Past due account suspended

I lost my job and have been struggling to pay all of my bills. I recently just got a job 3 days ago and will receive a paycheck this coming Monday. I do not want my account to be canceled due to me not being able to pay this $495. I spoke to someone at AT&T and made a payment arrangement and let them know what was happening with me. The man from customer service said they would work with me through my difficult time and now my account has been suspended and I have no way to reach the outside world. No way for my new job to contact me. No way for me to call AT&T customer service to speak with anyone. I am curious to know if someone from customer service could make sure my account does not get cancelled. I've never had an issue like this in the 4 years I've been with AT&T. I've always paid my bill on time or before the due date. It's upsetting to feel like I was lied to by the customer service representative who I spoke to who said that AT&T would work with me. I do not want to lose my phone number as my 4 year old daughter knows it by heart. Please someone respond to me and tell me my account will not be canceled for this ONE time of me being late to pay my bill.

If the original CS rep made notes, then hopefully they will honor the agreement and restore your service. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

  • Past due account and upgrading my device?

I went to try to upgrade my device at a Radioshack store in town a couple hours ago, but the transaction couldn't due. The lady couldn't tell me why, but she said it was because of a "past debt" with Verizon. I have a bill of about but $175, but it isn't due yet.
I added a new line of service to my account in April with no problem, bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 at a price of $200, and everything was fine.
Went to upgrade to an iPhone 5 at Radioshack, and it couldn't be done. Again, my account isn't past due. My balance isn't set to be due for a few days.
I called, and apparently I have a past-due account with Verizon from 2012 of about $78.71... no idea where this amount came from, or how it came about. I came to Verizon in 2011, with a brand new number. Didn't transfer a number from an old carrier. I haven't changed numbers since then, or anything like that. I've had the same number since 2011. However, a Verizon rep told me the past-due account is from 2012.
The only thing I can think of is when someone in my household got T-Mobile last year... there was a big problem where they tried to transfer their number to the new T-Mobile account, but instead, they transfered mine. So my number was on a T-Mobile account. I was on the phone with Verizon for an entire weekend trying to get the situation resolved, and finally did. That's the only reason I can think of.
My account at the time is up-to-date, and has been up-to-date. I've never had my service with Verizon shut off in my two years of being with them. I've never missed a payment, and my payments have never been as low as $78... so again, makes me wonder where that $78 came from. I've tried calling Verizon and been transfered from customer care to billing to account recovery and everything else. They can't seem to tell me where the amount came from, just that it came from 2012 and then request a payment.

I have with that as well... my parents got the T-Mo account last year. They have a zero balance on their account as of last Thursday.

  • Collection agency keeps renewing past due account please help

Hello everyone.  I have a collection agency ERC that first showed on all 3 of my credit reports back when i pulled a report in 2010.  At that time, ERC (acting on behalf of Sprint) was reporting a collection account opened 12/1/2008 with a balance of $2,076.  A partial account number is provided 157XXXXXX.  I have never spoken to anyone regarding this. Fast forward to last month when i decided i wanted to really fix up my credit.  I pulled my credit reports again and it shows ERC still BUT only this time it shows "plced for collections 12/30/2014, for $2,104 and a different partial account number #11741XXX. My question is, since i never spoke to them ackoqwleding even the orginal debt, how can they restart the collection clock?  It's now showing a possible 2019 deletion date on an account that was placed for collections in 2008 which i NEVER acknowledged! Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes the account was mine, but grossly inflated. I thought If at anytime after an account is first placed into collections and on your report if you acknowledge that debt it restarts the reporting time clock.Depending on the state the SOL can be extended based on, usually a written acknowledgement, but that does not change the DOFD, I can't speak with certainty how this affects you but I have some experience in research, this thread I believe speaks directly to your point: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Rebuilding-Your-Credit/quot-The-law-limits-how-long-you-can-be-sued-on-a-debt-quot/td-p/1891703/page/2 There are two aspects: the exclusion time period i.e. how long it can be reported which I beleive is 7 years plus 180 days from the DOFD that preceded the original CO/deliquency. Then there is the actionable aspect of sueing you for said debt which I beleive is governed by the SOL previously mentioned AND the admittance that the debt is yours that would be used in court to prove thier case. This is why you do not want to admit the debt is yours as you would loose your case before it started, but if you choose to pay the debt prior to being sued than it is not relevant. Paying debts that are yours is one thing, which you should do, admitting guilt and thus incrimintating yourself you are under no obligation to do, legally or otherwise. everyone know that standard comment: "I, John Doe, refuse to answer on the grounds that I may incriminate myself"

  • Need to suspend account that is past due. I am overseas and will be for a while.

    Hello,
Verizon support, please contact me through this or my email. My account is currently past due and is accruing charges. My family and myself have been in South Korea since June of 2014. I am in the military and stationed overseas. We plan on being here until the summer of 2016.
I need to suspend the account and fix the payments that have been piling up for a service I am not using.
I do not have access to twitter or face book.
Please respond soonest. Time is a luxury I do not have. As a commander of Soldiers overseas, I typically spend over 80 hours a week at work, am on call 24/7, and spend weeks at a time with no access to communications. If I do not have a response in the next 20 hours, you will not get a response from me until around 23 February, I will be away from any access to communications.
Thank you for any support rendered.

First and foremost, thank you for your commitment to our country and my freedom.  I am grateful for you as well as all of the other military hero's serving home and away.
Now, would you happen to have someone state side that could help you with this situation?  Maybe get a copy of your orders to them and they can help you get this taken care of?  As Ann mentioned, you'll still be responsible for charges already incurred but at least you can help put a stop the future charges.  The VZW reps don't always chime in and even if/when they do, they don't always respond in a timely manner.  Your best bet would find a friend or relative in the states that would act on your behalf to get this taken care of.  Unfortunately, I wouldn't put much hope into getting your situation resolved here on the forums.

  • Can someone (ANYONE!) Please tell me why my account still has a $299 past due balance?

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in early November I received my new iPhone 6 Plus on the Edge plan.
There was no return label in the box, so I contacted support and a label was shipped to me in a couple of days.
I sent the old iPhone 5 back in the box with that return label within the 14 day recommended period and went on with my life.
It is now December 29th, over two months after you (Verizon Edge) received my old phone (I tracked it) and the $299 charge is STILL on my account!
I spent over an hour in the store near my home on December 15th and was assured by the store employee that Verizon Edge HAD received my phone but that financials were backed up and it might take a few more days for the charge to be removed from my account.
Meanwhile, I had been receiving 3-4 annoying automated calls per day from you saying to pay my past due bill.
    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Last week, my service was suspended for.... you guessed it!.... non payment of the past due amount!
I immediately called customer service AGAIN and had to ask to speak to a supervisor after the CSR I first talked to said she couldn't help me.
The supervisor put me on hold, then came on the line and said he had verified that you HAD received my phone.
He put my account on an equipment hold (so that I wouldn't get shut off again) and AGAIN assured me that the charge would soon be off my account.
    Guess what?!?!?!?!
The $299 charge is still there!
I have been a customer for over 15 years and have never had my phone shut off for non-payment or any other reason.
I want the $299 charge off my bill NOW.
And if this shows up on my credit report (and I check it regularly!) as a late or non-payment situation, I am contacting your legal department and I am going to sue Verizon Wireless for pain and suffering, stress, financial hardship, and anything else my lawyer can think of to add.
    PLEASE resolve this issue today.

        Hi Julz32!
I don't like waiting either! Have you received any confirmation about the trade in? Please contact our Trade in department at 877-247-3846 by phone, or [email protected]  by email for a resolution.
    Thanks!

I have been with Verizon since 1995 (I was an employee for years). I attempted to upgrade 2 of the 4 lines on our account today, but couldn't. We have an outstanding balance (though we have received no past due notice via mail, email, or text and make regular payments every month) that I would love to pay, but our bank account number was stolen, so we can't access our account until Monday. Because we were unable to pay our outstanding balance, we were told we can't order the phones today during the special promotion (that ends today). No one can help us, though we have no way of doing anything until Monday when our bank reopens and can reimburse us for the money that was stolen from us. No one in customer service can help us (they can't process the order but not ship until after we make payment on Monday, they won't honor today's promotion on Monday due to our special circumstance, nothing). They stated that "corporate" makes the rules and they have no idea how I can reach corporate to discuss the matter. Without the promotion, we will be charged full price for the phones on Monday, which will cost us an additional $300.00. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I hope that you aren't complaining about dropped calls INSIDE your condo because no amount of switching or upgrading devices will solve that.
VZW will not guarantee service inside of any structure. There are just too many factors. If the problem is inside then you might want to look at one of the following:
1.) Network Extender (may cause issues for others in a condo or apartment style setting)
2.) A Google Voice Number (Free with a Gmail email address), downloading Google Hangouts Dialer and forwarding your calls to the GVN so that you can make and receive calls over Wi-Fi.

  • Is it possible to upgrade a device when your account is past due?

I'm totally disgusted. Best Buy had The Galaxy 4  for FREE  until ten tonight. after waiting in line at bestbuy for 2 hours to do an upgrade on my eligible device. I was denied because my account was technically past due. I know it is. I have an automatic bank draft set up on my next payday Dec. 9th. When I called  customer service to ask if there was something They could  do for me the Barely English speaking agent said there  was nothing and he suggested I pay my past-due amount and  he would be happy to do that  right now so I could still make the sale.I explained I have arranged the payment and I can't pay it until then.I have been with verizon for nine years I have 5 phones with a monthly bill over 300.00. that's 3,600. a year and 36,000. plus all the phones and Accessories. I'm asking if I can sign another two year contract with you and your telling me that I can't. OR are you telling me That i shouldn't?

    mikeebiloxi wrote:
Yeah  I heard that from the last guy. I was asking if you could  do me an almost favor. I would  think that after  $36,00.00 you knew I was good for the $280.00.  the payment is setup for auto draft it's done. even if I didn't have the funds the bank would pay it out of my overdraft.
Being past due on your account is not really a good way to demonstrate that you are "good" for the amount you owe.  Just sayin'.
Pay your bill.  Pay it on time.  Pay all that you owe.  "Problem" solved.
Not sure why you would be owed a "favor".  Or even an "almost favor" (whatever that is.)

  • Account statements with 30 days past due items for customer

    Hi Guys,
My client wants to generate the account statements or  letters for customers whose open items are 30 days past due.I guess its related with dunning process not with generating regular statements using Tcode F.27. Could anyone please guide me what are the steps involved in achieving this scenario, and how system will capture the customer accounts outstanding  with line items 30 days over due.I be grateful. Thanks
    Iqtidar

In IMG -> Accounts Receivable ->Dunning->Basic Setting-> Define Dunning Area first and
Then define the dunning Procedure this where you will mention the due date after which you have to start the dunning procoss and the interval between 2 dunning level. Transaction code is FBMP
Attach the Dunning Procedure to the Customer Master ->Company Code Data -> Correspondence
Then run the Dunning Procedure in the Transaction Code : F150

  • Past due paid hours ago, still suspended? :c

I've paid my past due. Called financial services. Twice now I've been told it would be reconnected within ten to fifteen minutes.
It's been hours now and they're closed. After two phone calls of the same answer, and very calmly reassured that I would be back online I'm still waiting for service.
I really, really need to be connected tonight for work. It's hard making ends meet and after rushing to pay this cash, I was hoping I'd be online by now.
Do I really have to wait until tomorrow for a third call or is there something I can do? ;-; Please, thank you.

I believe financial services has to reactivate your device. I have read if you attempt to make a phone call it will send you to this department. However I don't know their hours of operation. Right now it is 9:11 PM EDT they may be closed.

  • Whay is my paid in full account suspended?

I have been a customer of Verizon Wireless since around 1990. Today my service  was interrupted. It was explained to me that this was due to a
returned check of $75. I knew the check would be returned due to a problem with my banks bill payment system and made payments of $186 and of $75 on 3/4/2013 to make good on that returned check. According to my inquires on-line and with VZW representatives nothing is currently due until 3/23/2013 (today is 3/18/2013, 5 days before my due date) which I intend to pay in full.
I escalated this to a Lauren who claimed to be a manager in the financial services department who explained that even though nothing is currently due and the account is up to date they need a payment of $75 because my make good payment actually hit their system before the check ACTUALLY bounced. Even though nothing is now due; even though I have made two payments since the returned check was originally submitted, one for the exact amount that the retuned check was for; even though I have been a customer of Verizon Wireless since about 1990, she indicated that there was nothing she could do unless I paid them $75 that is NOT currently due. I asked to escalate beyond Lauren but she claimed she is the highest level of employee that talks to customers.
I understand that VZW must ensure the financial soundness of the company, but this seems to be the way to drive away customers
and seems to be totally absurd. Nothing is currently due or past due, I have made subsequent payments to cover the "bad" check and to bring the account current and the fact that the customer in question, me, has been with VZW for more than 20 years with multiple accounts means nothing.
What is going on with VZW are they tired of customers. It would seem fitting in a situation like this to reconnect service and advise the customer that the computer automatically follows a set of rules that resulted in your suspension. Tell them you appreciate the account being up to date and fully paid and would like to remind them of their next payment due in 5 days.
Account in good status being suspended for $75 NOT yet due. Wow what a business model.

        Hi there supascience!
Wow, your loyalty since 1990 is greatly appreciated and we definitely don't want that to be put in jeopardy over this billing issue. With that said, I'm terribly sorry to learn about this and want you to know that we should be doing everything humanly possible to notify you of how our billing system works as well as how to resolve matters.
Given this situation, I would love to do some further research on your account to see what happened and make sure you get some proper information. At your convenience, please follow us and DM your mobile number. I look forward to receiving it!

I'm confused - If I go online to pay my bill, and it's one day after the due date, the current bill and full amount due would be the same?  If the current bill is not the "full amount due", then what is the extra amount that's snow showing past due?
Also, when I go in to pay my bill, I show the Current bill amount, total amount due (which are the same), and then a box where I can type in the amount I am paying, with the default amount being already filled in with the total amount.
    Is this a pre-paid or a post-paid (contract) account?

  • $700 over payment... now past due?

ten year customer.... i made my $70 payment, but fat-fingered the amount, and actually paid $770.  so my account showed a $700 credit.  fabulous!  so the following month when the statement printed, they deducted my following month's charge of $70, and i had an account balance of $630; a credit owed to me.  i get my statement and think "$630 credit.  i'll call them and get that refunded"
ya know, i could totally pay the rent with that, so i called and said, hey maybe cut me a check for the remaining $630.  sure they said, we'll send that $630 check right out!
then, less than 5 days later, i get the calls from collections saying my account is two months past due and i need to pay another $160 NOW or they will cancel my service.
so i call in and find out they haven't sent me a check for the balance ($630), but they HAVE reversed the entire payment instead.... they think.  the phone reps at version really can't tell me what form of payment the refund was made or where it was sent.  they don't know if a check was mailed.... they can't tell if an electronic payment was made.  they don't know how and they don't know the amount.
what they DO know is that they will cancel my account in 7 days if i don't pay them another $160 immediately.
my bank says it will take 8-10 days to credit back IF they receive it due to the large amount of the refund.
my question:  when a person makes a $700 overpayment to their account, what is the correct question to ask to get the balance refunded WITHOUT throwing one's account into collections?  if the representative would have said "hey, i see you made an overpayment, if we refund you, we'll turn you over to collections , we'll cancel your account before you have money to pay your bill and you'll have to shop for another account with sprint" i wold have at least been prepared to shop around.
what really should have happened?  i can't pay (my new) balance because the money hasn't been sent to my electronic account yet.  verizon wants to cancel my account because they say i'm past due since they refunded too much money, they say.
after being with verizon for a decade,  i can't imagine shopping for another plan, but i'm looking at less than a week before i need to port my number.  how can i resolve this situation?
and i still don't have my $700 back...... and i'm the bad guy.
    what to do?

No, the poster noticed it on the next billing cycle and not at once.
Based on the $700 overpayment Verizon took the $70 out for that next month.
When they asked for the overpayment of $630 Verizon in their error refunded $700 which then threw them in arrears for $70.
Additionally Verizon now jerked them around not to refund the credit balance. But instead demanded payment for an error on their part via refunding too much back.
This is not the original posters problem. However 9 days later no refund back to her bank because Verizon is once again shining the customer on. It does not take 10 days to electronically place money back into an account that was charged instantly. It is just a reversal of overpayment.
Could the customer contact their bank and had it reversed instantly more than likely. That is what I would have done. My Amex credits me in seconds this way no messing around pulling teeth to get your over payment from Verizon.
For right now I would simply call the bank for a reversal credit, pay the balance owed to Verizon and be more careful in the future.
    Good Luck

  • Business received Past Due notice phone call, we dont have Verizon Wireless

    Hi,
I am an IT administrator for a small company.
Our office received an automated phone call from Verizon Wireless about a past due balance of a couple hundred dollars.
I found it odd since no one in the company (we're a small business of 7 people) has verizon wireless and if they did I would have been the one to set up accounts. We have had the same address and phone number for a couple years now so it couldnt have been a mistake. I waited to speak with a representative.,
I gave them my name, company I represented, and explained the situation from them. I told them I received a call about a past due notice. They asked for our contact number, I gave them company's phone number. They found the account through that number and the company name was listed on the account however at this point was where the conversation died. The representative immediately would not answer any further questions because I was apparently not the account holder. They told me if I wanted to do anything I would have to get the account holder on the phone.
Now I understand why they couldn't help me due to privacy concerns.
However I am wondering what a small business can do because I am worried about someone fraudulently opening an account under the company's name and running a past due notice.

Have them mail the past due notice to your business address.
However if one of your employees/Officers have a personal account opened under your business with your FID number you may have to send a letter of dispute for those charges.
Have them send a complete written bill to your attention. That hopefully will clear it up.
    Good Luck

  • OPaid Collection still showing as 90 days past due

I settled my account with CCA Collections in 2013.  Every month Verizon Wireless reports me 90+ days past due for the total amount to the credit reporting agencies.   Each month I have to file with a dispute with the three bureaus to dispute the report.   I've called Verizon's in house collections and they asked me the remaining balance $55.   I told them the account was settled, but I'd pay the $55 if they would send me a bill.   They said no and hung up on me.   Please help

This would be the wrong place to ask that question, due to this being a customer to customer forum.  I feel like you would have to talk to customer service for advice (even tho you already did that.)
What I would do is contact my lawyer and see if she knows of anything to do. That could be expensive if you were to have to take legal action.
The other thing I would do is just pay the money.  I know it isn't fair, but you can pay $55 and they will leave you alone.
