Problem in Checked-in Content Item in UCM

Hi All,
Previously I have checked-in a content item into UCM. but after while I deleted all revisions because I didn't need that file.
Problem is that when I perform search, That content Item visibles, and when I click on content info button then it gives me error "Content item is no longer available in System".
Plz tell me Why search result gives me that page which I have deleted ?
Note: We have configured "Full text Search" Engine in our System.

Was you index rebuild cycle successful?
Try this run below query on Oracle UCM database schema
You can find out which collection is in use by looking @ <install dir>/search/activeindex.hda file
select * from idccoll2/idccoll1 where ddocname LIKE '<dDocName of content id of which you deleted all revisions>';
if you get result that means either rebuild cycle was not successful or not yet complete and using old index collection.
Try one more time by noting down which is current index collection by looking @ activeindex.hda then rebuild index collection after rebuild & restarting CS server check activeindex.hda file to see if new collection to use is updated in this file.

  • Problem with Checking In/Out Items in Content Area

    I've been reading the Portal On-Line help pages in regards to
    checking in/out items. The help states that when an item is
    checked out, the item is locked and a message "Checked out by:
    UserName" is displayed next to the item. When I check out an
    item, I do not see this "Checked out by" message. However, I do
    see the checkout icon. Note - I am doing this through the
    Content Area Navigation page. Is there something that I am
    missing? (I have seen other threads in regards to the
    checkin/checkout icons not displaying when the Content Area is
    published as a portlet. We are having this problem as well.)
    However, the lack of the "checked out" message happens in both
    the Content Area Navigator and the published portlet.
    Also, is there a way to get Portal to automatically generate
    version numbers when a new version of an item is created. I see
    that you can create a unique name or description .... but I'd
    like to have Portal generate the version number for me. This is
    done in the Application component section when you build forms,
    menus, or reports.

    The "checked out by" message only appears to other users - you
    won't see it if you are the user who checked out the item.
    The version number is planned for a future release.

  • How to limit the number of version of a content item in UCM?

    Hi,
    I am looking for a solution to limit the number of versions which can be created for a content item. It should be configurable as in future if I need to increase or decrease, it should be possible.
    I have seen the solution given in Re: Limiting number of revisions
    Here its delete the previous versions . But i dont want it to be deleted.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Random ideas
    Records. If an item in URM is set to be a Record then it can only have one revision ever.
    Archiver can be used to export revisions to keep only a certain number of revisions in the system. The old revisions are deleted from the UCM but can continue to exist in the exported Archives and could be re-imported if desired.
    Custom filter code to check number of revisions and stop a checkin dynamically (as mentioned in other replies to your post)

  • Publisher 6.4 to 6.5 - unable to check out content items

    Hello,
    We upgraded from publisher 6.4 to 6.5 and now are having issues with existing content.
    When trying to check out a content item - the browser hangs - checking task manager IE is hung but continually grabbing memory.
    Eventually it comes back as a Windows Internet Explorer error - Out of Memory at line 21 - then it just ignore any other clicks to the 'Check Out' link.
    Previous to this I got an error that said
    "Stop running script?
    A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly.
    If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive."
    So I did this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175500
    But now I get the out of memory error.
    I cannot even check out the content item to see what the issue is. It is not all content items just this one. Trying to find a way to edit it...
    Suggestions? Any thoughts?

    Did you check the publisher log files? Logs should be located here ptcs\6.5\logs
    you could also try increasing the amount of memory publisher uses by changing the min/max settings in this file.. ptcs\6.5\settings\config\service.conf
    After you change the memory settings you may need to uninstall and reinstall the publisher service using the ptcs\6.5\bin\service.bat -remove and -intall....

  • Getting '...A general database error...' on checking-in content item

    Hi All:
    We get the following error message in ALI publisher when we try to check-in a content item:
    Error: Unable to complete the operation. A general database error occurred.
    But Editing and Saving changes works. Even publishing the contentn item works without giving any error.
    Any idea what could be causing the 'general database error..'? and how to fix it. I appreciate.
    Publisher release is 6.3 for Win, ALUI release is 6.1 mp for Win. Thanks!

    Ok. I found out what was causing the error. It was due to an errant Job that was mistakening scheduled to execute too frequently and so it ended-up creating a huge amount of data that blew-out available space in the database.
    com.plumtree.jdbc.base.BaseBatchUpdateException: [plumtree][Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-01654: unable to extend index CONTENT_SYS.IX_PCSFOLDERINFOLDERPARENTID by 128 in tablespace CONTENT_DATA
    (DataDatabaseError: Unable to complete the operation. A general database error occurred.)
    BTW, i realise the top-level error msg was just too generic that it could have been resulting from any number of underlying issues.

    We need to assign content to more than one LDAP groups. We cannot use LDAP integration becoz this is for External users and not content contriubtors.
    Can collboration management component be used for this. Will it allow to assign multiple LDAP groups to content items in UCM

    ACL's can restrict access to content on a
    per user/per content item basis
    OR
    per Alias/ per content item basis
    There are two separately stored delimited lists of user id's and aliases along with permissions
    e.g.
    jsmith(RWD)
    finance_users(RW)
    In the example above finance_users is an alias (a group of users normally administered thorugh the User Admin applet). Out of the box you can not directly assign permissions to an LDAP group...
    However in the past I have seen customizations which (at log in time) capture particular LDAP group memberships and store these as Alias memberships.
    In this way you have an equivalent Alias for every important LDAP group and you can then assign permissions in the way you want.

    By release you mean you are unable to checkin a document?
    How are you trying to checkin the document? DIS, SOAP, standard checkin form page??
    It looks as if you haven`t supplied a security group or content id on the document meta data when you have checked in the document..
    You can automatically assign content ids by going to admin server and enabling auto assign id check box.
    John should only need the admin role, that will give the user full access.

    shouldn't the method be a POST not a GET? I don't think that will end up being the "whole" problem, but I think it might be contributing to issues...

  • Content Presenter In-Line Editing Against Many UCM Content Items

    I have a question regarding the Content Presenter task flow with In-Line editing that is part of Webcenter. I understand that I can drag and drop a UCM content item and a content presenter task flow to a page in JDEV. This enables me to display a single content item and perform inline editing by pressing "ctrl-shift-c".
    What I am trying to accomplish is generating a RIDC UCM query to return results to a page. Once I have these results ordered by metadata filters I would like to be able to perform in-line editing on these content items. Is there a way to configure the Webcenter inline editing to work with these RIDC query results.
    I realize I could, instead of using RIDC drop many content presenters on the page but that is not as dynamic as retrieving this search results from UCM.
    Is there a way to accomplish this with the webcenter in-line editing or do you have to use Site Studio to gain this functionality.

    It is possible.
    You just need to pass the id of the document to your content presenter.

    This shows you how you can dynamicly set the content of the content presenter. In this post, i don't edit the document but that's not a problem. It will show you how to dynamicly update the content presenter with the correct document.

    Run collection rebuild and the deleted items will be removed from the index . Then those set of contents will not show up in search results .

    I have checked the idc analyze. "check search index" is not running shows error. please check the log file below without selecting "check search index" other three(check database, check file system, generate report) ends with 0 errors. Is there any other solution to clear the workflow items?

    I have a problem about UCM 10g and the embedded Tomcat (JSP).
    My goal is run a wabapp (.war file). I had already checked the security group policy and every time that I get the "JSP Web App Administration" page I read "The content item may be in webless storage" near my .war. and every possible actions are disabled.
    Could someone give me an hint?

    I tried to copy the .WAR and it didn't work. I also tried to upload the webapp folder of and it didn't work.
    I have to say that if I upload a simple JSP it work. Now to solve the situation I decide to move all the logic inside my componente but it is a bit hard. I have a problem to solve my requirements.

  • How to allow CS users to update metadata on several items? (UCM 10gR3)

    In the UCM 10gR3 portal user interface:
    It is convenient for us to allow users to update metadata fields on a group of items in one action. We want to allow users to select any number of files from a CS search result.
    After selecting the items, we want to users to be able to set new values for some fields (e.g. Security Group and Document Type) without touching the values of the other metadata fields (such as Author).
    This seems to be pretty basic functionality, but we cannot seem to find it in the CS user interface. What is the easiest way to do this in the CS user interface?

    Unfortunately freezing the metadata model is not an option in practice. While we may make a model that serves us well for the time being, we are likely to end up in a situation where the outside world invalidates our metadata model.
    A hypothetical case
    From the UCM Administration Manual:
    "Choose only static information as a security group. For example, department names change infrequently, so they can be considered static; projects come and go, so they might not be considered static."
    Although department names may change infrequently, they are likely to change sometimes. Sometimes departments are split up or merged.
    A real case
    In our concrete case, a project will generate a large amount of content distributed over many content items. After the production of this content within the project the responsibility will be transferred to a number of different departments. It is thus impossible to know in advance which metadata model will be suitable and it seems that the archiver is inefficient in solving the problem of delegating the content to different security groups.
    Obviously, we are not interested in making heavy customization that we need to maintain. And reassigning the security group of many content items individually is not a feasible solution.
    Has anyone had similar needs? What solutions have you used?

    I am trying to check in a new file use the service "CHECKIN_NEW" in UCM 11.1.1.6.
    I checkin the *"CHECIN_NEW_TEST.hcst"* into the content server. And run it by submit the page to test the service.

    It's really more of an HTML issue with the form itself than a Content Server issue.
    <form name="cuxCheckinNewPG" method="get" action="<$HttpCgiPath$>">You can't submit files using a GET method. This attribute must be "POST".
    <form name="cuxCheckinNewPG" method="POST" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="<$HttpCgiPath$>">
