Plan cost in wbs is as per std cost of material
Hi All
We have created a sales order having billing type as a rental
(4 quarters of 4500 value each) and in pricing conditions, the value is
1500.
We have done account assignment of WBS element to it for getting
revenues figures on it.
When we run the report of cost and revenue on WBS element, then the
planned revenue figures is appearing as only 1500 X 4 = 6000.
Actually it should have been 4500 X 4 = 18000.
System is just fetching the value from pricing condition and
multiplying it with the number of line items on billing plan and
showing it as a planned value figure.
This is creating a serious problem of getting planned revenue figures
for WBS Element on rental type of billing and showing a wrong report.
The report is S_ALR_87013531
Request you all to pls help me out.

Hello Experts
I have a sales order item having reason for rejection (as error). However, the planned cost of this sales order item is shown in S_ALR_87013105 report.
The sales order was created in the month of Feb2011. If I run the report for limited period from 03 to 07 the planned cost is NIL but If I run the same report from Feb 11 till date, it shows the planned cost of material +overheads.
can some body throw light on why the report behaves in this way?

Mismatch between Actaul and Plan cost on Order
Good Day;
We have the following issue in SAP that needs to be resolved.
When creating a work order it pulls the prices fort he materials from the maintenance planning plant.
The actual prices on goods issue is determined through the supply process which points to a different plant.
These materials is then issued directly to the order.
This results that the price from the planning plant is not updated and then a huge variance is created on the plan/actual cost on the PM order.
Is there a way that we can do the planning still in the planning plant, but use the supply process to extract the plan price from the plant that will be actually issuing the material.
The prices in the planning plant does not get updated as the stock is going directly to the order and not through theplanning plant where the plan prices comes from.

Unit Costing in Material components
Dear Experts,
I have come across a requirement where dummy materials are to be used for cost planning. These materials wonu2019t be processed any further. The planned cost for these materials is project specific ie. Material A in Project 001 costs 1 $ while same material in Project 002 costs 5$.
We are planning to use unit costing to cater this requirement. Unit costing works for Item category L.
The planned cost from Unit costing for material is considered when we create u201Creservation + purchaser requisitionu201D for WBS element for the material.
On Creating u201Creservationu201D for WBS element, the planned cost from Unit costing is ignored and the planned price is calculated as per the valuation strategy maintained in the Network costing variant (valaution variant). However it is intended that the cost for unit costing is to be considered for reservation for WBS.
We are using std. costing variant PS04 for material costing.
Is there something I am missing so that the planned cost for material from Unit costing is considered in case of reservation for WBS?

Thanks for ur inputs.
I had already thought of the option you have suggested. In the currect process, the "Res / Purc. req." is maintained as "Immediate" at network header level. So the activity also inherits the same reservation relevance & it cannot be changed from "immediate" to "Never".
As suggested by Phoenixcfa it has some thing to do with split valuation. I could carry out the unit costing for a material with "res. for WBS" in IDES.
Hope, I will figure why it doesnot work our Dev system, soon.

WBS Planned Cost on Sales order

We have created WBS element and assiged on Sales order line item in Account assigt tab (Accont *** cat M and Valuation M).
Is there any way to get the corresponding Planned cost of WBS on Sales order line item when WBS is assigned.

We are in MTO Scenario but Production order we will settle to Mat itself
WBS assigning on sales order line item.
WBS we are using to capture any addtion cost towards paint etc.,
While calculating the Margin in Sales order we could able to get the Material cost through VPRS but towards the WBS planned cost is missing, so that the Margin is not coreect.
For this purpose we are planning to bring the WBS planned to to sales order to get the correct Margin.

Does anyone know, whether there exists a function module or BAPI for posting plan costs to a WBS Element? K_COSTS_PLAN_PS does not work, because RKP1 is not allowed.

S_ALR_87013532 report -plan cost not rolling upto the WBS/Project level
Dear All,
Plan cost from production orders is not rolling up to the WBS/Project level in S_ALR_87013532 ( Plan/Actual Variance report).
Where as plan cost from network is properly rolling up to the WBS/Project level in the above report.
Please suggest what could be the reason for this issue. Is any configuration needs to be done for this.

OPSV settings are already maintained in our system.
Some how i realized later that cost are actaully getting rolled to the WBS level, but we have observed one more discrepancy.
Example -
Production order "X" value - 100 ( as seen through co03)
Production order "X"value- 40 ( as seen through report s_alr_87013532).
We found that in report s_alr_87013532 , although my total producton order value of 100 is represented at the WBS /Project level, but at the production order level , it is showing value of 40.
On further analysis we found that for production order X
Materail cost- 60
Labour cost-40
The material cost of 60 is not getting fetched against production order "X" in report " S_ALR_87013532".
There are very few cases , where such discrepancy is seen.
Kindly suggest.

Step 1: Go to PRPS Table and enter the WBSE and get the OBJNR no.
Step 2:Pass the OBJNR in RPSCO and you can get the planned cost value.Note WRTTP should be 1.

We have a requirement where we need to find out the Planned Costs and Actual Costs booked against a WBS element, in a year. The costs can be against all the plan versions or on individual plan version.
Are there any function modules to retrieve this value?

The easiest way would be to get the OBJNR for all WBS elements from PRPS and look up RPSCO and summarize for Value type (RPSCO-WRTTP) 1 for planned cost and 4 for Actual cost.

" If the appended indicator is set, the order planned value increases the WBS element planned value."

Are you saying the WBS Planned cost is in addition to the Sales Order cost estimate? Well, as far as I know, there is no such possibility
you can use Unit Costing feature in Req Class instead of Quantity Structure Based Costing... Then you can enter whatever items you want

Der all,
i try to extract the planned cost for an WBS element.
The extractor 0CO_OM_WBS_2 delivers no data and 0CO_OM_WBS_3 only a few.
Am I using the correct extractors.
I want to extract the same figures you can see in R/3 with transaction CJ41.

Please try the 0CO_OM_WBS_1 extractor for WBS Element Costs (Plan). Data can be extracted using Currency Type = 00 (transaction Currency), 10 (CC Currency) and 20 (Controlling area currency).

Run tcode 'CJ40', user can input the cost in WBS element (in the 'cost plan' column).
Now the requirement is that , we should get the value from this column and I have find some functions. But all don't work.

You can test if you just post on BPJA if you try an CJ02 and select WBS, go on simulation cost screen. You watch 'zero' on the planning cost (ANIA and ANIB table)...
Use MF
KBPV_POST_JA for BPJA and
HFPT_BPIF_RPSCO for RPSCO.

Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions on how we could enter planned costs per quarter for a project? I see we can enter planned costs per monthly period per cost element but not per quarter. Preferably, I would not need to use cost element planning and could simply plan overall, yearly, or quarterly per project. Thanks for the advice.

Once you get overall brief or clear idea of different cost planning functionalities of SAP PS, based on the need of your project, you can go with cost planning : cost element Planning /Activity Type Planning / hierarchy cost planning(Overall/Yearly)/unit costing(Not relevent to period)/asynchronus network cost planning.
And we have Std Cost element and Hierarchy reports to compare the Project's Actual cost with Planned Cost.
You can compare project cost in many ways like WBS element wise, Value category wise,Period/Financial wise, Business Transaction wise and cost element wise.
And also compare project costs in different versions.

Target cost, planned cost, actual cost difference

As per my understanding , the target cost, planned cost, actual will be calculated like blow:
Actual cost = Actual quanity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of goods movement.
Planned cost = Planned quantity * Planned price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of production order release based on valuation variant strategy.
Target cost = Planned Quantity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) when calculating variances.
whether above formulas are correct?
I have one scenario, where in process order, I am not seeing Planned quanity for compoenent/raw material, but target quanity is existed. How it is possible. When I have checked the BOM in process order, the BOM does not contain the componenet.

Target Cost = Costs as per the standard cost estimate * Actual Qty delivered.
For e.g. Std cost for one unit of material-x is as follows.
RM 1 - 10kg * 10 /- = 100
Activity 1 - 5 Hr * 50 /- = 250
If the actual delivery from the production is 2 units, then target cost will update as
Under Goods Issue, RM 1 - (10kg*2units) * 10 /- = 200
Under Confirmations, Activity 1 - (5 Hr*2units) * 50/- = 500
Total = 200+500 = 700
Target cost for goods issue/confirmation of activities will update only when the Goods receipt has been done but not at the time of goods issue or Confirmation of activities.
Target cost for Goods Receipt will update only when the variance has been calculated for the order.
