Outlook 2013 will not Quick Print a PDF attachment on a Windows 8.1 computer

LS,
One of my customers has a Windows 8.1 Computer, Internet Explorer, Office 2013 and Acrobat reader XI (all updated, latest version, etc.).
Whenever my customer gets a email in his outlook with a PDF attachment, he cannot use Quick Print in the menu to print the attachment.
When he does this, simply nothing happens, no error, no nothing and the printer doesn't print. Any other type of attachment appears not to be a problem.
If I use a different program to open the PDF than with a little work around I can open the PDF and than print it.
Of course my customer would prefer to use Adobe reader.
Do you have a solution for this problem??
Kind regards,
Clemens Linders

I read somewhere that disabling hardware rendering in Internet Explorer could help with a problem like I had with this customer. And also I read somewhere that you can disable some protection security in PDF.
So I did these two things and I thought.... Yes, this is it. I could now print emails that have a PDF attachment.
Unfortunately, my customer called me yesterday and sys he has still got the same problem when trying to print emails that have multiple PDF attachments.
I am running out of ideas, does anybody have an idea how to fix this??
Kind regards,
Clemens Linders

  • Outlook 2013 will not connect to specific networks outside the office

Outlook 2013.  I can connect to any Wi-Fi network I have attempted...but Outlook 2013 will not connect to my home network.  I have tried clearing the dns cache as well as re-creating the account.  Outlook works fine at the office, fine at
hotels, fine at restaurants, but won't connect at my house using either a wired or Wi-Fi connection.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
As per the information and details provided by you, to connect the Outlook 2013 from outside the office, please follow these steps: -
This is usually the result of authentication issues. In order to prevent strangers from using their
SMTP server to send spam, many ISPs require users to authenticate when they try to send email while accessing the server from outside the network. In many cases, users will also need to use a different
port number and may need to use SSL.
To check or change the outgoing server authentication, you need to open the
Account setting dialog. In Outlook 2013, this is on the
    File tab.
Click on the email account, then click the
More Settings dialog and select the Outgoing server tab to check the authentication settings.
    Enable
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select
Use the same settings as my incoming mail server. These settings will often work both at home and when travelling.
You will also want to check the port and
SSL settings on the Advanced tab. Commonly used port number are
587, 465, and 1025 but if these don’t work, you will need to check your mail providers support pages for the correct port number. You may also need to select
SSL or Auto for encrypted connections, again, this information should be on your mail providers support website.
Note: - Once you make these changes, you should be able to send email from home.
I hope this information will be helpful for you.
    Thanks and regards

  • Outlook 2013 will not start up

Outlook 2013 Will not start. Get the following message:
"Cannot start Microsoft Outlook.  Cannot open the Outlook window.  The set of folders cannot be opened.  The information store could not be opened."
We have Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium edition.  We are using an exchange server for email.  We have confirmed that the email has been set up correctly and we do know that Microsoft was able to fix it once.  After they left the remote
session, we shut down Outlook and restarted it.  We received the same error message as written above.
Microsoft did tell us it was an Outlook software issue.

    Hi,
Please check if Outlook can start with the switch "/resetnavpane":
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /resetnavpane” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If this issue persists, we need to create a new profile to setup the account, then test if this issue still exists:

  • The memo feature will not save on my PDF attachment

The memo note feature on the adobe reader will not save on the PDF attachment.  Any Idea how to correct?

If the pdf is part of an email, you need to download the attachment separately. Add your comment to the downloaded email. It will not become part of the email you received as an email.

  • Outlook 2013 will not open correctly

So I have just installed Office 2013 on a new install of Windows 7 as part of some evaluation work, my issue is when I open Outlook 2013, I get one, sometimes two blank windows with the title WORD either infront or sometimes behind the outlook window, and
outlook doesn't display the preview of the email correctly. I have tried a repair option but that didn't help.
I also looked in task manager and sure enough along with Outlook there are two instances of word, these all close if I exit outlook
What I have found is if I have outlook full screen, the two word windows open infront of the outlook GUI, I can hit the X to close those and then I see outlook but the preview screen is not working, I have to open the email to see the body. If I put outlook
in window mode (not max full screen) the two outlook windows open behind and I do get the preview screen and can not close them with the x button...

    HI
I have the same issue with Office 2013 Outlook 2013, but with W8, Outlook crasjes after starting upp.(Same problem with Lync 2013)
After investigating, I found out that the driver to Matrox M9138, the WDM one, was causing this. I found out, if I used the std driver in win8, Outlook worked. A soon as I uppdated to 4.03.00.147
WDDM NoWHQL W8 Beta, Outlook 2013 krasjet.
Without the Matrox 4.03 xxx drivers, I can't use the 2 other screens, so this is not a option.
It seems that its not the power desk app that is the issue, but the drivers....
Not sure if this is something that must be solved in the Matrox driver, or Outlook 2013.
My solution for this problem, was to dropp Office 2013, and  for 2010.....
I hope this helps you guys to find a solution to this problem.....
I just came aware of that, the Matrox driver is in Beta... maybe the will solve this the next driver(been waiting since dec 2012)

  • Outlook 2013 will not save Compact Navigation Option setting

We have started upgrading some of the machines in our office from Office 2010 to 2013, (win7 and win 8 machines). I have found that Outlook will not save the selection of "compact navigation" in the "Folder Pane/Options" settings. I
have tried a complete uninstall/reinstall of office 2013, resetting cleanviews, profile, etc. I cannot get it to save this setting. It always goes back to the extra large "Mail, Calendar, People, tasks" navigation. Any ideas? This is happening on
muiltiple machines that we have upgraded from Office 2010.

Copying answer from similarly asked question:
FOR THE FIRST STRING (To keep a compact navigation pane):
Press the START button and type in "regedit"
On the left side drill down to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options]
Under EDIT in the toolbar select NEW>KEY and name it WunderBar. Make sure you have the new key selected.
Under EDIT in the toolbar select NEW>DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it ABCompact. Make sure you select it.
Under EDIT in the tool bar select MODIFY and change the value to 00000001
FOR THE SECOND STRING (To modify the order of the navigation items):
    With regedit still open.
On the left side drill down to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences]
Under EDIT in the toolbar select NEW>String Value and name it ModuleOrderAB. Make sure you select it.
Under EDIT in the tool bar select MODIFY and change the value to 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
Adjusting the order of the numbers will adjust the order they appear in. For instance in my case I wanted NOTES to show up fourth so my string is 1,2,3,5,4,6,7,8,9.

  • Search within Outlook 2013 will not search subject unless i specify "subject:()"

I am having an issue with Outlook 2013 where if I search for lets say "computer" and I have a message with the word "computer" in the subject line, it does not find it. If i search for "subject:(computer)" then it finds it.
It's as if keyword searching isn't working but if I specify where I want it to search it works. I tried doing it on a computer that did not have any Office updates and it works as it should so I have a feeling that it must be an update that changed the functionality.
Is anyone aware of this issue?

    Hi,
Please try to delete and rebuild index to check the result. To do this, click in the Search box, under
SEARCH tab, click Search Tools > Search Options > Indexing Options >
Advanced button > Click Rebuild button. Restart Outlook to check the result.
If problem persists, we can also try to run a repair of your Office installation to check the result, To do this, please refer:

Please let me know the result.

I tried rebuilding the index and doing an office repair but neither helped. I tried it on another computer and had the same issue. Only place I get it to work is when no office updates have been installed. I am not sure when this stopped working so I cannot
pinpoint which update might have caused it.

  • HELP Please!!! Outlook 2013 will NOT remember credentials

    Good morning all,
Can someone offer some assistance please, I have a stand alone computer, I use Outlook 2013. Just two days ago Outlook would not remember my credentials. So, here is what I have done so far...oh this is for EXCHANGE
    1. I deleted all the credentials in the credential manager
    2. I deleted the EXCHANGE profile
    3. I reset the profile PW on the exchange servers
However, NONE of this works. Where is the information for the credentials stored so in the registry...or if someone has a suggestion that might help, I welcome the assistance.
    Thank you,

    Hi,
It seems Outlook keeps prompting for password? Make sure you have not ticked this option below:
FILE -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> E-mail tab, double click on the account name -> More Settings -> Security tab -> Always prompt for logon credentials.
As it is a standalone computer, I suggest you configure Outlook Anywhere use NTLM Authentication:
FILE -> Account Settings -> Account Settings -> E-mail tab, double click on the account name -> More Settings -> Connection tab -> Tick Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP, then click Exchange Proxy Settings button -> Under Proxy
authentication settings, select NTLM Authentication -> OK.
Using NTLM Authentication can significantly reduce the number of password prompts.

  • Safari will not let me save pdf

im not sure but Safari 5.1.5 will not let me save pdf?

A couple of thoughts.  It appears there may be two issues--one is saving a PDF that Safari has loaded in the browser window, while the second (which is the one John was talking about) is saving a standard HTML page as a PDF document.
For the PDF loaded in Safari:  Is it possible you might have loaded up a third party PDF ready (like Adobe Acrobat Reader) that might have installed itself to handle PDFs in Safari?  I've not checked, but wonder if that might disable the "normal" Safari options that would be available with Preview.
If the PDF is displayed, you should get a black box at the bottom of the window if you place the mouse cursor there while Safari has focus.  While not perfect, if you select the far right icon it will save the PDF to your Downloads folder.  If you select the second from the right, it will load the PDF into a stand-alone instance of your standard PDF reader and from there you would be able to save the file anywhere you want using a Save As command in the reader.
For HTML to PDF--that is controlled with the Print command, using the option at the lower left of the print dialog to print to PDF (which is the menu John showed you).  That works for all files *except* PDFs (since printing a password protected PDF to a new PDF would effectively strip the password and would also strip out other features of the PDF, you aren't allowed to print PDFs to PDF).

  • Computer will not send printing to printer.

Computer is HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC which is wireless & has Windows 7 OS 64-bit.  Printer is HP Officejet 6500 Wireless.  Wireless router is Linksys WRT120N.  Printer says No computer connection, refer to device documentation to troubleshoot.  Printer will copy but computer will not send printing to the printer.   I am connected to the internet.  Normally when I come home I just click on the printer icon & make it the default printer & I'm all set.  However, this year when I got home (winter in another state), it does not work!!  The only thing that changed was we had trouble with our cable in the other state, but I thought it was the router, so I made another connection which didn't work either.  So the cable technician fixed it for me, taking off the additional networking icons I made in error.  So I feel that the problem is in the networking but don't know how to fix it!!!  Thanks for your help!!

    Hi senior2,
It is hard to say what may have happened that cause the laptop to love connectivity with the printer or the printer lose connectivity with the network.
    A links for you:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01669504.pdf : Check out page 217 "Solve network problems" and "solve wireless problems".  Continue reading through 223.
Some things to try that ma be repeatsof the user guide....honestly not sure if any will help but it will help with next steps I think.
    1)  Does the printer obtain an IP address.  Can you access it through the embedded web server?   If the answer is yes, the problem is likely on the PC.   If connected Wireless it should have the wireless LED On.
    2) If the printer does not obtain an IP address, double check the settings match your network.
    3) Double check your Laptop LAN Is properly configured for your.
Hope this helps.  If not, post back and let us know what you tried.
