Price & Speed is not what was agreed when re-contr...

Hi, my contract ran out at the end of October last year and I was offered a new contract, the first 6 months free then £15.99 a month for the next 12 months I also asked about getting  the new up to 20mb broadband and was told I would get it if it was available at my exchange if it wasn’t I would get it as soon as my exchange was upgraded. My exchange has been upgraded and I am still on up to 8mb, I have phoned about this and was first told I would be upgraded on 1st April then I was told the last week in April then was told it would be 15th May, still no change also when I got my bill this month I was charged £24.99 a month not £ 15.99 I spent over an hour on the phone last week about being charged £24.99 and was told that was what I have to pay not very happy to say the least. I also took out a 12 month contract for TV on demand at £6.99 a month and was told I would get a new remote control free of charge as mine does not work very well have not yet received new control. Can a moderator help sort any  of this out thanks Mil.

    I recently (Oct '10) changed my phone back to BT and got a package deal along with my existing BB and Vision services.
    Spoke to a helpful guy called Tim Chappell who organised everything via email and phone.
    I have had my recent quarterly bill it is not what we agreed.  I am paperless billing and I cannot see what package deal I am on until my quarterly bill comes through. The first bill was very confusing with lots of cancellations for the existing package and then lots of price shuffling so I could only really see what I was paying on my second quarterly bill.
    I have tried and tried in vain to contact Tim with no response. Live Chat and Cancellations have emailed him to contact me urgently but still nothing.
    All the agreement is in the emails I received/sent so I have proof of the package he did, but what it says on my billing is different so it's my word against theirs until Tim responds to me.
    Sorry for the long rant, can anyone help solve this please?

    No, it was Apple. Last night the movie (Argo) was downloaded. It took   about an hour, however it did  not open.
    I can watch the preview, but can't open it.

    How to create a DVD in iDVD6 without menu (there are several options)
    1. Easy. Drop your iMovie in the auto-play box in iDVD's Map View, then set your auto-play item (your movie) to loop continuously.
    Disadvantage. The DVD plays until you hit stop on the remote
    2. Still easy. If you don't want your (auto-play) movie to loop, you can create a black theme by replacing the background of a static theme with a black background and no content in the drop-zone (text needs to be black as well).
    Disadvantage. The menu is still there and will play after the movie. You don't see it, but your disc keeps spinning in the player.
    3. Still quite easy but takes more time. Export the iMovie to DV tape, and then re-import using One-Step DVD.
    Disadvantage. One-Step DVD creation has been known to be not 100% reliable.
    4. (My preferred method) Easy enough but needs 3rd party software. Toast lets you burn your iMovie to DVD without menu - just drag the iMovie project to the Toast Window and click burn.
    Disadvantage. you'll need to spend some extra $$ for the software. In Toast, you just drop the iMovie project on the Window and click Burn.
    5. The "hard way". Post-production with myDVDedit (free-ware)
    Tools necessary. myDVDedit ( www.mydvdedit.com )
    • create a disc image of your iDVD project, then double-click to mount it.
    • Extract the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to a location of your choice. select the VIDEO_TS folder and hit Cmd + I to open the Inspector window
    • Set permissions to "read & write" and include all enclosed items; Ignore the warning.
    • Open the VIDEO_TS folder with myDVDedit. You'll find all items enclosed in your DVD in the left hand panel.
    • Select the menu (usually named VTS Menu) and delete it
    • Choose from the menu File > Test with DVD Player to see if your DVD behaves as planned. If it works save and close myDVDedit.
    • Before burning the folders to Video DVD, set permissions back to "read only", then create a disc image burnable with Disc Utility from a VIDEO_TS folder using Laine D. Lee's DVD Imager.

  • What I Hear is NOT What I Get when I export

    I finally learned how to create a multi-track song in GarageBand 2. I spent hours getting it the way I wanted it -- and it sounded great -- Then I exported it to iTunes, and when it played there, the tempo was much slower than it had been when I played it in GarageBand. Also, some of the tracks were off in terms of timing.
    To make matters worse, when I then go back to listen again to the song in GarageBand 2, it is screwing up there, too -- all this despite the fact that the song played perfectly (in terms of tempo and being in sync) the last time I played it PRIOR to exporting it to iTunes.
    Can someone tell me why What I Hear is Not "What I Get" with Garageband? and why it's mucking up the final version of my songs when I export them to iTunes.

     Does this happen when you try to type in a message ? Did u check in the Active Notes, Contact, Office applications etc. ?
     Also check what is the language set in the Message Editor settings.

  • Installed but speed nowhere near what was estimate...

    Had infinity option 2 installed this morning engineer on time so good in that sense. However the estimated speed quote was 62mb down 17 up. However I am only actually getting 24mb down. It's a bug difference from what was quoted, I am about 200-250m from the cabinet.
    Not sure what could be te issue

  • What are the settings in mail to see photos that were sent- then email recepient replies back w/ comments but there are no photos to know which one they are commenting about.  how do i see what was sent when they reply?   thanks for your help

    Did you ever get a reply to this.  I have the same problem.  I have the same problem when even when I reply to an email... no photo shows up in my new reply message.  The only way I have figured out is to use the "forward" option.
    But this still does not solve the problem when people email me back... I have no idea what photo they are speaking of.  Instead of a photo... there is a <photo name of some sort>.
    Let me know if you ever hear on this one.

  • Seriously slow speed, not what was promised

    i have been reading thru the other threads. I will re-iterate the point which has not been answered, why does this have to go thru' a forum instead of a proper help desk?
    I changed yesterday to BT broadband. When I ordered it, I made the point that both of us rely on internet for our work and so I asked the sales person if there would be any disruption to internet service. I was told there would be NO disruption. Unfortunately, that is not true. I keep reading about waiting 10 days, but i was not told that would be 10 days of incredibly slow service. Why would this be the case when the house/phone line previously served broadband perfectly well?
    Just wandering, we have always turned everything off overnight, would that make a difference? Does the Hub have to stay on 24/7?
    email etc is working with a little patience, but cannot download any video clips, doesn't cope with even a 2 minute youtube. very annoying and disruptive. thanks

    there is a 10 day training period while the equipment at the exchange tries to find the best stable connection for your line.  during this period you should leave the router connected 24/7 with no manual resets.  however the router may restart (often) during the training period.
    after the training period is complete then you can switch the router off at night, many do, but it is not recommended by BT.  to many resets/disconnections in a short space of time will have a bad affect on your speed and profile

  • Internet speed-- not what was promised!

    I am a new Fios subscriber.  One of the main reasons I chose Fios was the promise of a faster internet.  I am paying for 50/25 mb speed, but what I am acutally getting (as judged by the Internetfrog speed test) is approx. 14 mb/s download and 4-5 mb/s upload. 
    Am I the only one who is not getting  what I am paying for?  Are these speeds reasonable?

    It is no more misleading than many advertising claims which always seem to have an asterik  limiting the claims.  How many people actually get the EPA mileage printed on the sticker for their car?
    If you think Verizon over hyped WiFi speeds how about router manufacturers?   (150 300 450   600   ......1900 ).
    I have the 75/35 package and connected using Ethernet often  get 80/40.
    Standing in the same room as the VZ router I  can often get 55 down on its 2.4 Ghz radio.  If I connect to the AP I have running off the Actiontec that has a 5 Ghz radio sometimes I can  sometimes get 70 down.
    I live in an area with lots of WiFi interference.   I often can  pick up 20 + SSIDs.
    I use Ethernet for speed and the WiFi only for convience.

    Live chat told me to get my discount I needed to be at 1gb, and that if I did that I would have a bill of 95.90 a month.  He then changed my data to 1gb, which actually UPPED my bill to 126.70! No where to contact them with email, and the chat button isn't working now.  I want my discounts that are active on my account just not applied!  How do I get my old bill back which was actually cheaper than his changed planed!  This is NOT good!

    We'll have to speculate on the rest until you provide add'l info such as type and qty of devices on your acct.  Smartphone $40 plus data = $70.  Are you buying a new phone with an Edge agreement? We can't help without details.

  • T61 Characters Displayed Are Not What Was Typed

    Periodically when I type on the keyboard the characters that appear are not the ones I type.  This happens when I try to enter the password to logoin - thank goodness for the fingerprint reader!  It also happens when I am in various applications including MS Word and Outlook.  If I reboot the problem goes away for an undertermined period.  I have run two virus scanning programs and have found no viruses.  Any help would be appreciated.

    The paragraph sign is something I don't know where to find on an ordinary keyboard! the second é is actually e grave and the c has the little squiggle under it.
    If I try qwertyuiop (top line of the keyboard) I get azertyuiop (nearly right)
    If I try zxcvbnm,./ (bottom line) I get w x c v b n , ; :

  • What You see is not what you get when printing a adobe PDF file

    Hi, we use adobe pdf files to send printing of maps to different customers. Quite often a pdf file looks Ok on the screen but printed on paper some lines is crossing the paper which should not be there.
    It is easy to reproduce and seems to happen on different computers. Most of them use windows7. If we use another program than adobe for displaying and printing the same file the print is correct.
    Is this a bug in print driver or in the Adobe reader which produce the data for the print driver. Most files is created by a thin print solution called UNIPRINT.

    The text spacing also frustrates me, but I'm afraid is a drawback of the iWeb system. I always have to go back and re-tweak certain paragraphs that I try to squeeze into a smaller space. I've learned that it's best to allow for a little breathing room with the width and height of the text field. If the text field is exactly the width and height of your paragraph in iWeb, chances are the lines are going to bump down just a hair, creating an extra line of text which will decrease your line spacing if the height is also tight. Does that make sense?
    As far as the hyperlinks go, I used to get freaked out because what I thought was the wrong formatting, but what I found out was just the formatting for having visited the linked site.
    What iWeb does for those of us who don't know or don't care to mess with html code is an extremely complex process that I can't even begin to understand. And on top of that you add the relative unpredictability of the various browsers and systems that are out there. You have to roll with the punches and figure out these little discrepancies to get the finished product you want.

  • I need to purchase a new laptop and wondered what was recommended when using lightroom?

    Ehich laptop is most compatible with Lightroom?

    Also, if you are planning to also use the laptop to edit your photos, you want to go with a 17" screen. I have a small 15" ASUS laptop with an Intel I5 CPU and 6GB of RAM. Lightroom runs fine on that but I only use it to offload images from my CF card and use Lightroom or Elements to verify the download was successful by checking the RAW images in a RAW viewer so I have no need for a lot of power. However, the small screen is not suitable for serious editing.
    I also have a Macbook Pro 17" which I also use. I have a small working catalog on that machine. I used to use it for traveling but, being considerably larger and heavier than the ASUS, I don't take it on the road anymore. The screen was large enough that I could view 1:1 previews and still see nearly the entire image on the screen which made it suitable to make changes and judge quality but I still wait to to do the serous edits (like using Photoshop) when i get home where I can export/import my working catalog to my Mac Pro with the big monitor.
    The 17" screen on the Macbook makes serious editing possible and there is enough power and memory to run both Lightroom and Photoshop. If the laptop is going to be your primary darkroom, go with a 17" screen with a fast processor (Intel I5 or better, I7) and at least 8GB of RAM (Photoshop really loves RAM). One other thing I will mention is that I worked in IT for a very large bank where we had thousands of laptops deployed from a number of different manufacturers. The Lenovo laptops had the least problems over all with a much lower percentage of them having to be returned/repaired. I personally had good luck with the Dell laptops and have owned them personally as well but many of my coworkers did not fair so well.

  • Memory amount not what was purchased.

    I ordered a new Intel mac mini core duo with 1gb of ram and a 100gb hard drive. I got it today and was playing around for a few hours. Love it! I am new to macs so it took me awhile to look in the "about this mac" part.
    Turns out this computer shows only 512mb of the 1gb ram I am supposed to have. It shows 1gb on both stickers on the box.
    Is there any way the "about this mac" is wrong? (i am mostly a windows user, so mistrusting the machine comes natural)
    If it does only have 512 then what is the best way to resolve this?

    trust me when I say your overall experience will seem very trouble free once you start really suing your mac. Being used to the common windows quirks you'll soon realize how much nicer it is!
    As far as your memory issue, it's a bummer but I guess it goes to show that they are just human

    I have wasted a lot more than the $1.99 to buy the Awesome Weather Clock app but I do not like getting scammed. This app does not do anything that is claimed and all support is in Chinese. Any suggestions on, is there any way of getting a refund? Is there a way of warning others not to download? this app should be pulled as soon as possible. Any help would be appreciated.

    If it's not working as described then usy the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link.
