Office Jet 4580 prints in reverse order, setting changes won't hold
I have a HP Office Jet 4580 and it keeps printing the last page first and works backwards. I only do one sided pages for printing, no double sided pages.
I have changed the settings as follows:
Printing Preferences
Document Options-Advanced printing features- Enabled changed to Disabled
Layout Options-Page order-Back to front changed to Front to back
I click on "Apply" and/or "OK" for each change.
I have tried the above in every combination possible (i.e. changed to Disabled, but leave Back to front, change to Front to back and leave it Enabled, etc.). Not only does this not change anything, but all settings revert back all by themselves. Once, I saw the Disabled change back to Enabled on its own as I clicked on the "OK" button. Sometimes the "Apply" button is greyed out as well. I make the changes from the Devices and Printers window. I then do the same to double check from a website window by going to File-Print-Preferences to make sure, but it changes back all by itself.
How do I make the changes permanent? I still cannot print page one first on multi-page print requests. The only time I was able to disable the Advanced printing features, it did not print at all. What is wrong with this software??

My HP office jet 6500 printer is stuck on pause. I do not have an admin name or password that it keeps prompting me to give, as it is a wireless printer and that info was not required when we set up the printer. I have checked all diagnostics and connections and they are all good/passed. I am so frustrated!!! This has never happened in the past.
What is asking you for an admin name and password? What does the dialog say, exactly?
What model iMac are you using, and which OS version?
If it is earlier than Lion or Snow Leopard, try deleting the printer and adding it again as explained in this document
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3140
Otherwise you can "reset the printing system" as explained here
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1341
and here

Download the latest drivers here (Lion, Snow Leopard)

Cant set up my HP office jet 8600 printer with my iPad mini
Can't set my HP office jet 8600 printer with my iPad mini
That is not an AirPrint supported printer. Check for compatibility here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
Check the App Store for an HP app that may provide limited printing functionality. Alternatively, you can use your computer as a wireless print server using an app like Printopia. Note that your computer must be on and able to print for this solution to work. -
Document prints in reverse, what setting can I change to correct this?
Document prints in reverse, what setting can I change to correct this? Not a printer problem - documents print in correct order when using other programs. Using Acrobat X Pro on a Mac.
One more place to check. Open a document you'd like to print, then click the 'Printer...' button. Hit 'Yes' to the warning dialog box that comes up. For your specific printer, this might already be enabled. Change the drop-down menu that says 'Layout' to 'Paper Handling'. It could be that the Page Order preference has been changed here too. Just a thought!

what settings do i put my printer on to print 5.5*8.5 invitations on a 6500 office jet hp printer
dawie,
Here is a link to a post that has some good information on mirror image printing and what has worked for some other people. You should be able to go to Control Panel>Printers>right click on printer>Properties>under General tab click Printing Preferences>under Advanced Tab click Mirror Image ON. However, like i said others have had some issues with this. Hopefully you will find the link below helpful.

EPrint always prints in reverse order
Hi,
If I email somthing to my printer it always prints in reverse order, it's very annoying. Is this somthing I can change?
It's a Photosmart Premium Fax C410b
Thanks
PaulIt has been 6 months since the last reply. Any progress on this issue? It would seemingly be simple to add a new option to the same ePrint options screen (which lets you choose color or b&w, for example) to choose between printing the last page first (the current selection) and printing the first page first (what most users would want, especially for very long documents).
If there is a planned date to release this feature, the ability to print first page first, please post the expected date in a reply to this post. -
Printing config sm to be set to print in reverse order. How to fix?
OSX 10.6.3 and MS Word 12.23. When I go to print-to-disk a Word document (i.e. turn it into a PDF using Preview as the default display tool) I get a PDF whose pages are in reverse order. Fine for hard copy output, useless for PDF. Every Print pref or config setting I look for offers no help and, of course, as is completely normal, the Help menu offers nothing either.
I have found an easy fix for a small document — do a "preview" of the document in the Print dialog then drag the pages manually to where they should be. But not every document I work with is small.
Suggestions please.Oh John, thanks for trying to help. However, I'm not trying to print to any printer. I'm trying to "print-to-disk" i.e. save as a PDF to the desktop so I can later send it as an email attachment.
And by the way, I forgot to mention for you and other kind folk in here — the Word print dialog box does contain a setting Copies & Pages/Page Handling/Page Order with the options "automatic, normal, reverse" but it makes no difference what I select, I still end up with "reverse".

Canon 2100 Series printing in reverse order
I have a Canon 2100 series -- an MG 2120. When I print things out, they come out in the tray in reverse order -- a six page document will thus have p. 6 on top when I take the stack out. I cannot find a setting on my computer to make things print out in reverse order, so that page one will be on top and I won't have to manually put multipage documents in order. Help?
Hi oldwest,
To change the order in which pages are printed, please follow the steps located at the link below:

Hope this helps!

Hp office jet 5740 prints copies too light
Hi I just purchased a HP office jet 5740 and have it set up. When I print a color copy
it comes out very light compared to the original. This happens when printing without being
connected to the computer. Is there any was to adjust this?Hello gloworm2,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the printed photo being lighter than the original.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I also suggest that you run through the following document that deals with Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP ENVY 5640, 5660, 7640 and Officejet 5740, 8040 e-All-in-On...
Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions.

* Web forum fix - At HP Print Section click "Premium Paper" setting .... However, this does not work
Have clicked on FF 3.6 version to download in the past 3X however system says I have FF3.5Are you changing that setting to Black / Greyscale from within Firefox?

I recently started having my networked HP Office Jet printer begin flashing lights and displaying error code 0x887df78e. It seems to be related to the use of ITunes. The only information from HP is to remove the print cartriges, keep unplugging the printer and plugging it in several times and then hit a combination of keys on the key pad. This does not seem to work. Any clues? It appears I am not the only one who sees a link withthis phenom and ITunes.
Try unistalling Itunes and reinstall without the option for automatic updates on the Apple download site. reinstall printer software.

We just had our modume replace and I am now trying to print on my HP Office Jet Pro
Hello mariamac80,
It sounds like you cannot print from your network printer on your MacBook. Printer issues can be a but tough to nail down, but I would recommend trying the troubleshooting in this article named:
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

PDF files print in reverse order per page
Hi - I am trying to figure out if this is an adobe issue or a printing issue. It is happening only on this user who is on Adobe 9.1 -everyone else is on 7.0 and they aren't having this issue. So maybe it is a combo.
When the user prints a PDF which was a powerpoint file (she did not creat it was sent via email) she selects 2 per page and hten selects doublesided - landscape and collates staples top left hand side.
File prints doublesided and collates, but what would be slide one would be on the bottom of the page and what would be slide 2 would show at the top. On the back of the 1st page slide 3 is at the the bottom and slide 4 is at the top. Staples at the bottom right.
Printer settings seem ok......there is a selection for order and top to bottom is selected. Reverse order is NOT selected.
Are there any settings in Adobe that would cause this? I have googled and though there are some similar questions no one has answered.
specs:
Windows XP Professional SP3
Adobe 9.1 (latest updates)
Canon IR C5185 (multifunction color)
thanks in advance. RobinHey,
Please let me know what is your Reader version.
Open Reader and go to Edit->Preferences->Accessibility and deselect 'Replace Document Colors' option.
If this does not help, then try repairing Adobe Reader and then check.
Let me know.
Regards,

Configure hp office jet to print from IPad
Configure iPad to print on hp office jet pro
Depending on which HP OfficeJet Pro printer you have, the solution could vary. You can click on the link below, choose the "Which HP printers are compatible with Apple AirPrint", and view all AirPrint capable printers. If you printer is AirPrint capable, you can print directly from your iPad with the proper settings.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02623193&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en #N197
If your printer does not appear on the list, you may want to check out various apps that can provide a solution for you. The HP ePrint Home and Biz app is one that HP makes, but there are many 3rd party printing apps available.
