Password expires in Online Apex account automatically

Hi,
I am using APEX online account for my application. From morning till evening the admin password works fine.
But the next day morning, when I enter the password, it says the password is not valid. Each time I have to request "Reset password".
Why is this eccor occuring, please let me know. Also tell me the best way to resolve this error.

Hi. I have a problem with expired passwords. We are using APEX 2.2.0 with Oracle 10g. This morning the APEX_PUBLIC_USER and HTMLDB_PUBLIC_USER accounts passwords expired. We have a really weird setup. Our DBA team owns these accounts and our web server team manages the APEX application itself. When the passwords expired, our DBA changed them from Oracle, not from within APEX. Now we are unable to access our application. We get the following error message:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /pls/apex/f on this server.
The DBA won't reset the passwords to their prior value because it's against corporate policy to resuse them. The web server team does not know how to go in to APEX and enter the new values. Can someone point me to documentation that explains what we need to do? I just want to get these two teams working together so that my users can get back to work!

Mike - All you have to do is change the database account password to a new value and enter that same password into the DAD definition, obfuscating it in that file if your policy so dictates.
Application Express, per se, doesn't know anything about that account's attributes such as its password so there is no interface provided for its maintenance.

How to diable password expire feature

Could you let me know how to disable password expire feature in apex 4.1.0.00.32. for all admin accounts(We have 40 workspaces with different adnmin accounts).
I have checked all individual admin account in each workspace, the password expire check box is un-checked, but it still expired the account. What else I can do?

Online Apex and DB privileges

I currently have an online apex account, however when I select Utilities -> about database, I am asked for credentials that have been granted the DBA role..
Can I have these credentials?
Also.. I am looking to connect JDeveloper to this online database, is this possible.. I would need the above credentials for starters..
Any pointers here would be appreciated.

I think it is not possible.
If you are going to a db using jdev you must be able to "connect" to the db. Your Apex account gives you a db connection through Apex. So, all the configuration info to enable that connection is hidden within the Apex development environment.
Think that if you can connect with jdev, maybe someone else would like to do the same developing with php, or something else.

DS 6.2 and password expiration

I'm having problems enforcing password expiration with DSEE. We have two Solaris 10 DSEE 6.2 servers configured with multi-master replication. The clients are running Solaris 8 (117350-47 Jun 2007 kernel patch level), and are using pam_ldap authentication.
Using either telnet (just as a test) or ssh to login, I don't receive warnings of password expiration, nor is the account locked after passwordExpirationTime is exceeded.
As an example, I can still authenticate as a user with this passwordExpirationTime:

If your DS6 instance is in DS5-compatible-mode (see above references), passwordExpirationTime is not ignored; however, please note that modifying server operational attributes via protocol has never been supported.
A supported way to force a user to change his or her password (without administratively resetting the password) would be to define a specialized password policy with a small max-age value (but maintaining the relationship pwdMinAge+pwdExpireWarning<pwdMaxAge), and use Roles/CoS to scope the policy to the user entry that requires a password change, but for which the password has not yet been changed. A value of pwdChangedTime in the past (or its absence from the entry) would indicate that the password had not yet been changed as requested. If the DS6 instance is in DS5-compatible-mode, you will need to enable grace logins via passwordWarning in the policy, while if the DS6 instance is in DS6-migration-mode or DS6-mode, you will also need to enable grace logins via pwdGraceAuthNLimit in the policy. Otherwise, the user cannot bind with an expired password.
OpenDS includes a "must-change-by" feature in the password policy that simplifies configuring the specialized password policy, but I'm not aware of any plans to add this feature to DS6.

Accounts getting disabled after enabling password expiration on BOXI R2 SP2

Hi All,
We have a strange issue with our production environment.After enabling password expiration on the enterprise some accounts got disabled,on further investigation I found that these users were either trying to log on to Designer or 2 tier Deski.
I made them login through the Infoview to fix the issue.These users were Universe deginer or report writers.
Any Suggestions

These accounts are Enterprise accounts,according to the users they were not given a chance and they never got any prompt for the password change it was disabled directly at the first login.
These people were trying to logon using the Desginer or 2 Tier DESKI login and they are the members of the Administrtor Group also.
Is it important to logon to infoview or 3 tier DESKI to change your password?
I have no answer to give them why there accounts were disabled.

WLC 4402 username and password expires automatically

Hi,
We are facing issue with Cisco WLC 4402 (Cisco AireOS Version 4.2.205.0) and username and password expired automatically. It happens very often. We are not able to retreive the password, so everytime we need to reset(factory default) the Cisco WLC4402 and doing fresh installation.
Whether it is the hardware issue or software bug.
Also is there any possibility of recover the username and [password with resetting the cisco wlc4402.
Kindly suggest on this issue.

Hmmm.. Strange!! are we using any TACACS to manage?? or just the management username and password??
I guess after 5.2 WLC code or so we have the option of resetting the password without losing the config!!

ISE password expiration for Admin account issue

OK .. we have been working on getting ISE up and running for a little while now and I have come across an odd and reoccurring issue with my admin accounts. I cannot figure out if there is something that we have missed in the setup or if there is and actual issue with the password policies. It seems that there is a "user" type password policy and then there is an "admin" type policy and am trying ti figure out if they are stepping on each other or something. I am running version 1.2.0.899 with patch 5,1.
Here is the issue. I have started receiving password expiration reminders for the two admin accounts I have setup on the cluster. I have my address setup for an admin user named "admin" and an admin user named "wberry" and I receive two different e-mails for both accounts. The issue that I have is the dates listed in the e-mails. This is one e-mail that I get:
The password for your local admin "wberry" is expiring on Mon Jun 01 09:43:03 CDT 2015. Please update immediately, by going to https://mem7700.spd.mli.corp/admin, signing-in, and clicking on the user name at the upper right corner.
This is the second email that I get for the same account:
Your network access password will expire on Thu Dec 03 08:43:03 CST 2015. Please contact your system administrator for assistance .
As you can see the dates in the two messages are completely different. My admin policy is set with expired 180 days after creation and last change and the reminder is set to 10 days prior to expiration. The user password policy lifetime is also 365 days if password not changed with the reminder after 355 days.

Apply password period expire policy to resource accounts

Hi! In IDM 7.1 I know can apply Password Period Expire Policy to Lighthouse account. It's simple and It works so well.
But, I ' d like to know how can I apply a password period expire policy to resource accounts to synchronize as Lighthouse as resources accounts (i.e. LDAP accounts, etc.).
I knew in previous versions of IDM wasn't possible.

Figures the solution form my own Q....
I had pass through configured with LDAP to a login module group - which had the following as the order.
1. LDAP
2. IDM
As LDAP resource adaptor does not support expiry, we have to look for the IdM Expiry. so i reversed the order so that IdM takes precedence in resolving the value of 'loginwarning" on the end user dashboard.
Anyways in my environment, All password resets are handled from IdM so the Pass through wont hurt.

My iCloud account password expires every three months, how can I change this?

For a long while ago, that every three months my iCloud password expires. This indeed could be a nice security feature, but I don't find any settings to change it back. I guess there is no way, for me, to change this setting, could support do that for me?

I don't think there is an expiration, since I still use my password I set up some time ago; however Apple's servers that are responsible for security, reacts to any suspicious activity on your account and requests reset, e.g. if you purchase a new app while on vacationing in another country or your kids playing on your Mac and trying to enter an incorrect password, which I'm thinking both instances would trigger a security flag on your account. You may want to call Apple and speak with them concerning this to see if that might help.

Turn off Password never expires on local administrator account

we have some servers where the Password Never Expires flag is checked , and I am trying to find out a scripting way to uncheck these option so that password expires on the Local administrator account(Not AD Account).

11.2.0.2 db account password expired

I have inherited a systme with db 11.2.0.2.
the application fails due to the app schema password expired. No one knows what is the password.
I do not want to change the original password, at least for now in concerning on things geting more complicated.
I thought I could reset the passwd and put the original by
alter user XXX identified by values "*****";
But I found (by SYS) the field password in dba_users is null.
Am I out luck?

Mail V3.1 can not create a new Cablevision Optimum Online mail account

Apple Technical support asked me to report this on this forum.
I have OS X 10.5.1 with Mail 3.1. My ISP is Cablevision Optimum Online, which uses mail.optonline.net as their POP and SMTP servers.
Pre-existing mail accounts, created under 10.4.x (Tiger) work perfectly. I am unable to create a new mail account with this version of the mail program. Mail's Add Account dialog (wizard) hangs as soon as it tries to connect to the mail.optonline.com server. After a long time trying it just says it can not connect to the server. This happens if I choose the new (and default) "Automatically set up account" option or not. It happens on multiple Leopard systems. In other words, when the mail account setup wizard checks for connectivity to the mail.optonline.net POP server, it fails, even though the mail program has no problem interacting with that same server with accounts set up under a previous version.
We brought a MacBook to the Apple store, and the tech. at the genius bar could not get it to work. He said call the ISP. We did that, spent hours with the ISP tech who told me many people are complaining about this. I suspected it was a problem with the way Mail 3.1 was doing its initial connectivity check. Perhaps using an incompatible port (SSL setting perhaps).
After a good nights sleep, I figured out a work-around. I created a dummy GMail account, after it was created I modified it to have my Optonline account specifications, turned off SSL and it worked.
After I had circumvented this problem, someone else that had the same problem found a different resolution. We both also had .mac accounts defind. When they deleted their .Mac account from the mail program, they were able to create a new Optonline.net account. .Mac uses SSL.... interesting.
Thus, it seems that if you have a .Mac account with Mail 3.1 you can not create an Optonline.net account. A bug that I hope Apple fixes quickly.

iLounge had some good info on this topic. The KEY INFO in the post was that after you have gotten the account set up you need to turn off your WiFi router (if you have one) to reset it.

Based on the information I read here and on iLounge I was able to get Optonline email working.
1) Deleted my Dot Mac mail accounts in Apple Mail
2) Created an Optonline account based on the details above from Optonline in Apple Mail
3) Unplugged my Airport Extreme Base Station, waited 20 seconds, plugged it back in.
4) I was then able to receive mail but not send on the Optonline SMTP server
5) So...I then went back and checked the details on the Optonline account in Apple Mail. Not sure why but the SSL/authentication selections were changed. So I set them correctly based on the information above and saved. That worked and I was able to send email.
As you are having trouble with Apple Mail and Optonline (why else would you be reading this?) let me also mention that Optonline blocks Port 25 for outbound email so if you have non-Optimum Online email accounts and want to send email on that ISP's server you will not be able to do that unless (a) you pay Cablevision more for a business or boost account (b) use webmail (c) your ISP is willing to provide you with an alternative email port other than 25.

Manage Telstra Online Security account

Log into MyBigPond, using your BigPond email address and password if you want to do the following:
If you want Telstra Online Security to protect more than one computer click on an Orange Install button.
If all your licenses are in use, you can hover over the green button to get more information about the install.
If you wish to protect another different computer but all the licences are green, press a green button to reset and install on this computer
If you need to change your payment details, change from paying monthly to paying one year in advance, change how you pay your subscription fee, switch from Credit Card to Telstra Bill or correct your Credit Cards details if they have changed

I want to know if Telstra online security is active on my account or any other active antivirus software. It tells me it DOES but I often receive pop-ups that tell me it's expired or inactive. I never click on the pop-ups for fear they are actually malware.
I want to know if my computer has any malware that may effect it.
I tried to access your free malware scan but couldn't find anywhere to activate it - just information about it.
