OM evaluation path showing chief position and subordinates

Hi experts, is there any standard OM evaluation path showing the reporting structure in Org chart like this?
                 OU
                   I
                Chief
          _____I_____
          I                 I
    Position         Position
if there is no standard evaluation path, do I need to create extra relationship like S A002 Chief to every position??
What else solution would you suggest??
Many thanks!!

Your drawing (and last message) indicates a relationship between O and "Chief" and between "Chief" and S (Position). As others have mentioned, this is not SAP standard - and to me it doesn't make sense either.  The chief position (A12 relationship) and the regular positions (A003 relationship) all belong to the same org.units don't they?
For your need you would actually have to create your own "Chief" object type,  make your own relations and your own evaluation paths.  I would strongly advise against this.  What is the business need for this requirement?
In PPOME you can move the manager (chief) position so it is the first position in the in the Org.Unit.  This will give a better visual of the org.sturcture.  Also, check the priority field in the relationship, and check the documentation for this.
Hope this is of some help.

  • Evaluation path reading OM up and downwards

    Hello!
Starting from a Person i need a evaluation path that reads P-S-O and then O upwards and downwards. From these O's the path has to find all O-S-C.
So, is that possible to read the OM in the same path up and down?
    Thanks for any information!

    hi,
Evaluation path only give you a tree branch, from a node up or down recursivelly.
what for are you looking for this evaluation path, lookin for a resonsable of a decission? a report?.
PPST is the transaction to test evaluation path. Try to find yourself what is the evaluation path you need using the matchcode, or try to test what you can do with a evaluation path.
    Kind regards,

  • MSS Team View evaluation path for non chief positions (s-s)

    Hello,
We have a problem with display of employees under non chief manager - reporting managers (connection A002). In our organization we have line managers and under them team managers who are leading team of employees. Those managers want to see their employees under MSS Team View iView.
I have checked forum posts and try to create correct evaluation path but i didn't get results yet. I have created 2 evaluation paths:
    Z_MANG (copy of SAP_MANG):
    10 *     B 008      S
    20 S    B 002      S
    30 US  A 208 P
    Z_S-S (copy of MSSDIREC):
    10 S  A 002     S
    20 S  A 008     P
    30 S  A 008     US
I also included them into rules so:
    Root rule (rule 1) - Z_MANG
    Target rule (rule 3) - Z_S-S
I have also done customizing under Object and Data provider and if I choose standard evaluation paths (e.g. SAP_MANG and MSSDIREC), I get employees shown - if I give manager a hat (A012 connection).
Could you please help me with advice, where am I wrong? I think that first evaluation path (Z_MANG) is ok and it finds non chief manager, maybe is a problem with second one that don't show employees?
Thank you for answers in advance.
    Best regards,
    David

My first suggestion was either use Bottoms-up approach or top-down dont use both..like either use either of below
    S A 002 Reports (line) or
    S B 002 Is line supervisor
but figured u will still have depth issues..so therefore
you cld experiment like below..i understood your requirement, and i am suggesting this totally off-hand thats on top of my head..as i said experiement doing this way..
say you have four levels  why dont you use different evalutaion path to link them between each level..
    say 1st to 2nd (reports to A002)
          2nd to 3rd (subordinate to A005)
          3rd to 4th/4th to 3rd (Is line supervisor B 002 )etc
this way you will not have the depth issue as each one is diffeent Ev path..
...oops i can see people laughing at this solution..but well..i tried!

  • Org Unit with more than one Chief Position

    Hi,
we have implemented MSS via the portal using a one-to-one relationship between Org Units and Chief Positions, and we would now like to have multiple Chief positions attached to one Org Unit.
As far as I can tell from the SAP documentation, this should be straightforward, but the results we are getting do not seem correct.
I have an Org Unit that has position 1 and position 2 assigned to it with relationship A/B 012 denoting that they are Chief Positions.
User 1 is holder of position 1 and user 2 is holder of position 2.
Both users have the same security roles.
The views used on the portal are configured using the MSS Object and Data Provider functionality, using the standard ORGEH view, evaluation path for root objects SAP_MANG and evaluation path objects SBES.  The checkbox 'Excl. Managers' is ticked.
The problem is this - both users can see all the subordinate employees in the Org Unit when they log on to MSS but user 1 can also see user 2 in his list of employees, which is not correct as user 1 and user 2 are both chiefs.  User 2 cannot see user 1 in his list of employees, which we would expect.
The only logic we can see for user 1 being able to see user 2's details is that user 1 must be somehow defined as the 'superior' Chief Position, but we have not defined this as far as we know.
Any ideas as to why this is happening for us?
    Many thanks,
    Fran.

    Hi Fran,
Sounds like you have set up the reporting structures and MSS properly.  I do question why two chiefs for one org unit.  As you stated, both can see all employees and so both can approve time, give pay increases, etc. without the approval of the other.  If this is want you want, then you have set it up properly.  Usually, one has to approve the actions of the other, thus, is in a superior relationship.  This can be handled by having a higher level new org unit with the higher person as chief and the lower stay as head of the lower org unit which reports to it.
As you have it now, both individuals have the same rights and access.  They should both be excluded from iViews if you checked the "Excl. Managers" box.  Since, you just recently made one a manager, have you checked for any date dependencies?  If the Chief #1 is selecting a view for "Current Year", for example, he would be able to see all persons who reported to him for this year, which includes Chief #2.  There are no 'superior chief' designations (except by structure), so without being able to view your configuration, my suggestion is to check all dates for the assignments and relationships vs. dates of the view.

  • User without the Chief position in org id to view the resources under him.

    Hi,
    The requirement is:
A person who is playing the role of a crew leader should be able to fill the time sheet of his crew. This person will not be given the chief position for the org id that he is tagged to. There will be different person who will be tagged to the chief position and will be playing the role of a manager.
I want to understand, what exactly needs to be done in MSS for the crew leader to fill his team's timesheet ?
    Regards,
    Rukmani

As such in MSS we have self services in general information page, where manager can enter details for his employees which are determined by evaluation path who reports to him which is again configurable done using OADP
In your case make a new evaluation path for the user so that he can see which employees are assigned to him not necessarily he has to be a manager

  • Delegation using A999 Relationship from Chief Position to Person ID

    Hi
We have occasions in which we have managers in chief positions that need to delegate duties to others in their organisation. This is enabled via the set-up of an A999 delegate relationship that goes from the Chief Position to the person that they wish to delegate responsibility to.
Is there a report or transaction that can be used to understand what A999 delegation rules are in place to determine who the delegates are possibly. Example I set-up A999 relationship on a chief position # and indicate (P) Person related object, specifying the person id to undertake delegation. If someone asks me to tell them which position # a particular person is delegate for I have know way of knowing, unless I can find this via a report some way.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks
    Nicola

    Hi,
Yes.. check it out the document in the Evaluation Path transaction OOAW. Select the info button of A999. You will get the doc about that relationship. If that is customized one, you need to maintain the relationship doc.
    Good luck.

  • HR - Evaluation Path Issue

    Hi ,
There is a custom FM which is using  std FM   RH_STRUC_GET_MULTIPLE_ROOTS' to get back hierarchy of organisation .
A custom evaluation path has been created and is being used - ZX.
Now RH_STRUC_GET_MULTIPLE_ROOTS' is returning incorrect results. I need to check whether the evaluation path is defined properly. looks like there is an error in definition which might be causing this problem.
I have no idea how evaluation path works. Could you please let me know the tcode where i could check on the custom evaluation path and rectify the error?
    Thanks in advance

    thanks for the reply.
I can see the evaluation path in table t778a. In tcode ppss i do not know what the object id and object type for the evaluation path are?
Any idea if there is any other way to check details?

  • Evaluation path to get personnel number all the org unit and subordinates

    Dear all,
I have OM issue to ask. This is the scenario:
Staff A  belong to  org 1. Under Org  1, I  have org unit 1-A, 1-B and org unit 1-C.
    Issue 1 :
I want to run report(RHSTRU00) to  to generate all the staff number in org 1 (Include 1-A, 1-B, and 1-C).
    Issue 2 :
I  want to run report for 1-A, only staff belongs in org 1-A appear. The others not appear.
I was understanding I have to play around with evaluation path. Until now I can't find the suitable evaluation_path. I need your help.tq

    Hi,
Not sure why you want to reinvent the wheel.  The standard report RHXSTRU02 will give you people by Org Unit.  Just enter the Org Unit ID number and you will get the employees as output.
If you still want to use RHSTRU00, you can use O-P or O-S-P to get the employees and the positions.

  • Evaluation Path for Position to Position Reporting Structure

    Hello Everyone,
We currently have a position to position reporting structure in place.  WIth this being said, not every supervisor in our organization is the chief of a team.  I am trying to create an evaluation path that will look at a position, then go up to get the positions report to position (but not go up any further), then go down to get the positions that report to the supervisor.  This will allow us to start with a position, then return all the positions that the report to position has.  In essence this will allow us to start with a position and get the team (though we don't have an org unit for the team).  I am trying to do this for the Team Calendar in ESS.
Below is what I have.  The problem is with the depth, if I enter a 2, then it is not getting the lateral positions, but if I enter a 3, then it goes up to another level and gets an additional supervisor (which I do not want).
    S     A     002     Reports (line) to     2     S
    S     B     002     Is line supervisor of     1     S
    S     A     008     Holder     3     P
Has anyone developed and Evaluation Path that does this (gets a positions team without having an org unit) and can offer assistance?
    Best Regards,
    Scott

  • Using Rule 168, SWX_GET_MANAGER and Chief Position

We have enabled standard SAP Travel Workflow WS20000040 - Approve Trip.   We are not currently using OM relationships A002 (Reports Line to) or B002 (Is Line Supervisor of).   We currently identify the Line Manager of the employee using the Chief Position designation A 012 and would like to use this for Trip approvals in lieu of building all of these additional relationships.
Rule 168 is bound to the workflow.  According to the documentation associated with the rule, it seems that the rule should work with either the A002 or A012 relationship.  However, we only seem to be getting a superior identified when relationship A002/B002 exists.
Are there additional configuration or parameter settings that we might need to consider to make the manager (agent) determined properly exclusively with the Chief Position assignment?
Thanks for  any guidance you can provide.

What I found through trial and error is that rule 168 does indeed evaluate the A012 relationship by default with no change in the standard evaluation path.  In our testing system, the "Chief" postion was not properly assigned.  Once this was resolved, the workflow works properly.
As a side note, I also learned that you must have the parameter WFLOW VAPOS set for the rule to properly look up the organizational structure when a position (and chief) are vacant.

  • Evaluation Path and Plan version

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone please help me understand the concept of Evaluation Path and how the Evaluation path and the plan version settings are used in real time scenarios.
    Thanks,
    Sindhu.

    Hi,
See, a reporting structure, staff assignment, organization structure are all evaluations paths themselves. The relationship between objects is defined.
A lot of standard evaluation paths exist. But in case you dont have the path which meets your requirement you create a new one.
Suppose you want to find out which all Tasks are linked to a job which is linked to a position which reports to an Org Unit
so your evaluation path will traverse Org unit then position then the job then the tasks assigned.
A relationship between an object is also a evalution path
    hope this helps

How can we create external object types in om.
How can we create the Evaluation Paths and what is relevance of table T7771 and T 777E.
what are the reports specific to Om .

External objects we just need to Assign
Ex-Cost Centre and Holder of the psotion
    Cost Centre we assign
and hodler of the position will get when we hire an employe
regarding Evaluation path Check the tcode PPSC
and give the Evaluation path which u want to see by assigning the various paths between different objects
    RHXEXI00 --> Existing Organizational Units
    RHXSTR01--> Organizational Structure with Positions
RHXSTR02 --> Organizational Structure with Persons
    RHXEXI02 --> Existing Jobs

  • How to extract subordinate-superior-Chief Position relationship

    Hi,
I need a report in the following format:
Employee Pernr, Employee Name, Org. Unit, Superior Pernr, Superior Name, Chief Position.
    How can I do this?
My PD consultant needs this because he has to store this information.
    Points asssured!
    Thanks and regards,
    Nivedita.

    Hi,
You'll need to go by extracting data quite a few times through HRP and PA tables. SE16.
Function modules..u'l get the data for single employee unless u use it in Z report.
    1. Find all O-S  B012 relationships  -- Chief
    2. For all chiefs find subordinates S-S B002 relationship (keep one wrksheet for this)
    3. PA0001 find personnel numbers for all positions for ENDDA 31.12.9999
    4. PA0002 find person names
    5. VLOOKUP the personnel numbers against postion names and employee names against personnel numbers in the same sheet.
Seems a very tedious process but I had used the same to extract these details, did not find nething standard.
    Hope this helps.

    Shreyasi.

  • Evaluation paths MANASS, MSSDIREC and MSSREPS

What is the major difference in Evaluation Paths : MANASS, MSSDIREC and MSSREPS ?
Is there any location, that I can get the help on the standard SAP evaluation paths created ?
    Regards,
    Srikanth

    Hi,
You can check all the evaluation paths through transaction OOAW (table T778A). Since evaluation path is comprised of a set of relationships, you can check each of the three that you have listed in your post. Select one and double click on the u201Cevaluation path (individual maintenance)u201D folder on the left side column. You will see each of the three is constructed out of different relationships.
For a generic help, you can use F1.
    Hope this helps.
