Problem for configuring DHCP IPV6 on my router

Hi everybody,
I try to test DHCP IPV6.
My topologie is very simple :
 CustomerA <--------------------------->R_IPV6
 - Customer is Linux debian
- Router is 7200 >>> Version 12.4(25f)
I read the documentation
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/ipv6/configuration/12-4t/ipv6-12-4t-book/ip6-dhcp.html
I try to configured server DHCP IPV6, but I don't see all command !!!!
router_A(config)#ipv6 dhcp pool client_siteA
router_A(config-dhcp)#?
IPv6 DHCP configuration commands:
default            Set a command to its defaults
  dns-server         DNS servers
domain-name        Domain name to complete unqualified host names

    Hi,
I can find that there is a
same thread that you posted in the forum. I had replied it. Please check if can help you. Just remind that please reboot when uncheck IPv6 option and monitor the result. Meanwhile, please check if can find some relevant issue when you run
    SBS 2008 BPA.
In addition, please refer to the following thread and skip the DHCP check, then run the wizard. Please check
if this wizard can be ran completely. If run successfully, then enable the DHCP
    again.
    SBS
2011 is detecting DHCP on my network after I disable it and i cant continue setup
    Hope this helps.

  • Having issues configuring DHCP and with Redundant router

    Hello everyone
I am new to Cisco and I am having few problems in configuring my topology in Packet tracer.
I am having redundancy in router and swithes both,
I have assigned one layer2 2960 switch as a VTP server and asssigned VLANs from that switch then assigned ports to the hosts in access layer switches.
Problem 1:  If I take my Router1 off I am unable to ping so the pupose of having redundant router does not serve the pupose.
Problem 2 : I need to assign DHCP server for the users who will be connecting wirelessly with Access Points, so can I configure DHCP on Access Points which I am unable to do so in Packet tracer any idea how? / Or shall I configure the DHCP on Router1 and Router2 and exclude the addresses I have assigned to all the hosts connected using ethernet.
Also how can I configure Email server in this tolpolgy and where?
    Thank you
    A.K

    Hi Asif, Jeff is right.
    (1) You need to configure either HSRP (Hot standby routing protocol) or VRRP (Wirtual routing redundancy protocol), or GLBP (Gateway load balancing protocol).
With either of this config, you will be able to configure 1 logical IP address, which will act as a gateway on your computers. However, both routers will need different IP's (all within the same subnet). You will also need to create multiple HSRP groups to support all your VLAN's. So one HSRP group per VLAN. The logical IP in the HSRP group will act as the default gateway on computers within the VLAN.
Though I don't think packet tracer supports any of the above configs - FYI it's part of the CCNP Switch sylabus. So the above explaination will make sense after you've got a good understanding of HSRP, VRRP and/or GLBP.
    (2) I would recommend setting both the Router as a DHCP server, and configure the Access Point (AP) with a static IP (disable NAT and DHCP on the AP)
    (3) In packet tracer, choose the Server icon and check it's properties. You should find an option to enable EMAIL server. Connect it to any of the Distribution layer switches.
Hope this helps get you started on the learning curve :-)

  • WRT54G....Can I set DHCP to use the router for DNS instead of external DNS?

Hi folks. I cant' get my router to have DHCP tell my PCs that the router should be the DNS server instead of the external servers it is using. I am using Comcast Cable internet. It sets the external DNS servers for every PC that connects to it and I have problems finding my PCs on my network by NetBIOS name because the external DNS servers obviously don't store my local PCs. How can I set the router up to set DHCP to use the router for DNS?

If you cannot set the DNS server in the configuration page for the DHCP server in your router then your router does not support this.
This won't solve your problem though. The DNS server on the router is a simply forwarder. It simply forwards the DNS requests from your computer to the ISP's DNS servers. The DNS server does not accept dynamic updates to a private zone inside your LAN. And DNS is pretty much unrelated to the standard windows workgroup browsing which does the actual name resolution inside your LAN. That name resolution even works without a router inside your network. Basically all windows computers in your network periodically broadcast their name to the network. One windows computers is elected "master browser" which collects all these names and provides the name resolution service for all computers in the workgroup.
If this does not work it is most likely a windows configuration problem. It could be a software firewall on the computers which blocks traffic. It could be that the computers are not setup for file/printer sharing and thus have the computer browser disabled. It could be that your computers have a WINS server configured which does not exist. There are probably more causes. The better source to ask this question would probably a Microsoft support group. They deal with these kinds of issues more often and maybe a MVP may be able to point you into the right direction or give some links to step-by-step instructions...

  • Problem in configuring IPv6 interface with default  Router lifetime.

I'm facing Problem in configuring IPv6 interface with default
Router lifetime through a router advertisement.
I'm also see an unusual behavior that even after configuring accept_rtadv=0,
    the ipv6 address is configured.
    Please help in out .

Mac OS 9 does not support IPv6. While you can have IPv6 on your network, a Macintosh running Mac OS 9.2.2 or earlier cannot make connections to services using this network protocol.
To use IPv6 on a Macintosh, you need Mac OS X 10.1 or later (as far as I know).

  • Help. How to configure ASA5515 as 'one armed router' for access to DHCP server on a different VLAN

    Hi,
    My setup
         router > ASA5515(ver8.6) > 4 SGE2010p switches
I want to put the guest WiFi users on a separate network. I have layer 2 switches and want to configure the ASA5515 as a 'router on a stick' setup for the guest vlan to have access to the DHCP server on the native vlan.
    I have
    1. created a sub-interface for the inside interface and enabled intra-interface traffic.
    2. A static route on the ASA point the guest network to the switch.
What else do I need to configure on the ASA for inter-vlan routing?
    ASA related config:
    interface GigabitEthernet0/1
     nameif inside
     security-level 100
     ip address 10.15.xx.1 255.255.252.0 standby 10.15.xx.2
    interface GigabitEthernet0/1.2
     vlan 100
     no nameif
     no security-level
     ip address 10.100.xx.1 255.255.255.0
    C    10.15.xx.0 255.255.252.0 is directly connected, inside
    S    10.100.xx.0 255.255.255.0 [1/0] via 10.100.xx.2, inside

Thanks for the quick response Reza.
Actually that command is already there. Didn't include it in my post.
So I am guessing my ASA config is correct.
I am having trouble setting up the trunk ports on the layer2 SGE2010P switch for trunk port.
I am used to command line layer3 switches (CLI is wasy) but not familiar with these switches GUI. I am going through the config guide right now.
Could you help me with that too?
Not to bother you with a completely different issue though.
    Thanks again!

  • Problem for connecting my computer to my wireless router via ethernet cable

I have a wireles router model BEFW11S4. I have three computers connected to the router by wireless. All these connection work well. I have also a computer connected to the same router via an ethernet cable. This connection does not work, I cannot access internet with that computer. What can I do to correct the problem?

First off, you need to ascertain if the network card in the computer that is not working is capable of sending and receiving legitimate packets.
Best thing to do is try and connect this machine directly to your Internet Service Provider modem and see if it works.
If it doesn't, first you need to check if your computer is capable of acquiring an IP address automatically (See below for details).
If it is setup to acquire an IP address automatically, but still does not work you either need to find someone who knows how to test network hardware for you or you could try installing a different network card in your computer.
There are 2 ways a computer can receive an IP address. A typical way is for your router to provide one to the workstation using something called DHCP. The other method requires you to know the exact IP addressing required on your LAN such that your workstation when manually configured with an IP address knows where to send it's packets to get out to the Internet.
To check if the computer that does not work is configured to "automatically" receive an IP address from your router, do the following:
    1. click on Start
    2. click on Control Panel
    3. double-click on Network Connections
    4. right single-click on "Local Area Connection"
    5. click on Properties
    6. Scroll down the list until you see "Internet Protocol (TCPIP)"
    and then double-click that item
    7. Make sure "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" are checked.
This setting allows the workstation to send a broadcast message looking for a DHCP server which can assign an IP address to the workstation. Your router typically would have a DHCP server configured for providing IP addresses. The typical home-based routers can be configured to run a DHCP server or not. Chances are that your wireless computers are automatically acquiring an IP address from your router and therefore it should work on Ethernet connections as well.
It is possible for something to be not working inside your router that would prevent the DHCP server from distributing IP addresses only on the Ethernet connections. If this is the case you would have to acquire a new router.
There is more that can be looked at, but this is where you need to start.

    Hi Moh,
First, thanks for pointing out that I'm in the wrong section of the forums.  My bad.  I'll pay closer attention next time.
Second, I tried your suggestion but it failed to work.  I cleared the configs of the router so I could start with a clean slate and followed your commands to the letter.  The host can't seem to get an IP assigned and the here's what I get with a Show IP DHCP Pool:
    Router_1#show ip dhcp pool
    Pool vlan1 :
     Utilization mark (high/low)    : 100 / 0
     Subnet size (first/next)       : 0 / 0
     Total addresses                : 254
     Leased addresses               : 0
     Pending event                  : none
1 subnet is currently in the pool :
Current index        IP address range                    Leased addresses
     192.168.10.1         192.168.10.1     - 192.168.10.254    0

  • Routing for configurable material

    Hello PP gurs,
I want to create Routing for Configurable Material in SAP PP-PI or PP industries. How the object dependency is defined applied ?
This requirement is for Make TO Order scenario for Configurable Material.
At present I am working with resources only.
I want to create in such away So that while creating Production order  system should ask select BOM & routing.
How can I define the Super BOM & Super Routing in Order?
Is it possible to calculate cost for this kind of requirement?
Please Give your Contribution from Whatever  the Questions above....
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhavik Dangi.

    Dear,
In can explain youn w/ example
Let us say you have to manufactur CAR's(matyerial no in SAP is CAR). The coonfiguration options are - Paint, and tyre
Create a char inn CT04 as piant and tyre with value as below(data type = char)
Paint - white, red, blue and black
    Tyre - Redial, Normal
    Create materials like White-paint,  Red-paint,  Blue-paint,  black-paint, Tyre-redial, tyre-Normal, Engine
Create a class in CL01 called CAR-CLASS , clas type 300 and assign the above Char to this class
Assign this class to Material CAR.
    Create BOm with following items
    Engine
    White-paint
    RED paint
    Blue-paint,
    black-paint,
    Tyre-redial,
    tyre-Normal,
Create a object dependency in CU40 type - selcetion condition to selcet red-paint material when in Sales order select paint red. and like this all others.
Selection condition for red paint is as below
    Paint = 'red'
    Like this for all others
    Paint = 'white'
    Paint = 'black'
    Paint = 'blue'
    Tyre = 'Normal'
    Tyre = 'Redial'
Assign this object dependency to BOm items
    Engine
    White-paint -
    >Paint = 'white'
    RED paint -
    >Paint = 'red'
    Blue-paint,  -
    >Paint = 'blue'
    black-paint, -
    >Paint = 'black'
    Tyre-redial, -
    >Tyre = 'Redial'
    tyre-Normal---->Tyre = 'Normal'
    Now create a configuration profile
When you create a Sales order, system will pronmpt to enter the vlaues for piant and tyre
if you have selceted piant as red and tyre as normal, then the BOm will look like as below
    Engine
    RED paint
    tyre-Normal
This is the configured BOM...what you have cretaed is supre BOM.
    It is available in PP

  • Problem creating a sales order for configurable material in SAP ECC

I have a Variant Configurable material named X.
The structure of this VC material is
    Material X has charatcertics CHARCTERISTIC1 and CHARCTERISTIC2.
    CHARCTERISTIC1 has values VALUE1
    CHARCTERISTIC2 has values VALUE2
I created a sales order manually from VA01 using configurable material and read the values of all configuration tables to be filled from BAPISDORDER_GETDETAILEDLIST. With the help of this data i got an idea how to fill the tables of BAPI BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2. But still i am able to create a sales order but the configuration data that i give is not getting populated in the sales order.
Where am i missing. please some body suggest. I am unable to debug and searched the forums
for this information but dint find solution for my problem. some body please tell me where am i missing?
Any help would be highly appreciated

Even after maintaining the item category MTAC(Mills Make to order config at mat level), the configurable material is not getting replaced in the sales order (va02). It is just showing material variant exists for the configurable material.
The setting in item category for configuration is.
Config. Strategy     01(Sales Order Strategy (TAC, TAM))
Mat. Variant Action  4 (Replace configurable material (Append and change))
ATP material variant 2 (Do not substitute if not completely available)
Structure scope      D (Configuration, poss. with BOM explosion)
I have maintained the stock for material variant as well to take care of ATP material varinat setting shown above.
    Please suggest if missing something.

  • Problem in configuring SSO using SAML for applications hosted on diff m/c

    Hi Techies,
I am stuck in a weird problem for past month or so without any resolution. Not much help by googling. So I hope i get the answer from the mouth of the horses -
I am trying to use SSO using the sample application appA and appB as stated in the tutorial of SSO by BEA.
I am summarizing the problem below -
Steps followed for Configuring SSO using SAML
    1. Created 2 domains on 2 seperate machines namely domainA and domainB
    2. Source appliction is deployed on domainA and the target application is deployed on domaninB
The steps mentioned in the following tutorial has been followed-
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/pub/a/2006/12/sso-with-saml.html
    3. As mentioned in the tutorial the certificate is generated using keytool utility. The same certificate is copied
    to WEBLOGIC_HOME/server/lib of destination machine.
    4. The certificate was successfully registered on desitnation or host 2 but while activating the configuration
changes(SSL client Ientity Alias and SSL Client Identity Pass Phrase) for Federation services the following error
    is thrown -
" SAMLBeanUpdateListener: SAMLKeyManager.prepareUpdate() failed with exception:
weblogic.descriptor.BeanUpdateRejectedException: SAML key Manage failed to validate key (SSL Client) configuration
in the FederationServicesMBean, key alias: testalias "
The interesting bit of the problem is that the same configuration works on 2 domains created on same machine. The
problem only occurs when domains are created on seperate machines.
Alterative to the problem: when the certificate is generated seperately for domainB and copied to
WEBLOGIC_HOME/server/lib, it works. However, the certificate generated in domainA should have been copied.
Note: I am using Weblogic portal 9.2.1
Any quick replies will be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi François,
You are right about the use of the NameID format. But the issue here is/was that OIF at SP is integrated with OAM, and the authenticated user at OIF-SP and OAM will be the Anonymous user rather than the user who was identified at the IdP even though the remaining attributes sent are for the IdP user. I think these attributes can be used by with OAM for authorization using custom authorization plug-ins but haven't tried that one out.
As for the attribute sharing profile, it's this one - http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/download.php/18058/sstc-saml-x509-authn-attrib-profile-cd-02.pdf, although for the life of me, I cannot remember why I suggested this in the first place!

You can do NAT in same way, here the logical name of the interface will be different.
