Putaway strategy EWR (storage location re pack)

Hello Experts,
In order to repack certain part numbers that come in as nested HUs, yet need to be delivered as single HUs (subwoofer, Klima compressor, u2026), directly after goods receipt, these parts should be redirected directly to the repack area. Therefore we ask for the creation of a putaway strategy EWR that will allow for this.
Could you help me to know what  puway strategy can l use and how configurate this in the system.
Regards,
Hugo

Hi,
First put way strategy is for different function it is not meant for packing function
You can explore packing functionality and or HANDLING UNIT MANAGEMENT
In your case you have to distributed HU and this you want to pack in 1 HU
Check t-code HUPAST
When you go inside you will find option Pack material and pack HUs

  • Pallet putaway strategy question

    Dear all,
I am new in the pallet putaway strategy and need your experience advise if you have done this.
    Question.
1 - To use the pallet putaway strategy (i.e. P), do I need to configure the Storage Bin Type search (i.e. spro > logistics execution > wm > strategies > activate storage bin type search)?? Is it compulsory?
2 - To use the pallet putaway strategy, the storage type MUST BE a SUT-managed and that the "SUT check activate" checkbox MUST Checked, am I correct?
    thanks
    Tuff

    Hi,
the storage bin type search and the storage unit type check more or less is the same. You have to define storage unit types, storage bin types, assign which SUT goes into which SBT. Well, and then you activate the check.
You need to do this for the pallet strategy. You do NOT need to activate the storage unit management in a storage type with the pallet strategy.

  • Issu storage location

    Hi,
Where can we maintain (in material master) the   Issue storage location? like we can maintain storage location for Extl procurement in MRP view.
    Regards,
    Sattuj

    Hi,
issue storage loc is maintained in the Bom item of the component or via MRP Group or in material master prodn storage loc,.
    Storage Location/Supply Area Determination
    Use
You use the storage location/supply area determination function to define the strategy the system is to use in BOM explosion and in MRP to determine the issue storage location (production storage location or supply area) for the components.
    Integration
The procedure described below is the same for both storage location determination and supply area determination.
    Prerequisites
You must define the production storage location for the components in the BOM item of the assembly BOM. The system then reads this storage location in the BOM explosion and uses it as issue storage location.
If you have not defined a storage location (production storage location) in the BOM, you can set the strategy the system is to use in BOM explosion to determine the issue storage location (production storage location) from which the components are to be withdrawn. You set this strategy for the MRP group in Customizing for MRP or for Repetitive Manufacturing in the IMG activity Define Stor.Loc./Supply Area Determination in BOM Explosion.
    Features
In the BOM explosion, the system tries to find a storage location in the BOM item (component). If no production storage location has been defined for the BOM item, the system reads the MRP group of the assembly or of the finished product to determine the strategy for storage location determination.
The following strategies are available for storage location determination:
If you select indicator 1 (only component), the system searches for the production storage location maintained for the material in the material master record. This storage location is then used as the issue storage location and is displayed in the component list.
You use this procedure for determining the issue location if you always withdraw one component from one specific storage location.
If you select indicator 2 (only assembly), the system checks to see whether the proposal issue location has been maintained in the production version of the produced assembly or of the finished product. If the proposal issue location has been maintained, this location is used as the issue storage location for all components and is displayed in the component list. If no proposal issue location has been maintained, the system uses the receiving storage location of the assembly as the issue storage location for the components. You can maintain the receiving storage location in the production version of the assembly in the field Issue storage location or in the material master record of the assembly in the field Prod. stor. location. If none of these entries have been maintained, the system can also use the ‘to location’ in the backflushing transaction for Repetitive Manufacturing as the issue storage location for the components.
You should use this procedure for determining the issue storage location if all the components are stored together at a storage location close to the production line where they are needed.
If you select strategy "2" in repetitive manufacturing, the system checks the planned order for the production storage location. Then the system proceeds as described above.
If you select strategy "3", the system first proceeds as described for indicator 1. If it does not find a storage location using this strategy, it then proceeds as described for strategy "2".
If you select strategy "4", the system first proceeds as described for strategy "2". If it does not find an issue location using this strategy, it then proceeds as described for strategy "1".
When backflushing for the planned order, the strategy is ignored. The system withdraws the components from the storage location saved in the planned order.

  • Stop delivery creation for perticular Storage Location

    Dear Experts
As per scenario we have two storage location 1) packing stock and 2) Ware House stock. All delivery are create from Ware house st.loaction.as per requiremnt we want to stop Delivery creation for Packing St.location.
Is ther any customization through which System should not Create Outbound delivery form Packing St.loaction, while doing this  rest of things sholud not affect for that S.Loaction
    Regards
    Pash@SD

Go to SPRO-> Logistics Execution ->shipping ->picking->determine pikcing location ->assign picking location.
Here you can remove the packing stock storage location assignment to plant/shipping point/storage conditions combination and then test.
If this does not work, then check the path SPRO-> Logistics Execution ->shipping ->picking->define picking requirements. Here check any requirements is currently used. If so copy this routine and create a new routine to exclude the storage location (packing stock) from picking process.

  • WM and Open storage putaway strategy

    Hi,
the following link gives an explanation about Open storage putaway strategy
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/c6/f844694afa11d182b90000e829fbfe/frameset.htm
    Strategy C: Open Storage
    Use
The system uses this putaway strategy to find the storage bin in an open storage section. Open storage is a type of warehouse organization in which you define a single storage bin for a storage section. The quants in the storage bin can also be in the form of mixed storage.
I think that in this strategy is also possible to define more than a single storage bin for a storage section.....or not?
So why the statement: you define a single storage bin for a storage section.
    Best regards

I cannot tell you why it is explained in this way, even the German explanation does not give any hint.
Open storage putaway strategy is the most used in my implementations and I can confirm that you can have hundreds of bins in one storage section.

  • U0093Addn to stocku0094 for putaway strategy u0093 u0093  in storage type not working

    Hi
It seems that the flag “Addn to stock” for putaway strategy “ “  in the storage type 103 configuration is not working fine as the quantities of the same material with the same batch sent to the same stype 103, and destination bin are not being added. So by running stock report in WM we see several lines with partial quantities instead of only one line with the total quantity in place. Do anybody know how can that be solved? Or what can be the route cause of the issue? Is there any OSS known applicable to fix the problem?
    Thx for your help

    Hi Alba,
Please check the WM views in MM.
    I've checked:
(SAP help pushing F1 when the cursor is set on this thick box)
<i>Indicator: Allow addition to existing stock
Indicator determining whether a material with particular characteristics may be added to existing stock of the same material with the same characteristics in one storage bin.

If the storage type control table does not allow additions to existing stock for this storage type, the indicator set in the material master record is ineffective.</i>

  • Putaway strategy for rack storage and floor

    HI
we have define one warehouse room as One Storage Type. its rack storage . Storage unit
managed . in each storage bin one Su (pallet) can be placed. Some times we keep stocks (on pallets) on the floor
(Pallets in one layer). No of Pallets(SU) is defined at that floor, say 100 pallets can be placed on the floor.
we need Capacity check method = 2 (Check based on palletization accord. to SUT 1).
Which Putaway strategy should be applied for this storage type.? considering 1 bin = 1 pallet and Pallets on the floor.
    thanks & regards
    thomas

    Hi Hein
yes, creating seperate storage type for racking and floor is a solution.
but if we want to keep it as whole room as One Storage type.
what you think about   putaway strategy "P" Pallet putaway strategy.   if we consider floor as speerate BIN TYPE and define BIN TYPE and SUT  permitted .  And Allowed SU in that BIN TYPE.
    your opnion please.

  • Difference between open storage & Bulk storage PUTAWAY STRATEGY

    Dear all,
What is main difference between open storage & Bulk storage PUTAWAY STRATEGY ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Olet Malla

    Hi,
Open storage is a type of warehouse organization in which you define a single storage bin for a storage section. Normally if it a large area with one (or more) storage sections.
Materials that occur in large quantities and generally take up a lot of space in storage are often stored in bulk storage. Mainly it is used for Reduced need for physical storage bins, Fast access to the trading units, Clear structuring of the warehouse (into blocks and rows)
This putaway strategy searches for storage bins in bulk storage.
    Thank you

  • [WM] Putaway strategy for bulk storage type SU-managed

    Hi Gurus,
    I need your help
I have a Bulk storage type with SU-managed. I would undestand the real behaviour of putaway strategy B.
    1)  Case 1: assume that in bulk storage type there are the followed bins (rows):
    - in bin XX1 there is material AAA
    - Bin XX2 is empty
In this situation if i receive material AAA, putaway strategy B chooses the bin XX1 by background processing - correct!
    2) Case 2: assume that in bulk storage type there are the followed bins (rows):
    - In Bin XX1 there is material AAA
    - in Bin XX2 there is material AAA
    - in Bin XX3 there is material AAA
In this situation if i receive material AAA, i don't undestand the behaviour of putaway strategy B. Seems that the system chooses in random way the bin (XX1, XX2 and XX3).
P.S: the storage unit type is one of default - E1.
    Can you help me?
    Thank very much

    You told
    Addn to Stock: X
    Block upon placement: empty
Then How can you have Case 2?
In Bin XX1 there is material AAA
Next time also stock goes to XX1 only not XX2 unless you overwrite manually.
What does your block strage structure looks like? i'm sorry but i don't undestand your question.
Go to OMM4 "Define-Block struct." and look No. SUs for your St. bin type, SUT & Bulk stor Ind.

  • Auto-copy putaway quantity in Inbound for Non-WMS storage location

    Dear All SAP Gurus,
I need to create an inbound delivery document for non-WM managed storage location and "copy" the quantity into the "putaway quantity" field automatically. Is there any setting to do this automatic assignment? As far as I know, if the storage location is non-WM managed, we usually need to manually enter the putaway quantity as part of the verification process during the PGR (goods receipt).
    Please help.
Thank you and appreciated for your efforts.

  • Storage location and post.chge storage location not in the same warehouse

    Hi All,
We have HU managed Storage Location, and in this Storage Location we have SUT managed Warehouse, Now while Goods Receipt we have to create inbound delivery, which is working fine and i can see my stock in Goods receipt area,, later on whicle creating Transfer Order to putaway in a bin i have a error message "Storage location and post.chge storage location not in the same warehouse" please help me with this error message. Thank you for all your inputs.
    Regards
    Samuel

    Hi Nagesh,
Thank you for the input. I am receiving Stock from vendor and while creating Inbound delivery i created the Handling Unit and also packed it and i could also post it (PG Receipt). Now when i am creating TO i have that error message. The Storage Location where i am receiving is 9001and i have also maintained the partner Storage location,,, its like this Plant(1000)-SLoc(9001)-Partner SLoc(9002).... now the Storage Location 9002 is not HU managed,, the reason i gave this Storage location is, initially i gave 9001, but system said "Storage Location 9001 and 9001 must have different management systems". So now kindly tell me what is the purpose of the partner Storage location and which storage location should i give, as my partner Storage location across "1000-9001-????" thank you again for ur inputs.

  • Putaway strategy 'Q' Dynamic quant

    Hi,
We have an issue with the internal movement of stock from a storage type that does not allow partial quantity picking.
Scenario: The Putaway strategy for the St type has been configured as 'Q' and picking strategy as 'F'. The available stock in the bin/quant is say 1000 Boxes. I have created a transfer order to pick only 600 boxes. when i confirm the transfer order system is confirming the full 1000 boxes rather than picking only partial qty. Full stock removal has not been activated for this St type in config.
We would like to know if this is something to do with the st type with Q config(like does Q allows picking of complete quant only?).
if anyone has faced this issue earlier would be great to get some hints.
    Thanks,
    Harish

For our movement type over deliveries are allowed. Below is my observation:
    1. when we transfer stock from bulk storage type system allowing us to confirm part pallet using mvt type say 9**.
    2. when we transfer stock from dynamic quant number then system does not allow us to confirm part pallet but confirms full pallet only and this is using the same mvt type 9**.
we are using same movement type for transfer of stock from both these storage type onto a staging area which is a interim location but system is behaving differently for these two scenarios.
I am not sure if standard SAP has made dynamic quant storage type to allow withdrawal of full pallet only and needs help if someone has faced similar issue.

    Harish

  • Using ID Point for Repacking - no putaway strategy allowed

    Hi All,
I have a business requirement to have an ID Point servicing inventory that is putaway to one specific storage type. HUM is active and when the goods are received at 902 they are potentially packed on a pallet. The pallet is moved to the ID point where it is unpacked and then put away.
The systems allows configuration of only one repacking area per warehouse number where you can assign a fixed bin.
Unfortunately the business do not want this activity happening at the normal repacking area (923) which is also used for other things so must remain configured.
In order to perform repacking at the ID Point I must have no putaway strategy assigned to the storage type. Without the putaway strategy. how can I get the system to select a bin - any bin will do, either a fixed bin, a dynamic coordinate, it doesn't matter.
I have a backup solution which to create a special movement indicator, new mvt type and enter the destination bin in the movement type, however I'm looking for something a little "nicer".
    Regards,
    Busaboy.

    Dear Karthik
You are right, I did activated Indicator: Activate Storage Unit Type Check for Stock Placement in SPRO->LE->WM->Master Data->Define Storage Type
The Indicator: Storage type with storage unit management was also ticked automatically by system when I selected Indicator: Activate Storaget Unit Type Check for Stock Placement.
Are you trying to say the ID Port defined in Storage Type will have higher priority over the Storage Type value I maintained in the Storage Type Search Table?
I have already maintained the Storage Bin and I still do not understand why system still go for ID port. As far as I know, system will suggest the Storage Type from ID Port ONLY if storage bin in this storage type as their destination are not maintained in first in the other setting.
    Quoted from SAP HELP
    Identification point for storage type
Identification point (storage type) of the current storage type.
All goods movements that do not have a specific storage bin in this storage type as their destination are first directed to the identification point.
Here the goods are identified and a transfer order is generated for the actual transfer of the goods into the storage type concerned.
    Please help.

  • Storage location reference per Storage location

    Hello Experts,
We have a storage location X000 and it has assign storage loc ref 00( GR to VZ1 ) therefore during the GR the storage loc S000 go through VZ1, before Schedule agreement is created with x000.
I require that in the same process the system go through EWJ and ETP for some materials and not go to VZ1. But the issue is that I cannot create several Storage location reference (00, 05,03) for the same storage location (X000)
I do not want create a storage location for each storage type.
    My currently configuration is:
    Storage location: x000
Storage location ref: 00 ( GR to VZ1)
    Storage type: VZ1
Strategy source: VZ1 with ref 00
    Material: WH 1 view VZ1
I require similar configuration for my news storage types EWJ, ETP but I require use the same storage location X000 it is possible? Or could you please recommend a idea..
    reagards,

    Hi,
If I understand correctly....you want three different material should putaway into three different storage type using same storage location reference...
It is possible. No need to create another storage location reference for the St.Locn: X000.
Assuming material A & B should go to storage type EWJ & ETP respectively.
    1) Maintain storage type indicator for putaway in WM view1: Mat. A=EWJ, B=ETP
    2) Maintain st. typ search strategy  W/H no.,E,EWJ, st loc. Ref.=00,.st.typ=EWJ .Similarly for st.typ indicator ETP, 00,ETP.
When there will be stock putaway for Material A,B & C system will find the st.typ indicator for putaway from WM view and get storage location reference 00 (set for st locn:X000) and will search the appropriate storage type in storage type search strategy and putaway material into st. typ EWJ, ETP and VZ1.
    Hope this will help.
