WBS planned costs

Dear Exprets,
How can calculate planned cost for WBS elemets based on production lot calculation? I try with Tcode CKW1 and CKW4 but there no planned costs in WBS element. In training material PLM230 I find the following text:
" If the appended indicator is set, the order planned value increases the WBS element planned value."
Could you help me to find this indicator?

Hello Sri,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly, I see no value in primary cost planning in CJ40. For all cost elements, the value set is zero.
Any other guess where could I find the value??

    Hi Manoj,
    We are in MTO Scenario but Production order we will settle to Mat itself
    WBS assigning on sales order line item.
    WBS we are using to capture any addtion cost towards paint etc.,
    While calculating the Margin in Sales order we could able to get the Material cost through VPRS but towards the WBS planned cost is missing, so that the Margin is not coreect.
    For this purpose we are planning to bring the WBS planned to to sales order to get the correct Margin.

    Will it be possible to include WBS planned cost in Sales order cost estimate.
    ETO Scenario
    Creating Project and booking planned cost
    Creating Sales order and assigned the WBS at line item level
    WHen i do the sales order cost estimate it calculating cost from Sales order BOM includeing Chars value for KMAT.
    I want to know if there is any way to include the WBS planned cost also in the sale order cost estimate.
    Can anyonce please provide inputs.

    Are you saying the WBS Planned cost is in addition to the Sales Order cost estimate? Well, as far as I know, there is no such possibility
    you can use Unit Costing feature in Req Class instead of Quantity Structure Based Costing... Then you can enter whatever items you want

    Does anyone know, whether there exists a function module or BAPI for posting plan costs to a WBS Element? K_COSTS_PLAN_PS does not work, because RKP1 is not allowed.

  • S_ALR_87013532 report -plan cost not rolling upto the WBS/Project level

    Dear All,
    Plan cost from production orders is not rolling up to the WBS/Project level in S_ALR_87013532 ( Plan/Actual Variance report).
    Where as plan cost from network is properly rolling up to the WBS/Project level in the above report. 
    Please suggest what could be the reason for this issue. Is any configuration needs to be done for this.

    Thanks for the reply & sorry for late response from my side.
    OPSV settings are already maintained in our system.
    Some how i realized  later that cost are actaully getting rolled to the WBS level, but we have observed one more discrepancy.
    Example -
    Production order "X" value - 100 (  as seen through co03)
    Production order "X"value- 40 ( as seen through report s_alr_87013532).
    We found that  in report  s_alr_87013532 , although my total  producton order value of 100 is represented at the WBS /Project level, but at the production order level , it is showing value of 40. 
    On further analysis we found that for production order X
    Materail cost- 60
    Labour cost-40
    The material cost of 60  is not getting fetched against production order "X" in report " S_ALR_87013532".
    There are very few cases , where such discrepancy is seen.
    Kindly suggest.

    You mean to say in CJ40 not in CJ30.
    Step 1: Go to PRPS Table and enter the WBSE and get the OBJNR no.
    Step 2:Pass the OBJNR in RPSCO and you can get the planned cost value.Note WRTTP should be 1.

    We have a requirement where we need to find out the Planned Costs and Actual Costs booked against a WBS element, in a year. The costs can be against all the plan versions or on individual plan version.
    Are there any function modules to retrieve this value?

    Hi,
    The easiest way would be to get the OBJNR for all WBS elements from PRPS and look up RPSCO and summarize for Value type (RPSCO-WRTTP) 1 for planned cost and 4 for Actual cost.

    Der all,
    i try to extract the planned cost for an WBS element.
    The extractor 0CO_OM_WBS_2 delivers no data and 0CO_OM_WBS_3 only a few.
    Am I using the correct extractors.
    I want to extract the same figures you can see in R/3 with transaction CJ41.

    Hi,
    Please try the 0CO_OM_WBS_1 extractor for WBS Element Costs (Plan). Data can be extracted using Currency Type = 00 (transaction Currency), 10 (CC Currency) and 20 (Controlling area currency).

    Run tcode 'CJ40', user can input the cost in WBS element (in the 'cost plan' column).
    Now the requirement is that , we should get the value from this column and I have find some functions. But all don't work.

    Be careful, CJ40 write planning cost on RPSCO and BPJA (or BPGE, BPPE).
    You can test if you just post on BPJA if you try an CJ02 and select WBS, go on simulation cost screen. You watch 'zero' on the planning cost (ANIA and ANIB table)...
    Use MF
      KBPV_POST_JA for BPJA and
      HFPT_BPIF_RPSCO for RPSCO.

  • Order plan cost not appearing in PS report.

    Dear PS friends,
    I have an issue in order plan cost updation ( budget report ).
    Used the prescribed WBS in maintenance order ( additional data ), but its not appearing in planned cost of CJ31 screen.
    Checked the following
    a)  WBS is account assignment element.
    b) Network type order appended indicator in OPSV.
    c) Setting in network type parameters for " determine plan  
        cost".
    d) WBS and order - both are showing plan cost when booked separately, but not integrated.
    Can anybody help me to resolve this !

    Hi,
    In case of the maintenance order (Order Category:30)
    Please check the follwoing in Tcode OPSV:
    1. type is maintained default i.e ++++ (this will consider all the order types mantioned for maintenance order.
    2. Please selelct the appropriate controlling area.
    3. Appended plan indicator has to be checked mark,
    4. Assigned funds in the plan indicator has to be checked mark,
    5. In Tcode IW32: In the additional data Tab assign the WBS Element. Save the maintenance order.

  • Retraction of WBS plan from BPS to PS.

    Hi,
    I am attempting to use the UPR_COST_PLAN_EXEC Function Module to retract data to R3. My aim is to be able to extract the data in a fiscal period to WBS Element - Cost Element combinations in PS.
    I have followed the guidance of the well written 'BPS Retraction for Cost Cener Accounting' web log and have also reviewed the topic entitled 'BPS->PS Retraction Problems' on the community.
    I am still struggling to find clarity on how to implement this functinality succesfully.
    I have followed step by step the guidance mentioned above. However for the Sender Structure 0ACTTYPE,
    0ACT_UNIT, 0COSTCENTER are not assigned to an InfoObject(because I want to retract to PS). 0WBS_ELEMT is assigned.
    I have created a BPS Planning Area and Planning Level. The planning Level and Package include
    Controlling area
    Cost Element
    Currency
    Fiscal year
    Fiscal year/period
    Fiscal Year Variant
    Unit of measure
    Value type (Restricted to 20)
    Version (Restricted to 0)
    WBS Assignment (IM)
    The Planning Function is set up as suggested. Controlling Area and Cost element (All other available fields are assigned to be changed) are not included in the fields to be changed because the system complained about it (Is there any guidance on how these fields should be assigned).
    The Parameter Group is set up as suggested. Other than
    Retr. R/3 Comp. (set as 9)
    BTW is there any guidance of the following settings (all currently set up as suggested)?
    Controlling Area
    Cost Element
    In the InfoCube I have records with all the data elements in the planning element filled and the WBS elements, cost elements match records in R3 with actual postings against.
    If I use my very limited debugging skills. If I look at the values in xth_data[x], the values are as I would expect cost element, fiscal period and wbs element are available correctly in the structure.
    When function UPBR_DATA_PACKAGE_MAP is called the values are available correctly in ith_data[x]. The function completes without error. However if I look in report S_ALR_87013531 the values are not updated.
    This is very frustrating. If any one has any really sound guides or a good approach for debugging or checking of pre-requisites or advice in general I would be over the moon.

    I have a requirement wherein i need to find out the document number of the cost booked in Project and WBSE. Like for eg in Report S_ALR_87013532, there is planned cost.
    also in the same report S_ALR_87013532, we have OVERALL VALUES and TOTAL OF YEARS. What is the difference between the two ?

    Overall is derived from the Overall values planned for the project (at the overall level) - look at config of your planning profile - transaction OPSB.
    Total of Annual is the sum of the all annual values planned for the project.
    To get the document number, you will need to go to the line items. To go there, select the WBS element or whichever level you want to drill down to and then goto menu Goto -> Line items. You will be given a list of line items available (actual, plan, etc...). Once you get in there, you should be able to select the "Document number" field from the available fields or click on the "Document" item to view the posting document.

  • Planned Costs by Quarter

    Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions on how we could enter planned costs per quarter for a project? I see we can enter planned costs per monthly period per cost element but not per quarter. Preferably, I would not need to use cost element planning and could simply plan overall, yearly, or quarterly per project. Thanks for the advice.

    Once you get overall brief or clear idea of  different cost planning functionalities of SAP PS, based on the need of your project, you can go with cost planning : cost element Planning /Activity Type Planning / hierarchy cost planning(Overall/Yearly)/unit costing(Not relevent to period)/asynchronus network cost planning.
    And we have Std Cost element and Hierarchy reports to compare the Project's  Actual cost with Planned Cost.
    You can compare project cost in many ways like  WBS element wise, Value category wise,Period/Financial wise, Business Transaction wise and cost element wise.
    And also  compare project costs in different versions.

    For WBS description, please use table PRPS. Use the field POSID.I dont know whether there is any table for plan cost.However we use table COSS for Cost totals for internal postings & table COSP for Cost totals for external postings.
