ODS delete, load and Activation process

We recently ran into temp space issues during ODS activation in serial of 26 million records. We are loading the data from the source using 8 separate requests. This is a weekly job complete delete and reload of ODS with BEx reporting, no delta possible.
So this is what I am trying next in the process chain:
1. Load package 1
2 .Load package 2
3. Selective deletion of existing ODS content
4. Activate packages 1 & 2
4. Load package 3
5. Load package 4
6. Activate packages 3 & 4
6. Load package 5
7. Load package 6
8. Activate packages 5 & 6
8. Load package 7
9. Load package 8
10. Activate packages 7 & 8
Note the duplicate process numbers meaning the processes happen in parallel with 2 Successful Actions from the previous process number and terminating at each activation process.
My question is would there be an issue with overlapping more than one activation job in the same ODS? If so, is there a better way to do this?
Thanks loads,
Al B.

Before I try the 4 ODS scenario, I will revise my process chain:
1. Load packages 1 & 2.
2. Selective deletion of Active data
Split flow of succesfull actions to similtaneously
3. Activate packages 1 & 2 and load packages 3 & 4.
4. AND process, when 3 is complete
similtaneously
5. Activate packages 3 & 4 and load packages 5 & 6.
6. AND process, when 5 is complete
similtaneously
Activate packages 5 & 6 and load packages 7 & 8.
7. AND process when 6 is complete
8. Activate Packages 7 & 8.
Sound complicated? It's not really. I will let you know after this weekend if it worked and how long it took.

  • ODS loading and activation takes too long

    Hi,
I am testing OSS note 565725 recommendation of ( Same is detailed in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw30b/helpdata/en/ad/6b023b6069d22ee10000000a11402f/frameset.htm  under ODS performance )
    1. Activating data in the ODS object.
Here after setting the RSCUSTA2 parameters as
Customizing ID       BW Business Information Warehouse
    No. of Par. Proc.    2
    Min. No. Data Recs.  25000
    Wait Time in Sec.
    Server Group         parallel_generators
I am not seeing any significant improvement in load and activation timings. Are there any additional settings required ? Also my understanding is after the Min. No. Data Recs level is reached, server should kick in activation job. Am I right ?
Currently I am using BW 3.5
    thanks

    Hi,
Go thru the below links which helps you to improve the ODS load performance.
How to improve the load performance
This is very intresting article which talks about "Performance Tuning for SAP Business Information Warehouse"

I am having problems launching the standalone version of Lightroom 6 after I have gone through the install and activation process? Lightroom starts to open but "hangs" before any photos in the catalgue are displayed. I have contacted the chat support twice but they have not been able to fix the problem.

I went through the activation process yesterday and shut down my PC when I went to bed last evening. When I got up this morning and turned my PC on and then started Lightrom 6 (I upgraded from version 5) it started to launch but then just hung and became "not responsive". I I then uninstalled and then reinstalled the product today but the same thing happened. What is weird is that when I install from the standalone file I downloaded when I purchased the upgrade it looks like it's downloading the software again over the Internet? I have been having these problems for the last four or five days. I have contacted the chat support folks twice and they were able to get it working but whatever they did did not last as the problem reappeared again once the PC was shut down and then started up again.

  • GDM loaded and active, but not showing login-screen.

    Hello Archers!
At the very beginning I would like to say "Hello" to all forum users!
I recently started using Arch Linux, after moving from Win8.1 to Ubuntu and then to Arch. I've went through a struggle of installing proprietary AMD graphic card drivers and finally managed to get it working. Although that was achieved with a little sacrifice - GDM stopped working. I can still run Gnome with "startx", but I can't get login-screen to work. Any ideas what happened and how to get it working?
I'm using xorg115 and proprietary AMD graphic drivers.

    EDIT
    Tried symlinking
    /usr/lib64/dri
    to
    /usr/X11R6/lib64/modules
And made that error in Xorg log disappear. However, gdm is still not working. I'm getting stuck at

I can still log with other tty and startx manually.

  • Deleting songs and restoration process

Hi, I recently just received my sister's old ipod and have already run into a slew of problems. It is a 20gb 4th generation. Problem is half the time with I plug in my ipod into my computer it deletes the songs I just put on it. Afterwords when I plug it back in I get the message that I need to restore it to factory settings. Thats cool and all, but this has happened like 4-5 times in the last 24 hours and the restoring seems to not work. I'm scared to add new music in fear of the tunes that manage to get on being deleted. I'm thinking its a hardware problem, but there is no warranty left on it. Any help or solutions are much appreciated.
    20gb 4th generation   Windows XP

    Help, anybody got any ideas?

  • HT201441 the device has already been erased, but is still linked to the previous owner's account, you will be prompted for the previous owner's Apple ID and password during the device setup and activation process

I could not contact the previous owner so that can help me the way you have described

The Help page you came here from gives you all the information; without the previous owner's password or his removing the phone from his list of devices you cannot proceed and I'm afraid your phone is useless.

  • Loading through Process Chains 2 Delta Loads and 1 Full Load (ODS to Cube).

    Dear All,
I am loading through Process chains with 2 Delta Loads and 1 Full load from ODS to Cube in 3.5. Am in the development process.
    My loading process is:
Start - 2 Delta Loads - 1 Full Load - ODS Activation - Delete Index - Further Update - Delete overlapping requests from infocube - Creating Index.
    My question is:
When am loading for the first am getting some data and for the next load i should get as Zero as there is no data for the next load but am getting same no of records for the next load. May be it is taking data from full upload, i guess. Please, guide me.
    Krishna.

    Hi,
The reason you are getting the same no. of records is as you said (Full load), after running the delta you got all the changed records but after those two delta's again you have a full load step which will pick whole of the data all over again.
The reason you are getting same no. of records is:
1> You are running the chain for the first time.
2> You ran this delta ip's for the first time, as such while initializing these deltas you might have choosen "Initialization without data transfer", as such now when you ran these deltas for the first time they picked whole of the data.Running a full load after that will also pick the same no. of records too.
If the two delats you are talking are one after another then is say u got the data because of some changes, since you are loading for a single ods to a cube both your delta and full will pick same "For the first time " during data marting, for they have the same data source(ODS).
Hope fully this will serve your purpose and will be expedite.

  • Error in assigning SID and activation of ODS

    Hi all,
Iam loading delta from R/3 to BW ODS and the ODS is not getting activated and shoeing the message as " error when assigning sid ,activation of data records terminated.
    This is the message :
Error geeting SID for ODS object

    Data record: 9,431
    InfoObject: 0REF_DOC_NO
Activation of data records terminated for the ODS object.
    Pls help me out.
    with regards,
    Mohan.

What has happened is that a Invalid Character "#" has come in a record for the Value of 0REF_DOC_NO because of which the request is not getting activated.
What you will need to do is delete the request from the ODS. Go to the Request in PSA. Open the request look for the record with Invalid Character.
Modify the record by changing the value ...save..and load the request data from the PSA.

  • Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try agai

I have just had a Windows XP failure and took the opportunity to replace with Windows 7.  After I reinstalled PhotoShop CS(1) the message "Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try again"  is shown and forces PhotoShop to close.  I have 4Gb of Ram installed and a total of about 10Gb of Page File space on three partitions of a 500Gb HDD.  The system is not heavily loaded!  However, I cannot access Photoshop to check scratch disk allocation.  How to fix???

Yes, there are many forums, and it can be confusing. Your question has the best chance of being answered if it is in the proper place. I think it is there now.

  • ODS Delta Load --- Activation problem

    Hi
I had an ODS, newly transported in to procuction. I did Initialization for that with out having any problem. But i am facing problem in the delta load. I can see that delta data load is successfull. But couldnot able to Activate the delta load request.
I can able to see following comments in  cancelled job log.
Key value exists in duplicate (Not allowed by the ODS object type)
    System error occurred (RFC
    call)
Errors occured when carrying out activation
Can you please help me out why activation of delta request cancelling?
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Venkata

    hi..
for ur ODS..right click..go to change..in the settings..the checkbox for 'unique data records' must be ticked.
in dev..remove this checkbox and then save/activate the ODS.
transport this change to prod and then reload the data to the ODS in prod.
the delta request will surely load(and also activate) without any problem.
    cheers,
    Vishvesh

  • VI on LabVIEW real-time is loading and running a DLL which has been deleted from the machine

OK, this is a weird one (at least, to me :-)  )
I have a small real-time demo application VI that I am writing, using some new VIs I just created.  My new VIs are wrapper functions for a DLL, using Call Library Function Nodes.
In the process of debugging, I decided to delete the DLL and run without it, to confirm that I am actually loading and using the DLL (since it seemed to have stopped doing something it had successfully done just a little while earlier).
The VIs that use that DLL still run, and at least some of them actually do what they are supposed to do.  But the DLL does not exist on the real time machine!  Not only did I delete it, reboot the machine, and check that it was gone, but through my ftp program I searched the whole hard drive for that DLL and did not find it (the search succeeded in finding a different DLL which did exist on the system, so the search-via-ftp is working).
How could this happen?  What am I missing?  Could this somehow be the result of a corrupted VI or is there some more logical explanation for the phenomenon?
    Thank you.
    Batya

Nathan is right at least for the Phrlap ETS based RT systems. For VxWorks you have to (or maybe used to have) to download the shared library to the controller before you could deploy an executable that makes use of them. For Pharlap ETS systems if you deploy a VI library dynamically to a machine it will download everything including shared libraries to the the RT target memory and run it from there. Only if you create an executabel and "install" it to the target and run it from there will it use whatever VIs are in the executable and also use the shared libraries that have been installed onto that system (at least for Pharlap ETS RT targets. As mentioned before for VxWorks targets, the deploy process even for executable installation did for some reasons not take care about moving the according *.out library to the target together with the rtexe).

  • My ipod wasnt loading facebook so i deleted it and re downloaded it and it frose. SO i rebooted it and it got stuck on the apple part of turning on. I tried to plug it in my computer but it wont connect. What should i DO?

I was on my ipod and my facebook wouldnt load so i deleted it and was redownloading it and it froze. I turned off my ipod and tried to turn it back on. In the process of turing it on it froze with the apple screen and now wont turn back on. I plugged it into the computer but it wont connect. What should i do?

Hold the home button and sleep button down together for 16 second when device is on. This will reset it in DPU mode which completely shuts of device. Once it has loaded it should be fixed

  • Replacement Needed. This iphone is not able to complete the activation process and needs to be replaced. Please visit your nearest apple store or authorized service center.

Probably will never ever think of buying a locked phone from AT&T cause its one of the worst system integrations ever that these companies could think of.
The entire problem started when I put in a request with at&t to unlock my iphone 4s (ios7) which did get approved. I performed the entire instructions they asked me to do, which is to backup and restore. After doing those instructions my iphone gave me an error message below
The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
The SIM card that you currently installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.
Basically saying that at&t hasn't still unlocked the iphone which a really helpful apple executive was able to confirm. I initiated another unlock process from at&t in order to unlock the iphone, just to be sure that its not something wrong from my end. The nice at&t lady stayed on chat with me to unlock the iphone step my step while I was calling the apple tech too. And the apple tech confirmed again that the iphone is locked to at&t.
Now, just a few minutes ago I tried another restore to see if any progress is being made and to my surprise I got an error message saying
Replacement Needed. This iphone is not able to complete the activation process and needs to be replaced. Please visit your nearest apple store or authorized service center.
I feel like I am just going around these two different "money hogger" companies which set certain rules and regulations to screw a regular phone buyer. I purchased this iphone in USA and trying to unlock in India, is it really this hard to simply unlock a device.
For now I am going to try to call a apple office in india (apprently we don't have very many out here) and see if they can help me. But any other assistance regarding unlocking an iphone 4s would be helpful. I have however, tried checking IMEI.info, called up apple, talked to at&t (which always say go talk to apple) I do have a case number from apple as well in case an apple executive reads this discussion forum (case number: 566383594)
    Thanks

You got a confirmation from AT&T that it was authorized. Is this correct? - Yes i did get an email authorization on the 21st.
Then you connected the phone to a computer with the latest version of iTunes installed. You clicked on the phone's name in iTunes, then clicked "Backup Now". - Yes
When that finished you clicked "Restore iPhone" (NOT "Restore Backup") - Yes
Are you with me so far? - Yes.
And @ Varjak is right that after the 3rd restore I get the replacement error.
Plus I have NEVER jailbroken the iPhone. To give you another update, I spoke to a really nice apple tech in India who was atleast able to get me out of the replacement error by doing a recovery mode option. However, the lastest restore still gives me the same error
