Pacman packages list export without version number

Hi all!
I'd like to know if there is a way to export a package-list without the version of every package to be able to export the installed packages, edit the exported file and after that have a list which I can use to setup another computer with the same packages.
pacman -Q
just gives me the packages with version info and I need the package names separated by only one space.
Or is there another solution to export and then install the packages in a text-file?
For example:
Computer A: -> generate package-list
Computer B: -> import/read package-list from Computer A and tell pacman to install all those packages as well.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Micha

Ahhh, thanks again!
I should get into the shell a bit deeper soon
And to give something as well, here's the detailed reason I was asking. I put a little script into the ~/.kde/Autostart folder that creates that list of packages after each boot so when something "happenes" to the system (I know, it's not likely , I have a fairly recent package-list.
The script now looks like this:
sudo pacman -Q|cut -f 1 -d " " > packages.`date +%y%m%d%H%M`
and that list I will gladly "import" with your last command!
I don't know if this is useful for anyone else but me, but... anyhow
Thanks again!

  • MF60 : Pull List printout without batch number

    Dear guru ,
    I create a stock reservation (mtype 311) for a specific material batch number running MF60.
    In the replenishment proposal printout  the batch number is missing.
    How can I add the batch number in the printout ?
    Thanks.

    is it standard print or ur own form format.
    if ur own then ask abaper to have batch no also in the output.
    and if its standrad, i think it should be there since as per my knowledge batch no will come in all print if there are any print for that.

  • Explain AUR Version Number Please

    Hello. I want to understand package versions. The one puzzling me is tilde. Why does its version end with hyphen? I can't see why from the PKGBUILD file. The upstream code lives in git, if that helps. Thanks.
    https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/tilde/

    ForumVoice wrote:Hmm, seems unlikely. He packages for other distros, mainly.... I don't think he knows the AUR very well yet.
    This does not follow - how does having no experince with packing for archlinux make it less lilkely that he did something wrong?
    ForumVoice wrote:The tarballs must work.
    What do you mean?  Many aur packages do not 'work'.  This is unfortunate, but we can't pretend that it is not true.  For this one, does the built package end with a hyphen, or is it just on the web interface?  I was going to check this myself, but it has two dependencies from the AUR only, and one of those has several AUR-only dependencies.  I stopped at that point, it's not worth the effort for me just to find out if this builds a package with a odd version number.  It looks to me like it should be a normally numbered package and the error is only on the web interface.
    ForumVoice wrote:What about this PKGBUILD line,
    install=''
    That is unneeded, but perfectly fine.  It is just an empty variable.

  • PO Version Number not available in PO List displays (ME2L, ME2K, etc)

    I have configured PO Version Management. My PO's are working as desired with proper output.
    However, the PO Version Number is not displayed in my PO List Display tcodes (ME2L, ME2K, etc) nor is it available to add to the layout.  I have configured the Scope of List for "BEST" (PO's) to include change documents. However, there is nothing when I go to ME2L for a PO that has 15 versions. I have verified that EKKO does contain the latest version number for this PO.
    Have I missed a config step??

    Thank you - I did post in MM once I realized I posted in SRM.
    I realize that only the current version is displayed in these transactions. But I need to see the actual version number - no the history - just the current version number. We use these reports to supply our Internal Auditors with PO Data and they require to see the PO # and Version # without having to actually pull up each PO individually in the system.
    I had assumed that since they use EKKO and EKKO contains REVNO that REVNO would be available in my layout and I could simply add it to the report. However, this is not the case.
    Thanks,

  • Powershell update Field Value without changing version number

    I want to update a value in a field in a list for a lot of list items.
    However, this list has major and minor versioning turned on, and an approval process.
    When I update the field's value for all the required list items, I don't want the approval process to start and I don't want the version number to change.
    How can I do this?
    This is my code so far:
    $siteUrl = "http://portal"
    $listName = "list name"
    $field1_Name = "category"
    $web = Get-SPWeb -Identity $siteUrl
    $list = $web.Lists[$listName]
    $items = $list.Items
    ForEach ($item in $items)
        if ($item[$field1_Name].ToString() -eq "testing")
     $url = [String]::Format("{0}/{1}",$web.Url, $item.File.URl)
         $file = $web.GetFile($url)
     $file.CheckOut()
     write-host $item.name
           $item[$field1_Name] = "testing again"
           $item.Update()
     $file.CheckIn("updated category name", [Microsoft.Sharepoint.SPCheckinType]::MajorCheckIn))
    $web.Dispose()

    Instead of calling $item.Update() call $item.SystemUpdate($false);  That will update the fields without incrementing he version number of the listitem.  Read about it here:

  • Listing packages to update without updating.

    Ok, here is the scenario.
    I want to setup a cron that would run pacman daily, and send me the output as to which packages COULD be updated, without actually updating them.
    something like pacman -Sy?
    I don't know what to put in for the question mark. If I put in u, it prompts to actually perform the update. I just wan't to list what COULD be updated, not start trying to do an update.
    Any ideas?
    I could likely hack something together where I setup a script to run packman and then kill it after it stops generating output, but that is very ugly, and I would prefer to just have pacman output a list of potential upgrades, then just sent that to myself. This would be great for administering servers.

    Proceed with upgrade? [Y/n]
    As stated above, I could just pipe "n" to pacman, but that seems inelegant to me. I would prefer to have the package manager just output the potential changes without needing something like that. Must be just me though...thank god for open source.
    Anyway, pacman -Su does not download updates from the repo anyway, so it would be fetching against outdated material..
    pacman -Syu still suffers from the above fate, as well as the progress bar output if new package lists are fetched from the repo....
    I guess this is just something that I alone think would be cool/useful. So be it. I will endeavor to make it happen for myself nonetheless.

  • Question nVidia Chipset Drive Package Version Number.

    Question nVidia Chipset Drive Package Version Number.
    Hope this question is in the right sub forum.
    I have see this question asked on several Forums, but never see a answer.
    How do you tell which Chipset Driver Package Version is installed on your system, other than going to the Device Manager calling up the properties for each device and record the version number and comparing it to what listed for the Drive Package version?
    Roger

    I agree with you Richard.
    I wouldn't say super fast ram though, I buy Crucial. It is very nice ram and does not break the bank. (no heatsinks on it or any other expenses)
    Maybe I offended you, Bcc, by accident. I'm just trying to help folks on these forums and I have been with the nforce since day one. I have never seen this issue happen (or anything like it) on this board.
    Like my suggestion, (if that didn't work, I would have continued to work) if I couldn't disable the agp host I would have uninstalled it (the device itself) and let windows try again. It could have been an nforce package issue and not with the detonator. I wish when these problems occurred, that I had the opportunity to try and fix these very rare occurences and examine the issue at my own desk.
    I see too many people jump to the conclusion that they have found the mystery bug and go tell nvidia to recall the boards and fix it. I would not try to tell you that you are clueless about computers, as I don't have any idea how well you know them. But as an experienced technical writer/helper, I'm inclined to speak to the people as if they are dumb. As you can guess, many aren't, and they think that I may be saying they are, but at least they understand the situation.
    More than the majority of problems are caused by heat. Too much heat will cause funny things to start happening to your computer. Sometimes it's just the ram, or maybe the cpu that get overheated. With summer coming, it's prime time to see the 'heat' problem creep up. I'm sure this wasn't the case with your issue, but it is overlooked most of the time.
    Anyway, I'm glad your happy and your problem is fixed.

  • Display Package version number in HTML?

    Hi,
    My customer wants to display the version number of the apps/xx package in the HTML.
    I'm just wondering if this is a good idea, i.e. the actual package contents could be overwritten, but the package doesn't change.
    Also - how could that be achieved?  There is a services JSP in the CRX package manager - could that be used?

  • Where is the EXACT version number shown?  Where is the menu link to the Help file?  Why is there no scroll bar?  The new iTunes is terrible in more ways than I can list... how do I switch back to version 10?

    The newest iTunes version has no Help option.  Why?  And, no ability to find out the version number.
    The new iTunes, when in album view in Windows 7, has NO SCROLLBARS, so it is impossible to scroll the albums.  Why?
    Answer these questions, as I am an AAPL shareholder and I am NOT happy with these and other changes you've made to iTunes.

    The newest iTunes version has no Help option.  Why?  And, no ability to find out the version number.
    You may need to bring up your Menu Bar to see the Help menu.
    If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
    Once you've got your Help menu showing, go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen, as per the previous versions.

  • Getting squid to refresh package lists

    I have set up a squid proxy server to cache for my home LAN. It is serving old package lists to pacman when I want to update a PC.
    I have tried adding the following to /etc/squid/squid.conf
    refresh_pattern \.pacman$ 0 0% 0
    Is there another pattern I could try to use, rather than \.pacman$  ...? I do not know what the file names of the package lists are.
    Is 'refresh_pattern' the right way to keep the package lists from being cached?

    Jerome.
    Hi jerome,
    we use the approach quoted above. Our company has to support a lot of
    databases:, at the time there are: HSQL, PostGres, DB2 v7 + 8, Oracle v8-10 and
    MS SQL-Server.
    Indeed for each database we generate the scripts upfront, which on the one side
    is a lot of work (made easy with schematool), but for us the sql-scripts belong
    to proper versioning the database schema.
    Often later we (when products were sold) change the database schema and have to
    provide update scripts (which sometimes have to copy data from old fields to new
    ones ) ... at least then we need sql-scripts so all work before pays off.
    Running schematool on a production database (which already is filled with data)
    would be a nightmare for us, because it wouldn't result in reproducable database
    layouts (and worse it could destroy data). And without a reproducable schema we
    can't think of doing support (for instance running individual statistics on some
    data)

  • How do I make my iPhoto Library's version number appear in the Get Info window?

    I recently (within the past 2 weeks) purchased a new 27 inch iMac and have been importing data (applications and files) from my 2010 Macbook Pro via AirDrop.  One of the first files I migrated over was my iPhoto Library.  I doing so, I noticed a few differences between its file attributes and those of the iPhoto Library file created by default on my new computer - two of which I'll note here.  First, I noticed that the file resident on my new OS was labeled iPhoto Library.photolibrary while my older version did not have the ".photolibrary" extension.  That seemed simple enough to correct so I added that extension to my old library file.  The second difference I'd note - and the source of my question - is that the default iPhoto Library file displayed a version number (9.5.1) in its "Get Info" window, while mine did not.  I checked my file's info.plist file and the correct information seems to be listed.  It reads (in part):
    <dict>
                   <key>CFBundleGetInfoString</key>
                   <string>iPhoto Libary 9.5.1</string>
                   <key>CFBundleShortVersionString</key>
                   <string>9.5.1</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    I'm not sure this is really a question for the iPhoto community, as it seems like a more general issue; but, this is my first post to these forums, and I didn't know where to start.  Thanks in advance for the advise/suggestions.

    In terms of the info.plist file, I only reviewed it to see why I wasn't seeing the version number in the GetInfo window.
    The string "<key>CFBundleGetInfoString</key>
                   <string>iPhoto Libary 9.5.1</string>"
    is exactly what will be shown in the Get Info panel. I tested that by simply editing this string in a test library using XCode. I could "Get Info" to show ridiculous versions numbers this way.
    However, none of my older iPhoto libraries will show the version string in Get Info, only libraries I created with iPhoto 9.5.1. or Aperture 3.3 or later.
    There is probably one of the other database files in the folder "database" - *.appdb and *.db  interfering.  None of the Library First Aid options did make the version number show for my older iPhoto libraries - not even rebuilding the iPhoto library. The only way I could make the version number show in "Get Info" was by exporting the library as a new library using Aperture. But this exported library is now showing as Aperture library.

  • How to export application version??

    Hello all
    Environment: NW 5.1 SP7, ZFD3.2 SP2
    I need to do a data export of the following info:
    Export fields: Asset.Tag, OS, Application name and Application version.
    Basically I am querying for an application name and I want the
    workstation Asset Tag, the workstation OS and application version of a
    specific application to be exported.
    My query is set to match "Application X%". However when the query runs -
    it returns a list of all workstations with Application X - which is
    correct, but it also returns the Application Version number of every
    other application on the workstation that has "Application X" installed.
    All that I would like to export is the Application Version number
    for "Application X".
    I have tried many types of queries and have not had any luck. Please
    assist.
    Thanks for your advice in advance.
