable MobileMe sync to get ical sync to work?

iPhone to iCal sync worked fine before MobileMe enabled. Is it possible to disable the MobileMe sync until this issue gets resolved? Can't seem to revert the settings now that it is set up. Calendar notes don't copy, events get dropped. MobileMe is not fit for purpose at present.

  • More Aperture/iPad syncing issues

Each time I create a new project or album in Aperture, I have trouble getting the images to the iPad when I sync. I sometimes need to sync several times until the images are recognized and imported to iPad. I do have the albums designated manually, rather than all, which means I have to sync and then sync again after I check the checkbox for the new album. I understand that, but sometimes I have to go back into Aperture to make sure the previews are updated. If I choose to update the previews for a project, Aperture will usually tell me that they're already up to date, but often they will not show up on the iPad, even after I check the appropriate box for the album in iTunes. Sometimes I get good results if I delete the previews and regenerate them in Aperture.
The second problem is the sort order. Even if I have "sort by filename" selected in Aperture, they do not show up in this order on the iPad--despite what the support article says about this. They appear to only show up in Date order. I've tried repeatedly resetting the sort order, but it does not change on the iPad. Sometimes I have to delete the album from the iPad, (uncheck the album in iTunes and sync again), then recheck it and sync yet another time. This does not always work, however.
It is very frustrating. The interface between Aperture and the iPad is very wonky. I often have to sync repeatedly, just to get the photos on the iPad and even then they're usually in the wrong order.
Aperture appears to have two types of previews: "previews" and "sharing previews," but "sharing previews" don't seem to appear in the documentation. I've noticed that, even when Aperture says the previews are up to date, when I exit the program, it will sometimes (but, maddeningly, not always), give the message, "updating sharing previews" before quitting. I cannot figure out how to force this, however. Sometimes opening and closing Aperture several times will cause it to do this, but I can't be sure.
iTunes seems to have its own process in which it "optimizes" images for importing to the iPad. Like Aperture's mysterious "sharing previews," "optimizing" does not show up in the iTunes documentation or help files.
This process either needs to be improved, or at least documented so users can understand how to avoid these problems.

    1. Some people have reported slow syncing with anything but the iPad's own USB cable (e.g. using a US cable from an iPhone/iPod). Try different cables
    2. More work - disable iTunes syncing completely, then re-enable a bit at a time, e.g. one movie at a time, one playlist at a time, one photo album at a time. There are periodic reports of syncing issues caused by a bit of media that's been corrupted, and this (tedious) approach allows you to identify where the problem might be.
    3. If that fails, do a clean restore back to factory settings, then progressively re-enable syncing as above.
    Hope this helps

  • Sync issues after iOS 8 update

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 5S, 64 GB. After updating to iOS8 I got sync issues. "Waiting for changes to be applied" never disappeared. Also the storage usage in iTunes 11.4 is wrong. iTunes said I had 6GB free, when I had in fact 20GB. I restored the phone back to firmware, restored the backup. All was fine until I made setting changes in iTunes what I want to sync. The same issue in iTunes is back again. I already deleted my voice memos as someone recommended in another threat but that didn't help.
Any ideas how I can solve the problem, would be appreciated. Thank you!
