New to Verizon and 50 monthly prepay plan

Okay, I understand when the next payment for prepay is the 16th of Dec. BUT, I don't understand when on "My Verizon" it says next payment due 2/16/12?  I have a balance in my account to cover next months prepay plan.  Also, will they take it out automatically from my account balance?   I've read and just don't understand the 2/16/12 expiration?   Thanks in advance.

As I understand it with prepay when you purchase funds for your account, those funds expire after a certain time period, unless you add more funds to your balance. Your expiration date is then pushed back a certain amount of time depending on the amount of funds you have deposited. The more money you deposit into your account, the more time you have before it expires. Any money still in your account after the expiration date would be forfeited.
Edit:
$15-$29.99 expires in 30 days
$75-$99.99 expires in 180 days
$30-$74.99 expires in 90 days
$100 or more expires in ONE YEAR!

  • New to Verizon and Confused by Options

    Hi,
I am brand new to Verizon Wireless and LOVE the improved coverage and reception that I get over my old carrier.
I know these terms are probably covered somewhere else but I haven't found a clear explanation of what some of the features are and if they involve extra charges.  I am wondering if someone can help. I have a family shared plan for voice and the standard data plan for my new Samsung Fascinate (which I love too ... even compared to my previous phone, the Nexus One.)
    V Cast
    Get It Now
    VZ Navigator
    Visual Voice Mail
    NFL Mobile
    3G Mobile Hotspot
I am not sure if there are other services (either free or requiring an extra charge) that I am just unaware of yet or not.  Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bill in Woodstock, Georgia, USA

  • Day 11 of 14, New too Verizon and the new Thunderbolt, do we keep it or send it back?

I have had a number of surprises so far after coming to Verizon with the new Thunderbolt.. We ordered 2 bolts. The battery issue was disappointing, but a bigger battery will fix it, and/or a daily charge seems to take care of it.
I live in the country on fridge of the city, my wife came from provider Sprint, and I came from AT&T.  We never had problems with our prior carriers, but must be out of range for the Verizon tower due to the bad signal and sound quality when making calls from the house.  Verizon suggested a network extender, so we had them send us one.  It did fix the signal and the noise problems at home.  Plus can take with us on the road,, guess this problem is fixed too.
My wife's Bolt had static and noise in any area, 3G or 4G.  Mine has been great.  I called Verizon they said to take it to a Verizon store for an exchange.  I bought the phone online with Verizon, but the brick and mortar stores said they could not do it, I complained and did get them to change out the wife's Bolt.  The replacement serial and mac address was several thousand letters and numbers higher, so expect her phone was built early, but the new replacement is quiet, no noise problem solved.
The 4G is very fast, speetest.net I was surprised how fast it is.  I love the phone, but I worry with all the issues people keep finding, and I really have not seen any official Verizon communications on what is actual and what might be in progress to fix for good.  Forums are great, but does Verizon read these posts?
I am on day 11 of 14.  First timer to Verizon, Thunderbolts aside, do you like them as a wireless carrier?  Thunderbolt's, we like them very much, but I now wonder if maybe insurance is a good idea, seems like we may have many issues in the future too.  I was on the build team for the HP Glisten, we had many issues on our first phones too, but eventually got it fixed too, in fact the prototype I still had when I left AT&T to come to Verizon.  I think we are going to give the phones a couple more days of heavy workout, and then decide.

So far so good, a few hiccups but Verizon has supported me so far on each issue.  Some responders from the support line where not as good as others, but I did find several who were more than helpful.  The forums here are helpful too, aggravation does make some of the posts bias against the phone, but there are some good posts out there and the solution found posts will help us all.
Everyone who owns a Thunderbolt just needs a little patience, it is a new and powerful device.  I'm sure HTC and Verizon are working out the confirmed bugs, and will roll out confirmed updates when they have gathered more data. When I was prototyping the obsidian, which we marketed as the glisten, we had many issues too, but in the end worked most of them out.
The thunderbolt should also follow same result as long as Verizon and HTC keep it in the front line, so far they are still marketing it, even with having the Iphone now in their portfolio. I viewed a wirefly.com smackdown between the Thunderbolt and the new Iphone, and to me, I do like the Thunderbolt best.  On to day 12, so far so good.

  • I am new to Verizon and cannot send pic msgs to Att

I Am trying to send important Daily pics to ATT phones and none of them are getting the pics;Only others people w/ different Carriers. I didn't have this issue w/ last provider and I work tech support, so I know it's not a device issue.

If they are important to you, as you've stated, you may want to call Verizon directly. By any chance, did you port from AT&T to Verizon Wireless?

  • New to verizon and droid

i just bought the new galaxy nexus yesterday and was browsing around the market but there are waaaayyyy too many apps to see each one so i was wondering if there were some apps that were pretty much a must have?

for me Gesture Search is one I use each and everyday. Easy way to search through contacts, apps, music, or ****** near anything you might want to search for.  https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.apps.gesturesearch
also if you are into weather widgets I love this one. I have tried out a dozen or so and BeWeather is my favorite.

There are a few sites that do app reviews. I recommend checking out Android Central.

  • Looking for a reason to stay with Verizon as my monthly plan cost has increased dramatically in the past year. Forced to change plan at last upgrade, and lines that used to be $10/mo are now $30/mo.  I cannot afford this any longer.

When I last upgraded, I was told that my current plan (unlimited data was no longer an option) was obsolete.  I had to go with the family plan and choose a data plan.  Also, the non-smartphones on the account are now $30/mo rather than $10 as they used to be.  The cost of service has increased dramatically in the last 18 months.  Why, when other services are offering unlimited data and less expensive monthly lines, does Verizon not offer this to at the very least, long-time, loyal customers?

RC like myself do not work for Verizon wireless.
    We are customers like yourself.
However his reply was 100% spot on. You may not like his answer but not liking it does not change the accuracy of it.
If you purchased at full price the unlimited data would have stayed.
But when people say upgrade they normally mean a free phone or greatly reduced phone with a two year contract.
The plan change was not necessary unless you purchased smart phones. If you were buying clam shell basic phones only then no plan changes should have been done.
You had 14 days to back out of the deal. Because you did not do so does not mean Verizon did not explain all your options.
You can port out and have Sprint or T-Mobile refund your early termination fees. I read this morning AT&T is also doing this on a limited basis.
Or you can go to Boost mobile or Net10 or Cricket prepaid all you can eat unlimited talk, text and data.
Also look at consumer cellular they may be just what you need.
They range from $10 to $50 check them out.
    Good Luck

  • Ok so I was talked into switching to a new iphone 5 and loosing my current grandfathered unlimited data on my Iphone 4 and being talked into using the share everything plan.

So I switched to a share everything plan based on the recommendations of a sales rep.  he told me I was using less than 2 gigs of data on my phone. So I upgrade my phone and switch plans.  my biggest complaint is I asked how much for each line and I was told about the smart phones and then I have a non smart phone that I am now being charged $30 per month for.  This phone uses no data and maybe sends a text message about once every month.  I was paying $9.99 for the phone previously.  And somehow I used more than 10 gb of data, when the rep did the analysis he said 8 was ideal.  Last month I had an overage of $45 dollars and went over 10 GB.   Not sure how any of this is better Verizon.   I upgraded to the 10 GB of data plan for more money thinking it was going to take care of the problem, but 7 days before my billing cycle was over.  I turned off my hotspot completely and told my husband he could only text and use the phone for calls.  no internet or apps. I did the same. I don't understand how we could possibly be using so much more data now we have switched to this new share everything plan.  Now what is frustrating is I can't even look up my bill and its 3 days after my billing cycle. I want to know if I am going to have another overage because of the tracking usage issue.  What gives Verizon?   You used to be so good.  I have been a customer with this company before it was Verizon and stayed because I have never had a problem.  Speaking of the non smart phone I am now paying an arm and a leg for...  that phone where its located in the state didn't have service for almost 3 days.  They said lightning hit a tower but it was fixed.  Crappy job of fixing in my opinion.  Do I get a rebate for the 3 days of no service and the sketchy service before that?   Man This makes me so frustrated.  I want to pay the outrageous cancellation fee and just be without internet and get a pay as you go phone from Walmart.  Come on Verizon step up your game.  Are you really getting to big to care about giving your customers good plans for a decent price?

You have fallen for the great Verizon Wireless Lie, most customers don't use over 2Gb and its a better plan, and unlimited is unsustainable yada yada yada.
However your choices were getting new devices for cheap so if you paid full price for your device at $700 each, you would have kept unlimited and paid no $30 upgrade fee. Per line.
Now add up the additional cost of that data usage and it is way over the cost of what paying full price would have cost you.
and being in a contract with an early termination fee it all adds up.
Verizon claims unlimited data is unsustainable, but you can see its sustainable only when you get charged mucho bucks in $10-$15 overages per GB.
    Good Luck

  • Double charge full month of Family Plan which only used for 7 days  and full month of individual plan

I changed from Family Plan to Individual Plan and I got only refund back $9.99 for one line that stay with Verizon but I got charged double both Family Plan and Individual Plan for full month without any credits for 23 days of unused Family Plan. ($120-discount Family Plan + $39.99-discount Individual Plan) per 1 month (from 06/07 to 07/06).
I am asking the credit of unused 23 days of Family Plan back into my account when I changed from Family plan to Individual plan then I got the answer like this which I do not agree at all.
"As the previous rep stated since the numbers were ported out the bill continued to bill until the end of the current bill cycle. This is the reason why there was no credit issued for the first month in advance. Had the numbers not been ported, and instead disconnected, there would have been a refund issued for any unused portion of the service"
I never saw any clause saying that porting numbers would not get credit issued for any unused portion of the month billed in advance.
I expected refund 23 days credit of the Family plan from 06/06 to 07/06 back to my account since the family plan supposed to be disconnected on 06/07 but because of porting time schedule from other carrier so that all 4 lines completely disconnected the service 1 week later which is on 06/13/2012 and only 1 line(my current number) left as individual plan as it planned originally 06/07.
Family Plan with corporate discount: $120-$16 cisco discount/month------> each day is: $104/30 days= $3.46/day
                       23 days unused of Family Plan is : $3.46 x 23= $79.58
I still expect missing credits into my account: $79.58-$9.99= $69.59.
At the least if you want to take away the $16 discount for the last month of Family plan, then you still owe me the refund of ($69.59-$16)= $53.59

You left out the next important sentence ..... If it is your intention to fool all other members, please correct it.
This is the path for the whole thing:"Customer Agreement"
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/support/customer-agreement
I am not a Prepaid customer and I will be entitled to a refund of unused charge from an advanced month charge. Any cancellation should honor that..I called the customer representative to ask in advance what happened when I plan to keep only one line and change to individual plan ,she assured me that I will get credits for any unused of Family Plan of the advanced month, the new Individual Plan charge will take over and I would not get double charge at all.
I am the customer with Verizon very long time, more than 5 years and I can not believe that you charged me double like that.
Please return me back my money.
I am NOT trying to fool anyone. As with the sentence you highlighted, if what I highlighted ONLY pertained to prepaid customers, it would have indicated it in the sentence. Since it did not, it DOES NOT. Postpaid customers are NOT mentioned at all within the section about porting numbers. Are you saying since they are not mentioned that postpaid customers CANNOT port their numbers? Didn't think so. The entire paragraph is about ALL Verizon customers EXCEPT the sentence which specifically singles out prepaid customers. You are responsible for all charges until the end of the billing cycle from the point of porting, not from when you asked to be ported. Therefore you are responsible for the charges for the "Family Plan" until the end of the billing cycle.
Unfortunately, you only left ONE phone on the account when you ported out your numbers. Therefore the single line could NOT have been left on a Family Plan, and was therefore migrated to an Individual Plan. AT MOST, you would be entitled to a prorated refund of the $9.99 access fee FOR THAT ONE LINE, since that line was not canceled due to the porting. However, you should ONLY be responsible for Individual Plan charges from the point your single line was migrated until the end of the billing cycle, NOT for an entire month of service. Of course, your bill would show that the following month was being charged, too, since Verizon charges a month in advance.
While Verizon may refund you more money just to placate you, according to the CUSTOMER AGREEMENT, you are not entitled to it.
    Good luck.

  • Prepay plan seems to have morphed into pay per minute and text?

My plan is a $35 per month / 500 min / unl text / unl web on an LG Cosmos 3. My prepay period runs from the 15th to the 15th.
I have been auto paying my $35 and staying below my minutes for the most part. My extra $10 credit has been decreasing bit by bit over a year's time till it has been $2.65 for the last few months - in fact, my usage record shows that it was at $2.65 right up to my Dec 15 auto payment of $35.00..
Using my Verizon usage records online, I just counted my Nov 15 to Dec 15 minutes, and I racked up 510 minutes RIGHT BEFORE my next $35 prepay was deposited. That is an extra $2.50 it would have cost. Why didn't you just use my $2.65 in my account?   Yet now, I noticed that SINCE the $35 was deposited I am being charged for every single call and text as if I am on some other plan.   Is there some fine print in my prepay plan that says when there are overages that use up the account balance that you start charging by the text and the minute from then on, even if you had the funds and then prepayed for the month on time?
Since you have been doing that, from Dec 15 till today (the 21st) you have decreased my balance by subtracting for every call and text from $37.65 (the $2.65 in my account + the $35 prepay) and say I now have "$4.86 left good through 3/15/15." Plus now you say my web use will cost me $0.99 per day!
In your informational videos you say, "check your balance to make sure you have enough to cover your usage."  I knew I was close, so I kept checking my balance, and it was $2.65 right up to my next auto payment. There was no indication that I was using those funds up, and your records don't indicate it either.
My OVERAGE was 10 minutes during the LAST prepayed period.  You are charging me as if my overage is every minute and text of THIS prepay period!
I have been thinking of switching to Cricket, and if this can't get resolved today, I may end up in there store this afternoon.
Thank you for your - up until now - pretty good service.

prepaid is not monthly it's 30 days. That is probably the issue.

  • New Talk, Text and Web prepaid plan question

Evening!   I have a reeeally old Verizon prepaid (FreeUp) account, and an old Verizon Motorola E18 phone.
I also have a current balance of $271.00   If I upgrade to a new phone and the new $50. Talk, Text, and Web monthly prepaid, will I lose my current balance, or will it transfer to my new plan?
    thanks!
    ssandee

As longas you keep your same phone number the balance will be transferred over. Thats the way it is with the Daily Prepaid and also is you transfer over to a contract they will carry the money over on the contract as a credit. No refunds.  You can call customer service to veriify this at 1-888-294-6804

  • Transfer all set prepay plan to new device

I am beyond frustrated - 888-294-6804 phone is absolutely useless. Here I am - bought  and activated new device. Want to transfer all set prepay plan (according to My Verizon it already has). I am getting no where and have wasted an hour. On line support chat cut me off (slow typer). Can ANYONE help me? I'm on the verge of deactivating new phone and putting back old one.
I will appreciate any info - is there any phone # that won't give me the run around ?????

Hello eatmorecheese! I can feel your frustration in your post. I'm so sorry you've had issues getting through to a Prepaid representative. In order to reach a Prepaid Department representative, please call 888-294-6804. When prompted, enter your prepaid phone number. Then press 4, 5, 4 and enter the pass code for your account.  If you do not know the pass code, enter in four zeros.  Then the system will then transfer you to a Prepaid representative.
    Thanks!

  • Cosmos VN250:  7770000001 data message from verizon wrecked my phone.  I have an old plan that Verizon really wants to end.  Even though I have data messages blocked, this number was sent to my phone by Verizon and while trying to receive it, it broke.

Has anyone had any kind of issue with their phone breaking after getting a message from Verizon, thereby requiring them to get a new phone, and hence, a new plan, that will be more expensive?  I have an old plan, the Singlerate West 300 that they have been trying to get me off of for years.  It's a great deal.  Yesterday, after coming back into the country, my phone started to retrieve a message from 7770000001, which I found online is from VCAST/Verizon, and while trying to retrieve it, the screen suddenly failed so that now only the top quarter of the screen is visible, making it impossible to text or see contacts.  I've been working on it on-line and with Verizon all day and my only options will all lead to me getting a new plan that is more expensive, even if I replace it with the same phone.  New rule - you can't renew an old plan if it's not currently being offered.  Is Verizon sending out software that can ruin a phone requiring a new one, with a new plan that's more expensive?

  • Will be International for 5 months and want to remove plan for this time

I will be studying in Austria for an extended period of time and would like to bring my iphone5, but not use any sort of plan with it (I'll just use wifi and as a camera). Right now I have a contract for several years (unlimited talk, text, and 2GB data) and pay $60 a month for it. There are two other phones on my account. I was wondering if I could just remove my phone for these months (and not pay for a service I wouldn't even be using) and then resume my plan when I return in July.

You can't "remove" your phone for this time without paying the ETF since you are under contract.
Verizon allows you to "suspend" service without billing for 90 days at a time. Once the 90 days is up, your service will automatically restart. Once it restarts, you can go back in and suspend it again. Verizon allows you to do this twice in a year for a total of up to 180 days in a year. Unfortunately, with the service automatically restarting again after 90 days, you will most likely have 1 month of service for which to pay.
While in Austria, you should be able to simply remove your Verizon SIM card and insert a SIM card from a local provider to get service thru them.

I feel that Verizon has conducted and treated a long time customer in a predatory manner just to make a few dollars. I added a hotspot feature on my Iphone and its called a plan change. I wanted 1 gig and ended up with 4 gigs. If 1 gig was not available I was not informed. Plus the charge for the convertion to a new plan. I called today and I cancelled the plan so I 'm being charged another fee for the plan change. I have really enjoyed working with Verizon but I will have to start looking for another provider.

... I was clear that I was not interested in the Edge plan if I could not get the upgrade pricing.  Several times I made this clear.
Then the employees, and you, don't understand EDGE.  It's not a service plan, it's a PAYMENT option to pay the full price of the phone in installments, and have no "contract" or obligation  to stay with Verizon once the phone is paid for, which you can do at any time.  So if you were trying to get discounted pricing, and the reps were talking EDGE, you were talking at cross purposes....
In order to get the upgrade pricing, you need to sign a contract for 2 years of service, and agree to an ETF if you leave Verizon before the two years.
