gurus,
i have the following requirement :-
1. there is a self service application on the homepage of the site
2. a vendor comes to the site (he has not logged in yet)
3. the vendor registers himself (this is done thru a portal form on the homepage)
the requirement is - the vendor needs to be approved before he gets the login to the portal. the vendor is approved by the site admin. THE REQUIREMENT NOW IS THAT THE SITE-ADMIN NEEDS TO BE ALERTED THAT A VENDOR HAS REGISTERED HIMSELF AND IS AWAITING APPROVAL. how would i do this, is it possible to have ALERTS in portal ?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure what notification you are thinking of, when mail is not sufficient.
But, you could add a column APPROVED which is null when they administrator has not taken action. You could then create a report, showing all vendors who are not approved yet, and place this report as a portlet on the administrators homepage. Everytime the administrator sees his homepage, he sees if and how many vendors are waiting for him.

  • Incorrect Alerts CPU Time and Average Response Time

    BUG
    My Alert on Web app is consistently behaving incorrectly.
    If I set an alert to monitor CPU Time at threshold 1.5 seconds, it's actually set to 1.5 milliseconds even though the graph shows a dotted red line at 1.5 seconds. The alert will trigger at 1.5 milliseconds threshold. So, instead, I have to set threshold
    to 1500 seconds - the graph is completely useless showing a red dotted line at ~24 mins but the alert does then go off when CPU time goes above 1500 ms (aka 1.5 seconds).
    The original portal alert seems to be fine - this problem is on new portal only. Unaffected by browser type - all browsers do the same thing (Just has to be said before someone asks).
    This seems to apply to all metrics using seconds (Average Response Time acts in the same way)

  • Anyconnect 3.1 Captive Portal False Alert Stops Users Connecting.

    Hi All,
    I am having problems with a customer's ASA 5505 with Anyconnect 3.1 - it is generating captive portal false-alerts which are stopping users from connecting.
    This issue began when I upgraded from Anyconnect 2.4 to 3.1, and it appears like this: A user downloads and installs the Anyconnect client and is able to connect fine, to begin with. However, once they reboot their computer and try to reconnect, the VPN session will not come up and they receive the error message below.
    "The service provider in your current location is restricting access to the internet. You need to log on with the service provider before you can establish a VPN session. You can try this by visiting any website with your browser."
    Reading other posts, it seems this message appears when a captive portal is restricting internet access. It must be a false alert in this case as there is nothing of the sort here. Apparently, Anyconnect 3.1 can generate a false alert like so if the name of the firewall's SSL certificate doesn't match the CName listed on the Client Profile. I've set this up to match, to no avail.
    Although users can connect by reauthenticating through the SSL VPN login web page, I am stumped as to how to get rid of this captive portal error that pops up when they try to use the Anyconnect client.
    Any advice would be appreciated, just let me know what extra details to post if needed.

    False Captive Portal Detection
    AnyConnect can falsely assume it is in a captive portal in the following situations.
    •If AnyConnect attempts to contact an ASA with a certificate containing an incorrect server name (CN), then the AnyConnect client will think it is in a "captive portal" environment.
    To prevent this, make sure the ASA certificate is properly configured. The CN value in the certificate must match the name of the ASA server in the VPN client profile.
    •If there is another device on the network before the ASA, and that device responds to the client's attempt to contact an ASA by blocking HTTPS access to the ASA, then the AnyConnect client will think it is in a "captive portal" environment. This situation can occur when a user is on an internal network, and connects through a firewall to connect to the ASA.
    If you need to restrict access to the ASA from inside the corporation, configure your firewall such that HTTP and HTTPS traffic  to the ASA's address does not return an HTTP status. HTTP/HTTPS access to the ASA should either be allowed or completely  blocked (also known as black-holed) to ensure that HTTP/HTTPS requests sent

  • Errors in the alert log upon portal 3.0.6 installation

    We installed Portal 3.0.6 with with Oracle 8.1.7 on a RedHat 6.2, kernel 2.2.17 machine. We noticed the following error lines in the alert-log, just before opening the DB:
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-04045: errors during recompilation/revalidation of SYS./cd252dcc_RegisterService
    ORA-30511: invalid DDL operation in system triggers
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_JAVA", line 0
    ORA-06512: at line 2
    Any idea what might be the problem here?
    The DB and Portal seem to communicate well so far. The pool_sizes in init.ora are setup high, 50Mb each.

    Not sure what the error is. Have you tried to look at the object using DBA Studio to see if it can be recompiled?

    I have created an alert with email notification on a custom performance counter using the management services of Azure portal.
    Currently the alert is in active state (and has been so for several hours), but i haven't received any email.
    Can someone please advise on this issue?

    Do you have an endpoint for the service. To enable endpoint monitoring, go to the
    dashboard page for the associated resource and edit the
    Endpoints setting in the
    monitoring section, see figure 1. If you have an endpoint, try disabling and enabling the alert in the management tab.

  • PO confirmation alerts in SUS portal

    I created PO in R/3 and sent to vendor SUS portal.
    Then vendor didn't confirmed PO so i sent alerts for PO confirmation to vendor.. Now when I am trying to see alerts in SUS portal, its giving error as: "Error in call of back end function for component AlertMonitorComponent: Message type   is unknown., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE".
    Please guide.

    By PO confirmation I dont mean Goods receipt, but its PO acceptance by vendor.

    Hello Venkat,
    You will have to include the Portal system in the Central System administration of your Solution Manager.
    As the EP system will be monitored by a sapccmsr running with -j2ee option this one can be configured separately. The agent will be started using the monitoring segment of the J2EE instance and therefore can be started more than once.
    Here you should also use the latest sapccmsr agents.

    Note the EP system can only be monitored by using the SAPCCMSR agents. and then by implement a central autoreaction method you can generate e-mails from CCMS.
    Automatic emails will get generated when certain thresholds are met. You must configure the thresholds from the central monitoring system for the nodes that you want email to be generated.
    Please follow the steps in the note to configure central auto reaction.

    Hi All,
    We wanted to put up alert system for Portal. We have the standard set of alerts set which is being taken care by CCMS, also have the solution manager diagnostics set for portal and other systems. What we want is the client side monitoring which could be http response time and if it exceeds the threshold will alert us. Remember the alerting is major criteria here else the monitoring can be performed by diagnostics which we are doing on regular basis.
    Is there a indusrty standard available for portal for such alerts? I am currently analysing 2/3 other products for the same. I want to take an advise from you all that what product is being used at your end and what are the benefits over Solman and CCMS.
    Please let me know.

    You might want to look into EEM (End-user Experience Monitoring) for SAP Solution Manager which has lots of information available (demo, video) on SAP SDN on the following URL:

    In short it enables you to record actions of end-users and then monitor those actions (response times and so on) of what your users normally perform during daily tasks and by doing that getting the technical view on what users are experiencing to be slow.

    Is there a programmatic way to show alert messages in the banner region if some logic requires it for a particular user and/or group as opposed to creating a alert portlet that shows nothing and takes up space most of the time.

  • DPM Alerts reports on SharePoint portal.

    I am being asked to configure DPM alerts/monitoring reports to be uploaded automatically to a SharePoint portal. Anyone have idea how to this? Right now i have scheduled a powershell script which sends failed jobs status to recipients emails ids.
    I want states of protection groups to be shown on SharePoint portal updating 30 minutes or 1 hour.

    You can use SQL Reporting services or SCOM 2012 with dashboard.

  • SQL DTU alerts not working in Azure New Portal

    I setup a lot of DTU alerts for our PROD Databases and setup some low threasholds to test the alerts and none of them fired. I even witnessed 3 DBs above my threashold for more a good 30 min but never an email.

    You can query the DMV sys.dm_db_resource_stats frequently to monitor the resource usage at 15 second granularity for the last one hour. (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn800981.aspx). Documentation
    here also has an example query to get the average DTU consumption.

    I have a few groups set up that apply only to "a specified content area" instead of "all objects across the Portal." Does anyone know how to change this setting to apply to "all objects across the Portal" without recreating the group?

    I don't want to give the group privledges. I only want the group to become visible to each content area so that I can choose to add the group to specified folders outside of the root content area.
