Query Changes: Variable not collected in Transport

Hi Experts,
Intiatlly some one created a query and it was transported to BWQ from BWD.
Due to some changes, I needed to rework on the query. For that I did the following:
a. In the Administrator Transport Workbench, I collected the query
b. CLicked on the Transport checkbox
c. Then assigned a new BEX Transport request.
d. I then made changes in the query plus added a variable in the query.
e. I checked my query and it was working fine in BWD.
Now when I transport this query to BWQ, the transport fails and says
"Error when acitvating element 4DKMNO0UMEXIN0FHM6RYXXJ3F"
"Element 4E5X3H4IQ5BEDSZY1I6GW4P2J" is missing in version M"
I think the transport is missing the variable I created. So why is this not collected?
Secondly since this transport request was released will I have to recollect the query and variable. If so how?
Thanks,
Hundia

I raised an OSS Message.
The reply from SAP was:
"We have analyzed the situation with the inconsistent queries.
1. The error message
'Unable ot detect element type for Element Recreated Formula:
DBJFSQOSAL3WPK8LSCNUWNAJ"' is raise as a result of incorrect repair
procedure most likely perfomed by the program ANALYZE_MISSING_ELEMENTS.
This is very old report which allowes repair, but unfortunately this
repair is not correct. Therefore we do not recommend you to use it
in similar cases.
The element DBJFSQOSAL3WPK8LSCNUWNAJ recreated by the program as a
local formula must have type Calculated Key Figure. This info can be
obtained just by analysis of the corresponding structure members which
has to represent this CKF in the query...
2. Missing element and INCONSISTENCY. This is logically related to
the first case. I have perfomed extended anylysis and the situation is
the following.
Affected query YTEMP_ZSCNNM04_01 (4B75NN07LN3TJVDW9VX8OUACR) contains
one unresolved reference to 4B773WHW1GK5WZAPK5CZHZSH7. This missing
element can be a local structure member (FLM or SEL) or a reusable
object like calculated or restricted KF
Affected query ZORQSP_ZSPNNM021_NN_05 (4DUV3IK29VBJESNEWX20PBXM3) also
contains one unresolved reference. This is pretty similar to the case
above. The missing element is CKF. This can be found from the definitionof the related element.
Affected query YY_FT_TEST has 3 unresolved references. Here the case
is a bit different. According to my analysis the missing elements are
just such global part of a query like Filter and Sheet. This more less
means the entire definition of this query is not available.
Possible solution.
As far as I see, all missing elements are local for the BWD system.
This means that most likely we can not use transports from the other
system. By just to use this option aswell, please check if some of thesemissing can be found in the other systems
4B773WHW1GK5WZAPK5CZHZSH7
4BO650QIIZZ51VCNLZXSC4MP7
4BO652NN9NEIPI7P2IIUUMB57
4BPGWZK405TZ1061K1FSQCT0R
4DVE6TT3PU9YJ6RQ4ETM2MDIJ
and
4DBJFSQOSAL3WPK8LSCNUWNAJ
If you find something, it is necessary to transport them to the BWD
system. This will solve some issues.
But probably you will not find them. Therefore the alternative way will
be to replaces the missing objects in the definition of the affected
queries by some other availabe objects. This is to be done manually.
For example mising CKF can be replaced by a constant value and then
in Query Designer replaced once again by any avaialbe CKF.
Such technique can help te achieve technical consistency of the queries
ZORQSP_ZSPNNM021_NN_04, YTEMP_ZSCNNM04_01 and ZORQSP_ZSPNNM021_NN_05.
Situaiton with the YY_FT_TEST is more critical. There are no chances
to repair this one. The only option will be to delete it using the
transaction RSZDELETE.
Please tell me how would you like to process. In principle, this case
is not really critical as the missing elements are just locally affect
queries and not used by reusable query components like CKFs/RKFs which
might be shared between many other queries also affecting them.

  • Query changes are not reflecting in the Workbook.

    Hi All,
I have modified the query by adding attributes. But the changes are not reflecting in the workbook.
Do i need to insert the query again in the workbook or is there any option that will reflect the changes in the workbook
    Thanks in Advance,
    Suneel.

    Hello Suneel,
if you insert the query again, it will work, but it is not the best way to delegate the query changes to the workbook.
Just open your query from within your workbook (BEx menu 'change global definition') and use the green button at the top left in order to transfer the new query structure to the workbook. The query will be executed and you should see the changes.
Don't forget to save the workbook afterwards.

  • IView and system admin objects appear changed or not registered when transported

    Hi,
Recently we moved a few objects - iViews, pages and roles as epa and system admin objects as config archive and imported them manually to Test system. But when checked in the next landscape, the iView properties appear different. Eg. In Development system, the iView was unchecked for visibility option i.e. iView should not be visible. But when transported to test system, the property was checked and gave error. On reimporting, the same thing happened and we had to manually correct the property. This is not an expected behaviour and manual changes are not to happen after development changes.
Similarly, though config archive import showed the 2 new system objects in the respective location of Test system, the expected functionality was not working. I checked this by deleting one of them and manually creating the same entry and it worked fine. So I also had to delete the 2nd one and create a manual entry. The system admin objects we used pertained to System Configuration  --> Content Mgmt--> Form Based Publishing --> Forms Availablity --> Folder Settings
We also moved kmcs and they are reflecting properly with correct folder permissions.
We don't understand why this is so occurring (iView and system admin entry appearing different or not getting registered )and never experienced such a case in previous projects. We don't want to face the issue going forward when transporting changes to staging and Prod systems.
Please assist as to what went wrong or any probable cause and solution for same.
    Thanks,
    Janani

    Hi,
Has anyone faced such a situation before and know the reason for same ?

  • Variable not processed after transport

    Hi all,
I have several DS applications. All use an Input ready customer exit variable with a default date value for previous workday. On dev System all is fine and working. After promoting the applications to prod System the variable is populated with the value from dev System, not prod.
I analyzed that it works as designed for applications where the Initial view has not been edited.
For applications where I edited the Initial view the value from dev System is in the prompt. Also other filters depending on the Exit variable are not processed and Keep their filter value from dev.
It is very confusing for the users that in some applications the Default date is yesterday as it should be everywhere and in other applications they get an old date.
How can I tell the application to update all variables when the application is run.?
It behaves like a BEx workbook.
If I run the query on it is own all is fine, of course.
    We´re using DS 1.4 SP0 PL1.

  • BEX Query Changes are not Reflecting in WAD

    Hello SDN Experts,
I'm  Facing a Typical Weird Issue. We got an Requirement to Create a New Variable in a Exisitng BEX Query. Assume that we have already a Variable on 0VENDOR. So I have Removed that Variabale and Added new Variable which was created by myself. So when I execute the Query I;m gettign displayed the new Variable wihch is working fine.
But the problem is with WAD. WAD is showing both the old and new Variables. So in selection paramater it is displaying two 0VENDOR variables instead of showing one.
Could you please Guide me how can the BEX Changes will get reflected in WAD report as well ???
    Your advice are highly appreciated
    Regards,
    Aluri

    Hello Hemanth,
This issue may be because you only removed variable but didn't change the 'input ready' settings of it.
Steps, go back to removed variable -- properties --- details -- then deselect 'variable is ready for input' -- save and exit -- try WAD report..
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks.

  • Query execution is not working after transports to Production

    Hello All,
I have released a complete data model for SAP HR from BW Dev to BW Prod. But when I generate a query and try to execute it, I am getting the below mentioned error.

    Hi,
    Have you tested any query without using this variable ?  if you can create a query w/o this variable, tht will show whether the problem is with your user exit where in the variable values r not getting populated or with the program SAPLRRK0 ;
Also check the query using RSRT, what error it shows, if possible run it in debug mode over there, with break point in your userexit.
I hope this will help to show where the problem could be

  • Web Template not impacted after query changed and Transported

    Hi. All.
We have modified the query and transported to production But query changes not been
impacted on Standard web teplate. But it works fine in Bex Analyzer.
Issue is there was a description was truncated earlier we used initially as short description.
Later we mapped to Medium description and modified the entire flow and loaded. It works fine.
Only in production we are not seeing correct description in web report and it works fine with Analyzer. So we need to ask the user as after executing the report he needs to change characterstic property from Standard to Medium.
But it would be bit inconvenience to users.
So how can we solve this problem and why the query changes are not impacting on Web template.
Please provide your views on this issue.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
one reason might be if you use the option "personalization" within the web template. If users can personalize the templates changes will not be visible and have to be deleted at the time a new version of the query is provided. There are background tables for the personalization as well where you can delete all objects for this template at once if necessary.
    Brgds,
    Marcel

  • Bex request can not collect the change of query

    HI every one:
Bex request can not collect the change of query automatically ,eventhough This query has ben transport before and have the same dev class with the Bex request.
when I press the  button to save the change of query  , a dialog was pop up to let me assign one request to this query.
who can help me ?! thanks alot!
    Best regard
    david

    Hi David,
already previous request is transported to Q or P....so when ever u try to change the existing query in BI.. the assigned request is not available in 'D'. so its asking to assign a request. for this
go to transport connection in Admin Workbench>there in right top u willl find a transport symbol for bex> click that for creating a request for bex queries--> after creating that request try to open ur query and do necessary modifications, what ever the modifications you do will come under this newly created request.
reply back if u have any questions
    Thanks and Regards

  • Objects not changed after successful release of transport requests

    Hi All,
We added  two free characteristics to a query and collected that query in a transport request in development. The request is released and imported successfully in quality. The problem we are facing now is that the two characteristics are not reflected in the query. But the hexadecimal numbers for the two characteristics are captured under the released transport request in Quality.
Could someone please help me out in solving this issue.............
    Regards,

    Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply. We have collected it through transport connection only.As I have mentioned in the thread import is successful ,hexadecimal number is present under the transport request but the changes are not present in the query.Could it be the problem with importing?...................

  • How to transport the BW query's variable to BO  webi report

    Hi all
I'd like to know how to transport the BW query's variable to BO 's webi . today ,I created a sap customer varible in my bw system to get the max calmonth in the active table. The varible in the BW side run's well ,but I use this query to build a new univers ,and created a new webi report base on this univers ,but the question is the webi report can't get the varible's value I wann to know how to transport the bw varible value to BO webi report
    Thanks and regards,
    Peter .zhu

I have changed my variaable in my bw query ,I found if you use SAP default variable it is ok in BO side . So I get a guidline by SAP default variable ,I changed my customer variable in variables edite ,don't use 'ready for input' .And then the variable can be useful in BO side .

  • BEx Analyzer Not showing report result in canceling "Change variable Icon"

    Hi Experts,
Do we have any settings in BEx Analyzer for retrive the Result set even after I click 'Change variable Icon' in Toolbar and cancel the variable pop-up window??
Eg: My query Result is displayed in Analyzer selecting some vaues in Selection screen. And when I click the Change Variable Icon from 'Analyzer Toolbar' its showing me 'Select values for variable' window. If I select the cancel button in it, then Query result becom blank showing the message "There are variables; change variable values". Do Analyzer having an option or settings to keep the result even if i cancel the variable selection from "change variable icon".
    Thanx in advance..

    Sari-
If SAP provides such a function, I have not found it. The way I understand it., the change variable value initiates the OLAP back end. This clears the Presentation Manager front end, and clears the 'results' that are displayed on your workbook. If you cancel the OLAP run, the front end clear still executes.
HOWEVER... if you turn OFF Automatic Refresh before clicking on Change Variable Values and then clicking on Cancel, the presentation manager will not write any changes to your workbook. So that is your best solution.

  • Variables not seen in query properties

    Dear friends,
I have a question as below,
I have 10 variables in a report and i have to change the order of this variables. for this when i go to query properties I dont see 2 variables of currency conversion.
Is there any other place where i can find these two missing variables in the report or any other alternate to fix my issue.
    Cheers
    Nitu

    Hello -
I believe I am having the same issue.  I am using a currency conversion type that is set up with variables for currency unit, exchange rate type and date.  The 3 variables show up on the variable screen but they seem to be inserted amongst my regular characteristic variables with no apparent logical order.  It does not appear to be alphabetical by technical name or description.
In Query Properties -> Variable Sequence Tab, they are not listed with the regular variables which I can reorder using this tab.
I would like to be able to sequence all of the variables -- including those displayed on the variable screen because of the currency conversion type.
    Thank you -
    Ann

  • Embedded SQL query in C - variable not in select list

    Hello everyone,
I am new to using embedded SQL in C. I have written a query based on some very similar code I have found and I keep getting this error:
    ID: ORA-XXXX
    OVRD:
TEXT: Oracle Errors Found - Consult Application Development Team
    INFO:
    SQLC: -1007
GLM: ORA-01007: variable not in select list
If anyone could help me figure out what I am doing wrong that is causing this error it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Here is the query that is generating the error, I have changed the variable names but the syntax is the same:
    SELECT TEMP_TABLE.tble,
    TEMP_TABLE.item_date,
    TEMP_TABLE.item_number,
    TEMP_TABLE.item_id,
    TEMP_TABLE.amount,
    TEMP_TABLE.method
    FROM (
    SELECT 'C' tble,
    item_date,
    item_number,
    item_id,
    amount,
    method
    FROM current
    WHERE (settlement_date IS NULL)
    UNION ALL
    SELECT '1' tble,
    item_date,
    item_number,
    item_id,
    amount,
    method
    FROM prev1
    WHERE (date IS NULL)
    UNION ALL
    SELECT '2' tble,
    item_date,
    item_number,
    item_id,
    amount,
    pay_method
    FROM prev2
    WHERE (date IS NULL)
    UNION ALL
    SELECT '3' tble,
    item_date,
    item_number,
    item_id,
    amount,
    pay_method
    FROM prev3
    WHERE (date IS NULL)
    UNION ALL
    SELECT '4' tble,
    item_date,
    item_number,
    item_id,
    amount,
    method
    FROM prev4
    WHERE (date IS NULL)) TEMP_TABLE
    WHERE (TEMP_TABLE.item_date,
    TEMP_TABLE.item_number,
    TEMP_TABLE.item_id) IN
    (SELECT item_date, item_number, item_id
    FROM item
    WHERE (source, location) IN
    (SELECT source, location
    FROM SOURCE_REF
    WHERE online = 'O'
    AND (source, location) IN
    (SELECT source,
    location
    FROM SOURCE_METHOD_REF
    WHERE type = 'P')))

Oh yeah I forgot to add that I have tested the query in TOAD and it works just fine so its something to do with embedding it into C I believe.

  • Want to read a Query list of results into a defined variable "as Collection" for later use (ie create reports)

The following code works great (Functions Main and OpenThisFile ) to select files from a folder and read into defined variable "FileToProcess As Collection" (I guess then renamed fil) and use that list of files to run through
an import process defined in a function "StartMe".
What I want to do is read the results of a query into a similar collection variable and then use in a function like "StartMe" to run a series of reports.  The functions to do that below (PrintCKListTables and ReadQueryOfSDGs) currently
don't work erring out "For Each s In .selectedQuery".  I would appreciate any help guiding me how to fix function

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

    .InitialFileName = initialFilePath
'Set the title of the dialog box.

    If .Show = True Then

    Dim s
    Set OpenThisFile = New Collection

MsgBox "You clicked Cancel in the file dialog box."
    NotContinue = True
    End If
    End With
    End Function
    Public Function PrintCkListTables()
        Dim FilesToProcess As Collection, fil
        Dim ListSDGs As String
        Set FilesToProcess = ReadQueryOfSDGs(ListSDGs)
        For Each fil In FilesToProcess
            fNameExportpdfReport (fil)
        Next fil
End FunctionPublic Function ReadQueryOfSDGs() As Collection       DoCmd.OpenQuery "y_qs_DataIn_All_SDGList"
           Dim s
           Set ReadQueryOfSDGs = New Collection
           For Each s In .selectedQuery
           ReadQueryOfSDGs.Add s
           Next s
    End Function

There are a few problems here. In function PrintCkListTables() you define a string variable ListSDGs and then use that as an argument to the function ReadQueryOfSDGs(), but ReadQueryOfSDGs() as written does not accept any arguments.  It's also not clear
what ListSDGs represents...a list of files, names of queries? Also, the line
For Each s In .selectedQuery in
    ReadQueryOfSDGs()
references something called .selectedQuery which is undefined.
Is it that you want ReadQueryOfSDGs() to loop through the records returned by a query and add a field from each record to a collection?  If so, something like the following might better serve you:
    Public Function ReadQueryOfSDGs() As Collection
        Dim C As New Collection
        Dim rst As DAO.Recordset
Set rst = DBEngine(0)(0).OpenRecordset("y_qs_DataIn_All_SDGList", dbOpenForwardOnly, dbReadOnly)
        Do Until rst.EOF
C.Add rst!MyField ' where MyField is the field in y_qs_DataIn_All_SDGList you want to add to your collection
            rst.MoveNext
        Loop
        rst.Close
        Set rst = Nothing
        Set ReadQueryOfSDGs = C
