Poor 3G performance from Hutchinson 3 Service Provide at HK

any Hong Kong 3G iphone users experiencing poor 3G performance on Hutchinson 3 network? test my 3G iphone against original EDGE iphone at same spot on office floor, browsing to www.yahoo.com and the performance was marginally quicker than EDGE. after calling our service provide, being told that we were capped on network bandwidth of 7.2mbps but the real speed testing was around 0.3mbps.... this is unacceptable performance.
Apple - please speak to vendor, this is making your product look BAD.

  • CAN I RECEIVE MESSAGE FROM MY CELLULAR SERVICE PROVIDER IN MY iPAD MINI CELLULAR ?

    Hi Using iPad,
Can I receive message from my cellular service provider in my iPad mini cellular?

    I Picked This Username wrote:
    Be aware though..
If you send an iMessage to an iPhone that isn't using WiFi, they will be charged for receiving the message..
The same goes with the iPad sending the message: if you are not using WiFi..
That is incorrect. No cell carrier charges for a message sent by and received by iMessage other than any relevant data charges. The carrier doesn't even know the message is any different from an email message or any other standard Internet traffic. Only if the iPhone was not set up to iMessage and hence receives the message via SMS would there perhaps be a charge, and that will depend on the cell plan. The iPad cannot receive messages via SMS at all so there will never be a charge.

I received an iPhone 6 in the mail from my previous service provider but I already changed to a different provider and got an iPhone 6 in the meantime because my iPhone 5 stopped working and I was desperate thinking I wouldn't receive the phone in the mail. Should I mail it back or sell it?

You aren't serious are you? Send it back. It is not yours, you do not own it, therefore selling it would constitute selling stolen goods. You would be committing a crime, and you would be screwing whomever you sold it to.

  • Poor Network Performance from VPN sites

We are experiencing poor network performance when connecting from hardware VPN sites. VPN sites have Cisco Hardware VPN client 3002 which terminates to Cisco 3005 VPN concentrator. Geting upload/download speeds of 355/484kbsp from VPN to surewest.com. If I remove the VPN and connect laptop directly to dsl modem, speeds are 3mb up and 1mb down. Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Try this
Adjust the MTU and MSS size in concentrator and client.

Correct, a standard phone service will not provide internet connection. You need to talk with your cellular provider and ask for a data plan for iPads. Not a phone service.

  • How do I port a number from a different service provider to Verizon?

I have a work cell phone and a personal phone. I want to port my work number to my personal Verizon iphone.  What do i need to do to do this?  And what information will I need to provide?

Knowing your options is important SR84. Is your work number a current Verizon Wireless mobile number? If not, the process you would take is called an LNP Port in Telephone Number Change. For additonal information click, http://vz.to/1jogjzV

  • Poor 5GHz Performance from Extreme ?

    Hi
I have set up my new Extreme as a WiFi extender on my modem. I have turned off WiFi on the modem so there is only the Extreme. I have postioned the AE about 20 feet away at the bottom of my stairs from my study which is on the forst floor. So there is almnost a line of sight but not quite. I am getting a transmit rate of 176 (I assume Mbs)
Is this good ? I look at other makes such as Linksys or Asus and see better test results than the AE.

Your original setup sounds a bit complicated.. obviously it worked but if you had asked me I would say it has some issues.
In the old setup were the computers connecting to 5ghz signal.. or 2.4ghz.
In your new setup.. if you just use 2.4ghz is it working ok?
Remember the AC Extreme has much better range.. but the computers do not.. they have exactly the same range as before. Even higher gain antenna at 5ghz might not actually give you better range. If you test the air in the same room as the AC.. does it still fade out?
With the way you have it running now do you have the two computers in very different areas of the house?
Beam forming.. hmmm.. two different computers in two different areas could get confused.
Also there is too much auto happening. Can you lock the wireless channel.. on 5ghz at least and stick with the lower ones.. around 36-40 if possible. Apple made it auto rotate channels on the router end and auto rotate bands on the client end.. that can cause issues.

All BlackBerrys have the ability for BlackBerry Messenger.
You must have THE BlackBerry Data Plan on your service provicer account for it to work.
No Blackberry Data Plan = No BlackBerry Messenger.

  • Reporting Authorized Service Provider

Does anyone knows if there´s a place were I can report a bad Authorized Service Provider?
Apple´s official service it's supposed to be the best, but this happened to me yesterday:
I bought a new iMac Intel, 20". After a couple of months of use, the finder began to react a little slow, so I restarted from my CD.
The CD doesn´t works. My mac can´t boot from CD, so I went to the Apple Authorized Service Provider where I initially bought the computer.
The initial diagnostic was that someone swichted the CD, so I have a different one, but no the appropiate for this iMac. Anyway, they told me the computer must be in observation for a couple of days to check the internal CD unit. Then they gave me a receipt.
To my amusement, the receipt said it was a "G5 iMac" model, with scratches on it's surface and it's original install CD's. Then I protested for two reasons: the computer it's supposed to be brand new, no scratches at all were visible anywere. The second one it was 'cause it was an Intel mac, not a G5. But they insisted the computer's processor's was really a G5. This discussion lasted for about ten minutes. The final settlement it was that the computer will be registered as an "early 2006 model", with no mention at all of the type of processors or memory, but they insisted that the receipt should contain "tiny scratches" anyway, or won't be repaired.
When I protested, they told me they don't have any obligation to repair a computer without serial number. I didn't know anything about this, but they told me all iMacs have a little plaque at the bottom of it's base with their serial number. Mine didn't have any, and no signs of damage of scratches in this place, just a little squared empty space. They told me this serial number should match the one registered in the original invoice, the one I received when the original purchase was done.
And guess what? No serial number was in the invoice too!!!! When I proved to them that they sell me the computer with no serial number at all, I told 'em I will call consumer;s protection bureau and Apple, and then the discussion inmediately ended. They take the computer to service, with just one minor detail: initially they give me the receipt to accept the service in which they described what I gave to them, with no mention of any peripherals at all. After a couple of words, they included the original cables, keyboard and mouse in the list.
Just one last thing: The phones which appear printed in the original invoice does not exists. Their real phone number it's quite different.
In resumen: If the computer is new, can the Install CD's be switched? It's true that G5 it's the same as Intel core duo? Can an Authorized Apple Provider sell a computer without serial number?
So, if this is what you can expect from an Authorized Service Provider, can you imagine what can you expect from anyone else?
This post was deleted with no further explanations from this forums, so I inmediately spread it across the net. The mail version contains all information, adress and phone number of the Authorized Service Provider, pictures, and all appropiate information to identify him. It's now on a blog and copies were sent to news services.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Victor,
No, an Intel Core Duo iMac is not the same as an iMac G5. However, the iMac G5 (Early 2006) and the Intel iMac are virtually identical to eachother. The way to tell them apart is to look at the bottom of the foot or to turn the computer on, click on the Apple logo and choose "About this Mac". Also, the original disks that came with these units are very different and wouldn't work with eachother.
I would recommend that you call Apple directly at 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) to let them know about your experience and also to request new disks if you qualify. They should be able to answer most of your questions.
    I hope this helps ya,
    Derek C.

  • Bought iPhone 5S refurb from service provider 'as new'. After restore multiple Apple ID's are offered,1 of which belongs to me, the others have never been used on my phone. iCloud restore from backup is now permanently incomplete. Ideas?

There are several factors involved here, I shall explain them as best I can and will include all details, regardless of immediate relevancy:
In August of last year I purchased a new MBP15", and 2 months later I purchased an iPhone 5s refurb (unused) from my service provider (02), there were no issues connecting the two or with iCloud. Fast-forward several months to February I had a liquid spill on my laptop that rendered it unusable. After a month my insurance came through and I received a new laptop, and in order to successfully pair my replaced MBP with my 5S I performed a restore on my iPhone after backing up my data on iCloud.
When I turned on my iPhone after the restore, I was presented with the usual set-up process: wi-fi connection was completed without issue, as was enabling location services, entering my Apple ID and choosing my selected back-up.However, I was subsequently presented with an option to transfer purchases from an email address have never used and didn't recognise, so I declined. Immediately afterwards, a second Apple ID (again that I neither used nor recognised) popped up for the same reason, I declined, a third unknown Apple ID popped up, I declined again. After declining the three previous IDs, the old email address for my ID was presented to me, I entered my password to see what happened and it declined, saying 'the email is no longer valid.
After this, the restore continued, I finished setting up my iCloud with my correct ID. Since then (about a week ago) my iPhone has been unsuccessfully trying to 'restore from iCloud Backup', and every time I exit & re-enter a Wi-Fi zone I am presented with the same series of incorrect Apple ID's

The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

  • Process to automatically upload Denial List file from service provider in GTS server.

    Hi Experts,
At present we manually perform the uploading of denial list file provided by service provider manually.
We first download it ,then upload it through menupath SAP Compliance Management-->SPL Screening--> Master Data-->Load Sanct. Party Lists from XML File
I heard there is a setting for automatic upload of the files.
There is a path SAP Compliance Management-->SPL Screening--> Master Data-->SPL Screening--->Control XI Inbound Processing
    where we need to Manintain
Service --BP Number--Data Obj -- LR
Can the experts please throw some light on what should be the process flow ,and what further configuration or Program needs to be created .
This will help me in moving forward with this..
    Thanks & Regards
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
You can automate upload of xml files received from data providers related to SPL by using the SAP PI functionality. The process is as follows
Data provider places delta SPL xml files in FTP server and they will provide login credentials specific to your client.you need to write a batch job to read the file from FTP location and place it in your clients firewall.once it's in your client firewall you need to run another batch job to upload into GTS system.
SAP has provided the following standard PI proxy  /SAPSLL/II_SPL_UPDATE_IN as an RFC enabled function module /SAPSLL/CON_SPL_XML_INBOUND for this requirement.
Additionally you need to maintain the above configuration which you have mentioned.
    Regards,
    Hari Challa.

  • I just got a replacement for my iPhone 4S, ever since i could be sitting in the same spot and go from 5 bars w/ 4G to 1 bar then it will say searching..then shortly after it will return back to 5 bars. Apple or service provider?

I just went to the Apple store not three days ago to get a replacement. They gave me a replacement then moved on to the next customer. Ever since I have gotten home my service has been going in and out. I can have my phone in the same place and it can say that i have 5 bars with 4G, then not two seconds later it will go to 1 bar, after that it will say Searching..for a little over two minutes. Then it will go back to saying that i have 5 bars with 4G, and the cycle will continue. I am not sure whether this is an Apple problem or if it is my service provider. I have talked to several others who have the same service provider and they say that they are not experiencing any problems!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore.  Has any of this been tried?
Unless and until is has been, Apple will not do anything, beyond the basic troubleshooting listed above.

  • How can I unlock my UK phone for AUS use when sourced from UK Apple Store (so without service provider to do it for me)?

So my Aus iPhone that I had unlocked to do a bit of travelling went for a swim in the Med- my service provider back home informed me that in order to claim on insurance internationally that I should get a new one from an Apple Store and send them the bill etc etc. I did that, and all was fine with the rest of my trip on a prepaid UK sim.  Now I am home and want to put my AUS sim in (where I am under postpaid contract) but my iPhone is not recognising it, with an error message of 'Invalid Sim'.  My service provider cannot help as the product was sourced from Apple originally and not them. Can someone let me know how this can be fixed?

Okay, so if you purchased your iPhone from an Apple store in the UK then it is fully unlocked.  Apple in the UK sell fully and officially unlocked iPhones, so you should not have a problem with inserting any sim card into your phone.  The phone will be unlocked as long as you purchased the phone in the UK for the full purchase price and not as sim free rather than unlocked.
Have a word with your provider, as there could possibly be a problem with your sim card.  Get a new sim card and try that.  There is no reason why this should not work on an unlocked iPhone.
