New Nforce Driv

Hi, i can see alot of people are having probelms with the NF4 Boards.
I have a LanParty NF4 UT Ultra-D and a X-FI
Before i installed the latested drivers, when playing games the computer would blue screen and such and while i was in VOIP programs such as ventrilo.
Just wanted to point out, anyone having any probelms with NF4 and the X-FI i reccomend you get the latest NF4 drivers from www.nvidia.com and it fixed all my problems the NF4 drivers were updated 26th of October.
Hope you get it all working

Hi, I have an audigy , and I just looked on the creative website and amazingly there are new drivers available (SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe). Whats new and or improved about these drivers?
I'm currently using the AUD_EAX4DRV_0303.exe drivers with the AUD_WEBUP_PCWDRV_-84-40.exe update. Shall I upgrade?
Is there a driver only install version of these available?
Thanks for all your help

You can perform the "drivers only" install by downloading the file from CT Support, extracting it to your HD and excuting the ctzapxx.exe.
Extract the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe using winrar (or equal software) --> find the file named ctzapxx.exe (SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004\Drivers\support\i386 -folder) and run it.

  • Installing new Nforce drivers?

I'm running the lastest Nforce driver pak from MSI on my K7N420. When the new Nforce drivers from Nvidia come out (Soon I hope) should I be able to install them over the MSI Nforce drivers I'm running now? If not, could someone please tell me an easy way to uninstall old Nforce drivers, MSI or Nvidia.
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply. One more quick queston. I'm running an Gf4 add in card so removing the Nvidia display drivers in Add/Remove does the video drivers, I know this one. What listing in Add/Remove removes the Nforce drivers?

  • NForce Driver Installation Procedure

What are the official steps to installing new nForce drivers?  I have read everything from install over the existing drivers to uninstall the existing drivers --> boot into safe mode --> Uninstall the NVidia Video drivers --> Use Drive Cleaner to wipe everything out (nForce and ForceWare related) --> boot into normal mode and install new nForce drivers --> reboot and install new ForceWare (video) drivers.
Which way is correct or is there another 'preferred' way?
    Thanks gang,
    Jopopsy

There really shouldn't be any need to uninstall drivers before updating them.
The whole idea of an install is that it should take care of this for you. I generally just run the setup and let it run through, followed by a reboot, and have never had any problems. Why make things more difficult for yourself?

  • New IDE Driver

Has anyone tried the latest IDE driver v3.40 found in the v2.41 nForce driver pack?
It leads to the Secondary Slave device, a CD-RW drive, not being recognised in Win XP. I can Roll Back to the previous IDE driver in the v2.03 nForce driver pack and it recognises it again.
Does anyone else have a problem on a slave device while using the new IDE driver???

When the Nvidia sw ide driver is installed several games fail to start up.Moto racer 3 for one that ive found myself.Had to roll back to be able to game.Seems lots of folks are having issues with several other games. ;(See here:  http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17580

    Spray,
Just by the very nature of a CD, it makes it useless.
The Hardware Manufacturer gets the Drivers from the Chipset Manufacturer and then edits them to add their logo etc. Then they put the Drivers on a CD. Then they package it with the hardware. Then it is sent to a distributer where they warehouse it until it is sent to a reseller. Then finally the reseller has it in the shelf until you come in and buy it.
Those Drivers are anywhere from 6 month to 1 year or more old.
As I look at it, even the software on the Manufacturer's website is out of date.
If you want Drivers, you go right to the Chipset Manufacturer.
    Take Care,
    Richard
P.S. Just remember, just because a piece of Hardware or Software is new to you, it does not mean it is New! It could have been on the shelf for years.

  • Help with new Hard drive Please!!

    HI
I have a K8n Neo that i have been running fine with a 80GB edie hard drive that has been running fine for the last 3 months.
But i decided to upgrade to a SATA hard drive ( Samsung 160gb spinpoint )
So i fitted the hard drive connected all ok!
But when i try to load windows xp pro i get a error!
    It says:-
An error occurred while setup was updating partition information on:
131070 mb disk0 at id0 on bus0 on atapi [MBR] set-up cannot continue??
I do not think it can be the hard drive as this is the secound one that i have tried!
Can someone PLEASE help me before i go MAD!!
    Lots of thanks
    Numpty 69

    numpty,
the following steps helped me to seamlessly migrate from IDE to a 160 GB SATA Maxtor.
First of all I hope you still have your old IDE HD set-up as a bootable device with OS installed. Unplug your SATA drive and revert to your old PATA drive as boot.
Second,  shut down your computer, plug in your new SATA drive and follow this thread for single SATA drive set-up Single SATA or Multiple Drive Array Setup FAQ
save and exit BIOS, re-boot and enter BIOS again. You should now see your SATA drive in the boot order.
Except: I do not see from your specs whether you run XP with SP2. If not, you ran into the issue of the 128 GB limit and XP will not recognize your drive.
Do not set it as boot yet. For me, it even worked out to turn off SATA RAID again.
Third, boot OS from PATA drive. XP should now recognize your new SATA drive and start installing the SATA drivers (I used the nForce 5.10 and had no issues). Re-boot into OS, you should now see all drives with proper drivers installed in the hardware tab.
Fourth, get yourself a HD cloning tool. I used True Image 8.0 but there should be enough freeware cloning tools around, maybe even from the HD manufacturer itself and clone your old PATA drive to the new SATA.
Fifth, re-boot into BIOS and set the SATA drive as boot now. Save and exit BIOS, re-boot and XP should now be starting from the SATA drive.
Hope it works, I keep my fingers crossed

  • Have Old Hard drive and want to move old data onto new hard drive in imac.

I am trying to get my files off of an old hard drive. I have it hooked up through a sata drive. I am able to access all the programs but for whatever reason I am unable to access any of the files, i.e- 1,00's of pictures, videos, music, and documents. Is there something else I need to do in order to get the files, or is it possible that all the programs could still be on it but the files are just missing? In the current Sata it only has two plugs but on my hard drive it looks like there is another place to plug something in.

    Hello again Shadow,
The way I do this is to:
    1) Install your new hard drive into your iBook
    2) Get your iBook reassembeled
    3) Place your old hard drive in your firewire enclosure
    4) Insert your install DVD into your iBook and restart with the C key held down. When the installer launches, select your language in the first pane, click 'continue' and in the upper dropdown menu in the next page select Utilities > Disk Utility. After DU is open, select your hard drive from the list of volumes on the left (the very top one), and then click the 'Partition' tab to the right. Then select 1 partition (normal) and make sure that you have 'Mac OS Extended (journled)' selected in the lower section. Then click 'partition'
5)Quit disc utility, which brings you back to the installer. continue with your installation of OS X. In one of the first steps you will see a button on the lower left which says 'options' click on that and make sure that the option 'Installs OS X for the first time' is selected. It will normally be selected by default with a new drive.
    6) After the installation, the Migration Assistant will ask if you would like to transfer your information from another mac. click yes then follow the instructions. but instead of using another mac, connect a firewire cable from your enclosure with your old hard drive installed. The installer will think that this is another mac and will transfer all of your account information and user files (everything!)from your old drive to your iBook's new drive. Just diconnect when it says to and complete the installation sequence.
    You're done!
Check back again if anything is unclear.

  • New Hard Drive

After installing Leopard on my new hard drive (Western Digital Caviar Blue) I used Migration Assistant to transfer everything from the original hard drive that was still in the computer. It ran into some issues with 2 iTunes music files and transfer stopped. So I selected the option of continuing to set up. Not sure if I messed up there. After that was complete I trashed the files in question and ran Migration Assistant again, but it completely skipped iTunes and went onto Applications, where once again it ran into problems with Application Support Files from Adobe/InDesign Templates, etc.
Now I'm not sure what to do. The new HD is the 10.5.6 version (didn't run Software Update because I assumed Migration would automatically update everything) and of course the original HD is the 10.5.8. Should I run Software Update first on that followed by Repair Permissions then attempt to transfer everything again? Or should I start from scratch - erase and reinstall then run Migration again?
Also, with having a very large iTunes library is this the best way to transfer those files?
    Thanks!

    Hi-
Sorry, I may have been a bit obscure....
To be precise, one should boot to the OS X install disc and use Disk Utility to repair the original hard drive and permissions.
You can't repair the boot drive while started to it.
Permissions, yes, but not directory repair.
After that, restart to the usual boot drive, download and install SD!, let SD! do it's thing.
SD! will erase the target drive for the new clone, so using Disk Utility again isn't necessary.
Once SD! is done, you can open System Preferences/Startup drive, and select the new clone as Startup volume.
Restart, and check that all is as it should be (there is no reason that it shouldn't, but DO check).
Once the clone has been verified for function and content, you're all done.
A full clone of a large drive can take a while, so don't do this when you're in a rush.
Maybe start SuperDuper! and go have dinner or something......

  • Have found multiple iTunes Library.xml files. Moved Library to new Hard Drive and it needs to be completely rebuilt?

Hello. I have a Mac Mini operating Mac OS X 10.7.2. I recently had to move my iTunes Library to a new hard drive. I followed the directions on how to move the library and refind everything yet when I do so what comes up is a mere skeleton of what I had. I have had to hunt down my purchased Apps, Music and Movies and re-add them to the library. I also noticed in doing this I have multiple iTunes Library.xml files ... shouldn't there only be one?  If so how do I clean this up without doing any accidental damage (i.e. how do I find the one that is being used and delete the rest?)?  If I delete the others is there any risk of losing purchased content? Lastly syncing my iPads has become a nightmare as I get the "This iPad is currently synced to another iTunes library" message. Obviously something

It's hard for me to picture the exact situation. It sounds like you still have your library file on the internal but some files on the external, and maybe some on the internal, some of which are in the library and others not...  By re-adding things after consolidating it may have made things into a hodge-podge. Yes, that article you referenced says: "iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder"with Media Folder being the emphasis.  You probably should have just moved your whole iTunes folder.  Still, moving the media folder as instructed should not have messed up the library.  Did you make the mistake of starting up iTunes before the external drive had mounted fully and it then told you it couldn't find many files?  How you proceed to sort it out will depend upon how much time you want to spend and how important things such as ratings and playcount are to you.  I have not actually used the consolidate feature across different drives myself (and don't feel inclined to do so here to test ).
If you are in the USA you can download some previous purhcases with iCloud, but not all.
Here's a bit on what an iTunes folder should look like:
What are the iTunes library files? - [http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660]
More on iTunes library files and what they do - [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITunes#Media_management]
Library files with graphic and explanation of different iTunes versions - http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=13169517
Once you get iTunes working off the external drive it should just put new media to the external when you add it.
I have almost no experience with synching (I synched my neice's iPod, once, about 4 years ago).

  • How can I restore my iPod touch data to a new hard drive when the old one crashed

My computer crashed and I want to put the contents of my iPod Touch back on the new hard drive. How do I do this without accidentally Syncing and copying over my data? The vast majorioty of the music on my iPod is my own from DCs I own.

You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabilng the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Next, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials.
If possible, either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.  To do this, right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software availbable to assist you with this task.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

  • Suggestion for a new Hard Drive?

I'm thinking about replacing the 250GB hard drive that came with my G5 with a larger one. I'll relegate the old one to backup duties and the new one will end up being my new media drive. (Currently, I'm running my OS off a 150GB Raptor via a SATA card.)
I'd like to know what you'd suggest as a good 500MB-750MB drive to replace the existing one? I'm plan on using as a media / backup drive (for when the new OS comes out). I'd like one that's not too noisy, however. At one point I got a 320MB Western Digital that I ended up relegating to offline backup due to the whining noise it made when operating. It was noisy enough I could easily hear it above my computer's fans. I'd like something that isn't particularly noisy since it will be operating at all times.

WD would be my choice. Either 500GB or 750GB. And by the looks of it, the 750 is an excellent drive for replacing the (loud) 10K Raptor. I've noticed that Raptor bought couple months ago is much quieter than one from a year ago.
I have 3 x Caviar SE16 500GB, 2 x 320GB RE series, and 2 x 160GB RE as well. Along with a couple 10K Raptors and 3 x MaxLine Pro. The ML Pro run warm-ish and make more noise than Caviar.
Samsung 500GB would be quiet too.

  • Data migration from rescued drive to new internal drive

Need assistance! I recently experienced a hard drive failure on my MacBook (OS 10.5). Apple replaced my hard drive with a new one (running 10.6), and a data recovery company was able to resuce the data from my failed drive; they put it all on an external drive. I then used migration assistant to get my old data back onto the new drive. The problem is that my old home folder was encrypted with File Vault, so that data would not transfer -- i.e., my photos, music, bookmarks, old emails, etc.
I've tried booting up from the external drive, but no dice. The laptop sees the drive and looks like it attempts to start up from it, but it just keeps spinning. Are there any other tricks to access my old home folder in order to turn off File Vault so that I may transfer that data onto my new hard drive?

I tried it and i got the runtime error with "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"
When I tried a part of options, that is no problem at all. However, when i select all options, the memory usage is increase and then the error will be returned.
The server is Win2003 with 4GB memory.
