Problem updating InDesign CC from 9.2.2

I can't update my InDesign CC from 9.2.2. Which means I can't open documents that are created in the newer version (10). I've tried starting the application manager but get the error code A12E6.
What to do? I'm on MacBook Pro, OS Yosemite.

Posted the entire text from the error window, when trying to update, using the normal NON-TECHIE way to update any and all Adobe CC products, via the Creative Cloud updater installed when Adobe Creative Cloud subscription was purchased when first offered.
    The following occurs, ad nauseam:
There was a problem updating InDesign CC
For more information see the specific error below.
    Update Failed
Download error.  Press Retry to try again or contact customer support.(49)
Here's the crux of my frustration:
    (1) Customer Service is NOT contact-able, to receive LIVE help.
    (2) There is NO way for me to mitigate this "Download error", being a student learning InDesign, and NOT in any way capable of tweaking folders/files here and there.
    Therefore, the real question:
Given that a significant number of subscribers are having the above referenced issue with attempting to download the current update for InDesign, WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO, in order to get our contractually paid-for updates to our legally and contractually paid-for Adobe software, specifically in my case, InDesgin's current update?
Please, NO TECHNICAL mumbo-jumbo which most likely will cause the overwhelming majority of users, like me, to seriously corrupt their computer files, but rather an honest, straightforward "what to do" from real CS/Engineers working for Adobe, as to how to FIX this issue, period.

    UPDATE:
Here is a way in which I think I was able to "update" my InDesign CC application:
    (1) Sign-In to your Adobe Account
    https://www.adobe.com/
    (2) Click on the MENU icon
    (3) Click on the product InDesign icon
Your browser should display the page for Adobe InDesign CC
    https://www.adobe.com/products/indesign.html?promoid=KLXLU
    (4) Click on the Download icon,
Your browser should now display the page to download InDesign,
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/indesign
    (5) a Pop-Up window should open, and display:
      Launch Application
This link needs to be opened with an application.
with the first option to select being the CreativeCloud(URIHandler)
    (5) Select this application and click OK.
What happened when I followed steps (1) thorugh (5) is that:
    (a) InDesign CC(2014) was installed,
    (b) InDesign CC, updated, and then
    (c) InDesign CC(2014), also updated.
Why this all worked, is a mystery to me.
Looks like a separate, "new" version of InDesign, InDesign CC(2014), was installed, the existing "old" InDesign was updated, and then the newly installed Indesign CC(2014) was further updated.
A BIT MORE, when I launched my InDesign CC app, and checked to see if there were Updates Available, there in fact was an Adobe InDesign CC 64 bit (9.2.2) update.
I clicked on UPDATE and my "old" InDesign CC app was "successfully updated."
FURTHER INFO:  I may have neglected to list some important info ... OS:  Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center, 64-bit
Confused, I am able to launch BOTH of these apps, and hopefully I may use one of these versions of the InDesign CC app, to do some InDesign work.
    Will keep y'all posted!

  • Can't update InDesign CC from 9.0 to 9.1

I've tried re-installing InDesign CC several times, but I can't update 9.0 to 9.1. My problem is that the option to update does not appear. I've tried going through the Help > Updates panel in InDesign as well as the Creative Cloud app. Both say the app is "Up to date" but it's a lie! It says 9.0 when I look at the info.
When I uninstall InDesign CC and the Creative Cloud app and reinstall I get a notice that there IS an update but when I click it, I get an error and it won't download. Then CC app restarts itself and the update is gone.
WHAT DO I DO??? I've spent hours downloading and uninstalling and reinstalling.

    Steve Werner wrote:

We have been down this road before.
If you can download this update (ID 9.1) from the Adobe website why don't you point out where or provide a direct link.
It would be great if you could download updates the way we used to be able to. But no more with CC.

  • Possible solution for people having problems updating InDesign CC to 9.2.2 on Windows 7/8

So after InDesign CC x64 (x32 version seemed fine?) giving me constant update failed errors and about four different error codes each different way I tried to fix it, I decided to find out why, like many I have been getting this in my Install log.
FATAL: Payload 'Adobe InDesign CC x64 Application Language Files_9.2.1.101_AdobeInDesign9AppLang64-en_US 8.0.0.15 {35937D37-6FF2-1014-BDC2-9CD1656E73E4}' information not found in Media_db.
Reinstalling via Control Panel or the CC Cleaner tool did nothing to remedy the situation and the same error kept occurring, even though CC is meant to download the language files (apparently)
However, what I thought was odd was the fact that it references 9.2.1 not 9.2.2. It seems Adobe CC installs InDesign CC 9.2.1 from a fresh install but then fails on the 9.2.2 patch, but it seems 9.2.1 itself is either corrupted or something doesn't go right with the language packs as the error above shows.
SOLUTION: Manually install both the 9.2.1 and 9.2.2 patches.
    Get them from here: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-updates-direct-links-windows.html
Both will be named setup.zip, so rename them to something like setup_9.2.1 and setup_9.2.2 and extract both zip archives.
Install the 9.2.1 patch followed by the 9.2.2 patch, reboot and Creative Cloud should stop whining. It worked for me on Windows 8.1, open up InDesign > Help > About InDesign and check the version, it should be 9.2.2.
    PROFIT.
Hope this works for others. Hopefully Adobe fix this in a CC app update, as this had me going in circles for a while.

    Hello,
    This solution worked for me.
I was encountering the Error Code — U44M1P34.
This error occurred when Creative Cloud Manager notified me of the InDesign CC 9.2.2 update.
I tried almost everything, removing / uninstalling the program, removing / uninstalling all the programs, deleting all the left behind folders of the programs, re-downloading them from Creative Cloud Manager and even trying manually to install the 9.2.2 update.
    Thank you.

  • Swing Gurus Help! Problem updating a JProgressBar from within a listener.

    Hello all,
I have a static JProgressBar attached to the Main JFrame of my application. One of the screens of my app has a JTable on it. I have a ListSelectionListener attached to the table. When an item is selected on the JTable, I pull some information out of it (Using the ListSelectionModel) and kick off a pretty lengthy process. This of course all happens inside the ListSelectionListener. My problem is that when I call into my JFrame (MainFrame.java) to update the ProgressBar, nothing happens.
The first line of my valueChanged(ListSelecteEvent e) method is
if (e.getValueIsAdjusting()) return; The next line is call to the progress bar:
MainFrame.setExecutionProgress(10, "Opening...");When the code is like this, the progress bar isn't updated until after the method valueChanged() method returns. However, if I put the call to setExecutionProgress() before the if (e.getValueIsAdjusting()) check, the progress bar actually changes.
The second scenario I mentioned above doesn't really help me because subsequent calls to MainFrame.setExecutionProgress() don't work from within the body of the valueChanged() method until it has returned.
Is this a threading issue? I've tried wrapping calls with SwingUtilitilies.invokeLater(), but I can't get anythin to work. Any ideas?
    Thanks much in advance.
    -Toby

Where do you kick off this 'lengthy process'? The process is kicked off within the listener. What makes it long is that some of the objects created in this process have to reach out to a web-service for initialization.
Also, how do you know how far the lengthy process is?Well I create a few projects and just bump the progress meter by 10 or so with each object. I'm not really worried about the accuracy of the progress meter (a la Microsoft =), because I just want to give the user some visual indication something is happening behind the scenes (besides the hour-glass).
I think I understand how you'd kick this process off in a thread, but how would you create another thread that's capable of monitoring the first? I mean how do you accomplish the inter-thread communication?
    ddinks much for the help!

  • I just bought a used iMac and I'm having problems updating my apps from the app store! it shows that i am signed in, but when trying to update, the email of previous owner shows and i cannot change it! how can i fix this?

how can i change the email from previous owner of the computer to mine?

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
1a. If you don't own another Mac
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
1b. If you do own another Mac
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
    2. Partition and install OS X
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
Launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In thePartition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. If you're installing a version of OS X acquired from the App Store, you will need the Apple ID and password that you used. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're irrevocably linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a lifetime limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.

  • Problems Updating BB 8520 from SFR France.

HI! I have a bb 8520 and when i open it i get an SFR icon. I works just fine but i cannot configurate my email account because i have only the "...a work email account..."option available.
Also under the TCP/IP option in the advance options, I do not have nothing alse...when...i should.
I think all this isSFR fingerprint.
Oh, and I can't do an wireless update because i don't have that option available either.
Is there someone in this situation? Can anyone help me sayng what should i do to configure my email box?
I do not have an blackberry plan with my Orange network. Is there an posibility to update my phone without it? I have unlimited internet traffic, also a wi-fi network at my home. I e-mailed my provider but...no answer from there.
I heard about some trick when the vendor file from the descktop blackberry manager must be deleted. i dis...i tried a lot of methods but no result.
      Pls help! I need assistance.

Wow...you have something like 5 different issues all intertwined there...I'll try to decipher them and provide what I can, but  given the convoluted nature of it all, I am sure I'll miss something.
    First, email:
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.
Since you say you don't have a BB data plan, that is the root cause of this issue...you must, or you cannot have email. Period. Generic data plans, even if "unlimited", do not provide you access to the enhanced and proprietary BB PUSH email services.
    Second, Settings:
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! Given that you don't have a BB data plan, the Service Books likely won't work for they are part of that plan.
    Third, Device OS updating:
Never never never never do an OTA update. Never. Period. They are dangerous.
Rather, always do a tethered update, via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
If you elect to use an OS package from other than your home carrier, then insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML
    OK...that's only three...as I said, I'm sure I'll have missed something.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Problems updating iPhone 3GS from 3.0.1

I have read numerous other posts on this topic, but they have not helped me. Whenever I connect my iPhone to my Mac, I am prompted to update the iPhone software, but this has failed repeatedly, with err=-3259. I have tried connecting the Mac to my wireless router with an ethernet cable, and have also tried turning off the firewall. I have no specific antivirus software installed to turn off. I have tried restoring my iPhone, but this also fails, as the iPhone software update is "timed out" with the same error message. Any ideas, anyone?

That's because Apple is no longer signing v3.1.3 nor any firmware other than iOS4.  You could try following a downgrade to v3.1.3, see these:

When I try to update Indesign CS6 from 8.0 to 8.0.2 it takes me to the Application Manager, but the AM says all my CS products are up to date. So i tried downloading the patch separately, and it says it's not applicable. So actually, the AM won't show any updates for any other products even though i'm sure they're out dated some too.

Thanks. Just tried it, and it looked promising, but it still yields the same message saying everything is up to date. My colleague is not having this issue. So it's puzzling.

  • Problem updating itunes to 10.7

Hi im having a problem updating my itunes from 10.6.3.25 to 10.7. Basically if im updating using the the apple software update it finishes downloading and when it gets to verifying the file i get a error message that says ' "ITunes" has an invalid signature. It will not be installed'. Ive also downloaded the file manually from the apple site and when i click on it to install, both normal and run as admin, it doesnt do anything. You see a wee loading bar for literally a second at most and then it disapears. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Mmm... it gets worse.  At about the fifth attempt it appeared to install okay but when I restarted my PC I got the error message
"iTunes was not properly installed.  If you want to import or burn CDs you need to reinstall iTunes."
Running diagnostics suggests there's something wrong with the CD Drive connectivity although it seems to be working okay.
I tried to restore to a previous version, but that seems to have thrown up other error messages.
Guess I'll have to reinstall.  What a pain.
