Hi sum_raj,
sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Nokia device. I too had to go back three times and they sent off the phone twice, when i had problems with my N8. They kept maintaining that they couldn't do anything but i pushed and pushed and eventually received a replacement handset.
In this case you Will have to contact Nokia and submit your phone for repair through the official Nokia Care channels, and be persistent.
Hope this helps.

  • Beware of the Nokia 6120c. Faulty product

This is my sad story with the Nokia 6120c.
First of all let me explain that I´m not a Symbian newcomer, 6120c has been my third Symbian s60, so I´m pretty familiar with such toys.
I bought my 6120 classic for christmas, because the feature set and the weight seemed impressive for the price point ( arround 250 euro ).
My first impression was that althoutgh the mobile was fast and nice, the build quality was worse than my previous S60s (N70 and n-gage). This was specially evident in some plastic pieces: The battery cover was like 1mm loose in all directions and the plastic cover for the loudspeaker was a little weak also... But anyway I was pretty satisfied of my purchase.
After a couple of days the phone started to have random problems with the sound. The mobile vibrated but no sound appear from the loudspeaker neither from
the earpiece. The phone was not even able to reproduce sounds even in the music player or in the modes screen. The only way to recover It was to turn on and off the phone. And no! the phone was not in silent mode After searching on google I was able to find that it was not an isolated case, the net is full of such reports, References:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=phones&thread.id=24666&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=phones&message.id=32238
This is such annoying failure because you loose calls as you can not hear the caller, you need to reboot the phone and call later...
After 4 or 5 incidents in two weeks I started look for a new firmware after noticing that there was no new firmware in NSU. The only thing that I was able to find was that there was a new version 4.21 that appeared on early December but was pulled in a hurry from the NSU servers after 3 or 4 days ( I'm myself a firmware engineer and I know what this means ... ).
    Reference:
    /discussions/board/message?board.id=swupdate&thread.id=19348&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
Last Monday January 7th tired of problems I returned to the shop and after explaining the story, the shop manager give me a new one. The funny thing was that he asked me if my Sim card was old. He claimed that the phone had problems with old sim cards... After googling a little i was able to find some references to that in Italian forums...
It seems that in Italy they are quite happy with the product...
The new phone had also problems with plastic pieces, again the loose battery cover and now the memory card door was loose and produced a rattling noise on vibration... Again I could accept that, I wanted the mobile.
After a week the phone has done the same than the previous one several times, today... 3 times!
Again I have checked for new firmware but the only thing that I have found is that Nokia has even pulled the support of 6120c from NSU. Hey this guys are having a real problem...
Not knowing what to do I have decided to give Nokia a late chance and call the care line in Spain +34 902404414 to contact an operator and ask if the issue was known and Nokia was doing something. The guy seemed to know nothing, and was absolutely uninterested, the only answer was go to the care point and install new firmware. On my question of if there was a new firmware he answered that he did not know... He was unable to log a case to any escalation team, he said to me to send an email throught the web...
Tomorrow I´m back to the shop to have a refund... I do not want another unit. I´m totally dissapointed. Nokia you have lost a good customer, a fan...
    For your info
Both mobiles were 6120c-1 rm-243 Firmware 3.83 B1.04, the sim is a brand new one from the spanish operator Yoigo and I am using a sandisk sd micro of 2GB.

My 6120 doesn't have gaps or anything - I mean, that it's built okay. But, after a month of owning it, my navi key broke in half. That's kinda like...impossible. It didn't fall or anything, just regular using. It was replaced by the warranty, but that's still odd.
Overally I am also quite satisfied with the phone, especially for it's looks.
Anyway, now I have a new problem. Java applications run slow. For example even city blocks doesn't run smoothly. It has the newest (4.21) firmware.

  • Nokia stands by their product !

I am a new Nokia mobile phone owner. I have a three year contract with Rogers I began my contract with an LG slider. For unexplained reasons the screen broke although it was in a protective case and had a screen protector on it. I must say that I am truely not happy with the service I got from LG the cost of repair and having it sent back to me was the same cost that I would have paid for the phone if I was not on contract $200 canadian !!! Good greif !! Not a cost that I had at the time to pay so I told them to keep it or trash it do whatever with it-at this time they proceeded to tell me that I had to pay them $25 to trash the phone. I was not impressed.
So in search of another phone that would be compatible with the Rogers SIM card I went and came upon the Nokia 2680.  I dont know what happened but the phone just shut off and would not turn back on.  I called Nokia and they asked questions and done some troubleshooting methods.  My problem unresolved, they are honoring thier product and have asked me to send it back for repairs.
I can say I am happy that a company, Nokia, stands by their product and is their to please their customer. I will be looking forward to updating my phone to a Nokia brand sometime in the future my 2680 will do me for now, i see a N86 or N97 in my future.
    Way to go Nokia!!!!!

    1. The LG phone you were reffering to probably would have cost you at least $400+ ro buy outright without a contract and since a broken screen is not a manufacturing or design defect there is no reason why is should have been covered by warranty.
    2.  I wouldn't really a company like Nokia fixing your phone under warranty outstanding customer service.  The phone had a problem, it was NOT due to physical damage as your LG was so it is just proper everyday way of doing business and I would expect no less from any company.
    3. I have been a HUGE fan of all Nokia products since my first Nokia 2128 in 1994 and have owned no other brands since then.  You mentioned a N86 or N97 possible in your future.  Go with the N86, the N97 is absolute garbage and Nokia WILL NOT stand behind this product.  Search this forum if you want to see the endless list of complants that mostly have to do with the hugely underpowered processor, insufficient amount of available memory (RAM) and the terribly buggy firmware (operating system)  I contacted Nokia about this phone, explained to them that i was a loyal customer who has owned 13 previous Nokia phones that I was completely happy with and then expressed my disappointment with the N97.  The only answer they could give me was to send the phone in for repair and that N97 customers have "preffered service" which means they pay for shipping both ways instead of 1 way.  I am sure the reason for the preffered treatment is because Npokia is aware of all of the issues this phone has and it is a tiny attempt to calm the masses about what a terrible phone this is. I bought my phone directly from Nokia USA but am currently working on a project in Canada which will have me here for 2 more years.  I asked them about the shipping and they said I have to bay for shipping BOTH WAYS and there were no exceptions.  I explained that I am not the only one haveing a lot of issues with this phone and they could look on this site if they want proof and the answer I got was "those are all users in Canada and this phone is not designed for use in Canada"  ???? **bleep**???  It is a GSM phone with world wide coverage AND it is sold by Bell Mobility in Canada!  I explained that sending it in for repair will not fix anything because the problem is inherent to the phone, not specific to my particular phone and requested that they at least pay for shipping back to me and I would pay the shipping to the service center.  The answer was NO.
Nokia has no regard for a loyal customer.  They sell phones world wide but do not have an international warranty.  They wil sell you a phone that will work in almost any country in the world, but they will only service it in the country you bought it in.  I was told that if I sent it in to the Canadian service depot they would not service it because "they would not even know  how to fix it"  Why?  This phone is sold in Canada, they certainly should know how to service it.  If you buy a laptop from most companies they have an international warranty because they know you are likely to travel with your laptop, surely Nokia must know that their customers will travel with their phones, why else would they put in international frequencies when they could get away with only the local ones and the phone would work where it is sold.
So trust me Nokia are no angels when it comes to customer service, they are just a huge company that will sell you their most expensive phone, and an extended warranty but not care much beyond standard warranty issues.  They will not even provide a loaner even though they are aware that the product is a LEMON!.  If the N97 were a car it would have been recalled months ago.
I WILL be sendin my N97 in for repair as soon as I purchase a suitable Android based phone or possibly the 4th generation iPhone, but NEVER another Nokia phone.  I am probably even going to get rid of my collection of almost every Nokia i have ever purchased, i am that disappointed with their service.

  • Repeatedly being sold faulty products from HP

    Hi HP representatives,
I had bought a HP Envy X2 on 31st May. The details of the product are provided below:
Serial Number [edited Serial Number] & Product Number C8C95PA
Within a day, I found out that the product is faulty, the battery in the base would not charge no matter what I did!!
I raised a complaint (complaint#edited complaint number) and was issued a DOA (dead on arrival) status for the product. So I took the DOA and got on to get it replaced.
For this I travelled across the Bangalore city, on 7th June, in the awesome heat and infinite traffic and finally got the new unit from Devraj Infotech in Gandhinagar, Bangalore (the retailers who sold me before).
The details of new unit are provided below.
Product number C8C95P & Serial number {edited Serial Number]
But lo, while I was in the store I found out that the new unit too had the same problem!! The battery in the base would not charge (the same problem as before)!!
So, I called up the HP service center from the dealers shop itself (complaint # complaint number edited). They (the HP Service center folks) said me it is IMPOSSIBLE that the second time the product will be faulty. Also, the retailer would not replace the faulty product there and then (SINCE THE SEAL HAD BEEN BROKEN AFTERALL!!). Instead I was asked to get it diagnosed from service engineers from HP.
The service engineers from Maha Electronics, based in Indiranagar, come to diagnose the laptop and found the same problem and were again unable to rectify the problem.
I GOT A NEW DOA AGAIN!!! Yippeeeeee
I am again instructed to collect the DOA and then run to the dealer’s shop and then collect the product in a week, else the DOA will not be valid.
    My Question to you
WHY ARE YOU SELLING ME FAULTY PRODUCT AGAIN AND AGAIN? (Any bad karma of mine that you know about??)
    Don't i have a life to live?
Should i only spend my weekend running to your store for replacement, now that i have bought a product from you?
Could you for once brave the awesome summer heat and the endless, friendly traffic of Bangalore, spending the money on gasoline as I have (TWICE) and give me a unit that works…  (Do let me know what the experience is like)
What actions will you take if the third unit too is also a faulty one? Does it mean I HAVE TO RUN ACROSS THE CITY ONE MORE TIME!!
But, I thank you for helping me improve my health (by running across the town) and increase my nation's GDP by spending my cash on useless travel (After all my cash is not important)
I had been a fan of HP and thank you for making me realize, the hard way, that it is also about undergoing an awesome product and service experience
I thank you for the valuable lessons in chicanery.
    I FEEL ENLIGHTENED NOW!!
I am probably planning to go and visit the store again and roar again under the blazing summer heat with fewer dimes in my pocket and less time to spend for myself!!
    Thank you & <3

    Greetings!!!
I went to the store and to my delight I was handed the third defective product. A HATRICK!!
I like Lana Del Rey have managed to find my "SUMMER TIME SADNESS"
After I called up the customer service once again (from the store itself), I was informed that
This is a rare scenario!! (BUT NOT FOR ME). In my life's sample space I obtained 100% defective product from you
Guarantee of providing a well working product can never be given
Reimbursement of money, i paid for the product, is in oblivion
I will never know if any actions will be taken for the 3X glitches i faced ( Some new protocols have been initiated which are confidential)
The vendor said me that he would take care of the new complaint and get a DOA certificate. Also, with the vendor's support I got the HP Pavillion X2 (Since, i did not want to lose out on the money i paid before and did not know if HP would pay me back so that i could walk back home with the money i spent).
A good friend of mine now says me "I run more than my computer"
I am praying to God that this time the new computer works ceaselessly...

  • MacBook Pro 15" (late 2008) seems dead. Faulty product?

    Hello,
I am actually not very happy right now. My MBP died yesterday morning. I closed the lid the night before, like I have been doing for 1,5 years, and the next day, I opened it and it stayed black. I heard the HDD boot up, I even added a CD to test if my keyboard was still reacting. Nothing seemed more true.
That's where the problem started. I was (and am still) getting annoyed with this. Since I'm quite sure Apple laptops, with or without warranty, should survive 1,5 years of normal yet intensive use. I think we're dealing with a faulty product here. Apple's procedures, which I am happily following, require an investigation which seem to cost me 80 euros. I've called with Apple Support and they promised me a free investigation (probably just to tell me that the Logic board is dead, which costs 800 euros if I'm correct...). Today, I tried to bring it to a service point but was told that they couldn't promise me that the research would be free... So I kept the laptop, I'm not willing to take that risk just now, and called back. Angry.
Now I have been postponed to monday, because the supervisor wasn't there.
What's your take on this? I do not feel I am being treated correctly. Anyone have any pointers or experiences that kind of match this? How did you solve this? Talk please.
    Yours faithfully,
    Bjorn Schijff

eww, I'd very nearly classify my MBP as 1.5 years old. I got it in early November 2008, very close to 16 months ago. In fact, I think it will be 16 months ago tomorrow.
Anyway, I think it's likely that our poster here may have a unibody MBP. Bjorn, does your MBP look like the ones at http://www.apple.com/macbookpro ? Or does it have an all-silver keyboard?
If it does not look like the current generation, then you have an older, non-unibody MBP. In that case, your problem may be covered under the special circumstances surrounding the 8600M GT graphics card in that generation of MBPs.
If it does look like the current generation, then I'm afraid you may be on the hook for the repairs. But, have you tried something simple like an SMC/PRAM reset?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
There is unfortunately nothing we can do if the computer fails after 1.5 years and you do not have Applecare. It is the exact same thing as with any other electronic product. If the product fails after the warranty period ends, well, sometimes it is just bad luck. I think your comments about faulty products and such are misfounded. There are hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of MBPs or Powerbooks out there that go (and have gone) 10+ years without any problems. Some do not. It is just the nature of anything electronic we buy right now.

  • E63----Faulty Product ever

    Dear sir/madam,
I recently purchased a NOKIA Phone E63. The worst model of NOKIA.
From the beggining it is hanging .
From 1st day its started hanging,
Then given to local nokia service station, even i told them that, phone is hanging mostly when call is coming[on incoming call]...and battery problem:"its not giving back as it was shown on box " even its feature...
I am feeling very bad about nokia, how they sale this kind of handset,
However i told them problem even i requested them to exchange with other handset, they said"we cant do this, its not nokia policy"...and they only updated firm software of my handset..
Customer care centres are highly irresponsible.
    Battery is not supportive ..
even if i use phone for call 20mint its start decreasing ...not even run for one[1]single day..SO bad nokia..
    Here is list of bugs:
1.Battery problem[it says Talk time (maximum): GSM up to 11 hours; WCDMA up to 4h 40 min, its hardly stands 6]
    2.Camera worst[it say 2mp,must be 1.3mp]
3.Hanging Problem[when Incoming call, even menu hangs ,need restart every time]
4.Need exchange handset with other model [im not happy with handset]
    Expecting reply not copypaste reply..
    Sorry for my language..

If you'd like to contact Nokia directly, use the "contact us" link up the top of this page. This is a user to user forum, Nokia staff seldomly post.
In regards to your post, taking your handset to a NCC (Nokia Care Centre), of course they will not swap your handset for another. You didn't buy it off them, they are simply there to fix your handset. The only place you will get an exchange is where you bought it.
6 Hours of talk time? You will get the longest amount of talk time if you are standing in an area with excellent reception. The more reception the less battery is used.

  • Nokia N8 - my device is not recognized by Nokia OV...

I had to update the software recently  Anna 1 & 2 and the optional one through my mobile internet connection as my device failed to get recognized by my laptop (Nokia OVI suite 3.1.1) on which I had downloaded the software update.
On connecting the USB Cable, my devoice screen shows 3 times to change to Nokia ovi suite and back, and even if I press connect to Ovi suite it just does not connect. It shows the USB as connected and the battery starts getting charged. The laptop shows that only N8 mobile camera is recognized not the N8 phone. The OVI suite also asks the device to be connected and not recognize the N8.
It is very surprising as the same OVI Suite recognizes my other Nokia models when I tries to connect to my laptop and even wanted to register as my default model!
I took my set to the dealer who made me reformat the device, remove the existing Ovi suite from the laptop and reinstall fresh Nokia Ovi suite, removed all old updates of Nokia updater, PC connection cable software, reinstalled the Anna 1 & 2 on the device and the result is the same.
Can any one help me to connect my N8 and be recognized by the OVI suite in my laptop as I am unable to sync my data and restore all application that has been backe4d up last week  in the main OVI server  from where I need to restore my ovi suite freshly installed in the laptop and from there to my device?

Could you please try Suite 3.2 beta, from Nokia betalabs. If the problem still occurs, then please check if Windows Device Manager reports some error?

  • Lack of customer service etiquette for faulty product

I acquired an Apple MacBook Pro i15 inchi n early 2012 and it performed beautifully until Apple released their latest OS named Mavericks. Upon being advised of Mavericks userbility,I decided to upgrade my OS via Apple's Itunes Store. Suddenly,my machine would not boot up and cuts off during operation. I immediately went to the Apple store, located in NYC Fifth Avenue, only to be informed there would be a surcharge of $310 to repair an hardware issue caused by Apple's software upgrade. Subsequently,an Apple employee followed up with a price compromise of half the original amout stated. My response to Apple is my back up PC which is eight years old has been repaired complimentary free of cost by Sony in the past two (2) years for a faulty battery.
Mark my words Apple,I currently own a $2,000 Apple paperweight and I will never acquire, advise or initiate a friend, foe, associate or colleague to purchase any of your products.
Good luck trying to compete against Amazon's Kindle,Dell's Alienware and last but not least your outsourcing competitor, namely Samsung.(Hint:Their customer service retains their customers) The art of good business is bringing people together.

  • Nokia E52 (Gold) - which Product Code(s) support A...

Am going to use Nokia Software Updater (NSU) to flash my phone to the latest version of firmware available so need to know which Product Code I need to set the phone to support the Alternative Line Service that is offered by many GSM carriers.
Unfortunately my version of the Nokia E52 (RM-469, Gold, Product Code 586660) does not suuport this feature even though it is described in the manual and I cannot switch to the second line from the Call Settings Menu as described on Page 106 of the manual.
My SIM and carrier account are enabled for this and I have verified that by using my old Nokia 6310i which does receive calls on both lines and shows a "2" to indicate the Alternative line.
    All suggestions welcome - Thankx!

  • Update Nokia 6131 RM--115 - Product code 0534195?

    Hi!
I bought this phone two weeks ago. It says manufacturing date is 02-2007 yet its firmware is still v3.70. The Nokia Software Update (latest version), as well as the product code checker, state there are no updates available for my phone despite seeing a wide range of people is having v5.50. My product code is 0534195. So okay, I may have to wait for a specific firmware revision for my phone model, but still, can anyone tell me if this is going to take a long time or something?
    Thanks a lot,

They can be operator-specific and can be hardware specific within the same model.
FYI I haven't heard of an update to 05.50 for your Telecom Personal branded device.

  • Bad response from nokia care

My phone's audio is not working and ..they aren't rectifying it...pls nokia if u r listening then do the needful

Hi, Rupesh_30. Apologies for the service you have received. Let's try to help you on this one. For which phone is this? When you said that your "phone's audio is not working", are you not able to hear anything on the phone when engaged in a call? Is the behavior the same when streaming/listening to music or videos? How about when the phone is set to loudspeaker or when a headset is connected to it? If the issue you have is not the one I mentioned, please let us know then the exact issue you have, so we can further help.
Have you tried sending the phone to a Care Center and have it inspected? If yes, this was where you get a "bad response". Is this right? Aside from not rectifying the issue, what did they inform you about this?
Hope to hear from you soon.
